Summer kitchen in the country - building projects and recommendations for choosing the best option. Summer kitchen in the country - relaxation in comfort How to furnish the summer kitchen in the country

Do cooking in the kitchen small size- Not a pleasant job. Hot air, tightness, constant lack of free space make the cooking process difficult and sometimes unbearable. There is only one way out - to build a separate spacious summer kitchen in the country house, where there is enough space not only to accommodate the working, but also the dining area, with a large and comfortable dining table. About which summer kitchen is most in demand today, and whether it is possible to build it yourself using standard projects And regular photo, later in our article.

What is a summer kitchen

The summer kitchen in the country is an attached to the house or a separate building designed for cooking and relaxing. Depending on the choice of materials and the method of insulation, it can be used both during the warm season and constantly.

The type of construction of the summer kitchen can be open and closed. In the first case, the walls of the building are completely or partially absent. They can be replaced by light curtains or. At closed type there are capital walls and windows that reliably cover the kitchen from rain and wind.

For an experienced carpenter, it will not be difficult to build a canopy from the rain over the summer kitchen

A summer kitchen with a simple project can be safely built in just one summer. This will require basic skills. construction works, the necessary material and tools. Well, for safety net, it is desirable to have one or two assistants, since some types of work will be carried out at height.

Important! Before you start building an object, you should select for it appropriate place. Not only the aesthetic, but also the practical side of the issue will depend on how correctly this will be done.

We select a place for construction

When choosing a suitable place, first of all, you need to consider that the kitchen should not be too remote at home. And the point is not even that it will be easier and cheaper to bring communications, but that it should be within walking distance from the main building. After all, you must admit that every day it is not very convenient to go to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner on the opposite side of the site.

In addition, next to the summer kitchen, there should not be sources that have bad smell. These include sheds and animal cages, fertilizer pits, compost heaps, sewer wells, septic tanks, etc.

Have own kitchen on the fresh air- the dream of any housewife

If there is a tree on the site, it is advisable to plan a summer kitchen in the immediate vicinity of it. On hot days, a table and chairs can be placed under its dense crown. It's no secret that breakfast in the fresh air is doubly pleasant.

However, carried away by the planning of the future structure, do not forget about the rules fire safety, the neglect of which can lead to not the best consequences.

The presence of an open flame in the summer kitchen is allowed if it is at least 8-10 meters away from flammable buildings.

We decide on the kitchen project (photo)

In order for the cooking extension to be practical, functional and comfortable, and also to have an attractive appearance, it is important to choose the right project for it, in which all the nuances and design features will be painted to the smallest detail.

In addition, it is important that the kitchen organically fit into the overall building and does not disturb the surrounding landscape, so it is advisable to choose the same materials for its construction as for the house itself. So you will achieve perfect harmony between the two buildings.

As you may have noticed, many summer kitchen projects whose photos are posted in the article have an original and non-standard design. This suggests that today the aesthetic component is no less important than the functional one.

Building a building on your own

When the place and project for the summer kitchen are chosen, you can safely proceed to its construction. Like any building, the construction of a summer kitchen is carried out in four stages:

 1. Marking the site and pouring the foundation.
 2. The erection of walls (if provided for by the project) or supporting pillars.
 3. Roof construction.
 4. Internal and external finishing.

Foundation

Since this building is relatively light, there is no need to pour a capital foundation. It is quite possible to get by or, most importantly, to be carried out in compliance with the technology.

Important! For those who subsequently do not want to mess with the floor device, it is perfect, the upper base of which will be the floor.

For the construction of a summer kitchen made of glass - the foundation may not be required at all

 • Strip foundation. First, a markup is made on the site, which is marked on the plane with fixed pegs with a rope stretched between them. Next, a foundation pit is dug (depth 40-60 cm), along the perimeter of which formwork from boards or moisture-resistant plywood is installed on both sides. Then, in order to avoid heaving of the soil, a backfill is made of compacted seeded sand and crushed stone. Before concrete is poured, reinforcement is lowered into the trench and tied with wire using a special hook. The foundation must stand for at least 30 days. If you are lucky with the weather, you can start construction in 2 weeks.
 • monolithic foundation. Having previously marked the site, a foundation pit is dug to a depth of 15-20 cm. To strengthen the soil and protect the slab from groundwater, geotextiles are settled at the bottom of the pit, on top of which a sand cushion is made. Further, the sand is well leveled and tightly compacted by a tamping machine. It remains to put the formwork, tie reinforcing cage pour concrete solution. After complete drying, a reliable and high-quality base for the summer kitchen is ready.

Important! If you plan to use an open type of summer kitchen, a stove made of monolithic foundation it is recommended to do it with a slight slope of 1.5º-2º, so that along it rainwater could slide down on its own.

Walls and roof

If the walls of the summer kitchen are wooden, their construction begins with the construction of a frame, which is made of metal or wooden bars.

 1. Large (support) racks are installed in the corners - 200 × 200 mm in size, and additional ones between them - 150 × 150 mm in size.
 2. The upper strapping beams are placed on the support bars, which will also serve as the basis for installing the rafters.
 3. After the rafters are installed, from bars measuring 50 × 50 mm. a crate and a counter-lattice are made.
 4. Further, the entire structure is treated with a special compound from fungus and mold, after which installation is carried out.

Often, rounded logs, bricks or stone are used as wall material, which is ideal for building. of this type. With such walls, the building can be used year-round, the main thing is to produce them of high quality.

An indisputable advantage is also that facade of the summer kitchen from a log facing brick or decorative stone does not require additional finishing. Extra costs come down only to the fact that wood is needed and, and stone and brick.

We decide on the design of the facade

When choosing a summer kitchen project from photos that you like, you need to pay attention not only to its shape, size, and functional component, but also to the design of the building. For a summer residence, it is very important that the style of the outbuildings correspond to the general layout of the entire site as a whole.

This does not mean at all that the building should be a kind of clone of the main structure. Rather, on the contrary, they should not replace, but complement each other, creating common stylistic touches.

Particular attention in the summer kitchen should also be given to the working and dining area, where everything should be as rational and convenient as possible. Properly organize the space will help you placed below photo of summer kitchens, where it is clearly demonstrated how beautifully and correctly design various zones.

The work area is an important element in the interior. Try to keep it comfortable and practical

 • Furniture. Use upholstered furniture in the summer kitchen open type not best idea. In most cases, it is made of foam rubber, which absorbs moisture well. Therefore, it is better to use wooden or plastic benches and chairs with removable cushions. It also fits well into the interior. different kinds wicker furniture that goes well with any finishing materials. For example, a rattan chair or a wicker chair will look very nice. If a closed type of kitchen is used, then the flight of fancy should not be limited by anything. In this case, you can use any furniture, including upholstered.
 • Lighting. Proper lighting summer kitchen in the country, regardless of its size - milestone repair work. A chandelier suspended in the center or a single lamp cannot always cope with the task assigned to it. To illuminate all zones, it is desirable to use more than one type of lighting. It is appropriate to place above the working area Spotlights in tandem with, and hang a large chandelier over the table.

We hope that this article will help you to competently approach the issue of choosing the right project for your summer kitchen. As you can see sources for inspiration and fresh ideas enough to implement the plan. Good luck with your construction.

Open design options are popular due to their simplicity.

giving preference this species buildings, it is still better to take care of shelter from the weather: install a canopy or even a roof; make removable partitions, sliding structures or hang curtains. An open kitchen is not very practical, since almost all utensils will still have to be kept in the house. But for cutting food, eating, frying kebabs - that's it.

It is better to equip an open building with a canopy - it will cover you from the rain

 • Closed summer kitchen. There is a foundation, 4 solid walls and a roof - complete isolation from the weather and, accordingly, more possibilities in the choice of functionality, interior and furniture.

In the closed kitchen you can cook regardless of the weather

A summer kitchen with a terrace deserves special attention. closed view. Of course it will take more material and additional installation work but it's worth it! Inside the room, you can leave only the functional part of the kitchen necessary for cooking. But on the terrace to place a refectory area.

The terrace before construction can be equipped under dining area or recreation area

Considering the options for a summer kitchen, I would also like to add that it can be either one-story or two-story - it all depends on your financial capabilities and wishes. The construction of such a room requires correct calculations, therefore, for the convenience of work, planning, or rather drawing up a mini-project of a summer kitchen, will not be superfluous.

Regardless of the type of building, it can be made cozy and functional.

We select everything for the summer kitchen - 4 important nuances

What you want to see your summer kitchen - it's up to you. We can only tell you what to consider when choosing, and give some useful tips. So, let's begin.

When building a summer kitchen, you need to consider its location, materials and style.

Location selection

You can put such a building anywhere: near the house, in the garden, in the garden, near the pond. But when choosing the location of the future kitchen, it is necessary to take into account several nuances, which we will discuss in this section. So, you need to pay attention to:

 • Landscape. Elevation and the absence of a lowland will be an ideal place for the construction of such a building.
 • fire safety. Coniferous trees and wooden buildings are very flammable, so it is better not to place a summer kitchen next to them.

 • Daylight. Must choose sunny side plot (by the way, the south side is not the best place for a summer kitchen, perfect option– east or north orientation).
 • Communications. Do not lose sight of the convenience of communications: plumbing, electricity, water drainage, and so on (a rational decision would be to seek help from specialists). Do not forget also that all the necessary communications are carried out first, and only then the foundation is established.

The closer the building is to the house, the easier it is to bring communications to it.

 • Proximity to home. The kitchen should be located so that it can easily get into the house and view the entire economic territory;

Foundation and floor

The foundation for the summer kitchen can be either simple columnar or concrete. Again, everything depends on material resources. Concerning floor covering, then it should be durable, wash well and not slip.

A good foundation is the key to a solid structure

 • Boards and linoleum. Or just boards. When choosing the latter, do not forget about the proximity to the ground, which can lead to the appearance of fungi and harmful insects. Therefore, it is better to use a proven wood species and treat it with a special antiseptic.

Tiles must be laid on a perfectly flat surface.

 • Clinker tiles. Separately, it should be noted clinker tiles, which are made from special clay and undergo a long heat treatment. It has a low level of moisture absorption, excellent strength, ease of installation, low cost and a wide range. When using such a floor covering, you will get a modern and aesthetic kitchen.

Clinker tiles are highly durable and moisture resistant

 • A natural stone. Gender out natural stone- limestone, sandstone, marble, slate will look very impressive. This option is suitable for both open and closed summer kitchens. Perhaps the only drawback of such a coating is its price and ability to absorb various oils.

Natural stone looks spectacular, but it is also expensive

Selection of materials

After you have decided on the place for the future kitchen and thought out the foundation and floor, it's time to think about the basis of the design - the material for the walls. We offer you several popular options at once.

Most often, summer kitchens are made of timber, brick or polycarbonate.

 • From profiled timber. It must be said that this is the most cheap option summer kitchens. But if you decide to build it yourself, remember that when building summer kitchens from timber, you need to have certain skills that will help you assemble the prepared lumber accurately and correctly.

Summer kitchen from a bar - a stylish and at the same time cozy option

Only the frame of the building can be made of wood, but this material can be used both for the frame and for the exterior and interior decoration of the room. In this case, the walls are impregnated with drying oil and varnished.

The beam must be impregnated with drying oil and varnished

 • From foam blocks or bricks. This pleasure will cost more wooden building, but you are unlikely to ever regret it (especially in windy and rainy weather). External and interior decoration summer kitchens made of bricks or foam blocks can be very diverse.

Foam blocks or bricks are one of the most durable materials for building

For facing the outer part, siding, plastic eurolining or a block house will serve perfectly. And for the inside - drywall, natural or fake diamond, tile. Facing materials for the summer kitchen should have good resistance to moisture, temperature changes, ultraviolet rays and also does not require special care.

For facing the walls of the kitchen, you can use decorative bricks

 • Summer kitchen made of polycarbonate. This option looks especially elegant and airy. Such a building creates the appearance of being in nature, while you are under reliable protection from adverse weather conditions or scorching sunlight. Polycarbonate also has good thermal insulation.

Polycarbonate protects against gusts of wind and sunlight

This material will harmoniously fit into any landscape, will not load it and will not create an extra shadow. In addition, when building a polycarbonate kitchen, you can implement projects of any complexity, of any shape, without being limited to anything: a fabulous house, a multifaceted kitchen, a tea house, and so on.

Polycarbonate is able to organically fit into any landscape

And such a kitchen can be made tinted, neutral-transparent, completely transparent or white - very convenient. Summer kitchens made of polycarbonate can also be collapsible - a great opportunity to move them to another place or clean them up for the winter.

How to equip an economy version of a summer kitchen near the house? For example, your summer kitchen can be placed on a ready-made terrace, as in these photos. Or, after considering this summer kitchen project, you will discover hidden reserves for building a simple summer kitchen in your country house.

This summer kitchen includes: work table with water supply, electricity, electric oven, barbecue and mobile dinner table.

Summer kitchen construction photo.

In order to build a summer kitchen quickly and with minimal cost, it was decided to use the place on the terrace next to the house, which was already equipped with a transparent polycarbonate canopy.

The complete construction and arrangement of the summer kitchen took two months, taking into account the fact that they worked mainly on weekends.

In order to create a more weatherproof place, back the terraces were sewn up tightly, and the side part was decorated with wooden slats.

Such slats create practical wind protection, but do not create strong shading for the windows of the house.

The desktop of the summer kitchen is made on wooden frame. It has a storage shelf kitchen utensils. For reliable protection the table was painted with a special paint for wood for outdoor use against bad weather.

The tabletop is made of glued wooden beam, cut a hole in it under the sink.

The work table took its place against the back wall of the terrace. At this stage, electricity was brought to the summer kitchen - for lighting and electric stoves. They also made a water supply to the desktop with a hose, which will be turned off and removed for the winter. To save money, drains under the sink were not made at this stage: in fact, the sink is an ordinary basin, the water from which can simply be poured into the garden.

In the summer kitchen, you will also need a dining table, which is made mobile, because. the main dining area is located in a large gazebo next to the terrace.

This gazebo is used only on fine days - at this stage it is not even a gazebo, but just a corner near the fence.

A canopy was made for the gazebo and light curtains were hung to protect from the sun. This completed the main construction work.

Summer kitchen arrangement photo.

After all the main elements of the summer kitchen were ready, it was possible to start arranging.

Everything was done at minimal cost: as kitchen shelves wooden fruit boxes are used, a branch from an apple tree was adapted to illuminate the kitchen.

A small budget doesn't mean you can't afford nice, cute details like this plant and gravel box recessed into the deck floor.

After all, if the other side of the terrace is used for garden work she can be beautiful too.

The most beautiful and inexpensive decor elements in the garden are flowers.

They can be placed everywhere - in drawers, on shelves and just on the floor.

Because the summer kitchen is small - any place is used as efficiently as possible, so Bottom part table is used to store dishes.

Barbecue has also taken its place in the summer kitchen.

The side surface of the terrace next to the work table is additionally covered with a wind curtain.

Arrangement in the country of a summer kitchen gives a lot good points. Firstly, outdoor cooking turns a routine process into a pleasant pastime. Secondly, for the period of mass harvesting of canned vegetables, compotes and jams, you can get rid of fumes and odors in country house. And the third - if you equip the summer kitchen with your own hands, then in the future you will not have to look for a place for evening gatherings with relatives and weekends with friends.

Do-it-yourself brick summer kitchen with barbecue

The special aroma and appetizing appearance of dishes cooked on B-B-Q will be appreciated by both adults and children. For a summer residence, you can buy a factory structure that allows you to cook food on a grill, however, a summer kitchen built of bricks with a barbecue oven can serve not only as equipment for frying meat and fish, but will also become the central figure of a summer cottage recreation area.

We present to your attention the E. Gudkov barbecue oven, which you can build with your own hands. It combines all the advantages of a grill and a hob with a burner. Taking advantage detailed instruction, in which drawings and ordering are given, it will not be difficult to fold such an oven with your own hands.

Construction of the foundation of the summer kitchen

The design proposed for repetition has an impressive weight, so the arrangement of a serious foundation for it is mandatory. To build a tiled foundation, you will need concrete reinforced with a metal mesh.

Materials and tools

Our building is not so responsible to use high quality and expensive building mixtures, so there will be enough concrete grade M200. For its preparation, you can use the following ratio of building materials:

 • 1 hour - cement brand 400;
 • 4 hours - crushed stone or coarse gravel (fraction 30 mm);
 • 2 hours - coarse river sand.

Make sure that the content of impurities in sand does not exceed 10 parts of its volume, and in crushed stone - a value of 2%.

Using the suggested proportion will require the following expense building materials for 1 cu. m. of concrete:

 • Cement M400 - 325 kg;
 • Sand - 1.3 t
 • Crushed stone - 1.3 t
 • Water - 205 l.

To strengthen the foundation, a mesh frame of class A3 reinforcement is required. Starting to mark the base, 20 cm are added to the dimensions of the future furnace on each side. With a structure size of 1.4 × 1 m, a foundation is laid out with a size of 1.6 × 1.2 m.

The project of the foundation of the summer kitchen. A photo

When starting to pour the base, prepare:

 • narrow, round and square rammers;
 • scraper, trowel, trowel;
 • removal probe air bubbles from a mixture;
 • shovels for soil and mortar;
 • trowel;
 • board for fine leveling of the surface.

How to lay concrete correctly

In order to build a solid foundation, it is necessary to take into account soil features Location on. Water-saturated, swelling, peaty and other specific soils will require additional strengthening before arranging the base for the furnace.

To mark out foundation, it is enough to drive pegs into the ground, check the diagonals and pull the cord. At the same time, the dimensions of the pit for the tiled foundation must correspond to its size (in our case, 1.6 × 1.2 m). Since the building is designed for outdoor use, the ground under its base will freeze and thaw in winter. Therefore, in some cases, a sand cushion up to 1 m thick may be required.

It will be right when arranging a sand cushion to protect the bottom and walls of the pit geotextile, which will prevent erosion of the base groundwater. Tampering is performed in several stages. To do this, sand is added every 10-15 cm, which, after compaction, is additionally spilled with water.

In order to waterproof and to avoid leakage of concrete into the sand, two layers are laid on the prepared site. roofing felt. Further along the contour of the pit, every 0.5 m, racks for formwork boards are driven in and fixed with slopes. Fix and moisten the formwork.

Before pouring concrete, install fittings, for which, at a height of 20-30 mm from the bottom, a grid is installed over the entire surface of the foundation. Then, with the help of vertical jumpers, a second reinforcing belt is installed at a distance of at least 20 mm from the upper plane of the foundation slab.

They try to pour concrete and compact it at a time. In this case, the solidity of the structure will be ensured and certain period concrete hardening.

A prerequisite for high-quality concreting is to maintain optimal humidity, so the foundation is covered tarpaulin. After 3 - 4 hours after pouring on the surface of the base of the furnace, they are covered with sawdust or sand. Concrete is moistened with water for 1 - 2 weeks until the foundation finally sets.

The formwork is removed only when the corners of the structure acquire sufficient strength. It is possible to start the construction of the furnace no earlier than two weeks after concrete work.

Construction of Gudkov's barbecue oven

For the construction of the furnace body you will need fireclay refractory or red clay brick in the amount of 465 pcs. Refractory material is preferred because it can easily withstand elevated temperatures. If you decide to use the usual ceramic brick, then make sure that the material is properly fired. Cracks, voids, insufficient firing are unacceptable. Not suitable for barbecue ovens and sand-lime bricks.

In addition, you need to prepare the following oven parts:

 • cooking stove with one burner 500 × 420 mm in size;
 • grate 500 × 420 mm for barbecue;
 • sheet metal 600 × 500 mm;
 • soot removal door 140×140 mm;
 • blower door 140 × 270 mm;
 • loading door 270×250 mm;
 • grate 300×200 mm;
 • metal corner with a shelf length of 32 mm, a thickness of 4 mm - 4 pcs. 500 mm and 6 pcs. 600 mm each;
 • steel wire OE2mm - 10 m;
 • asbestos cord OE5 mm - 10 m.

Masonry mortar

Brick during the construction of the furnace is laid on a clay-sand mortar, using plastic grades of red clay and coarse sand sifted on a sieve. The ratio of materials is chosen, depending on the fat content of clay:

 • add 1 hour of oily clay - 2.5 hours of sand;
 • for 1 hour of medium clay - 1.5 hours of sand;
 • for lean clay - the ratio is 1: 1.

You can determine the degree of fat content of clay by the content of sand in it:

 • from 2 to 4% - oily;
 • up to 15% - medium;
 • from 30% - skinny.

To prepare the working mixture, the clay is soaked for 1 day, and then, gradually stirring, sand is added to it. To prepare the solution, you can also use special factory-made high-temperature mixtures, which can be found in the distribution network.

Furnace body

It is best to start work on the furnace with the construction of a temporary canopy under which it will be possible to work in any weather. To avoid mistakes during the laying process, the body of the building can be laid out dry.

Construction begins with moistening the brick. Red ceramic bricks are dipped into water for one or two minutes, and fireclay bricks are rinsed from dust.

Brick laying is carried out with dressing of seams in half a brick, observing the thickness of the seams from 3 to 5 mm (the smaller value is for refractory material). It is important that chips and cracks on the surface do not face inwards. working chamber or chimney.

As you install, you will need to install stove appliances. To ensure the reliability of the design, metal parts furnaces fasten the wire, which is embedded in the masonry. Since metal and ceramics expand differently when heated, a thermal gap of 3–5 mm is necessarily made, which is subsequently eliminated with an asbestos cord.

Orders

After the level of the combustion chamber is completely removed, a grill-brazier or metal grill is installed on the corners. hotplate.

Metal corners as a support are also used in the arrangement of the arch. The smoke channel can be 270×140 mm, 270×270 mm and 400×140 mm. To reduce the formation of soot on the inner walls of the chimney, they are plastered.

To finish the barbecue oven, plastering, pasting with tiles or tiles, as well as simple jointing are used.

After the summer kitchen with a barbecue is built, do not rush to test the stove to its full potential. To avoid cracks, the stove should be warmed up with small portions of firewood during the week.

Summer kitchen in the country with their own hands. Step-by-step instruction

The proposed design of the summer kitchen combines hob, a small Russian oven, as well as work surfaces that provide additional convenience in the cooking process. Installed under a canopy made of boards or polycarbonate, an open kitchen will take on all the responsibilities for preparing all kinds of dishes and sunsets in the summer.

The main materials that will be needed for construction:

Having chosen a place for future construction, they begin to draw up drawings and calculate the amount of materials. The step-by-step instructions below will help systematize all the stages of building a summer kitchen.

Foundation for the summer kitchen. A photo

Foundation construction

Having marked a hole for the foundation with the help of pegs and a cord, they begin earthmoving. Having reached a depth of the pit of 35 cm, its walls are reinforced with formwork boards, and the bottom is covered with a 5-cm layer of gravel and compacted.

Equip two-layer armored belt from metal mesh and vertical steel bars. Make sure that the reinforcement does not touch the boards, and after pouring it is protected by a layer of concrete with a thickness of at least 20 mm.

After pouring, the concrete is compactedvibrating screed, cover with a film and leave for 2 weeks until complete setting.

Summer kitchen with your own hands. Step-by-step instruction

Hull masonry

Laying starts from the corner, constantly controlling the geometry of the rows and corners with the help of a level and a plumb line.

To shift the rows by half a brick, the laying of the second row begins in the dressing.

After passing two rows, they equip the blower by mounting its door into the front wall. In the overlap of the working space above the blower, a grate is installed, and one row higher - the door of the combustion chamber. The combustion zone itself is made low, one or two rows of bricks above the loading hole, otherwise the flame will not reach the stove with burners.

The furnace body is built to a height convenient for further operation.

After laying, the seams are filled with mortar and smoothed with a grater.

Table top installation

Arrangement working surface start with the laying of supporting rods from steel reinforcement. Formwork is mounted on them, which is poured with concrete.

After the concrete has set, the countertop is finished with flagstone, carefully leveling separate fragments and gaps between them. On the final stage the walls of the summer kitchen are plastered or lined with heat-resistant finishing materials.

Choosing a stove for a summer kitchen

Of course, in the summer kitchen you can install an electric stove or a gas stove powered by a cylinder of liquefied gas, however, really delicious dishes made in a real wood-fired oven. In the carefully heated space of a miniature Russian stove, you can cook hot dishes in cauldrons or bake amazingly fragrant pies and pizza.

Many articles have been written about how to put the stove in the summer kitchen. Our design uses the most simple circuit Russian oven. For its construction, a semicircular vault is made with a side channel, which leads into a common chimney.

The outer lining of the wood-burning hearth can be made with sandstone, carefully fitting the fragments of the decoration to each other. After that, the seams are filled with mortar and smoothed with a spatula and grater.

Summer kitchen roof

After the stove and the working area are equipped, they begin to equip the roof of the summer kitchen. To maintain the style in which the proposed design is built with wood burning stove, it is best to make a gable roof.

To do this, a frame made of a wooden beam with a size of at least 100 × 100 mm is installed around the working space, after which an overlap is made of wooden planks, metal tiles or other materials.

Summer kitchen design and finishing options

Equipping a summer kitchen, I want to get not only the functionality and convenience of an open working area, but also a beautiful building, designed in the style of other buildings and structures suburban area. A kitchen located near the house can be placed on large veranda adjacent to one of the inputs. A well-equipped barbecue area will eliminate the need to install a portable barbecue. Planted around the summer kitchen ornamental plants and shrubs. If there is a need to shade structures, then all kinds of arches and supports are used. A pergola installed near the summer kitchen will provide the necessary shade on hot days and create a secluded corner for leisurely conversations and gatherings with friends.

In the warm season, the last thing you want is to be indoors, and even more so - to fry at the stove. But there are other reasons why the owners of dachas and country houses are thinking about arranging a summer kitchen. This building will become the center of family or friendly gatherings, barbecue, the realm of seasonal conservation and beautiful way saving energy resources.

Summer kitchens in the country, the projects of which are presented in our photo gallery, are as individual and diverse as the traditions of each individual family.

In appearance, they may differ from the buildings already existing in the country or harmoniously and complement them. And for the price - to demonstrate "chic and brilliance", to be quite budget option or golden mean.

Since you are interested in this topic, most likely you already have a rough idea of how the summer kitchen in your country house will look like. We will help you not to miss important details, we will share interesting ideas, and a selection of photos will charge you with the enthusiasm necessary to implement them.

How to start working on your own project? To begin with, we would recommend defining a list of tasks that the summer kitchen will perform.

Summer kitchen functions

The dimensions, type, layout, subject content of the summer kitchen in the country, and many other points depend on the purpose of this building.

After all, it is used for cooking, as well as for placement:

 • dining room;
 • recreation areas;
 • areas for washing and storing dishes;
 • guest;
 • barbecue or barbecue area;
 • kitchen utensils that you do not use so often in the main house;
 • dryers for clothes, linen, mushrooms, berries, fruits and herbs;
 • garden, fishing or hunting equipment.

In the closed summer kitchen, you can move the washing or dishwasher if they have no place in the house.

Taking into account the fact that not so many buildings will fit on a standard 6 acres, it will be rational find a use for the space above or below the kitchen.

The cellar is useful for storing spins and preserves, seeds, tubers that are not resistant to frost, rhizomes of plants and country equipment. In the attic, you can equip a place for drying fruits, mushrooms or fish.

It is better to think about the summer kitchen project even at the construction stage of the dacha itself (if possible). First of all, it is cost-effective and reduces the cost of repairs.

An attic can always be completed, but with a cellar, everything can be much more complicated. An insulated and waterproofed cellar is useful only for storing a variety of things, including firewood.

Slab selection

Even in ancient times, the construction of a house began with a furnace. Today this is not the case, because there are a lot of heating devices, and their use is often limited only to cooking.

With type cooker need to be determined in advance - since it depends on what to carry out gas pipes or cable.

Most often in the country they put the usual gas stove. According to the older generation, it is easier to cook on it and it is cheaper. If it is not possible to supply gas, you can use propane tank or opt for an electric stove.

For lovers of barbecue and grilling there are portable kitchens that can be rearranged from open air to a canopy and vice versa.

lovers multifunctional items appreciate heating and cooking furnaces or furnace complexes. After all, a Russian, Swedish or Dutch stove can be not only a fireplace and a means for cooking, but also an effective way to heat the adjacent rooms of the house - for example, baths, saunas or showers.

By installing a metal tank near such a stove, you will provide a kitchen in the country hot water(which is very convenient when washing dishes and cans).

If the acquisition of new equipment or the construction of complex structures is not included in your plans, and even more so when you strive for maximum closeness to nature and want to build a fire source with your own hands, make a brazier.

 • do not intend to buy new technology for giving;
 • do not plan the construction of complex structures;
 • do not trust portable structures;
 • want to arrange a place for a fire yourself -

Build a brazier. This props, useful in the country, can be made by hand.

Country life is unimaginable without a barbecue, which you can do with your own hands. (the word “construction” is found in other parts of the text).

To lay out the area in contact with fire, you will need a refractory one - for example, fireclay brick, mortar or clay. The outer layer of the brazier can be decorated with river or facing stone.

An eco-fuel alternative to gas and electricity - firewood - will definitely reduce your heating costs, especially if there is a forest nearby. But, as with everything, it also has its drawbacks, because wood-fired cooking requires:

 • regular felling and harvesting;
 • storage;
 • annual chimney cleaning.

Now we move on to the next step: select the type of building.

Closed summer kitchens

Closed, completely protected from the wind and other weather surprises, the summer kitchen will perfectly cope with the role of a guest house. And if you provide good heating, it will be adapted for living in winter time. Examples of closed summer kitchens in the country - in the photo below.

A closed-type summer kitchen with a sofa and a dining area is a full-fledged, durable home with obvious advantages. Neither rain, nor snow, nor mosquitoes will kick you out from the table, disturb your plans, and even more so - they will not spoil furniture and appliances. But for its construction, more materials are needed.

The walls are built of brick, stone or foam concrete, and the roof is made of tiles, slate or corrugated board. And for all this you need a solid foundation with a depth of at least 50 cm.

Properly designed and built closed kitchen will operate all 4 seasons, regardless of the climate zone.

If the guest room is located in the main house or is not in your project at all, the size of the kitchen can be reduced. Required minimum for a kitchen-dining room, an area of 8-9 is considered square meters, but who better than you to know the exact figure.

Tip: in order not to suffocate while cooking on hot summer days, consider turning a closed kitchen into a semi-open one by opening windows or additional doors.

Open summer kitchens

Buildings are considered open, in which there are completely or partially no walls, and sometimes even a roof. These include gazebos, pavilions, awnings, patios or pergolas.

This is a great opportunity to organize a kitchen with a barbecue or other source of fire. An open kitchen will not cost you much. It is quickly erected, does not require an exhaust hood, heating, a strong foundation and professional building skills.

Having dug a pit 15-20 cm deep, you fill it with sand or gravel, tamp it down, and then put terrace boards, brick, stone or paving slabs- that's the foundation.

Important: the roof in an open structure should extend beyond the building - this way it will save you as much as possible from oblique rain.

The absence of windproof walls and the free circulation of air masses are both an advantage and a disadvantage. open kitchen in the country. On the one hand, the wind saves from the heat and inflates the fire. But in the company of rain and cold, it makes your stay in nature uncomfortable, and open structures - short-lived buildings for seasonal purposes.

Often, open-type kitchens are used to equip cozy outdoor dining areas. The role of the walls will be partitions, decorated with curly garden plants or trees.

Clematis, bindweed, grapes, kiwi, creepers - choose plants so that they bloom in turn, and your kitchen is constantly changing in color. A beautiful and useful wall substitute for the dining room will be mosquito net with an image, long curtains or roller blinds.

To get an idea of the variety of outdoor summer kitchens, take a look at these photos.

Combined

Semi-open summer kitchens combine positive traits closed and open buildings. You are still in the fresh air, but no longer under all four winds.

One of the walls can adjoin a house or other building, allowing you to save on materials. Two stone walls provide an opportunity to arrange corner kitchen, convenient in terms of ergonomics and placement of the dining room.

Combined are also called kitchens made of different materials - for example, stone or brick goes to the level of windows, and above - beams, frame technologies or panels.

Having decided on the functions and choosing the degree of "closeness" of the planned building, we proceed to the search the best place for its location.

Optimal location

Finding the best location for a new building is perhaps one of the most difficult parts project. By placement, summer kitchens are divided into two types: free-standing buildings and extensions to the main house.

But here's what to consider. On the one hand, the summer kitchen in the country should be closer to home, because it will be easier to bring communications. But then smoke and heat can enter the house, causing inconvenience. Therefore, it is important to find out in which direction the air masses are most often directed.

Like any place for preparing or eating food, the kitchen should be located away from the toilet, chicken coop, doghouse, roadway, compost pit and other sources of unpleasant odors.

Cooking in the sun is an unpleasant occupation, so the proximity of a dense tree crown will not hurt.

And, of course, everyone would like to enjoy the magnificent landscape, garden or vegetable garden, and not the wall of a neighboring house. At this point, a compromise is possible - decorated climbing plants, textiles, stained glass or decor partition that will hide an unsightly look.

It must also be taken into account that a closed summer kitchen requires a deep foundation.

Economy options

Many people dream of a summer kitchen in the country, but often the prices for the stone that are most suitable for arranging it direct our enthusiasm to something else. And in vain ...

After all, the kitchen can be made from improvised materials, you just need to turn on your ingenuity. For example, old window frames reduce the cost of building a closed kitchen.

True, this will not relieve you of the need to lay the foundation.

Alternatively, a summer kitchen can be made from a railroad container. It is possible that it will be much cheaper compared to construction to purchase a ready-made change house that does not need additional finishing.

But still, the summer kitchen project in the country, which falls under the category of economy class, most often involves an open-type building. And since the concept of a “simple summer kitchen” is very individual and extensible, let's look at several different options.

1. A stove, sink and work surfaces united by an island, located on a common foundation with the house under open sky. stone, plastic, stainless steel and thoughtful design will protect the island from the influence of moisture, but you and the cooked dishes will be saved by the awning installed nearby.

2. Reorganization of a gazebo, veranda or terrace into a summer kitchen.

3. The connection of two existing buildings with a common roof made of tarpaulin or lighter waterproof materials.

4. Stakes or metal supports, braided vine as walls and a thatched roof.

5. Arrangement of a summer kitchen near the fence wall: it remains to add an awning or a pitched roof.

6. Open or closed kitchen made of adobe - a mixture of earth, clay, hay and other improvised materials. True, adobe is suitable for buildings in a hot, arid climate.

And here are some more examples interesting projects finally.

We hope our article inspired you to create the summer kitchen of your dreams!
