  1. The pyrolysis process takes place in the main combustion chamber of the fuel, where it does not burn, but simply smolders. At the same time, it is possible to regulate the supply of fresh air to the combustion zone by closing or opening the vent, through which the air enters the furnace of the device. With such combustion, a large volume of gas is released, which, in turn, is sent to a special chamber, where it burns completely, mixing with oxygen.
  2. But convection is achieved by installing special pipes in the design. They surround the combustion chamber and bring the ends up, through which the heated air enters the room, heating it. Everything happens naturally, that is, cold air from below is taken in through the lower openings of the pipes, passes through the entire pipe structure and exits.

Attention! There is one minus in this design - this is the formation of condensate due to the temperature drop in the chimney. So this problem is completely solved - a special pipe is installed in it, through which the condensate enters directly into the combustion chamber, where it evaporates.

It would seem that such a scheme and device are common for many models of pyrolysis heating units. Even potbelly stoves began to be made according to this type. Of course, there is much in common in all the proposed options, but there are also quite serious differences.

For example, pipes installed in the stove are not just a structure that is placed in an arbitrary form. Here it is necessary to accurately take into account the angle of inclination of each pipe. The assembly sequence of this unit is no different from the installation of gas-generating furnaces. The basis of the device is a metal barrel.

To get a quality unit with safe, economical and efficient heating, follow the instructions below:

  1. Using a grinder, you need to cut off the top of the barrel, smooth out the sharp edges with a hammer and
    bend them down.
  2. In a steel sheet, it is necessary to cut a circle with a diameter of 1.5-2 cm. This is much smaller than the corresponding size of the barrel itself.
  3. In the cut out element, it is required to make a hole with a diameter of 10 cm and weld a steel pipe of the same size to it.
  4. To the bottom of the product, you will need to attach channel sections using a welding machine and install them so that they can move freely inside the barrel. During the operation of the unit, metal beams will put pressure on the fuel.
  5. A damper is mounted on top of the pipe, and the stud is installed strictly vertically.
  6. This element must be fixed by welding. A hole must be drilled on the edge of the valve, cut from steel with a diameter similar to the corresponding pipe size. After installation, the stud should cover the product.
  7. The damper is screwed on with a nut. Installing this element allows you to further monitor the volume of incoming air, as well as the intensity of the device.
  8. The side of the cover must be leveled with a hammer. The edges for a snug fit and fit to the base must be bent outward.
  9. In the lid, you need to make a hole with a diameter of 10.5 cm. To do this, stock up on a chisel.
  10. The pipe must be welded to the pancake and brought out through the hole made in the lid, which must be welded in the future.
  11. For the base of the furnace, you can prepare a not too deep brick platform.
  12. In the upper part of the device case, it is required to cut a hole with a diameter of 15 cm. A smoke channel will pass through it, which is 1.5 times longer than the case itself. On top of the structure, a previously measured pipe segment is welded to the hole.
  13. At the bottom of the device you need to make a small square hole, then weld the door to it. This will be an ash pan - a hatch for collecting ash, where the box is installed for convenience and ease of cleaning.
  14. The lower part of the chimney pipe is carefully welded. It is desirable that the product stands on legs.
  15. An elbow is welded to the channel, a furnace is connected. The design is fixed with a clamp. A fiberglass base is pre-placed under this device for the tightness of all connections.

If there is no barrel, then a fire extinguisher can be used for the base of the furnace, from which the body must be removed. For these purposes, a gas cylinder is also suitable. The device is assembled in the same way.

Furnace installation

The unit can be placed in the center of the room or built into the wall, simulating a fireplace. At the same time, two adjacent rooms will be heated at once.

When installing the furnace, the main condition is the unhindered flow of air. The material must be refractory, and for the base it is better to use a concrete screed. The chimney heats up quickly during operation and start-up of the furnace, therefore it is important to lay a thermal insulation layer between it and the roof.

In the country, you can heat with wood trimmings, but the best fuel for such a design are pellets with high efficiency. The principle of operation of the stove is as follows: smoldering occurs slowly, so the moisture content of the firewood does not really matter. Dry timber will burn in the same way.

The combustion chamber must be extremely tight. Carbon monoxide does not enter the room, so the stove can be placed next to the bed. One bookmark should be enough for 18-20 hours. The Butakov unit will be the best solution when installed in a country cottage with a decent area, or in a country house.

To start the oven, follow these steps:

  • remove the top cover;
  • get the pancake along with the welded pipe;
  • load any fuel material; the main thing is that it be solid;
