Sowing cabbage seeds for seedlings in a greenhouse. Feed the seedlings three times

Hello friends and readers! We all know that cabbage is a very healthy vegetable, tasty and indispensable, which, no matter how you cook it, will turn out to be a wonderful dish. It is indispensable in cabbage rolls, and in borscht it is the main ingredient. It can be stewed with meat, onions and carrots to serve with dinner, or as a filling for pies.

But before that, there is a lot of work to be done: sowing, growing, caring, collecting and proper storage. In this article, I decided to start from the very first link of this chain - to tell you how to grow cabbage seedlings in a greenhouse.

Soil preparation and variety selection

Almost everything depends on how the soil is prepared, in particular, the resistance of seedlings to various diseases. Doing this fall. First, humus and soddy soil are mixed in a 1: 1 ratio. Then ash is added at the rate of 10 tablespoons for every 10 kilograms of soil obtained.

It is rich in useful micro and macro elements, and will also protect cabbage from diseases. Mix everything well. If necessary, soddy land can be replaced, for example, with peat.

Cabbage needs fertile and breathable soil - this is the main condition. You should not take the land in which the cruciferous had previously grown - it is likely that it will destroy the seedlings due to the possible presence of pathogens in it.

The choice of variety depends entirely on what kind of cabbage you need. For example, white cabbage is early ripening, mid-ripening and late-ripening.

 • Early small and gives a very small yield. This is a good option if you need cabbage for yourself and in a small amount.
 • The second is ideal for salting.
 • And the later will be the best for those who need it for a long time, or if for sale. It is also important to remember that the time of sowing cabbage depends on the variety.

Determination of sowing time and seed preparation

It is difficult to determine the exact sowing date, but it may not be necessary if you know the approximate dates.

Experienced gardeners advise sowing early varieties from the beginning to March 28; medium - from 25.03 to 25.04; and late ones from the beginning to the end of April, but always before the 28th.

You can also calculate the sowing date as follows: determine the desired day of planting in the ground, and sow 50-60 days before it.

With cabbage, everything is not very simple, including the preparation of seeds. If some vegetable crops can survive the rejection of this process, then our garden queen never can. If you don't feel like thinking about it, you can buy seeds in the store that have already been processed. This information is indicated on the packaging.

The only thing to do with them is to warm them up. Water is heated to a temperature of 50 degrees, seeds are poured into it and left for twenty minutes. Then you need to transfer to cold water for five minutes. This will be a wonderful prevention of fungal diseases.

Proper sowing and cultivation

Picking is important for cabbage - this is the only way the root system will be strong, and the vegetable, in turn, will be resistant to diseases and pests. So just preparing the land and seeds and ordinary sowing is not enough. However, if there is absolutely no desire to engage in picking, you need to sow immediately in separate containers.

So, everything is ready for sowing, let's get down to the most interesting.

 1. It is necessary to prepare the trays that we will arrange in the greenhouse.
 2. After they are filled with earth, you need to spill it well with water. Cabbage loves moisture, so in the future it will need regular abundant watering.
 3. Sowing is carried out, and after that, for a while, you need to leave the trays alone.
 4. After the emergence of seedlings, they need to be thinned out. The area per sprout should be approximately 2 × 2 cm.
 5. After about 14 days, picking occurs (according to the 3 × 3 planting pattern), and after the same amount of time, the seedlings are transplanted into pots or cups, the size of which will be at least 5 × 5 cm.
 6. For proper growth in a polycarbonate greenhouse, cabbage seedlings will need: additional light ( Fluorescent Lamp), a verified irrigation regime (so that there is no drought and waterlogging), the optimum temperature that will help the seedlings to strengthen (15-17 during the day, 8-10 degrees at night). Often additional heaters are used to maintain the desired temperature in the greenhouse.
 7. Fertilizers are very important: the first top dressing (potassium) - a week after picking; the second (also potassium, but 2 times stronger than the first) - in another two weeks; the third - two days before the expected.

Video: Sowing cabbage in a greenhouse for seedlings

Is it possible to grow cabbage in a greenhouse? Of course, you can, but you just have to make every effort to get a generous harvest in the end.

And then, in the cotyledon phase, they are dived, a box, or better, into nutrient pots, which are tightly set in a warm place and covered with a nutrient mixture. Next, you will learn how to grow cabbage seedlings at home, and what conditions you need to create for this.

The timing of planting cabbage seeds for seedlings is determined based on the fact that 8-12 days pass from sowing seeds to germination, and another 45-50 days from germination to the formation of full-fledged seedlings. Therefore, it is necessary to sow seeds in boxes for seedlings 55-60 days before planting them in. Based on this run in time, it is easy to calculate the required time for sowing seeds.

How to plant cabbage for seedlings so that it grows strong? After germination, the air temperature should not exceed 6-7 °C. This is especially important temperature regime at night. If you can not withstand the temperature regime, then the seedlings will stretch. In this case, at best, you will get seedlings Low quality at worst, she dies.

The reduced temperature when planting cabbage for seedlings is kept for 6-7 days, then it is increased during the day to 15 ° C, and at night - up to 12 ° C. As a rule, seedlings are watered very sparingly with water at room temperature before picking, or not watered at all. Humidity should not exceed 70-75%, that is, the air should be dry.

After 10-12 days, when the seedlings have one or two true leaves, they dive into cubes, pots, cups, boxes or home greenhouse. This picking (transplantation) when growing cabbage seedlings at home is necessary for plants to improve lighting, increase the area of root nutrition, and strengthen the root system.

To do this, pots or cups are filled with the same nutrient mixture as for sowing seeds, the seedlings are watered with a solution of potassium permanganate and begin picking. A hole is made in the soil with a thin stick and seedlings are planted in them, deepening them to the cotyledon leaves. Very long roots are pre-pinched to one third of their length. When planting, care must be taken to ensure that the roots are evenly spaced, do not bend and are well sealed with soil mixture.

Watch the video "Cabbage seedlings at home" to better understand how this agricultural technique is performed:

How to plant cabbage for seedlings at home: growing technology

After planting cabbage seeds for seedlings, the soil is carefully squeezed from the sides of the plant in the area of the roots. At the same time, young gardeners often press not the root of the seedling, but the stem, which cannot be done. All underdeveloped seedlings should be discarded when picking.

Seedlings are watered only as the soil dries out, the water temperature should be 18-20 ° C. After watering, good ventilation is required.

How to plant cabbage for seedlings at home correctly, observing all the subtleties of growing? Remember that excessive soil and air moisture when growing cabbage seedlings leads to its black leg disease and death.

As you can see in the photo, when growing cabbage seedlings at home, about once a week, seedlings should be watered with potassium permanganate water:

If the black leg nevertheless appeared, then you should immediately sprinkle the soil with dry calcined sand with a layer of 1-1.5 cm. If you grow seedlings in boxes without picking, then at this phase of development it should be thinned out at a distance of 5-6 cm.

When growing seedlings in pots or cubes, it is possible to increase the area of soil and air nutrition by increasing the gaps between them in a box by 2-3 cm, which must immediately be filled with soil mixture.

During the first 10-12 days after picking, the seedlings grow very slowly, then their growth is more intense. During the first weeks, 2-3 true leaves are formed on seedlings, and before planting on permanent place already 4-5 real leaves.

For growing cabbage seedlings necessary conditions are:

 • The correct composition of the soil: forest humus, sand, soddy land, peat, free from keel pathogens (check by sowing Chinese cabbage symptoms after 40 days).
 • Optimal sowing dates: for early cabbage - March 20-April 1, for late - April 1-15, for medium-late - April 20-May 1, for mid-ripening - May 1-5. The optimal age of seedlings is 40 days.
 • Thick seeding should not be allowed: the optimal sowing pattern is 4x4 cm or 5x5 cm.
 • It is necessary to organize the illumination when growing seedlings so that the seedlings do not stretch out, do not die and die.
 • It is impossible to overmoisten the soil when growing seedlings, which causes black leg disease.
 • Do not water seedlings cold water- also contributes to black leg disease.
 • Optimum temperature for germination +22-25 °С, after germination +14-18 °С during the day and +12-14 °С at night.

Observing correct agricultural technique cultivation of seedlings of cabbage, a week before planting seedlings in open ground, watering is stopped in order to restrain their growth. Before sampling, the seedlings are abundantly watered the night before. And 2-3 hours before planting in the ground, the seedlings are again plentifully watered. If you grew seedlings in pots, then refrain from excessive watering, as the pots may fall apart.

Seedlings during cultivation must be fed. The first feeding is carried out when the second true leaf appears. Feed with urea (30 g per 10 liters of water), this amount is enough for 2-3 m2. Before feeding, the seedlings should be watered, and after feeding, lightly sprinkle with water to wash the fertilizer solution from the leaves.

The second top dressing is carried out 15 days before planting seedlings in open ground. To do this, 10-25 g of urea and potassium sulfate or potassium chloride are dissolved in 10 liters of water, spending 1 liter of solution per 5 plants.

Very justified for dressing seedlings of cabbage bird droppings. To do this, one part of the fertilizer is poured with 2-3 parts of water and infused for 2-3 days. Then it is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:10, and the top dressing is ready.

Before fertilizing seedlings, the condition of the plants, the conditions for their cultivation and the purpose of the variety should be taken into account. With a lack of light or forced high humidity soil, the dose of nitrogen in dressings should be reduced, and potassium should be increased.

As a potash fertilizer, it is good to use wood ash, which also contains all the necessary trace elements.

Seedling with 4-5 true leaves ready for planting

Seedlings with 4-5 true leaves are ready for planting. And potted seedlings of early cabbage can be planted with 6-7 leaves.

2 weeks before planting in open ground, seedlings begin to harden. To do this, it is taken out into the open air, accustoming not only to low temperatures (5-6 ° C), but also to direct sunlight, gradually increasing the duration of its stay in the open air.

If there is enough good biofuel (horse or cow dung on a straw litter) seedlings of early cabbage are grown in a greenhouse. To do this, in mid-March, a greenhouse is stuffed with horse manure, heated up, a mixture of humus and sod land in a ratio of 3:1 with a layer of 12-15 cm and slightly compact it. Then it is watered with infusion of mullein (1:10) and hot water. When sowing cabbage for seedlings in a greenhouse, it is better to dip the roots in a liquid mash of mullein and clay, which significantly improves the survival rate of seedlings.

Seedlings of cabbage in the greenhouse in the photo

Then the soil is marked into squares with a side of 10 cm. In the center of the squares, depressions are made with a stick, 2-3 pecked seeds are placed in each of them and covered with humus. Then the greenhouse is closed with frames and insulated with mats in two layers.

After 3-4 days, the mats are removed and they cover the greenhouse with them only at night or in severe frost. When seedlings appear, 1-2 plants are left in each well, a mixture of earth and wood ash is added to them in a ratio of 1: 1 to avoid plant disease with a black leg. After 6-7 days, one plant is left in the hole and the earth is poured again.

How to grow cabbage seedlings in a greenhouse, observing the correct cultivation practices? After the appearance of the first true leaf, the seedlings are fed with a solution of nitrophoska and wood ash(10 g of nitrophoska and a quarter cup of ash per bucket of water). After the formation of the second leaf, the plants are fed a second time with the same solution and the soil is cut with a long knife to the depth of the manure along and across the greenhouse, making cuts at the same distance between the plants.

The nursery requires constant care and attention. The soil in it must be constantly maintained in a loose state, weeds must be removed in a timely manner and monitor the appearance of cruciferous fleas.

To get good seedlings, plants need to be lightly hilled. During the growth period, seedlings in the nursery should be fed twice with mineral fertilizers diluted in water (10 g of urea, 20 g of superphosphate and 15 g of potassium sulfate per 10 liters of water).

When growing seedlings under film shelters, special attention should be paid to the ventilation of the nursery and moistening the soil on hot days.

On warm days, the shelter is generally removed from the nursery to avoid overheating; when it gets cold, it is again covered with a film. When sowing cabbage for seedlings and caring for seedlings on cold nights, nurseries are covered with mats or non-woven covering materials made of polymer fibers.

Seedlings should not be overgrown, as they stretch out and take root poorly when planted in the ground.

5 - 6 days before planting seedlings in a permanent place, the soil is again cut with a knife into the same squares. When caring for cabbage seedlings, the air temperature in the greenhouse should be maintained at 15-18 ° C during the day, and 10-12 ° C at night.

Seedlings of mid-season and late-ripening varieties of cabbage in the Non-Chernozem zone can be grown in open field on insulated beds (nursery beds) without picking. To do this, nurseries will be placed in fertile areas protected from the wind, clean from perennial weeds and wood lice. A bed for a nursery has been prepared since autumn, adding up to 100 g of lime and up to 50 g of nitrophoska for digging per 1 m2.

Growing cabbage seedlings in a greenhouse has a number of features, without knowing which it is difficult to get healthy and strong seedlings. In the article, I share my experience of caring for seedlings of cabbage grown in greenhouse conditions.

How and when to sow cabbage in a greenhouse for seedlings

The term for sowing cabbage seeds for each region is different. It is determined in such a way that by the time of planting the plants have reached the age of 60-65 days. I live in Kaliningrad and sow cabbage in a greenhouse for seedlings in the second half of March. And I plant somewhere in the middle of May.

In a greenhouse, cabbage seedlings are grown in two ways: by sowing seeds in containers or directly into greenhouse soil.

In the first case, the substrate is prepared from two parts of humus, one part of good garden soil and one part of sand. For a 10-liter bucket of the mixture, I advise you to add a glass of wood ash.

In the second variant, a mini-bed is formed in the greenhouse. Then 130-150 grams or 200-250 grams of lime, 15 grams of ammonium nitrate, 45 grams of superphosphate and 20 grams of potassium sulfate are added to the soil. square meter sown area.

For a box 35 centimeters wide and 50 centimeters long, you will need about 3 grams of cabbage seeds, and 10-14 grams per square meter of greenhouse.

Seeds are placed in grooves about a centimeter deep and spaced 2 centimeters apart. Use this sowing scheme if you are planning in the future.

When growing cabbage without a pick, the seeds are sown in rows at a distance of 5 centimeters from each other. And between individual seeds leave 2-3 centimeters.

In order for the seeds to germinate quickly, cover the greenhouse soil with a film, and wrap the containers in plastic bags.

Conditions for growing cabbage seedlings in a greenhouse

At a temperature of + 18 ... 20 degrees, cabbage hatches already for 3-4 days. For the full development of seedlings, the temperature on a sunny day should be + 15 ... 17 degrees, and on a cloudy day - + 13 ... 15 degrees, and at night - + 7 ... 9 degrees.

When growing cabbage seedlings in a greenhouse, plants require hardening. To do this, after full shoots, the air temperature in the room is reduced to + 8 ... 10 degrees.

The temperature optimum for the roots is lower than for the aerial part. Therefore, the cool microclimate in the greenhouse helps to obtain super high-quality seedlings.

On a gloomy, cloudy day, photosynthesis in plant tissues proceeds sluggishly. In such weather, it is recommended to keep the temperature 2-4 degrees lower than on a clear day.

Also make sure that the greenhouse is colder at night than during the day. Excessive night heating leads to pampering of cabbage seedlings..

Picking and thinning cabbage seedlings in a greenhouse

Black leg often affects cabbage seedlings with excessive watering.

As soon as cabbage plants the first true leaf appears, they are seated in cups with a diameter of 6 × 6 or 8 × 8 centimeters. If you are growing seedlings in greenhouse soil, remove excess seedlings - bring the distance between seedlings in rows to 5 centimeters.

To prepare the soil mixture, I take three parts of peat and one part of humus. An alternative option is one part of garden land for 3-8 parts of humus. I add 20 grams of potassium sulfate and ammonium nitrate, 50 grams of superphosphate to a bucket of substrate.

Before cabbage seedlings are watered abundantly.

Carry out like this:

 1. The plant is carefully removed from the box.
 2. For better development lateral roots, the core root is slightly trimmed.
 3. The seedling is immersed in a hole 2-3 centimeters deep in the center of the pot.
 4. The substrate is slightly crushed in the area of the roots and hypocotyl knee.
 5. Repeat steps 1-4 for all cabbages and lightly water the potting mix.

For 2-3 days, seedlings are placed in a semi-shaded and warm place.

Caring for cabbage seedlings in a greenhouse

It is also convenient to grow cabbage seedlings on a warm bed.

When growing cabbage seedlings in a greenhouse, they need occasional but generous watering. Plants are watered every 7-10 days in the morning. After that, the greenhouse is ventilated to prevent an increase in air humidity above 60-70%. Raw air - main reason seedlings affected by fungal diseases.

The first time the pickled seedlings are fertilized when there are 2-3 true leaves on it. To do this, 20 grams of ammonium nitrate, 40 grams of superphosphate and 10 grams of potassium sulfate are dissolved in 10 liters of water. Each seedling is given 2-3 tablespoons of top dressing.

The second top dressing is done 10-15 days after the first. The rate of ammonium nitrate is increased to 30 grams, superphosphate - up to 60 grams, and potassium sulfate - up to 20 grams. Under each plant contribute 100-150 milliliters of top dressing.

Cabbage seedlings in a greenhouse need preplant hardening. It is designed to accustom spoiled plants to the harsh realities of open ground.

Hardening procedures begin 14 days before the planned landing. The first 3-5 days the greenhouse is heavily ventilated. And 10 before planting the seedlings in the garden, they remove the frames on the greenhouses or partially remove the roof on the greenhouses.

Seedlings of kohlrabi cabbage in a greenhouse

It is desirable that the plants are regularly exposed to direct sunlight. But you need to make sure that rain does not fall on them - a week before planting, the number of waterings is drastically reduced.

To mitigate the stress experienced by seedlings during transplantation and immediately after it, the day before work, the cabbage is fed with mineral fertilizers with high content potassium. To do this, 60 grams of potassium sulfate, 40 grams of superphosphate and 20 grams of ammonium nitrate are added to 10 liters of water and 100-150 milliliters of solution are consumed per plant.

High-quality seedlings of early white cabbage at the age of two months should be 20-25 centimeters high and have 6-7 dark green leaves.

If you are growing cabbage seedlings in a greenhouse not for sale, I advise you to halve the concentration of mineral fertilizers in dressings. On chernozem and fatty soils, you can do without "mineral water" at all.

And to speed up the adaptation of seedlings to open ground conditions, just feed them the day before planting with an excellent natural potassium fertilizer - wood ash.

When growing any seedlings, it is important not to make critical mistakes, which I described in the article - "".

From time immemorial, cabbage has been a favorite crop for summer residents, although it is quite capricious and constantly requires attention. It is from fresh cabbage that delicious, rich cabbage soup is obtained, and how healthy a snack from sauerkraut with cranberries! The variety of cabbage varieties has increased the number of recipes for diligent housewives. Along with the traditional white cabbage, they grow Chinese, Savoy, colored, Brussels, Peking and even a storehouse of minerals and vitamins - broccoli. It has long been noted that all varieties of cabbage are very moisture-loving, but, although they are not afraid of cold weather, low temperatures can destroy them. In order for the harvest to be generous and the heads of cabbage to be tight, it is advisable to grow cabbage in a greenhouse where ideal conditions for the demanding vegetable.

If you decide to choose "early ripening" for planting, you should pay attention to the most popular varieties among summer residents:

 • "Number one K-206" grows in 120 days and yields 30-40 kg per 10m². Heads of cabbage ripen at the same time, they are small in size, medium density, rounded and weigh up to 2 kg. The leaves grow in small rosettes. The stump is short. The variety is recommended to use in salads, fresh. In areas of the north-west of the country, during a protracted spring, shooting is possible.

"Number one" should be harvested on time, otherwise the heads of cabbage will be covered with cracks, and the quality of the product will decrease

 • "Golden hectare 1432" ripens in 110-130 days from the moment of germination, a little later than "Number One". A couple of weeks after the appearance of the first decorated heads of cabbage, you can harvest the entire crop. This variety is not prone to cracking. Heads are white, rounded, medium density, their weight reaches 3 kg. The socket is larger than that of the "Number One". The stump is medium - 7-18 cm.

"Golden hectare 1432" is suitable both for fresh consumption and for fermentation

 • "Ditmar early" grows earlier than other varieties - 50-70 days after planting, and this is much earlier than "Number One". Differs in high marketability of heads of cabbage and friendly productivity. The shape of the heads is round, slightly flat, the density is medium. Average weight- one and a half kilograms. From 10m² you can harvest 30-40 kg of crop.

"Dietmar early" and other early ripening varieties are recommended to be grown in greenhouses

Chinese cabbage in a greenhouse

Beijing cabbage is early ripening, and planting it in a greenhouse guarantees very early ripening. Growing up, it forms a rosette of leaves, in other words, a loose head of cabbage. After 20-40 days from the moment of emergence of seedlings, it is already possible to harvest.

Seeds have the ability to germinate even at 4-5°C, although optimal conditions cultivation - 16-18˚С. loose fertile soil allows the full development of the root system. Usually 1 or 2 g of seeds are sown per 1 m². Until shoots appear, the temperature should be about 20 ° C, then it is gradually reduced to 10 ° C. Further, the temperature indicators depend on the time of day: up to 16˚С at night and up to 22˚С during the day.

If seedlings are used for cultivation, then they are taken at 20 days of age and placed in the ground, taking into account the feeding area of 20x20 cm.

Note!
Beijing cabbage is used in greenhouses to compact tomatoes or cucumbers. In this case, the soil should be carefully fertilized, with 30 g of superphosphate per 1 m², 4 kg of humus, use ammonium nitrate, potassium chloride. During the growth process, 1 or 2 top dressings are carried out with ammonium nitrate, potassium salt. The temperature regime remains the same as that of the main culture.

Growing cauliflower

Cauliflower is one of the most demanding crops. She needs not very high temperature and high humidity, since in other conditions the formation of heads is disturbed.

The aisles of cauliflower are filled with dill, lettuce, radish, sowing them in rows, the distance between which is 10 cm

Seedlings are placed in greenhouses in March or early April, planted in two rows, the distance between which is 60 cm. The age of the seedlings should not exceed 45 days, otherwise it will not take root well.

Regular plant care includes the following operations.

Heads are harvested before they fall apart. By the way, healthy plants with powerful leaves are able to re-harvest if you carefully cut off the first head. Leave 1-2 strong shoots, the rest are not needed. Watering and fertilizing are carried out as usual. If you properly care for the plant, you can get heads up to 500 g in weight.

Growing broccoli in a greenhouse

This plant is able to tolerate low temperatures, even frosts, therefore, in middle lane it is often planted in open ground, in beds. In the regions of the Non-Black Earth Region, broccoli seeds are sown in greenhouses as early as March. Shoots appear on the 3rd or 4th day, and after 10 days 3-4 true leaves grow.

Broccoli heads cut early in the morning last longer

If seedlings are taken, then planting takes place at the end of April. The temperature in the greenhouse should not exceed 18°C during the day and 12°C at night. It is recommended to plant plants 35-40 days old, with 5-6 true leaves.

It is important to properly prepare the area allotted for planting broccoli seedlings. Since autumn, it has been dug up, limed and fertilized: 30 g of superphosphate, 5 kg of manure, 20 g of potassium salt, 25 g of ammonium nitrate - per 1 m². In the spring, you can also effectively fertilize the soil, compost or humus, superphosphate, garden mixture, ammonium nitrate are suitable.

Broccoli care is traditional: loosening, timely weeding, hilling, watering to a depth of 40 cm. Even before the flowers bloom, the central heads should be removed so that they do not become loose and tasteless. Cutting heads 10-20 cm in diameter, they also grab a 10-cm part of the stem, which is also edible. After 2-3 weeks, slightly smaller offspring ripen - up to 6 cm.

White cabbage

First, seedlings of white cabbage are grown, and then they are transplanted into a greenhouse. The yield of plants depends on the quality of seedlings.

Can't stand cabbage acidic soils, so they should be neutralized with lime

 • Growing seedlings

Experts recommend using biofuel greenhouses, in which case you can start seedlings from March. Some summer residents arrange home-made steam beds: a pit 30 cm deep is covered with biofuel and a layer of soil, and covered with a film on top.

Sowing is carried out in the ground warmed up to 20 ° C, having previously prepared the seeds: the largest of them should be kept in warm water (50 ° C) for 20 minutes, quickly cooled, dried and treated with a solution of nitrophoska. When the seeds are sown, the greenhouse is closed and insulated. Approximately on the 4th day, the first shoots will appear, therefore, during the day the shelter must be removed. Picking occurs when the seedlings hatch the first leaf. After that, the temperature in the greenhouse should be 10-12˚С.

“Correct” seedlings are strong, a clod of earth is braided with roots

Top dressing of seedlings should be done carefully so that the leaves of the plants do not suffer from fertilizers. Watering is moderate, without waterlogging, better in the morning.

 • Relocation of seedlings to a permanent place

Before transplanting seedlings, the greenhouse should be ventilated, leaving the windows open around the clock. There are requirements for seedlings: the presence of early varieties 3 leaves, later - 5 leaves. In addition, it must have a sufficiently developed root system. The stem of healthy seedlings is lilac-green. When transplanting seedlings, do not shake the earth from the roots. After about 8 days, the first watering should be done when the plant takes root in the greenhouse.

 • Caring for cabbage in a greenhouse

Balanced fertilizers for cabbage contribute to its full development

The main condition is to observe the temperature regime and not overheat the plants. In addition, they need to be watered regularly, fertilized with nitrogen and potassium, and do not forget that cabbage does not tolerate shade - it develops correctly only with an abundance of light.

Proper care is a guarantee high yield

Whichever variety you choose, growing cabbage in a greenhouse is much easier than growing it outdoors.

Water the cabbage and take care of it and it will thank you with a generous harvest.

If you properly prepare the seedlings and follow the principles of growing cabbage, you are guaranteed a stable and rich harvest. Do not forget folk wisdom: cabbage loves water and good weather.

Finally, I take the quality of seedlings - they are strong, stocky, take root earlier, develop faster, and are less affected by diseases. Well, to cope with a large amount of work, I grow only cabbage, cucumbers and tomatoes.

How to grow cabbage seedlings?

A few years ago I had to leave the greenhouse complex, where I worked as the chief agronomist for almost 30 years. There was no opportunity to learn a new profession, look for a new job, and I decided to use my agricultural knowledge and experience on my own personal plot.

Above the ridge we make a greenhouse with a height of at least 30 cm and sow the seeds. From above, we cover the greenhouse with additional insulation, for example, with an old blanket. When the first shoots appear, we begin to harden the seedlings, removing the film shelter for the day. After the appearance of the first leaf, the seedlings will need to be thinned out and the temperature in the greenhouse raised to + 12 ° C. After the appearance of 2-3 leaves, we intensify watering.

On the frame, above the shelves for pots and hanging baskets, we will fix non-woven material for additional heating and save seedlings in case of frost.

The sprouts are cold-resistant and tolerate even a five-degree frost, but before the emergence of shoots we maintain a temperature of +20 degrees, after that we reduce it to +10. Savings on heating are significant!

Growing seedlings in a greenhouse: comfortable conditions and rational technologies

I should note that the places we have for gardening are quite difficult. Vegetable crops are known to be demanding on soil fertility and need watering. In our region, the soil is poor. My plot of 40 acres is located on a high bank. A significant part of it descends steeply to the river, on the northern slope the fertile layer does not exceed 5 cm, and under it there is sand. Plus, the water is deep. In early spring, there is still moisture in the soil, but in May, the plants are already suffering from drought.

It is best to water white cabbage seedlings early in the morning.

In a dark corner, let there be a barrel of manure or grass and release carbon dioxide during fermentation, which accelerates growth.

 • Beijing cabbage is also valuable in vitamins, calcium, iron. We grow cabbage at a temperature of 17°C: its seeds germinate well even in this coolness, but with generous watering. And after 20 days, we plant the cabbage on the site - and this is what growing seedlings of early cabbage in a greenhouse is all about.

The opposite side can be covered with black polyethylene for the same purpose of insulation.

Let's choose flat area land.

First, we will distribute the landing sites of each crop, and in the fall we will prepare the soil in ridges and boxes - this is a well-drained, fertile land. Many summer residents optimally use the premises at the same time for sowing cold-resistant vegetables - they do not interfere with seedlings, and later play the role of compacting crops.

 • When choosing the time for planting cabbage for seedlings, one should proceed from the vegetable variety. Early ripe varieties cabbages that are able to ripen in early July are sown in late February or the first decade of March. Medium and late-ripening varieties should be sown at the end of March. But these are only approximate dates. When sowing cabbage seeds for seedlings, the climate in the area is also taken into account. Agrotechnicians recommend sowing cabbage 50 - 60 days before the intended planting of seedlings in the ground.

 • On the other hand, the site warms up quickly in spring, all year round well lit and from all sides where by a copse, where houses are protected from the winds, and Bottom part slope - the floodplain of the river - a great place for cabbage and cucumbers. This is what I took into account when organizing my farm. Since there were no significant funds for its arrangement, at first I managed with a small greenhouse and grew seedlings of cabbage in the floodplain. It is not far to carry water for irrigation here, and enough silt and manure residues have accumulated over the many years of the existence of the village.
 • Now you need to start feeding cabbage. To do this, we use a mixture of nitrogen, potash fertilizers and superphosphate. The second feeding is carried out only nitrogen fertilizers. Before planting seedlings in the greenhouse, the third fertilizing with nitrogen, potash and phosphorus fertilizers is carried out.
 • Mulching with grass strengthens the roots, prevents overheating of the soil. In addition, rotten grass becomes a valuable fertilizer.

Cauliflower, valuable for calcium, potassium, nitrogen, phosphorus, requires abundant organic fertilizer. Therefore, on March 1, we will put the seeds in peat cubes.

Types of shelters

So that the sprouts do not stretch up and the stem does not become thinner.

 • 2 side walls - 2 shields: along a frame of 4 boards and perpendicular to them 2 more boards.
 • There is little space at the top of the pyramidal greenhouses, and the air sinks down to the plants. The price of this pyramid for seedlings is minimal. Such a greenhouse can be rearranged to a new place.
 • We stretch the film on reinforcing arcs stuck into the ground a meter apart from each other, fixing it with bricks and boards.
 • Using the greenhouse rationally, from March 10 to May 1 we are engaged in cabbage shoots, then until August 20 we collect cucumbers, and for the next 2 months - radishes and lettuce. In a heated spring greenhouse, we sow seeds already on March 1, and in 2 months we get excellent sprouts. Then, until August, we collect a crop of cucumbers in this shelter.
 • Sowing cabbage for seedlings is done in boxes or cups. pledge good harvest in the future there will be the quality of the seed, so large seeds should be selected. It is recommended to dip the seeds in hot water (+45 ... +50 degrees) for 20 minutes, and then hold them in cold water for a couple of minutes. Seeds are covered with a layer of soil no more than 1 centimeter. Immediately after planting, the seedlings are watered, further watering is carried out as the earth dries up. The optimal temperature in the first week is + 6 ... + 12 degrees.

in February and March. I do it at home - it's warm there, 5-10 boxes do not take up much space (2-5 sq.m - 10,000 seedlings), it's easy to organize their illumination with lamps, for example, "Reflax". When the seedlings grow up, I dive them into boxes with a mixture of sand (I prepare it near the river) and sawdust. By this time, the soil in the greenhouse is warming up, and I arrange boxes of cabbage in the beds. After the cabbage grows up, I dive it again. It is important to form a branched root system of plants. Therefore, I regularly move the boxes to tear the roots from the garden, spend mineral supplements(organic contribute to the development of diseases), I regulate night and day temperatures with the help of vents. At the end of March, I transfer medium and late-ripening varieties of cabbage from winter greenhouses to spring ones, in which I first loosen the soil.

Greenhouse-hotbed

To protect the slope from destruction by rain and wind, he placed a garden on it. The sand from the landing pits was put on the paths, the aisles were tinned. I made two shafts 30 cm high along the main alley and three of the same across the site from branches, mowed grass, manure, household waste and turf to trap moisture. My trees are planted according to the scheme 5x6 m, so it is light in the aisles of the garden, in them I grow seedlings in boxes and sow vegetable greens, when watering and feeding them nutrients and moisture that has seeped into the depths goes to the trees.

When 4 leaves are formed on the seedlings, the seedlings are transplanted into the greenhouse. Before this, the plants are thoroughly watered. It is not necessary to clean the roots from the ground. If you're going to use only a portion of the seedlings, choose those that are greenish-purple in color. Plants with light green stems may not take root in a greenhouse due to a poorly developed root system. Observe intervals between plants of 30-40 cm. The first watering of cabbage in a new place is carried out no earlier than a week later.

 • We thin out after the appearance of true leaves, leaving the seedlings 2 cm apart, then water them.
 • We can also provide +16 degrees comfortable for cabbage in a greenhouse - and the problem of how to grow cabbage seedlings in a greenhouse will be solved easily.
 • Airing, maximum lighting, fertilizing the soil, loosening it and watering it will give us hardy seedlings of pepper.
 • Top: upright boards protruding 60 cm.

Tip! Before sowing seeds in the ground, we will bury a bag of hay for bioheating.

 • With flags, we mark the rows across the greenhouse 20 cm apart, marking the crop variety with a marker.
 • In winter greenhouses, experienced farmers still make 5 turns:
 • Shoots appear quite quickly - on the 3rd - 5th day. A few days later, the boxes are identified in a warm place. The appearance of the first true leaf is a signal for a dive, while maintaining a distance between seedling bushes of at least 6 cm. To preserve the root system, it is better to use nutrient cubes or peat pots. The soil mixture is prepared from peat (7 parts), humus (2 parts), soddy soil and mullein (1 part of each component). A well-packed mixture is cut into small layers, each about 6x6x6 cm in size. You can also use traditional cardboard or plastic cups, filled with the above earthen mixture, but when growing seedlings of early cabbage, nutrient cubes allow you to get mature heads almost 2 weeks earlier, due to the integrity of the roots of the plant.

I take the vacant place with tomatoes.

Four years ago, I was lucky - I managed to buy industrial greenhouses decommissioned for scrap metal literally for a penny. Of these, I assembled with my own hands two winter and four spring greenhouses, connected by a vestibule, the entrance is common. I put them parallel to each other on a slope so that the sun would receive more. On metal rails, the film did not hold well, it was torn off by the wind. rubber seals and there was nowhere to buy fasteners for coating (there are no such structures left in the region and they are no longer produced). I had to sheathe all the racks with bars. I got them for free - I took them in a landfill near the sawmill, where I buy sawdust and shavings for stuffing ridges and preparing a substrate for seedlings.

The device of the greenhouse-pyramid

In the greenhouse, it is preferable to grow early cabbage. These are varieties such as Ditmar Early, Golden Hectare 1432, Number One K-206. Seeds are sown in a greenhouse in the first half of February, and transplanted into a greenhouse in early April. Some experts suggest sowing seeds as early as December, and then lighting up the seedlings with special lamps. The technology of growing cabbage is to ensure the required air temperature in the greenhouse - 15-20 ° C, maintaining high level humidity and light. Once every two weeks, the soil needs to be loosened and fertilized with a solution of manure.

After half a month, we thin out again, now leaving 4 cm between them.

 • Pay attention! From seedlings to the first fruits - peppercorns even in the most early maturing varieties- almost 5 months, and only seedlings will bring this product closer to the middle of summer.
 • We cut the rafters in the corners.
 • 2 weeks after shelter, we control the temperature under the film.
 • Cucumber seedlings from December 25 to January 31;
 • A week after picking, containers with seedlings are placed in a greenhouse and fertilized. It is preferable to feed with manure or bird droppings. It is possible to use urea or ammonium nitrate. It is recommended to maintain a temperature of +14…+18 degrees in the greenhouse during the daytime, +7…+10 degrees at night. If the temperature in the greenhouse is too high, it is required to ventilate the room, but at the same time exclude drafts. In warm weather during the day greenhouse frames you can open for a while.

Tomato seedlings

The sides of the greenhouse were covered with an air-bubble film, and the roofs were reinforced. These films retain heat well, and almost no condensation forms on them. The winter greenhouse has one more coating - internal, from the usual polyethylene film. Between the films there is a layer of air 2-4 cm thick. In addition, directly on the ridge with plants, having previously placed arcs along it, I throw a non-woven material.

Pyramid greenhouse with foundation

Before planting cauliflower seedlings in the greenhouse, organic fertilizers are applied to the soil. Seedlings are planted in a permanent place in March, with an interval between plants of 15-25 cm. If the seedlings are placed too close to each other, the cauliflower heads will turn out small. Feeding after two weeks organic fertilizers, the next top dressing - in another 2 weeks. Growing cauliflower involves high humidity in a greenhouse.

 • When the seedlings grow up, we add biohumus, peat, manure-soil in the aisle by 5 cm, ensuring looseness and nutrition of the soil.
 • From above we will cover with polycarbonate or film and fix with slats.
 • The foundation of 3x3 m from pipes with a diameter of 100 mm will be poured with concrete.
 • Optimal greenhouse parameters:
 • Tomato seedlings from February 1 to March 1;

mini greenhouse

In May, seedlings are planted in the beds. The holes are located at a distance of 40 cm. First, about a liter of water is poured into the hole and a bush is planted directly in the mud. To the bottom leaf, the plant is covered with soil.

Like cabbage, I keep it on the table in the house under phyto-lamps before picking, then dive into boxes. While the tomatoes are small, the boxes stand tightly on the paths in the winter greenhouse. In April, seedlings of cucumbers for protected ground are added to them, and in mid-May - cucumbers for open ground. I spear the grown seedlings in cups, put them in boxes and place them on the beds.

 • In the winter greenhouse I put a stove to warm up concrete base, paths and maintaining the desired temperature at night. Since it was not possible to make a tall chimney, I chose the place for the stove taking into account the prevailing southwestern winds. As a result, sparks blow away, they do not burn through the film. In the upper part of the ends of the greenhouse there are vents for airing the plants. But in the heat and for a good hardening of seedlings, these vents are not enough. Usually in such cases, in tunnels and greenhouses, the film is raised and lowered, but I made small windows at the bottom. With inside so that there are no drafts, these windows are draped with non-woven material.
 • Due to lack of moisture, especially when high temperatures, cabbage heads begin to crumble.
 • At +18 degrees outside, we harden the seedlings, removing the film for 15 minutes and increasing the hardening time every day. A week before planting, we reduce the temperature in the greenhouse to outside.
 • Note that the seedlings of annual flowers are more in demand by buyers - they can be transplanted at any stage of growth.

We warm the soaked seeds of heat-loving cucumbers for 2 hours at +50 degrees and plant them in peat pots.

We choose between centuries of proven glass, durable, beautiful honeycomb polycarbonate and many times improved bubble wrap. Vegetable growers - professionals and amateurs have already appreciated this novelty. These materials are almost equivalent in protecting seedlings, but their cost, strength and appearance are different, so we decide for ourselves.

 • In its corners we will install steel corners 80x80x80.
 • Width 1 m for easy weeding;
 • cucumber from March 2 to June 15;
 • Standard seedlings have no more than 5 true leaves;

Coating selection

At the end of April, I dive tomatoes again (20-30 pieces per box). When early cabbage“leaves” the spring greenhouses, I transfer boxes with tomato seedlings to them. As I sell cabbage seedlings, I increase the distance between the boxes so that the plants are well lit. In the winter greenhouse, I put boxes of cucumbers in the vacant place. Thus, in the winter greenhouse until mid-May, I keep seedlings - first cabbages, then tomatoes and cucumbers. Then I place cucumbers or tomatoes in it to obtain products. I plant plants in two rows - it’s more convenient to take care of them.

In winter greenhouses, which operate from late February to November, the roof is gabled, gable, high, and snow does not collect on it, does not push through the coating. Spring greenhouses(for growing seedlings in March, and then cucumbers and tomatoes - in summer) arched. In November from part arched roof, adjacent to the winter greenhouse, I remove the film so that the snow has somewhere to fall.

Features of growing various seedlings

Therefore, the greenhouse should be thoroughly ventilated and the air temperature should not be allowed to rise above +18°C. It is important to cut the heads in time, otherwise they will crumble. In the early stages of cauliflower growth, plants can be illuminated.

Pepper

Greenhouses have excellent advantages:

 • We sow the Shabo carnation in January and look after it until May.
 • A comfortable temperature for their growth is +22 - +25 degrees with a humidity of over 80%. We will attach boards to them - and the base is ready. length no more than 3 m, so that the wind does not break through the film; tomato from June 16 to November 20; when picking, it is necessary to throw out seedlings that are weak, affected by a fungus or without an apical bud; In the spring greenhouse, after I sell cabbage seedlings, in early May, I bring organic matter into the beds - it lasts for a year, and
 • In each greenhouse I made two permanent beds 90 cm wide. The paths are wide (I keep boxes with seedlings and seedlings on them after the first pick). I update the beds in the winter greenhouse every year. In January or February I take off from them upper layer earth and sifted through a coarse mesh. I bring sawdust into the beds, fallen leaves stored since autumn, manure, straw, plant debris, chalk, spill everything with urea, hot water and cover it with the removed earth. Even in early March, the air temperature near the garden, and sometimes in the entire greenhouse, rises to 20 °. Since mid-July I have been using the site between winter greenhouses to collect snow from roofs. In summer it is warm here, there is no wind. On this site, I laid out beds for hardening and growing summer seedlings and for getting greens. The main thing for Beijing cabbage is a large number of moisture. The root system of this plant is quite shallow, so it is not able to consume moisture from the lower layers of the soil. Watering should be carried out regularly. Adhere to the recommended temperature for Beijing cabbage: the ability to grow seedlings at a convenient time and in different quantities;
 • Sage after germination in early March, we dive one by one into a pot, and only in June we will decorate a flower bed with it.

We water very loose soil with organic and mineral top dressing.

cucumbers

We know that each plant has its own planting time.

 • To its corners with self-tapping screws and steel plates we attach edges that converge at the top.
 • height - 15 cm above the future seedlings, i.e. 50 cm
 • Greens from November 21 to December 25 - just in time for the New Year's table.
 • The water temperature when watering seedlings should be 2 to 3 degrees higher than the ground temperature;

Tomatoes

planting cucumbers

 • The quality of seedlings and vegetables depends on the quality of watering. Carrying water up from the river is difficult. Therefore, I bought a decommissioned tank car, repaired it and installed it on brackets above the change house. I fill the tank with a pump once a week. In the vegetable garden, garden and greenhouses, settled and sun-heated water flows by gravity through hoses.
 • at the stage of head formation - 10-13 ° C;
 • save on fresh vegetables at proper care, compliance with technology.

Cabbage

Astra is hardy - its seedlings will not die even with frosts down to -1 degrees. And her picking will provide 400 pieces per 1 sq. M.

After 30 days, the seedlings are ready.

 • We fix them with an aluminum sheet.
 • Thick cellophane is stronger and retains heat longer. Its width is 2 m, together with an allowance for pressing bricks to the ground. The length for a two-meter greenhouse is 3.5 m, and for a three-meter one - 4.5 m.
 • But still, it is the seedlings that give them the lion's share of the profit, because only 1500 dived seedlings will comfortably fit on 1 square meter.
 • Before planting seedlings, for several days, the temperature in the greenhouse should be maintained during the day close to the air temperature outside;
 • To get greens, and after them I grow lettuce. In total, for a greenhouse with an area of 200 square meters, I leave about 500 tomato and cucumber plants. I consider last year successful: I sold it to the population under contracts with local trading enterprises in addition to seedlings fruit trees, seedlings of flowers and vegetables cabbage (up to 3 tons), cucumbers, tomatoes (more than 1 ton), green onions, dill, parsley (including in winter).

Since I grow seedlings for sale, I also have to take care of the container (people come to the market without it). In winter I collect shallow wooden boxes (they are taken out of the market and burned in dozens), milk and juice bags (I cut them into three parts) and the best packaging material - newspapers. Plants do not die in them, the roots do not suffocate, they are not injured, it is easy to moisten the clod of seedlings. I get all this for free, I spend only on updating the film and nonwoven fabric, the purchase of manure every five years and the annual purchase of seeds and mineral fertilizers.

Flower seedlings in a greenhouse

during the day - 17-18 ° C;

For different types, we must create certain conditions in the room by dividing the space with plastic wrap:

 • Marigolds are sown at the end of March, but near the entrance due to their noticeable smell.
 • Only pepper will not become "overgrown" from too early sowing, unlike tomatoes and eggplant.
 • The door is the south face.
 • We use the greenhouse as follows: we sow dry seeds in two-centimeter wet grooves - so they will not suffer from a sudden drop in temperature and will sprout faster. Cabbage will appear first, then tomatoes.

seedling care

Rationally use various designs.

For landing, it is preferable to choose cloudy weather or evening time so that the culture takes root faster;

 • A. Mochalov Ivanovo region
 • I try to save money on everything. Otherwise it is impossible. If you want yours to be bought vegetable seedlings, it should not be expensive, as there is a lot of competition. Complicates the implementation of seedlings and the fact that many gardeners believe that we have "land of evergreen tomatoes". But it's not. It's just that summer residents often buy the wrong varieties and hybrids, while they believe that it is enough to plant a plant, and it will grow by itself. But if you do everything right, then the yield of tomatoes in the open field and in our Ivanovo region will be high.
 • at night - 14-16 ° C.
 • maximum ventilation, dry air, optimal lighting, deep soil and abundant, but rare watering - peppers, tomatoes, eggplants;
 • Ipomoea, petunia, phloxes will be sown in March directly into the manured soil of the greenhouse, and then the seedlings will dive into pots with a diameter of 10 cm.
 • Tomatoes also prefer an average temperature of +25, but low humidity - up to 65%, otherwise they will suffer from phytophthora.
 • Ideal for rapid seedling development

Thinning seedlings

 • In the center we will make beds up to 80 cm high, propped up with boards or slate.
 • Economically growing seedlings in pyramid greenhouses: they are resistant to strong wind and keep warm well. And their shadow does not interfere with the surrounding plants.
 • Capital polycarbonate greenhouse for growing seedlings of peppers, tomatoes, eggplants, salad greens.

Seedling hardening

The landing site should be sprinkled with dry soil on top. This will prevent excessive evaporation of moisture and protect against the formation of an earthen crust;

Conclusion

We sow on April 7 (cabbage planted on the Annunciation, subsequently not afraid of frost) into the greenhouse immediately. There is snow we throw on crops. Maybe more than once. No snow watering warm water. As soon as shoots appear, water only with warm water. We need to cover - we cover. But cabbage does not like hot, so we look at the weather. If the night is not cold, then additional shelter in the greenhouse is not required.

 • In general, if you want the "seedling business" to be successful, you need to take into account various factors. For example, and such as changing the diet of Russians. It used to be "shchi and porridge were our food." Now, in particular, there is no need to ferment cabbage in barrels, and the demand for varieties of cabbage for pickling, such as Slava, has fallen (because it is not stored for a long time). Although in terms of yield, growth rate, and reliability, this is an excellent cabbage. But it has become fashionable to grow original vegetables. For example, varieties and hybrids of tomato with fruits weighing 0.5-1 kg. Therefore, I offer vegetables that have shown themselves best in our region and are distinguished by their unusual appearance or properties. For the same reason, I prefer those seeds that you rarely see or cannot buy at all in stores for summer residents.
 • Beijing cabbage is a cold-resistant plant. When the desired temperature is exceeded, the formation process immediately begins flowering stem. If the temperature regime is violated in any way, this will lead to diseases, and the head simply will not form.

moist air, no drafts, frequent watering, low boxes due to shallow roots - cucumbers.

 • There is no need to feed the sprouts, watering - with cool water strictly under the root.

+20 degrees

We will cover the mini-design with removable beds for seedlings of cabbage, pepper, tomatoes, flowers with glass or films.

Growing cabbage in a greenhouse

White cabbage - seedling preparation

Film option - for the growth of cucumbers, zucchini, cabbage.

In the first days of planting cabbage should be shaded.

Grow up a little - thin out. We land for permanent residence in May.

To always be in the know, I read periodicals on the topic, go to Moscow for seminars and to breeders, when choosing varieties, I focus on the experience of large vegetable farms in our region and the data of the Suzdal state variety plot. It also helps that I am known to many countrymen. They know that I am always ready to advise my customers, I do not grow seedlings for myself separately, but use in my garden some of the same plants that I prepare for sale.

Growing Beijing cabbage in a greenhouse is justified by the fact that this vegetable contains vitamins, calcium, and iron. The more fertilizer the plants receive, the larger the kaput heads will be. 3 weeks after the seedlings have been planted in the greenhouse, they are harvested.

But neighboring plants should not obscure each other.

White cabbage in the greenhouse

Usually growing seedlings in greenhouses lasts 1 month under the following conditions:

Cauliflower

Seedlings must be hardened, periodically airing the greenhouse. +12 - acceptable minimum.

with air humidity

The instruction allows frames made of plastic, wood or metal.

Chinese cabbage

Optimal dimensions: base - 140x140 cm, height - 320 cm.

 • Shoots of cabbage and annual flowers rise rapidly even in the simplest steam pits.
 • An important question is how to grow seedlings in a greenhouse so that it brings real income? And a concrete answer: we will get a successful result by observing the main rules for the coexistence of different species and rationally placing them.
 • I didn't make it last year. Probably poured a lot of water. I had to buy ready-made seedlings.

I grow myself and recommend hybrids (Fx) to buyers: from early white cabbages - Parel, Resistor, Kazachok, Express; for storage - lying, with beautiful heads of cabbage Kolobok, Bloktor, Innovator, Aggressor, a magnificent domestic hybrid Valentina and SB-3 variety. In these cabbages, the seedlings themselves are beautiful, and the roots form powerful and are rarely affected by downy mildew. Of the pickling hybrids, which are stored for up to 5 months, Rinda and Erdeno go with a bang.

Whatever cabbage you plant in a greenhouse, the main thing for these crops is a lot of moisture. Follow the technology of growing cabbage, and the harvest of these healthy vegetables will definitely please you with the quantity and quality.

Nevertheless, growing seedlings for a greenhouse involves its subsequent transplantation into ridges or into deep boxes on racks. It is optimal to plant the seedlings themselves by June 1. After watching the video in this article, we will better understand our topic.

When airing, cold air from the street does not blow directly on the plants;

Construction of winter and spring greenhouses

Not earlier than mid-April and it’s better not at home, but in a greenhouse, greenhouse or even on a bed under a film

Cherry and beef tomatoes are in great demand. The fruits and seedlings of beef tomatoes are 5-6 times more expensive than usual, since fleshy tomatoes, such as the Rhapsody hybrid (220 g), can not only be used for salad and home canning, but also fried, stewed, stuffed. Gardeners also like large-fruited original varieties with yellow and pink fruits of good taste.

We connect the upper ends of the planks, and stick the lower ends a meter apart into the ground.

Tunnel film shelters will protect seedlings of cucumbers in special peat pots, as a regular transplant injures them.

What varieties of cabbage, tomato, cucumbers are better to grow

Advantages of growing seedlings in a home greenhouse:

One month before planting in the garden

Of cucumbers for open ground, I prefer the following: Kozyrnaya Karta, Junior Lieutenant, Matryona, Real Colonel, True Friends, Farmer, Lord. The latter have excellent pickling qualities, the plants bear fruit for a long time, almost until frost, in open ground. But in the greenhouse I keep Emelya. It grows intensively, branches well, gives an excellent harvest, has a strong regenerative ability. Therefore, it should be grown only on a trellis so that large leaves do not obscure the stems and the plant breathes. Zelentsy Emelya is also in demand. They are tasty, sweet, with a smooth delicate skin. These salad cucumbers are especially good in the second half of summer, when the rest become hard and bitter.

How to grow white cabbage in a greenhouse? Exclusively from seedlings. To obtain seedlings, we sow cabbage seeds on fallow ridges. We dig a hole about 30 cm deep in the ground, put biofuel on the bottom, and sprinkle soil on top. We cover the ridge with a film. When the soil warms up to + 20 ° C, seeds can be sown.

The order of growing seedlings for sale

Second top dressing: a teaspoon of superphosphate and potassium sulfate per 7 liters of warm water; 80%

Biological fuel is suitable for heating. Manure, grass, dry leaves, straw or chicken manure shoots will warm. Cut out 4 triangles from the film and connect them with a stapler, glue or press with plates. All of these listed shelters create a favorable artificial microclimate for obtaining a stable and healthy seedling, which then bears early fruits.

The coating easily transmits sunlight and eliminates harmful radiation from entering the greenhouse;

We will plant in the greenhouse in April, I also asked for the first time.) Of course, you have to take into account the tastes of buyers. For example, I grow few savoy cabbage seedlings. This cabbage is very tender, cooks quickly, and keeps well. But they take it reluctantly, because they are not familiar with it. But seedlings of kohlrabi and cauliflower, as well as broccoli, are snapped up. The demand for broccoli is also growing because its heads can be cut almost to frost, the main thing is not to bring them to flowering. If the heads begin to ripen, but there is no desire or time to cook something from them, and freezer does not allow you to prepare broccoli for the future, it is enough just to break off unnecessary heads. Then feed, water the plant, and new harvest lateral inflorescences will ripen in two weeks.

Seeds for planting are better to choose large and dark. Soak the seeds for 20 minutes hot water(not boiling water!), then put it in cold water for 3 minutes and dry it, laying it out on paper. You can also disinfect the seeds with a solution of nitrophoska.
