DIY wooden hallways. DIY hallway with photo: complete instructions

Traditionally, in our everyday life, each room of a living space receives one name or another over time. From them we can easily determine the main functionality and purpose of each small department of a house or apartment. Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, children's room - behind each of these names lies its own separate small world. Today we will talk about the first room, which often has the smallest area - the hallway. This small room greets everyone entering the house or apartment and gives them their first impression of the home. That is why many owners strive to equip the hallway on their own and invest all their talent into it. We will talk about design options for the entrance space and the production of a hallway as an element of furniture in the future.

For a long time, the main element of a small space located directly behind the front door and leading to the rest of the rooms of the house was an element of furniture, which bore the same name as the room itself. We are talking about a hallway as a piece of furniture designed for temporary storage of street clothes and shoes, as well as hats and various accessories. There are many options for making these products. Some are based on natural wood in the form of solid wood or lumber, others assemble them into flat parts made from various artificial wood sheet materials. There are also hallways that are based on a frame and an abundance of various metal parts. Let's take a closer look at the various options and the technology for making them yourself.

This hallway is one of possible options made from edged boards. For its manufacture, narrow slats with a thickness of 20-25 millimeters were used. All parts must be sawed depending on the desired dimensions of the structure and carefully planed with a manual or electric planer. To make the front part of the shoe storage area, you will need three bars 50 centimeters long and 40x40 in rough form. As follows from the attached photo, self-assembly of the hallway is carried out using wood screws. In this case, the screw heads are not painted over, which gives the product some roughness. Surrounded by other products that have a similar combination of parts and form an ensemble with the hallway we are describing, the feeling of roughness is smoothed out.

For storage outerwear The product design includes several metal hangers, and a separate shelf is made for hats. The disadvantages of this hallway include the absence of a mirror that provides visibility to a person preparing to leave the apartment.

Above is an even simpler version of the hallway. It has an increased number of hangers compared to the previous product, but the top and shoe shelves are completely absent. At the same time, the absence of fastening elements on the front side of the product makes it more neat in appearance.

A small hallway that is quite feasible for almost every home craftsman who knows how to work with an electric drill, screwdriver and jigsaw. The material for its manufacture can be either wood furniture panels or chipboards.

Feature independent work With chipboard, when making a hallway with your own hands, it is difficult to obtain perfectly smooth edges of the parts without chipping the laminating coating. To do this, you need to use a high-quality jigsaw and sharp files with medium-sized teeth. Even if these rules are followed, it often becomes necessary additional processing edges of parts with sandpaper. All this is necessary to prepare the edges for gluing them with a special edge tape. In its absence, the cut looks rough and significantly worsens the appearance of the entire product.

The tape is attached to the edge of the parts using PVA glue or using a pre-applied adhesive composition. To increase the setting speed, the edge can be ironed with a non-hot iron through a layer of fabric (in production, special edging machines are used for this purpose). As a rule, the width of the edge is several millimeters greater than the thickness of the sheets. The resulting excess must be carefully cut off with a sharp knife, metal spatula or triangular file towards the plane of the part.

Using furniture panels does not require such a large number of additional operations. It is enough to cut out the parts for the future hallway according to preliminary markings and clean them with sandpaper.

The parts obtained from one or another material are connected to each other with self-tapping screws. Shelves are hung on furniture hangers.

This type of hallway combines the entire range of necessary elements, is small in size and is easy to use.

In addition to the above option, a large number of other types of hallways are made from chipboard.

For rooms furnished with furniture made in different styles with a significant number of metal parts, this hallway option may be suitable.

It is compactly located in the available space between two doors and has a large number of shelves for storing various accessories and clothing items. The basis of the design is two chrome-plated steel tubes with a diameter of 30 millimeters and several shelves of the same size. For fastening, two holes of the corresponding diameter are drilled in the horizontal parts in the same places. For greater stability of the structure, it is additionally attached to the walls with four brackets. This product, as an independent product, cannot fully perform the functions of a hallway. It is convenient to use it as an addition to a hanger with a mirror and a shoe shelf made using the same technique.

Currently, the hallway as an element of furniture is being actively replaced by sliding wardrobes installed in rooms of sufficient area. We will tell you about the technology for making them yourself in one of the following articles.

Dear readers, comment on the article, ask questions, subscribe to new publications - we are interested in your opinion :)

DIY hallway: drawings and diagrams

Sometimes the assortment in stores is striking in its monotony. Many apartment owners know that choosing furniture for the hallway is very difficult. If the room is small, then the cabinets simply do not fit into it or fill all the free space. But owners of spacious hallways also find themselves in difficult situation- the presented models do not always meet the needs of the owners and often look big room ridiculous.

If you can't choose matching wardrobe, then don’t be upset and think about creating perfect furniture for the hallway with your own hands. This approach will help you save money and also get a model that suits you in all respects.

Can a beginner cope with such a task? House master"? Yes, the desire and presence of everyone necessary tools and materials will lead you to positive result. Of course, inexperienced craftsmen are better off sticking to the simplest models. But those who have made furniture more than once can create a real work of art.

To make it easier for you to deal with complex work, we have prepared special instructions, drawings and diagrams.

?

First, you should decide on the model and dimensions. If we are talking about a tiny room, then you should not overload it with furniture - use a standard hallway with a small compartment for outerwear, shoes and necessary things.

In the spacious hallway you can place a spacious wardrobe. If the space allows, then such a closet can easily turn into a real dressing room - the dream of every woman. The costs of such a complex project increase in proportion to the size and content of the cabinet.

You may also want to consider an option that is a compromise between capacity and appearance. So, corner hallways visually look much smaller. But at the same time, the greater depth allows you to place a lot of things inside.

By selecting suitable model, you can start taking measurements and preparing calculations. Also be sure that you have all the tools that professionals use.

Required materials and tools

  • saw or jigsaw,
  • screwdriver,
  • sandpaper,
  • construction knife,
  • furniture screws,
  • roulette,
  • corners,
  • loops.

You will also need material for making a hallway. We recommend that you give preference to furniture panels. because it is made from natural ingredients without the use of synthetic resins. Such a shield is completely safe for the health of people living in the house. However, this material high price.

The more common laminated chipboard is popular. It contains bonding resins, which can negatively affect the occupants of the house if the edges of the laminated board are not covered with edging. But at the same time, the material has relatively low price and excellent characteristics (easy to work with).

Do-it-yourself standard hallway: instructions, diagrams and drawings

To make such simple hallway, you will need following materials:

  • loops - 12 pcs.
  • furniture panels - 7 pcs (dimensions 1600x400x18 mm),
  • piece of plywood 6 mm,
  • tongue and groove boards - 2 pcs (dimensions 2000x240x18 mm),
  • furniture handles - 6 pcs.,
  • three-dimensional rail - 1 piece (dimensions 3000x40x12).

We recommend that you start with a pencil case. Its dimensions are 2000x400x400 mm. The corresponding strips are cut out of the furniture sheet, as well as the top cover in an “overlapping” manner. You will also need two shelves. Assembly is quite simple. The slats are arranged parallel and fastened into the lid using self-tapping screws; shelves are also installed. For strength in the corners, the frame is fixed with corners cut from plywood.

Since two doors located one below the other are much lighter than one, this option is preferable. From the shield you need to cut two identical doors and several internal shelves (optional). Secure the doors on their hinges. You can get by with two for each door, but for reliability and proper weight distribution, we recommend using three.

The dimensions of one cabinet are 400x400x820, and the other - 820x400x490 mm. You can refuse any of them without damaging the design as a whole.

To assemble the first cabinet you will need 2 identical sides and an internal shelf that will hold the structure together from below. Top part the future cabinet narrows greatly, so the lid should be noticeably smaller than the main part. All elements are fastened with self-tapping screws. If you wish you can use furniture dowels. Don't forget to pre-drill the holes and use glue.

A door for the bedside table is cut out of the shield; it needs to be secured on two hinges. But for drawer need runners. We recommend that you purchase necessary elements in a specialty store. You can make them yourself from plywood, but in this case the box will be pulled out rather than rolled out, which will make it much more difficult to use.

Making a second cabinet is very simple. You only need two sides and 2 internal shelves that form the frame. The internal filling of this cabinet can be absolutely anything. All parts are attached with self-tapping screws or dowels.

After this, the hallway needs to be assembled. Fasten all the elements together, and then prepare the boards. They should be beautifully located from the edge of the pencil case to the edge of the cabinet, creating the basis for the hanger. Maintain the same spacing when attaching the boards to the underside of the nightstands. To ensure that the upper part of the structure is also strong, fasten the boards with a lath. Place it at such a height that you can later attach coat hooks to the rail. If you wish, you can complement the design with a shelf for hats.

Don't forget to varnish the hallway and attach handles and hooks.

DIY wardrobe: instructions, diagrams and drawings

Making a wardrobe is much easier than it might seem. But first you need to decide exact value this term. “Sliding wardrobe” involves a special design of doors that move on runners along the cabinet body. It can be either built-in or free-standing.

If you wish, you can make the cabinet body from plasterboard and thus hide it in the false wall. But we will look at the classic design of a sliding wardrobe with side walls.

This model with dimensions 2020x625x2320 consists of several main parts.

  • Side racks should be 2288x625 mm high (these calculations take into account the thickness of the sheets of the upper and lower strips - 32mm).
  • Also large parts are the lower and upper strips: 2020x625 mm.
  • The middle vertical posts are inextricably linked to the clothes rail. As a rule, it is mounted at a height of 1900 mm, so standard size for them - height 1900 mm, width 525 mm. The remaining 100 mm is a margin for the normal functioning of sliding doors.

The filling of the cabinet can be anything. It all depends on your desires and preferences, but remember that there should be room inside to accommodate mounting systems.

It is best to order all parts from a carpentry workshop. Even an experienced craftsman will not always be able to cut out elements of the desired shape at home.

After this, you can begin assembling the cabinet. For installation, we recommend using not only screws and dowels, but also furniture corners. The rails are installed inside the cabinet in a specially designated area (those 100mm that we left when preparing the parts). After this, you can put the door back in place and use the cabinet.

DIY corner hallway: instructions, diagrams and drawings

The problem that arises when creating a corner hallway is that it requires careful calculations, the slightest mistake can cost a whole sheet of material. First you need to take measurements and check the walls. If the surface of the walls is curved, then you cannot do without a common frame. Otherwise, the walls themselves can serve as a base to which you can screw shelves. The second option is more economical and simpler, but we will consider a separate cabinet, since it is ideal smooth walls- This very rare.

Select the appropriate drawing. based on the size of the room, the length of the walls and the proximity of doorways. Consider the interior of the cabinet. According to the selected dimensions, make six main body elements:

  • lower and upper bars,
  • back walls (2 pcs),
  • side walls(you can do without them, but the functionality of the cabinet will decrease).

Once you have the frame assembled, you can begin installing interior shelves, baskets and drawers, as well as hooks and rods.

The corner hallway can be equipped with doors on rollers, turning the structure into corner wardrobe. But budget swing doors will also look good.

built-in, with wardrobe, made of wood, photos and drawings

Most pieces of furniture are quite simple in their design, which is quite reasonable. Cabinetmakers trace their craft back several centuries, but the production of furniture on a mass scale began relatively recently. And until this moment, each owner of the house made tables, chairs, beds, and cabinets independently.

You can still make furniture for the hallway with your own hands. Moreover, modern instruments and materials greatly facilitate this process.

What you will need

The furnishings in the hallway are neither ceremonial nor universal; all that is required of it is spaciousness, compactness and a neat appearance. There is a minimum of decoration here. Well, to be honest, decorating furniture is a simple and enjoyable task.

  • Chipboard is the best option for self-made wardrobe or hanger. The material is easy to cut, process, is lightweight and does not require reinforced fasteners or fittings. In addition, chipboard is very affordable.
  • Plywood - although almost the same lightness, is distinguished by its high density and strength. From plywood at home you can make not only curved elements, but also ones with a slotted pattern.
  • MDF is slightly inferior to plywood in terms of strength. An undoubted advantage of the material is the possibility of various processing. MDF can be painted, stained, tinted, and so on.
  • Fiberboard is a material for the back walls of cabinets, cabinets, chests of drawers, and so on.
  • Glass or mirror – assembling a cabinet door from glass or mirror yourself is not such an impossible task. But, firstly, you will have to purchase and cut the profile yourself, and, secondly, glass is heavy, you will need at least one assistant.
  • If the decision is made to make the hallway from solid wood, then furniture panels are purchased in the appropriate quantity.
  • Wooden beam– any frame structure is assembled from timber.
  • Edged boards - pine is most often used, as it is the most affordable wood.

TO additional materials includes plasterboard - for arranging built-in niches, and furniture edgerequired element.

Depending on the type of furniture for the hallway, you will need different types of fittings:

  • guides for drawers and rails for the sliding system, if a wardrobe is being built;
  • door hinges, locks and handles, if you plan to equip a chest of drawers or a hinged wardrobe;
  • hooks for clothes - this attribute is required.

The quantity and quality of fasteners are also selected depending on what exactly is being assembled:

  • nails, screws, self-tapping screws;
  • furniture confirmations and dowels – when assembling furniture you cannot do without wooden fasteners;
  • metal and plastic furniture corners;
  • stubs.

The set of tools is quite standard: a screwdriver, a drill, a jigsaw or wood saw, a key for confirmation, a mallet. If the fastening is done with glue, and this is quite acceptable, then a clamp is definitely needed. To check verticality and horizontality, you will need a square and building level.

How to make a hallway with your own hands

The most critical stages of self-production include taking dimensions. If a mistake is made here, all the rest of the work will go down the drain.

The model of a closet, hallway or chest of drawers is carefully calculated. Can be used finished drawing, if the dimensions are suitable for the hallway. If not, and own experience in drawing business is too small, it is better to contact a specialist and get finished project to the required sizes.

Chipboard, MDF and plywood cutting and edging are offered at most stores that sell this material. This service is relatively inexpensive and will save a lot of time and effort.

Photo of a built-in wardrobe in the hallway, made by yourself

Closet

Making a built-in model with your own hands is both easier and more difficult at the same time. Easier, because some parts do not need to be calculated and cut out. It’s more difficult, since the cabinet is “tied” to the niche, which means the project must take into account the features of the walls and floor.

The level of “embeddedness” can be different. Ideally, this is a niche that is equipped with shelves and a bar with hangers, and a sliding system. Moreover, in this case, the doors are mounted like an interior door - to the wall and to the floor. But much more often, built-in means a closet that occupies a corner of the room. In this case, one side and back wall are missing, and often the floor and ceiling are missing.

  1. The basis of such a product is a wooden frame. For the case described above, two frames are required - front and side, which are assembled with screws or nails. On the frames, in places where shelves and partitions are supposed to be installed, transverse slats are fixed.
  2. The installation location of the frame is marked on the walls, floor and ceiling, and holes for fastening are drilled. On frame structure It is advisable to mark the places of fixation.
  3. First, the front frame is secured to the wall and ceiling with dowels. Verticality is checked with a level. Then install the side one.
  4. Inside the resulting niche, wooden slats for shelves are mounted to the walls. The shelves are cut out of plywood or chipboard. The parts are not secured, but simply laid on the slats. If desired, secure with nails.
  5. The side can be sheathed with ordinary plasterboard, and then pasted over or painted to taste, or covered with laminated chipboard. Here you can install rounded shelves. They are attached to a wooden frame, so the strength of the skin is not important. But if a hanger bar is installed in this compartment, then the side panel is sheathed with chipboard or plywood, since drywall will not withstand such a load.
  6. Last to be installed sliding doors. The upper guides are mounted on the ceiling, and the lower ones - on the floor. It is very important at this moment to respect the dimensions. For reliability, use a mock-up of the door: any part the height of the door, the same sheet of drywall is inserted into the upper rail and, after checking the verticality, mark on the floor the place where the lower rail is attached. In this case, it is really better to measure 7 times.
  7. The sash is inserted into the upper tire under some pressure - the upper rollers allow this, and then into the lower one. The position of the door leaf is adjusted using adjusting screws. The sash should move smoothly and freely.

The described option has no big sizes and a fairly simple device - only two compartments. If the hallway area allows, you can make a much more spacious structure, but in this case it is recommended to assemble the frame from chipboard, not bars, and connect the parts with a common floor or ceiling. The latter method is easier to implement. This design allows you to install not only shelves and a bar, but drawers, clothes lifts, and so on.

In this case, assembly is carried out on dowels - parts with each other, and confirmations - shelves. The holes for them are drilled in advance, and then the cabinet is assembled like a construction set. The work requires not so much qualifications as accuracy and patience: a lot of holes are drilled, and each corner mount must be kept in a clamp for at least a day.

The following video will tell you how to make a built-in wardrobe in the hallway with your own hands:

Regular hallway

The standard option for furnishings in the hallway is a hanger in the form of a shelf or stand with hooks, a shoe rack, a cabinet or a chest of drawers with a mirror, if there is room for it. The main element here is, of course, the hanger.

The most popular and easiest to implement option is wall-mounted. This is a shield - solid or consisting of vertical slats, which is attached to the wall. A shelf for hats is a must. Such a stand is constructed from plywood, chipboard or edged boards - as desired.

  1. At the first stage, the dimensions of the product are determined and the amount of material is calculated.
  2. The material is prepared for work: the boards are cleaned and sanded with sandpaper or a sander. Chipboard is cut to size and edged. The undoubted advantage of chipboard or plywood here is the ability to give the vertical elements different shapes, sometimes very intricate ones.
  3. The boards are opened with varnish. If you are not satisfied with the original color, then first treat it with an appropriate stain.
  4. According to the diagram, the vertical elements are secured to the crossbars with self-tapping screws. The shelf for hats is fixed with confirmations: holes are pre-drilled for them in the boards and at the end of the shelf.
  5. Secure the selected hooks for clothes. It is advisable to place them in two rows: the top ones for clothes, the bottom ones for bags and keys, or, if there are children in the house, for children’s clothes.

Making such a model original is more than simple. To do this, boards or chipboard elements are given an unusual shape, for example: slats are cut out in the form of a picket fence and secured different shapes hooks No less original is the hanger, where the base is irregular shape a piece of wood, like a cut from a trunk, and the hooks are varnished fragments of branches with knots.

In this video you will learn how to assemble a wardrobe with your own hands:

And this video will help you with assembling a radius cabinet for a corridor:

Corner option

Corner module with hooks it is no more difficult to make than a simple wall one. But for the stability of such a structure, it is usually assembled from solid material - chipboard, plywood, and not boards.

The classic model is a module of two parts connected at right angles, with an upper and lower rounded shelf. Rectangular shape undesirable, since the angle visually needs to be softened. Yes, and using such a shelf is inconvenient.

  1. Manufacturing also begins with a drawing, where the dimensions are indicated and the places where the shelves are attached are marked. The latter are installed on confirmations.
  2. Chipboard is cut with a jigsaw or a hacksaw and must be edged.
  3. Holes for dowels are drilled on the front surface of one panel and at the end of the other. At the same stage, holes are drilled for the confirmations.
  4. The dowels are lubricated with glue and the sidewalls are assembled. After drying, the shelves are fixed to the confirmations.
  5. Install hooks for clothes and bags at a convenient height.

If there is not enough space in the hallway, you can attach a mirror to such a hanger by simply gluing it to one of the sides.

DIY corner wardrobe in the hallway

Drawings and photos

Photos various options hallways can be found in unlimited quantities. Unfortunately, it is impossible to judge anything other than the appearance of the models. Drawings are much more informative.

If you decide to use a ready-made drawing, then, firstly, you need to make sure that the dimensions indicated in it are suitable for the hallway. Secondly, on working diagram not only general parameters are indicated, but also the distance between parts, taking into account their thickness. If the material used in manufacturing differs in size, this difference must be taken into account.

The best option drawing - a diagram with a dimensional table, where the parameters of each part are indicated separately, as well as the attachment points are marked.

DIY drawings-photos of hallways

Photos of the assembly stages are a good help. Moreover, in most cases, photos are even more convenient than videos. The main thing when assembling is to understand the principle, and not to observe the process from start to finish. Below you will find photo designs of how you can make a hallway with your own hands.

It is quite possible to make furniture for the hallway yourself. The designs used here are quite simple, and the sizes are usually small. And by showing your imagination, you can always turn a hanger or wardrobe into something unique.

What furniture is needed for the hallway

The main rule for furniture in the hallway is that it should be roomy, compact, and have a neat appearance. There is no need to decorate it excessively. In addition to decoration, it has the function of storing things. You should carefully consider the size, the presence of drawers and cabinets. It’s better if there are more of them, but you need to start from the area of the corridor; there’s no need to overload.

The unusually shaped hooks on the wall, plus the shoe rack, look beautiful.

Looks original, if available large hallway, wooden bench, it will add zest to the interior. A win-win wardrobe option, it will fit into any interior. And a wardrobe, if space permits, is an ideal solution; it is comfortable and roomy.

At small sizes, you should use:

  • built-in wardrobes - take up minimal space,
  • mirrors and light finishes will visually expand the space.

DIY hallway furniture

With the help of the right project, you can transform even a small area, and the hallway will look organic and spacious.

The design of this room should be combined with the interior of the entire apartment. It is acceptable to choose different decor or floor coverings that are different from other rooms, but the stylistic direction should be uniform.

Practicality

When choosing a model, you should pay attention to practicality. If you have a small hallway, you should stop at standard version and choose multifunctional furniture: compartments for things, shoes.

A compromise between capacity and external beauty is a corner cabinet. It looks small, but has great depth, so it is roomy.

If you have a large family, you need to think about a place for the belongings of each inhabitant of the apartment.

The hallway is a room into which dirt rushes from the street. Therefore, it should not be done in light colors, it will quickly get dirty. It is not advisable to carry things such as umbrellas, strollers, bicycles deep into the apartment; it is worth providing a storage system for them in the hallway.

Individuality

Everything that is made with your own hands, including furniture, is always the embodiment of your ideas and desires. You can decorate the hallway to your taste and give it individuality. Such furniture will be one of a kind, and not mass-produced at the factory, and guests will be surprised by its exclusivity.

What you need for work

Having chosen a model and made a drawing, you should prepare everything that is needed for the work: material, fittings, tools.

Depending on the type of furniture, different fittings are needed:

  • wardrobe - guides for drawers, rails for the sliding system;
  • cabinet with hinged doors - hinges, handles, locks;
  • hooks for clothes.

Tools

You should stock up on the following tools:

  • saw or jigsaw;
  • screwdriver or screwdriver;
  • sandpaper;
  • with a knife;
  • screws;
  • tape measure;
  • corners;
  • loops;
  • plugs;
  • special wooden fasteners;
  • with a pipe pipe

This is a basic set that can be useful in making furniture.

We make the hallway ourselves: choosing the material

The choice of material is important; you should not choose too expensive one. In addition, it should be easy to process and safe for health.

Suitable: plywood, chipboard, fibreboard, MDF, furniture board, edged board, wooden block, drywall - they have a long service life and good quality.

  • Tree. Wood - environmentally friendly pure material, so it's perfect for an apartment. It never goes out of fashion, and furniture made from it speaks of the wealth and excellent taste of the owners. A hallway made of wood will harmoniously fit into any style. You can carve it, thereby adding individuality. Different species are used to make furniture: oak, birch, pine, beech, walnut. The only negative is the high price, but given the long service life, this cost will be well worth it.
  • Furniture board. Made from natural materials, therefore safe for health. Looks elegant and lasts a long time. The cost is high, but below the tree.
  • Chipboard. Chipboard is a common and convenient material for making a hallway yourself. It is simply cut and processed, weighs little, and there is no need for reinforced fasteners. With all the advantages, it is affordable.
  • Plywood...Has the same qualities as chipboard, but is denser and more durable. From it you can make not only parts with curved lines, but also a slotted pattern.
  • MDF. Slightly less durable than plywood. But it has limitless processing possibilities: painting, tinting, applying stain.
  • Fiberboard. It is used only for making the back wall of cabinets.
  • Wooden beam. Designed for assembling frame structures.
  • Edged boards. Relatively expensive material; pine boards are the most affordable.
  • Drywall. Built-in niches are equipped with plasterboard.
  • Mirror or glass. Glass or mirror inserts will decorate any room, and you can’t do without a mirror in the hallway. However, they are heavy and cannot be handled alone.

Choosing a hallway depending on the type of room

When developing the design of the hallway, you need to take into account the characteristics of the room and the number of household members. You should decide on the functional accessories of the hallway so that it is practical and comfortable. With a small area, the beauty of the wardrobe will not be visible and it will look bulky. It's better to choose corner option hallway In addition, there should be enough shelves and hooks for all family members.

The right solution is to install furniture along a long wall.

Regular hallway: instructions, diagrams and drawings

Making a simple hallway yourself is not difficult. It includes: a hanger, a shoe rack, a small pencil case or a chest of drawers with a mirror.

For this you will need:

  • loops;
  • furniture panel;
  • plywood;
  • tongue and groove boards;
  • three-dimensional strip.;
  • pens.

The first thing you need to start with is a pencil case. To do this, planks of the required size, a cover for the top (with an overlap) and shelves are cut out of the shield. Assembly is not difficult - the strips are attached to the lid using self-tapping screws, and the shelves are installed in the same way. For structural strength, corners are cut out of plywood and fixed in the corners. A door is made from the shield, which is mounted on 3 hinges.

Now we make the cabinets. If desired, you can make only one cabinet. To make it, you need 2 sidewalls of the same size and a bottom that will connect them to each other. The lid should be made smaller than the bottom. All parts are fixed with glue and screws. Doors are cut out of the shield and attached to hinges. If you have a drawer, you will need runners. You can make them yourself from plywood, but it’s better to buy them (the box will roll out easily). The second cabinet is made according to the same principle as the first.

Now, the whole structure is assembled. The prepared boards are attached to the edge of the pencil case and to the cabinet - this will be the base of the hanger. The boards are connected at the top with a lath for strength. Hooks for clothes are attached to the slats, and a shelf for hats is screwed on top.

The final stage is the installation of handles and varnishing.

Corner option: instructions, diagrams and drawings

It’s easy to make a corner hallway yourself, but to make it stable, you need to use solid material: chipboard, plywood. The module consists of 2 parts that are connected at right angles. In addition, you should decide whether there will be a frame or the walls themselves will become the base. If the walls are smooth, then you can do without a frame; attach the shelves directly to the walls - this will be economical.

Manufacturing principle:

  • a drawing is made according to dimensions, areas for attaching shelves are marked;
  • Chipboard is cut with a jigsaw;
  • holes are drilled for dowels on the front side of one panel and at the end of the other, holes are made for confirmations;
  • the dowels are lubricated with glue and the sidewalls are assembled;
  • The shelves are attached to confirmations and clothes hooks.

If necessary, you can attach a mirror to the door or make sliding doors, thereby creating a corner wardrobe.

Custom hallway with your own hands: drawings and diagrams

If you have a non-standard corridor, into which the wardrobe or hallways sold in the store will not fit, you can resort to the original and simple solution. For example, the presence of a bedside table or shoe rack, plus a hanger and a mirror.

You should start with the bedside table. 2 sidewalls of the same size, a base and a lid are cut from a furniture panel. If there are skirting boards, then the corners are cut off from the sides (on one side). Back wall made from plywood. All parts are fastened with self-tapping screws. Runners for drawers and fastenings for shelves are made inside. The doors are screwed on hinges.

A hanger in the hallway is an element you can’t do without. It’s not difficult to make and you can give free rein to your imagination. For lovers of eco-style and everything natural, tree branches are suitable instead of a hanger. Those who prefer country style need a vintage option.

Wardrobe capabilities: instructions, diagrams and drawings

Closet excellent choice for the hallway, can be built-in or separate. If there is a niche, shelves are mounted in it and it is equipped with a sliding system.

The process of making a cabinet with side walls:

  1. A wooden frame is made.
  2. A place for the closet is determined. Holes are made on the walls, floor, and ceiling to fix the frame.
  3. The front frame is attached to the wall and ceiling with dowels, and then the side frames.
  4. The slats for the shelves are mounted inside. The shelves themselves are cut out of plywood.
  5. The sides are sheathed with plasterboard, then pasted over or painted as desired.
  6. Guides are mounted on the floor and ceiling.
  7. The doors are installed - first in the upper tire, and then in the lower one. The doors must move freely, their position is adjusted with screws.

You can make a wardrobe different sizes and models, depending on preferences and room area.

You can really make furniture for the hallway yourself. The models are quite simple and small in size. And if you have imagination, you can turn an ordinary hanger into a one-piece and unique thing.

  • Not every wardrobe in the hallway can be made independently. For example, radius cabinets that are popular today are very difficult to manufacture without the proper skills and experience. Only a professional can design such a cabinet. But simpler designs, the circuits of which do not differ in any difficulties, can be made by yourself.

    Stages of work: DIY hallway cabinet

    The work, of course, is not fast. You need to act according to plan, step by step. Focusing on the plan, you will not miss anything, you will not get lost, you will have a guide to action in front of you.

    Step-by-step work plan:

    • Choosing material for the future cabinet;
    • Determination of content - description and drawings are needed;
    • Door design, including the choice of suspension option;
    • Next, choose the method of hanging the shelves;
    • A niche is being prepared for the built-in wardrobe;
    • Taking measurements, drawing;
    • Purchase of accessories, materials, as well as cuts of blanks;
    • Assembly of the cabinet with installation of internal lighting;
    • External decorative finishing.

    It turns out that the work begins not even with determining the design of the future cabinet, but with the choice of material. After all, the manufacturing principle depends on it, and with different materials will have to work differently.

    DIY wardrobe in the hallway: choice of material

    Wood is considered a traditional and now very prestigious material. But is it suitable for a wardrobe? Judge for yourself, the humidity in the niche, whatever one may say, will be above average, the tree will inevitably begin to warp. Well, the decorative role of wood in the case of a wardrobe is also questionable.

    But if you firmly decide - wood, and nothing else, choose straight-grained wood, without knots, strands and cracks, seasoned and thoroughly impregnated with drying oil, and also WPE (water-polymer emulsion).

    Next view material – plasterboard. It is easy to work with, it is cheap, but you should not forget about the fragility of this material. Still, it is intended for finishing work and cannot be part carrier system. That is, he cannot hold something on himself - something must hold him.

    The most suitable materials are laminate, fiberboard and MDF. These materials include beneficial features wood, but they are insensitive to gradients and changes in humidity. Take medium or high density fiberboard.

    Filling or internal filling The cabinet is its internal layout. Today it is easy to find the best option that will meet all your needs. There are many examples on the Internet - filling options shown from different angles. This is very convenient if you yourself have not yet decided what the filling will be.

    Effective in filling following rules:

    • The raw stuff is placed aside, separately;
    • The necessary and small things should be before your eyes;
    • Place dry items higher;
    • And valuables should be in boxes.

    Let's look at examples. It would be wrong to make a section for outerwear in the middle. Then the dampness will definitely go to the sides. If you make a section on the side, the moisture from the clothes will be directed outward.

    We are drawing up a design for a wardrobe in the hallway

    Of course, the process of creating projects has been simplified - there are many Internet services where, using given values, the program creates a project. You can also take a ready-made project that suits the characteristics of your hallway. But there is another option.

    Rather than ordering a cabinet “from scratch” from one company or another, it will be cheaper to order the blanks to be cut. Many furniture makers today have computer-controlled robots - such an acquisition pays off well. In a word, no matter how equipped furniture workshop, but in almost every city he offers the service of cutting blanks. And this significantly saves your money.

    All the same, furniture makers buy material at wholesale prices, and counting total area, you definitely save 20 percent compared to purchasing the material yourself at retail. There are also discounts on trims. Also, when sawing, we offer a service such as edging.

    Fastening shelves in the structure

    The most profitable way to fix the shelves in this case is with scraps of a simple baseboard. MDF skirting boards come in all sorts of varieties today, in different sizes, textures and profiles. And so that the fastening of the shelves is not too noticeable, take a piece of plinth shorter than the depth of the shelf by about a third. And the end can also be cut off at an angle.

    In the same way, you can attach the upper and lower partitions in the closet (to the floor and ceiling). Just don’t shorten the plinth pieces. If you take ceiling plinth small in size, their ends will be completely covered by the upper and lower guides. Very robust design formed together with shelves secured in the same way. This design will also support the plank floor from sagging (and this is facilitated by the weight of the doors).

    DIY wardrobes in the hallway (video)

    These, of course, are not all the points in making a cabinet, but perhaps the most important. Soberly assess your capabilities, think about maybe entrusting some stages to professionals. And don’t give up on video lessons, which turn out to be very useful.

    Good work!

    When it comes to talking about a homemade hallway, you should understand that we are not just talking about wallpapering without the help of specialists.

    You can decorate a modern hallway yourself if you choose materials and furniture wisely

    You can create a lot with your own hands:

    First of all, do the finishing yourself - it’s the easiest thing. To the very simple options finishing can include painting and wallpapering. Can choose interesting option: wallpaper with photo printing. Huge drawings in the hallway are useless, but an original abstract pattern would be very appropriate.

    Since the hallway, as a rule, is not too large, the current color scheme is light. This also applies to furniture.

    You can use warm contrasting shades to highlight individual parts rooms or the pieces of furniture themselves. You can also make the decor yourself. Original upholstery of a banquette, pots with flowers painted or dressed in crocheted covers, a mirror that is decorated with shells or artificial flowers, and, of course, wicker rugs at the door - all this is very easy to do, does not require large investments and brings pleasure in the making process.

    How to make a corridor in a house if you mess with self-assembly Don’t want furniture at all, especially if there is already furniture in the hallway? It’s not for nothing that they say that changes can completely change the perception of a room. This also applies to the hallway - you don’t have to buy new furniture if you can apply some techniques.

    The main technique is rearranging furniture. For example, you can abandon the closet completely and replace it with vintage hooks for the wall and an original hat. Will take a place at the door large plant in a pot, and you can put a shoe rack next to it. If it is strong enough, then you can place a seat on top, then you can sit on it and put on your shoes comfortably.

    For a hallway, a mirror is absolutely necessary, and preferably a large one. You can spice up your mirror by decorating the frame. And if it is built into the closet, then you can use various stickers. Among the most popular are floral patterns and window imitation.

    The furniture itself can be repainted in a color that suits the style. Wooden furniture can be coated with colored varnish to highlight the texture of the wood, or artificially aged.

    Ideas on how to make an original hallway with your own hands

    Modern apartments or private houses most often have more spacious dimensions in which an acceptable set of furniture can be placed. You can even put a small sofa with leather upholstery - such furniture is easy to wash and clean.

    But, if the hallway is still small, then you can pay attention to other techniques:

    Modular furniture makes it easy to rearrange and combine all items at your discretion. A corner closet with mezzanines will be very helpful - a lot of things can fit there.

    There are also narrow options set of furniture. If this is not critical for a cabinet or hangers, then for storing shoes or a closet, this design will not work - there is too little space.

    And finally, the walls themselves. You can place hooks and fabric organizers for shoes and accessories on them.

    Since the hallway is the place where inevitably there is the most dirt and dust, the materials must be chosen so that it can be easily washed. Some people light shades do not seem too interesting, and therefore designers advise diluting them with bright shades.

    • In accessories;
    • In furniture upholstery;
    • In highlighting some parts of the interior.

    Very often the front door is painted bright color– the interior then looks bright and lively. But the main accents are in the accessories - bright vases, textiles, figurines, watches. This list can be continued for a very long time, the main thing is not to overload the hallway with these details.

    Furniture upholstery plays a very important role when it comes to a pair of chairs and a shoe rack. You can choose absolutely any material. The only thing that the hallway does not tolerate are carpets and carpeted surfaces.

    It's worth returning to the furniture. Correct arrangement plays a very important role.

    To do this you need to know a few rules:

    • Do not clutter the space near the door;
    • It is better to move the closet deeper into the room;
    • Instead of a cabinet, you can use a closed shoe rack;
    • Corner furniture saves space.

    Most pieces of furniture for the hallway are easy to make with your own hands. To begin with, you need to decide on the materials.

    The championship is held, of course, by wooden configurations. They are quite durable, do not deteriorate, look aesthetically pleasing, and can be easily repainted and decorated.

    Wooden furniture is not so easy to purchase, as it is very, very expensive. Another thing is specialized furniture panels, as well as chipboard sheets. The former are also not very cheap, and they are not easy to find, but the latter are common and are reasonably priced.

    Additional tools you will need:

    • Loops and corners.
    • Tape measure and pencil.
    • Furniture screws.
    • Sharp knife.
    • Sandpaper.
    • Jigsaw or saw.
    • Screwdriver or screwdriver.
    • Decoration Materials, if needed.

    Custom hallway with your own hands: drawings and diagrams

    You need to start the work yourself with a simple cabinet. It is necessary to determine the height, and cut out 2 identical sidewalls from the shield at this height. If there is a plinth, then a small corner is cut off on one side. You need to do the same on top so that the lid is narrower. Then fasten the sidewalls with two bases, and the lower one should not be near the floor, but higher, then the gap can be masked with a dowel. The back panel can be made of plywood.

    The door should be such that the box fits above it. Make holes and attach the door with hinges. Make runners for the box from plywood. Make from plywood bottom part, and the front one should be a little larger. Cut out the lid and place it on glue. Secure the box with self-tapping screws.

    Making furniture will require:

    A cabinet with two doors is made differently. You need to assemble a box of four bases, no lower than a one-door cabinet. Fasten with self-tapping screws. Inside, make runners for drawers and mounts for shelves if desired. The back panel should be made of plywood. Cut out the doors and attach them with hinges. Secure both lids with dowels.

    The cabinet needs 2 large sides. Cut out the bottom, base (top) and central shelf for them. Cut out 2 identical doors. Attach to the cabinet. The back wall is also made of plywood. Arrange drawers and shelves inside as desired.

    Cut several identical boards for the hanger and fasten them with a horizontal strip. Attach a shelf for hats on top along the entire width. Attach the hooks and hang them on the wall with self-tapping screws. Cover everything with varnish and decorate as desired. Go for it!

    Assembling a double-leaf cabinet

    A double-leaf cabinet for the hallway is also necessary; it usually accommodates most things, shoes, bags. Any scheme can be used for assembly. One of them is shown in Fig. 1. It is important that the piece of furniture is as comfortable as possible.

    You can assemble a cabinet with two doors:

    • height – 400 mm;
    • depth – 490 mm;
    • length – 820 mm.

    You need to start by assembling the frame. First, the side walls, a partition in the middle of the cabinet and the top lid are attached to the bottom. If additional partitions will be used for two separate parts, then it is necessary to immediately place boards under them, since this will be problematic later. A plywood sheet with a laminated surface is nailed to the back. For fastening, screws and wooden dowels are used. If necessary, drawers are installed for the cabinet. The doors are installed last, but for them you must first provide hinges of the selected type.

    Installation of a cabinet model "pencil case"

    Figure 2. Drawing of a wall with hangers for the hallway.

    One of the main pieces of furniture that is ideal for a hallway is a pencil case. This is a tall wardrobe, quite narrow, it can only include horizontal shelves for storing things. The second option is a design that has a top shelf and drawers, and the main space is given to a hanging bar.

    Usually cabinets are placed near large cabinets. Ideal sizes:

    • height – 2000 mm;
    • width – 400 mm;
    • depth – 400 mm.

    The cabinet can be divided into 2 compartments, with a partition in the center. In one part of it there is usually a row of horizontal shelves, and in the other there are hangers for clothes. First you need to assemble the body for the future cabinet. To do this, connect the bottom, 2 walls and the lid with furniture screws. A partition is installed immediately, as this will be problematic later. For additional fastening, wooden dowels are used; they are coated with glue.

    The next step is to attach the back wall; furniture nails are used for installation. Next, markings are made for the shelves, holes are drilled for special fasteners, the shelves themselves are installed, and a bar is hung under the hangers. If necessary, drawers are installed. When the cabinet is completely assembled, the door hinges are fixed. To install them, holes are made with a milling cutter about half the size of the wood. When the cabinet is ready, handles, locks and other decorative fittings are attached.

    Installing a wall with hangers

    Next, a wall is placed and hangers will be attached to it. It is mounted next to the front door. An example can be seen in Fig. 2. It is best to place low cabinets for shoes under the wall. To make the wall, ordinary boards are used, their number depends on the width future design, required quantity hooks Usually one hook is attached to 1 board of small width. The boards are connected to each other by a metal frame.

    The first to gather metal carcass. The top bar provides a system for fastening to the wall. Loops are usually used for this. The structure will be fixed to the wall with anchors. If necessary, a frame for a horizontal shelf is mounted above the wall. After assembling the frame, you can begin finishing it. Typically, pipes are painted with anti-corrosion paint, the color of which matches the main shade of the entire kit.

    The boards for the wall are selected to be the same size; the top ones should have a length equal to the width of the wall itself. The boards are processed and sanded if necessary. After this, holes are made in them for fastening to the frame. The boards are designed in full accordance with the appearance of the rest of the furnishings. The coat hooks are attached last. They can be different, but it is better to choose those that will fit the handles and hinges.

    This DIY built-in mudroom is made to take advantage of the extra shoe storage provided at the back of the shoe rack.

    Thus, our shoe rack is both a comfortable seat and practical shoe storage. Open shelves store frequently used shoes, and the back section stores shoes we use less frequently. These closed sections of the shoe rack are convenient to use, for example, for work shoes or for drying wet shoes. In the upper part, our hallway is equipped with a convenient wooden shelf, to which is attached a bar with hooks for clothes.

    DIY hallway. Stages of work.

    Before starting work, prepare tools and materials. Free up your workspace so that nothing interferes with your work on the hallway. Always use smooth wooden boards without visible damage. Check the clarity of the right angle after each fastening. Always pre-drill a hole before using screws. Use glue in combination with screws (confirmat) for a stronger connection. Carefully wipe away any remaining glue, as dried glue will not be colored when finishing with paint. Always remember to work safely and have fun. If necessary, ask for help from more experienced friends.

    1. DIY shoe rack.

    Because The hallway is built-in, then the width of the shoe shelf will be individual for you. All dimensions in the drawings are in inches. You can convert inches to cm online by typing “inches to cm” into Google or manually, based on the fact that 1 inch is equal to 2.54 cm. The shelf provides space for both low shoes (sneakers, boots, shoes) and for tall (boots). Now we are assembling the front part of our shoe rack; we will show how the back closed part is made below.

    2. Wall cabinet for the hallway with a hanger.

    For small things in the hallway, we will need a hanging shelf; it also serves as a clothes hanger.

    First we assemble the shelf frame, then we insert the internal spacer shelves into it. We sew up the back surface of the shelf with boards.

    3. Assembling the hallway with your own hands.

    First we install the shoe rack. Then we attach wooden strips and hinges to the wall to secure the lid for the back of our bench shelf.

    We attach wooden covers, the front of which rests on our shoe rack.

    The hallway is the first thing they see when entering the apartment. Often the selection in stores is the same, and choosing furniture for the hallway is not easy. And if it is not large, then the cabinet simply may not fit or will take up all the space. In this case, you can make furniture for the hallway yourself. In addition to saving money, you'll get a custom model that fits your space.

    In the presence of a large hallway, a wooden bench looks original; it will add zest to the interior. A win-win wardrobe option, it will fit into any interior. And a wardrobe, if space permits, is an ideal solution; it is comfortable and roomy.

    For small sizes, it is worth using:

    • built-in wardrobes - take up minimal space,
    • mirrors and light finishes will visually expand the space.

    DIY hallway furniture

    With the help of the right project, you can transform even a small area, and the hallway will look organic and spacious.

    The design of this room should be combined with the interior of the entire apartment. It is acceptable to choose different decor or floor coverings that are different from other rooms, but the stylistic direction should be uniform.

    Practicality

    When choosing a model, you should pay attention to practicality. If you have a small hallway, you should stick to the standard option and choose multifunctional furniture: compartments for things and shoes.

    A compromise between capacity and external beauty is a corner cabinet. It looks small, but has great depth, so it is roomy.

    If you have a large family, you need to think about a place for the belongings of each inhabitant of the apartment.

    The hallway is a room into which dirt rushes from the street. Therefore, you should not make it in light colors, it will quickly get dirty.

    • wardrobe - guides for drawers, rails for the sliding system;
    • cabinet with hinged doors - hinges, handles, locks;
    • hooks for clothes.

    Tools

    You should stock up on the following tools:

    • saw or jigsaw;
    • screwdriver or screwdriver;
    • sandpaper;
    • with a knife;
    • screws;
    • tape measure;
    • corners;
    • loops;
    • plugs;
    • special wooden fasteners;
    • with a pipe pipe

    This is a basic set that can be useful in making furniture.

    We make the hallway ourselves: choosing the material

    The choice of material is important; you should not choose too expensive one. In addition, it should be easy to process and safe for health.

    Suitable: plywood, chipboard, fiberboard, MDF, furniture board, edged board, wooden block, drywall - they have a long service life and good quality.

    • Tree. Wood is an environmentally friendly material, so it is perfect for an apartment.

It is better to choose a corner hallway option. In addition, there should be enough shelves and hooks for all family members.

    • loops;
    • furniture panel;
    • plywood;
    • tongue and groove boards;
    • three-dimensional strip.;

    • a drawing is made according to dimensions, areas for attaching shelves are marked;
    • Chipboard is cut with a jigsaw;
    • holes are drilled for dowels on the front side of one panel and at the end of the other, holes are made for confirmations;
    • the dowels are lubricated with glue and the sidewalls are assembled;
    • The shelves are attached to confirmations and clothes hooks.

    If necessary, you can attach a mirror to the door or make sliding doors, thereby creating a corner wardrobe.

    Custom hallway with your own hands: drawings and diagrams

    If you have a non-standard corridor, into which the wardrobe or hallways sold in the store will not fit, you can resort to an original and simple solution.

The back wall is made of plywood.

    A sliding wardrobe is an excellent choice for a hallway, it can be built-in or separate.

    You can make a wardrobe of different sizes and models, depending on your preferences and area of the room.

    You can really make furniture for the hallway yourself. The models are quite simple and small in size. And if you have imagination, you can turn an ordinary hanger into a one-piece and unique thing.
