How to make a hallway out of wood with your own hands. Drawings of the hallway with dimensions and cutting

When people enter the house, the first thing they see is the hallway. Every person who crosses the threshold of your home for the first time sees the hallway first, thereby forming a preliminary opinion about you. That is why the hallway furniture should carry such qualities as elegance, beauty and practicality. The main task of the hallway is not only a decorative and representative function, but also the safety of your belongings in proper condition and, in general, order in the house.

The hallway is the face of your entire home. From the hallway in the morning you go about your business, in the evening you return again to it. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully consider the design of the hallway. It should be as comfortable, practical, beautiful as possible. The size is chosen based on the size of your room. Since it is in the hallway, in those cabinets and shelves that are placed in it, that most of the clothes are stored, then you need to approach the choice of furniture wisely.

Of course, you can buy it, but it's much more interesting and cheaper to make it yourself. And if you have children in your family, then you can attract them too. Then the process of creating furniture will turn into a developmental program, especially for boys who, using the example of an adult, will learn to make this or that device on their own. The author of this master class also decided to independently make an entrance hall for his house on his own. And here's what he did.

For work were used furniture panels 1600x400x18 mm - 7 pcs. 2000x400x18 mm - 3 pcs, boards 2000x120x16 - 7 pcs, 2 grooved boards 2000x240x18 mm. 1 three-meter rail 3000x40x12 mm, a piece of plywood 6 mm, furniture hinges - 12 pcs, furniture handles - 6 pcs.

First, he started making a bedside table, 820x400x400 in size. On the frame, sawn corners are visible at the top of the side walls so that the top cover of the cabinet is slightly narrower than its main part. Fastenings were made with self-tapping screws. Do not forget to cut corners under the plinth at the bottom of the nightstand. Next, the front bar is attached, which is attached to the dowels.

After the cabinet is made, a door is made for it, the dimensions of which are 400x400 mm. Holes for hinges are drilled with a special drill. We fix the door.

The next step is to make skids for the drawer, which will be located at the top of the cabinet. They are cut out of 6 mm plywood. We fasten them on the side walls of the nightstand.

The box is being made. It is also made from 6mm plywood. We measure the dimensions, the depth of the box you need and fasten the parts to each other. For this, wood screws were used, for which holes were pre-drilled so that the plywood would not split.

The front part of the drawer, which is made from a furniture board, is attached at the very end, after it has been varnished and the handles suitable for it have been purchased.

Now the bedside table cover is being made. It will be attached to the dowels. To do this, small carnations are driven into the upper end parts of the side walls, approximately 2/3 of the length. A cover is applied over the top and pressed on it. It turns out the markings for the holes. We drill them and with the help of dowels and glue we fix the cover. To ensure stronger bonding, we put some kind of weight on the lid.

Now we move on to the manufacture of the next item in the hallway, also cabinets, but with a different appearance and corresponding dimensions - 820x490x400 mm. Everyone makes the internal shelves the way he likes. The location can be anything. We fasten on the sides with self-tapping screws. The upper part of the central partition is attached to the dowels. Doors are sawn and hinges are attached. Do not forget about the front bar and washed down under the plinth.

Now the author proceeds to the manufacture of a pencil case, which will have dimensions - 2000x400x400 mm. Cut out the sides, top and bottom. Everything is mounted on self-tapping screws, except for the front plate. She, as in other cases, will be attached to the dowels. For strength, the structure at the corners is fastened with the corners of their plywood. Shelves located in the pencil case will lie on holders made of rivets, in which the upper part is slightly cut off. The doors are attached with 3 hinges each.

A lattice stack is made of boards. Try to position the cross rail so that hooks for clothes can later be attached to it. In the design, a place is cut out for the bedside table, which the author made at the very beginning. A shelf is made in the upper part of the crate. Holders for it are made from scraps of boards. Everything is polished. The whole structure is covered with several layers of varnish. Clothes hooks are attached.

Sometimes the assortment in stores is striking in its monotony. Many apartment owners know that picking up furniture in the hallway is very difficult. If the room is small, then the cabinets simply do not fit in it, or they fill all the free space with themselves. But the owners of spacious hallways also find themselves in a difficult situation - the presented models do not always meet the needs of the owners and often look ridiculous in a large room.

If you cannot choose the right wardrobe, then do not worry and think about creating the perfect furniture for the hallway with your own hands. This approach will help save money, as well as get a model that suits you in all its parameters.

Can a beginner “home master” be able to cope with such a task? Yes, the desire and availability of all the necessary tools and materials will lead you to a positive result. Of course, it is better for inexperienced craftsmen to dwell on the simplest models. But those who have not been making furniture for the first time can create a real work of art.

To make it easier for you to deal with complex work, we have prepared special instructions, drawings and diagrams.

How to make a hallway with your own hands?

First you need to decide on the model and size. If we are talking about a tiny room, then you should not overload it with furniture - use a standard hallway with a small compartment for outerwear, shoes and necessary things.

In the spacious hallway you can place a spacious closet. If the area allows, then such a closet can easily turn into a real one - the dream of every woman. The cost of implementing such a complex project increases in proportion to the size and content of the cabinet.

You can also consider an option that will be a compromise between roominess and appearance. So, the corner hallways visually look much smaller. But at the same time, the large depth allows you to place a lot of things inside.

Having chosen a suitable model, you can start taking measurements and preparing calculations. Also be sure that you have all the tools that the masters use.

Necessary materials and tools

Prepare in advance:

  • saw or jigsaw,
  • screwdriver,
  • sandpaper,
  • construction knife,
  • furniture screws,
  • roulette,
  • corners,
  • loops.

You will also need hallway material. We recommend that you give preference for furniture board because it is made from natural ingredients without the use of synthetic resins. Such a shield is completely safe for the health of people living in the house. However, this material has a high cost.

More popular common chipboard. It contains bonding resins, which can adversely affect the occupants of the house if the edges of the laminated board are not covered with piping. But at the same time, the material has a relatively low price and excellent characteristics (it is easy to work with).

Do-it-yourself standard hallway: instructions, diagrams and drawings

To make such a simple hallway, you will need the following materials:

  • loops - 12 pcs,
  • furniture panels - 7 pcs (dimensions 1600x400x18 mm),
  • piece of plywood 6 mm,
  • grooved boards - 2 pcs (dimensions 2000x240x18 mm),
  • furniture handles - 6 pcs,
  • three-dimensional rail - 1 piece (dimensions 3000x40x12).

We recommend you start with pencil. Its dimensions are 2000x400x400 mm. The corresponding planks are cut out of the furniture shield, as well as the top cover at the rate of "overlap". Also need two shelves. The assembly is pretty simple. The slats are arranged in parallel and fastened in the lid with self-tapping screws, shelves are also installed. For strength in the corners, the frame is fixed with corners cut from plywood.

Since two doors located one below the other are much lighter than one, this option is preferable. From the shield you need to cut two identical doors and several internal shelves (optional). Hinge the doors. You can get by with two for each door, but for reliability and proper weight distribution, we recommend using three.

The dimensions of one pedestal are 400x400x820, and the other - 820x400x490 mm. You can refuse any of them without prejudice to the design as a whole.

To assemble the first cabinet you will need 2 identical sidewalls and an inner shelf that will hold the structure together from below. The upper part of the future cabinet is very narrow, so the lid should be noticeably smaller than the main part. All elements are fastened with self-tapping screws. If desired, you can use furniture dowels. Remember to pre-drill holes and use glue.

A door for a nightstand is cut out of the shield; it must be fixed on two hinges. But for the drawer you need skids. We recommend that you purchase the necessary items from a specialized store. You can make your own out of plywood, but in this case the box will pull out instead of roll out, which will make it much more difficult to use.

Making a second cabinet is very easy.. You only need two sides and 2 inner shelves that form the frame. The internal filling of this cabinet can be absolutely anything. All parts are attached to self-tapping screws or dowels.

After that, the hallway needs to be assembled. Fasten all the elements together, and then prepare the boards. They should be beautifully located from the edge of the pencil case to the edge of the cabinet, creating the basis for the hanger. Keep the same step when attaching the boards to the wrong side of the nightstands. To ensure that the structure is also strong in the upper part, fasten the boards with a rail. Place it at such a height that later you can attach hooks for outerwear to the rail. If desired, you can supplement the design with a shelf for hats.

Do not forget to open the hallway with varnish, attach handles and hooks.

Do-it-yourself wardrobe: instructions, diagrams and drawings

It's a lot easier to do than it might seem. But first you need to define the exact meaning of this term. "Sliding wardrobe" involves a special design of doors that move along the skids along the cabinet body. It can be either built-in or freestanding.

If you wish, you you can make a drywall cabinet body and thus hide it in a false wall. But we will consider the classic scheme for manufacturing a wardrobe with side walls.

This model with dimensions 2020x625x2320 consists of several main parts.

  • The side racks must be 2288x625 mm high (in these calculations, the thickness of the sheets of the upper and lower strips is taken into account - 32 mm).
  • Also large details are the bottom and top bars: 2020x625 mm.
  • The middle vertical posts are inextricably linked with the clothes rail. As a rule, it is mounted at a height of 1900 mm, so the standard size for them is a height of 1900 mm, a width of 525 mm. The remaining 100 mm is the margin for the normal functioning of the sliding doors.

The filling of the cabinet can be any. It all depends on your desires and preferences, but remember that there should be a margin inside to accommodate mounting systems.

All parts are best ordered from a carpentry workshop. Even an experienced craftsman will not always be able to cut out the elements of the desired shape at home.

After that you can start assembling the cabinet. For installation, we recommend using not only screws and dowels, but also furniture corners. The rails are installed inside the cabinet in a specially designated area (those 100mm that we left when preparing parts). After that, you can put the door in place and use the cabinet.

Do-it-yourself corner hallway: instructions, diagrams and drawings

The problem that arises when creating a corner hallway is that careful calculations are required, the slightest mistake can cost a whole sheet of material. First you need to take measurements and check the walls. If the surface of the walls is curved, then you cannot do without a common frame. Otherwise, the walls themselves can serve as a base for you to screw the shelves to. The second option is more economical and simpler, but we will consider a separate closet, since perfectly even walls are very rare.

Choose the right drawing, based on the size of the room, the length of the walls and the proximity of doorways. Think about the interior of the closet. According to the chosen dimensions, make six main body elements:

  • top and bottom bars
  • rear walls (2 pcs),
  • side walls (you can do without them, but the functionality of the cabinet will decrease).

Once you have the frame assembled, you can begin installing the interior shelves, baskets and drawers, as well as the hooks and rods.

The corner hallway can be equipped with roller doors, turning the structure into a corner wardrobe. But budget swing doors will also look good.

How to make a hallway with your own hands: video

Trying to save money or realize their idea without contacting designers and planners, many people think how to make a hallway with their own hands. This is quite an affordable business, but it is important to take into account some principles and know all the subtleties.

Kinds

By the appearance of the "entrance" room, all your guests and even just casual visitors will add up the impression of the home as a whole. Think carefully about the concept, the main idea of the whole room. And then only get to work when you are sure that the idea is practical, and its implementation will lead to the optimal result.

A hand-made hallway is in any case more unique than a custom-made one. But freed from the "guardianship" of designers and engineers of the furniture industry, you will have to figure out all the nuances on your own. The main types of these rooms are corner, open, compartment and swing, depending on the specific type, the requirements for furniture also differ.

In the corner room, absolutely everything is subordinated to the idea of maximizing the use of space, or rather, an empty corner. Open shelves can be placed on the sides of the closet, in other places cabinets and hangers of a classic look are placed. You can additionally save the area of \u200b\u200bthe corridor if the cabinet doors are mirrored.

The open type of hallways contains the very minimum of furniture - obviously it will not be soft, sometimes you can’t find a closet either. If it exists, it is relatively small, for hanging clothes they use hooks and hangers that are visible to everyone. The opposite is a room in the compartment format, in which wardrobes of the same type are invariably placed. It easily accommodates the personal belongings of everyone who lives in the apartment, sometimes you don’t even have to look for a place to wear clothes for different seasons.

Material

Among all materials, it is advisable to give preference to furniture panels - they are superior to simple boards made of pine and other types of wood, do not contain synthetic resin or other artificial component. They have only one minus - it's a solid price.

The use of chipboard, plywood, drywall is attractive in cases where cost considerations are in the first place for you. Do not be afraid, however, to make an error against the canons of style, the possibilities for designing modern materials are quite large.

If you can use MDF instead of chipboard or take finished parts from old furniture, that's exactly what you should do. This will allow you to perform the work more efficiently, get an aesthetically complete result, and the furniture will be better in terms of environmental parameters. The use of improvised materials is much more convenient and easier than trying to use steel or aluminum pipes, because metal processing at home is quite complicated.

The veneer is not too heavy, but the material is expensive; when choosing between melamine and laminate, you should definitely give preference to the second one, as it is stronger and more durable.

Dimensions

When the material is selected, you need to decide on the dimensions of the future structure (or several furniture designs).

Even if the size of the corridor is “mini”, try to place in it:

  • Place for storing clothes;
  • Shoe cabinet;
  • Sitting for convenient change of footwear;
  • Several shelves for various little things;
  • Storage system for hats, umbrellas and bags.

All these functions can be performed by combined pieces of furniture that help save space. With an acute shortage of space, it is worth limiting yourself to a compact floor or wall corner hanger connected to a shoe rack and a small soft seat. If a cabinet is placed, its minimum depth should be 40 centimeters (it simply does not make sense to do less). For a corner cabinet, the optimal parameters would be a length and width of 0.9 meters, a height of 2.5 meters, but provided that the ceiling height allows.

Colors

Painting furniture in the corridor is a very important point in its design; according to designers, it should be selected in harmony with:

  • wall color;
  • Color characteristics of other rooms;
  • The total area of the hallway itself.

Light colors always add not only space, but also a feeling of freshness, the room will look more modern. For narrow corridors, elongated in length, brown and other heavy colors are categorically unacceptable. They will create the impression of being in a strange gloomy tunnel. If the area is large enough, then the white walls will evoke associations with a clinic or laboratory.

Conclusion: furniture should not be painted in the same colors as the walls.

accessories

Door hinges and ties, handles, mechanics for folding doors are used. There are also rods for hanging hangers, shelf and drawer holders, shoe cassettes and metal mesh boxes.

Swing doors are most often hung on four-hinged hinges, and if a more compact door unit is required, furniture blinds of German and Italian production are used. It is not recommended to take corner ties, their appearance will not fit into any decent interior.

Required Tools

You will definitely need:

  • Saw or electric jigsaw;
  • Construction knife;
  • Roulette measuring;
  • Emery;
  • Screwdriver.

Of the consumables, you will need screws for furniture, corners and door hinges.

We make drawings and diagrams

It makes sense for both beginners and experienced home craftsmen to draw up drawings and diagrams, because even the most prepared can make a mistake, do something wrong or miss an important circumstance. Immediately decide on the dimensions and geometric configuration, with what types of furniture will be used. In a spacious room, you can put a wardrobe, and if there is not enough space, you will have to draw a corner hallway.

Filling features

At a level below 70 centimeters, it is advisable to fix not roll-out boxes, but baskets in the form of a grid (they are more convenient and do not collect dirt so much when storing shoes). Using modern brackets, you can put such a basket in a closet much wider than they are. Given, again, the relatively small dimensions of the hallways, all furniture components in them should be smaller than those used in other rooms.

Style

Format country music It attracts the attention of designers for good reason, because it brings a feeling of coziness and comfort to the room.

Scandinavian style is a combination of warm natural shades as accents and a general light background. The Art Nouveau style, also known as Art Nouveau, is distinguished by curved lines that look like plant stems. The modern hallway has no definite framework, it can take the best from all other styles, and at the same time, the design cannot be reduced to one of them.

Provencal style favorably beaten and emotionally enhanced just due to antique decor. But in the "Scandinavian" hallway, unnecessary decorative elements are inappropriate, there should not be anything that would not be absolutely necessary. In the interior in the spirit of Art Nouveau, on the contrary, it is very useful to introduce luxurious gilded details. If exquisite mirrors are placed, bright color accents are made, this will only be a plus.

Design

In the hallway of the Khrushchev apartment, it is advisable to use minimalist furniture. Refuse unnecessarily small details, try to ensure that all elements of the headset are made uniformly. Closed storage systems are preferable to open ones, they do not create a feeling of overcrowding space and bad taste. Only in the cramped rooms does it make sense to put an open hanger instead of a closet or drawer. Visual softening of corners and maximum smoothness of lines are other important requirements for the design of furniture for the corridor.

For all the beauty of natural stone, embossed panels and similar volumetric solutions, give them up - the absorption of space is too bad for the feeling of it. Important: do not use large patterns, they only spoil the impression. Finishing both furniture and walls, use only high-quality materials and structures that will not lose their attractive appearance for a long time.

How to do?

If you decide to make the situation wooden, you will need furniture panels, boards with dimensions of 200x12x1.6 centimeters, a grooved board 200x24x1.8 centimeters, three-meter slats, plywood, hinges and handles. Other components may be required depending on the specific idea. It is recommended to start work with the assembly of the cabinet (with dimensions, for example, 82x40x4 cm); the tops of the sidewalls at the corners are sawn off to narrow the lid compared to the main body. To connect the parts, self-tapping screws are used; at the bottom, the corners under the plinth are necessarily cut out. The front bar should be fixed with dowels.

Then you need to make a simple door (dimensions 40 by 40), drill holes for the hinges and install the part. Runners are made for a roll-out drawer in the upper lobe of the bedside table, they are cut out of plywood and fastened on the sides.

Next comes the turn of the cabinet cover (attached to the dowels), it is required to hammer short furniture nails into the upper ends of the sidewalls by about two-thirds. Attach the cover and press on it, so the holes will be marked. They are drilled, a cover is installed on the dowels and glue. In order for the adhesion of the adhesive layer to be better, a heavy load should be placed on top.

The next step is to make a cabinet, which should be different from the previous one, its dimensions are 82x49x40 centimeters. To make internal shelves or not, and how exactly, is up to you. From the sides, the structure is fastened with self-tapping screws, and dowels will hold the upper segment of the median partition. The doors will need to be sawn out, the hinges fixed, the front plate and cuts for the skirting boards prepared.

A mandatory attribute of any hallway is a comfortable, functional closet.

If you have experience in carpentry, you can make a piece of furniture with your own hands.

This will help save money and create a wardrobe that will become an interior decoration.

In addition, the entrance hall is the first room that your guests notice. And your masterpiece can become its main decoration!

Before developing a wardrobe project, it is necessary to clearly define what items it is intended for and how many things will be stored. Take into account the dimensions of the room.

Kinds

The main purpose of the closet in the hallway is to store shoes and clothes, hats and even household appliances. There are the following types of wardrobes:

  • free standing. Roomy and massive, fully equipped: there are walls, ceilings, floors, doors. The design is easy to disassemble and carry;
  • corner. Suitable for small rectangular and square rooms. The back wall can be designed for various shelves;
  • built-in. They have internal partitions, side doors and walls, shelves. There are no back walls or ceilings.

For one person or a small family, a one-door wardrobe is enough. The number of sections is two. The internal filling should include shelves for shoes or shoe boxes, drawers for hats and small wardrobe items, stands for hats and umbrellas. You need crossbars for hangers and hooks for everyday clothes, and a mirror is a must.

When creating a schema must be taken into account:

  • the width of the shelves is about 80-90 cm. If the room is very small, you can make narrow shelves from 40 cm;
  • the crossbar for hangers must be placed across the cabinet;
  • the height of the wardrobe for the top of clothes is at least 140 cm;
  • there should be decorative shelves for small things.

In large hallways there are two-door or three-door wardrobes. It is convenient to store not only seasonal shoes, hats and accessories in them, but also bed linen, towels, magazines. The width of the shelves is variable - from 40 cm or more. The height between them is from 250 to 350 mm.

Important! The greater the depth of the shelves, the greater the distance between them and vice versa.

Scheme and drawing

During the drawing up of the scheme, it is necessary to take measurements of the details and draw everything on paper.

Reference. There are no set rules for scheduling. It is advisable to make a cabinet project according to ready-made drawings, which are easy to find on the Internet. And you can draw a sketch of the future product yourself, carefully considering all the details.

According to the drawings, sawing of the material will be carried out.

Circuit development sequence:

  1. Determine the dimensions of the cabinet, taking into account the placement. The standard length of wall material is usually 277 cm (based on the size of the apartment's ceiling).
  2. Sketch a general view of the product.
  3. Divide the interior space into vertical and horizontal sections.
  4. Decide which compartments to install the boxes.
  5. Determine the dimensions of the doors of the sections that will be closed (if any), the location of the mezzanines.

It is necessary to outline the ends for gluing the furniture edge tape, to select the fittings. Mark all dimensions on the drawing. To facilitate the task, you can use a free computer design program - for example, SweetHome 3D.

According to the selected dimensions, you need to prepare 6 important body parts:

  • top and bottom bars;
  • back walls (2 pieces);
  • side walls (not required if we are talking about a built-in wardrobe).

As side panels, rear panel, bottom and cabinet lid the walls of the apartment and the floor can be used. This will help save on materials.

Important! If the walls are made of drywall, this solution is not acceptable.

What to make to be cheap and beautiful?

The construction market offers a wide range of materials with which it is possible to implement any design solution. It is not necessary to make a cabinet from solid wood. It is expensive and difficult to process. It is better to buy practical inexpensive materials that are easy to work with.

Laminated chipboard panels- the best option for making a piece of furniture with your own hands.

Chipboard advantages:

  • affordable cost;
  • strength and reliability;
  • environmental friendliness;
  • ease of processing.

wood boards lightweight, so do not need fittings or reinforced fasteners. A wide selection of textures will allow you to realize any design ideas.

plywood sheets strong, lightweight and dimensionally stable. The material is several times cheaper than wood.

MDF panels are analogous to chipboard, and are inferior to them in terms of fiber pattern and quality. Such furniture is less expensive. On sale there are MDF with imitation of precious woods.

Advantages:

  • easy processing;
  • fire resistance;
  • moisture resistance (material does not swell);
  • ample opportunities for creating furniture.

Wood fiber boards have excellent performance. For the manufacture of load-bearing structures of the cabinet, medium or high density fiberboard is suitable.

The facade of the wardrobe can be made of wood, glass or chipboard, MDF sheets. Suitable laminated panels with a mirror or regular surface, with tinted auto film.

When choosing a material, take into account financial possibilities. If the budget allows, you can make a cabinet from natural wood. The most durable is mahogany. Alternative options are beech, Karelian birch.

You need to purchase the necessary accessories:

  • end hangers;
  • euro screws with plugs;
  • handles for doors and drawers;
  • drawer guides.

The number and type will depend on the number of sections, drawers in the closet.

Important. The fittings must be of high quality so that the doors do not jam.

Instruments

Before starting work, it is advisable to prepare everything in advance necessary tools and inventory. Namely:

  • tape measure or ruler;
  • pencil or marker;
  • glue;
  • edge tape;
  • ratchet;
  • screwdriver or drill;
  • pliers.

If you plan to cut the blanks for the cabinet at home, you will need an electric jigsaw.

Step-by-step instruction

blanks

Sawing parts is carried out according to the finished drawings. If you have experience, you can handle this yourself. But after sawing the material with a jigsaw, chips may form.

expedient turn to professionals for cutting blanks. The sheets will be cut beautifully and precisely, and there will be no jagged edges on the edges.

After cutting the parts, edging is carried out with furniture PVC tape. The edge is glued with an iron heated to a certain temperature.

Build Description

Pre-marking for fasteners with maximum accuracy.

Important! The holes for the fastening elements should be located strictly in the middle of the thickness of the end of the workpiece, since the confirmations are screwed into the end.

Install the bottom and walls of the cabinet according to the scheme:

  1. Check the accuracy of the dimensions, put the walls and bottom in place.
  2. Holes are made to fix the base and partition in the center.
  3. Fix the plinth and the central partition. Confirmates are screwed to the bottom of the side walls. To protect them from moisture from the side of the part that rests on the floor, a waterproof profile is used.
  4. Mount the upper shelves to stiffen the frame. For reinforcement, a back wall is installed.

Important! To fix the cover, a screwdriver will not work. Fasteners are baited manually using pliers. Additionally, tighten with a ratchet or hex wrench.

Proceed to the installation of side shelves. They are fixed with four confirmations (2 on each side).

If the side shelf is flush with the inner shelf or bottom, confirmations cannot be used.

Fasten with dowels - wooden cylinders. They are inserted into pre-prepared recesses in the wall and pushed into the same holes in the shelf.

Assembly of doors begins with the installation of the back door. The level checks whether the cabinet is accurately exposed. The upper level is fixed by placing 2 supports and a running lower profile on it. To assemble the rear door, you will need a set of accessories:

  • rear door track roller with and without trunnions;
  • 2 tailgate corners;
  • 8 screws 4x25;
  • 10 screws 4x16;
  • 6 screws;
  • sealant.

If glass or mirror insertion is envisaged, install segments of the seal along the length of the dividing profile. When mounting parts from chipboard, a sealant is not needed.

When assembling the door, the inserts are placed on the foam with the front side so as not to damage. Glass or a mirror is installed in a horizontal dividing profile. When mounting two glasses, the sealant is placed on both sides.

The combined door is assembled using dividing profiles. A sealant is required at the joints with glass. The main door profile is fixed on both sides of the door. If it is made of chipboard, use 4x25 screws. To the connecting profile is fixed with screws using a screwdriver.

Important! One profile is fixed in a horizontal position. The second - according to the vertical arrangement of the door.

The profile handle is installed on both sides, directing the bend to the front side, controlling the tightness of the joints. If necessary, they are knocked out with a mallet and the mates are aligned along the entire length. The restrictive sealing corner of the rear door, the track roller without pins, is mounted on the side of the profile handle.

Hanging the rear door is carried out on the running profile and go to the front. Prepare the same set of fittings as for the back door. The assembly of the front door of the cabinet is carried out in the above sequence.

At the final stage, hangers and baskets are installed on the side walls. Check the functionality of the doors. They must open and close without extraneous sounds and easily.

So, let's get started and try to make the furniture in the hallway on our own, so that later we can assemble it into a single complex.

Tools and materials

For this work, we need certain tools: a drill;

Without a screwdriver, the work of assembling furniture can last more than one day.

  • screwdriver;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • sandpaper;
  • screwdriver;
  • saw;
  • various drills.

In addition to tools, you will need the following materials:

  • furniture boards (mainly made of pine, beech) sized 1600*400*18 mm and 2000*400*18 mm;
  • boards measuring 1600 * 120 * 16 mm;
  • slats 3000*40*12 mm in size;
  • plywood 6 mm thick;
  • hinges for furniture;
  • furniture handles;
  • wooden dowels.

We will make one single-door bedside table, the other two-door one, a pencil case and a clothes hanger.

Production of a single-door bedside table

The device of a conventional cabinet-pencil case.

Let's start with a one-door bedside table. We determine the height of our future pedestal and cut out two sides of the same size from a shield 1600 mm high, corresponding to the selected height. If there are skirting boards in the hallway, then on one side these two side panels are sawn off so that the bedside table fits snugly against the wall. In the upper part, we also cut it at an angle so that the top cover is narrower than the main bedside table. We fasten the two panels with self-tapping screws by inserting the lower and upper bases. At the same time, from below, we do not make the base straight to the floor, but a little higher, removing the resulting gap with a front panel using wooden dowels. From above, we fix the base in the place where the cut begins. The back panel, if necessary, is made of plywood. Next, we cut out the door of the bedside table of such a size that a drawer fits over it, and using a special drill we make holes for the door hinges. Using furniture hinges, you need to attach the door to the frame of the nightstand.

From plywood we cut the skids for the drawers of the cabinet. For reliability, it is better to cut them out along the entire depth of the cabinet. We attach them on both sides of our frame. From plywood we make the bottom bar for the box, taking into account the fact that it should fit into the holes of the runners, the back and side panels of the box. We make the front panel from a furniture board slightly wider than the drawer itself.

We fasten the parts of the box with self-tapping screws. We attach the front panel after we fasten the handle to it and varnish it.

We cut out the top cover of the nightstand and fasten it with dowels and glue. The nightstand is ready.

Production of a two-door pedestal and cabinet-pencil case

Drawing cabinets for shoes.

Now we make a two-door nightstand. According to the dimensions you need, we cut out the side panels, the upper and lower bases, stepping back a certain distance from the bottom and closing it with a front panel, making cuts under the plinth. At the same time, the height of this bedside table should be lower than in the previous bedside table. The result is a rectangular frame. Everyone chooses the internal content for himself according to his desire, placing partitions and shelves. From the sides, everything is fastened with self-tapping screws, the upper and lower covers are attached with wooden dowels. Next, doors of appropriate sizes are cut out and attached to our frame using furniture hinges. The back panel is made of plywood.

Next, we proceed to the manufacture of the cabinet-pencil case. We saw out side panels of the required depth from large shields, as well as the lower base, the central shelf and the upper base. It is recommended to divide the cabinet into two compartments in height so that the doors are light. Do not forget to make cuts for the baseboards and raise the lower base slightly above the floor. The whole structure is fastened with self-tapping screws. From large shields, two doors are cut, the same in height. With the help of furniture hinges and a special drill, the doors must be attached to the frame of the cabinet-pencil case. The door is recommended to be hung on 3 hinges for greater reliability. The back wall is made of plywood. Internal filling, again, everyone chooses on their own. Shelves are fastened with special shelf fasteners. Here is your wardrobe ready.

Now we collect all the elements of furniture in one place, arranging them in the following sequence: first a single-door bedside table, then a two-door bedside table and then a pencil case. Now in the resulting place above the two-door bedside table we will make a clothes hanger.

Making a clothes hanger

To do this, the boards are sawn with the same height, which should not exceed the height of the cabinet-pencil case and should begin above the two-door bedside table, and are attached to a horizontal rail with a certain distance from each other. The width of this design should match the width of the two-door bedside table. It turned out something like a rectangular lattice. From above, stepping back a short distance from the edge, a shelf for hats is attached to the entire width of the hanger. Using sandpaper, you need to process every detail of the hanger and varnish it. This hanger is attached to the wall with self-tapping screws above the two-door bedside table. Hooks for clothes are attached with self-tapping screws.

Now in our design there is a place above the single-door bedside table. In this place you can hang a mirror. It will look beautiful and harmonious if the dimensions of the mirror do not crawl up behind the closet and to the side behind the single-door bedside table.

All resulting furniture must be varnished. We attach handles to all front doors with the help of the same screws, put locks and other accessories if necessary. If you did everything right and conscientiously approached your work, then in the end you got a furniture set in the hallway, which is suitable both for outerwear, which is convenient to hang on the open part of the hanger and put away in the closet as needed, for shoes that are comfortable clean in boxes in a nightstand. A convenient shelf for hats will allow you to carefully store them and eliminate the possibility of losing them. A convenient mirror, with a beautiful edging to match the style of your corridor, will give you the opportunity to put yourself in order right within the corridor.

With minimal material costs and with a small set of tools that are in almost every apartment, if you have a desire, you can make yourself a wonderful and necessary set of furniture in your hallway.

If desired, instead of varnish, the furniture in the corridor can be covered with paint of the shade you need. The front surface of the doors can be decorated with additional materials, such as bamboo panels, mesh panels, glass shelves, doors. If necessary, the handles can be changed to others, thereby slightly changing the external image of your corridor wall.

Independent production of a hallway turned out to be not so difficult, very convenient and very affordable way to ennoble an interior that bored you.
