Calculate the height of the riser for this design: divide the height of the stairs by the number of steps calculated above and find the desired height:

Calculation example.

The height squared plus the length squared equals the length of the string squared. We take the square root from the resulting number and find the length of the beam for our stairs.
32 + 4.52 = 9 + 20.25 = e29.25 = 5.4 m.
