Arbors from saw cuts of logs. Do-it-yourself wooden gazebo made of logs

If you are the owner country house, then you will certainly want to build a small gazebo made of wood. Consider how you can do it yourself.

A log gazebo will fit the overall eco-friendly style landscape design. The tree should be impregnated with protective agents.

Building a foundation for a gazebo with your own hands

Log houses are a capital structure, which means they require a foundation.

Depending on the type of gazebo and the type of soil, the foundation under can be tape, columnar or slab.

The device of the strip foundation begins with digging a trench along the perimeter of the future gazebo to a depth below the level of soil freezing, with a width of at least 30 cm. Next, the trench is filled with natural stone, gravel, sand, wall blocks and poured with concrete, the grade of which must be at least M50. After the concrete has hardened, a layer of waterproofing is laid on the foundation.

With standard soil, it can be installed on a columnar foundation. To do this, it is necessary to dig holes for poles in places of all corners of the gazebo. Their depth should be below the freezing level of the soil. After that, each pit is filled with bricks, natural stone and wall blocks, which are poured with concrete. Waterproofing is laid on top of the posts.

For a slab foundation, a pit is dug, which corresponds to the area of \u200b\u200bthe planned gazebo, which is filled with rubble. Then installed reinforcing mesh and filled with concrete. Such a foundation is required for complex soils and large winter arbors.

You can start assembling the frame.

To build a foundation with your own hands you will need:

  • level;
  • thread for marking;
  • bayonet and shovel;
  • knitting wire;
  • reinforcement with a section of 10-14 mm;
  • rubble, natural stone, brick;
  • cement, sand;
  • timber for formwork;
  • ax, hammer, hacksaw, nails (for formwork);
  • concrete mixer;
  • waterproofing material (bitumen, roofing material).

The main types of corner cuts

There are two ways corner connections logs: cut “without residue” and cut “with residue”. The first method makes it possible to obtain even corners; in the second method, the ends of the logs will protrude beyond the plane of the walls.

Consider the two most common types of cuts (there are about a hundred varieties in total).

Cutting "in the paw"

Scheme of cutting "in the paw".

The method of cutting "without residue" "into the paw" allows you to save wood, but requires some experience to perform it. The logs must be laid evenly, close to each other, otherwise after a while the building may deform, and the tree will begin to rot.

  1. First, the logs must be marked from the ends. The marking should be made from a log with a minimum diameter in the upper part of the log house. In the future, it can serve as a template for marking other logs. Try not to make mistakes, otherwise vertical lines the corners of the gazebo can shift and its tightness will be broken.
  2. Now the logs should be trimmed, making 4 edges, one of which should be directed towards inside gazebos and go through the entire length of the workpiece. Kant aimed at outside, should be equal to 1.5-2 log diameters. The remaining edges should be slightly larger than the diameter of the log.
  3. Next, a cut is made. One side should be equal to 4/8 of the thickness of the square, the other - 6/8. To make this operation easier, divide the sides of the square into 8 parts. Grooves for logs when cutting "into the paw" are made similarly to grooves for grooves when cutting "into a bowl".
  4. When the "paws" are ready on all the logs, make a control installation of the log house on a separate site. When the structure has undergone preliminary shrinkage, the building is erected again already on the foundation, observing the sequence of logs. To strengthen the elements of the structure, use the spikes.
  5. A year after the installation of the log house, perform caulking.

Cutting "into the bowl"

This kind corner cut increases lumber consumption by about 15% due to protruding elements. But home-made buildings erected in this way are characteristic of their traditional Russian flavor.

So, let's look at how to make a cut "into the bowl" with your own hands.

Scheme of cutting "into the bowl": 1 - carpenter's compass; 2 - spike; 3 - nest; 4 - marking for cutting the bowl; 5 - finished section of the longitudinal oval groove; 6 - notches for sampling longitudinal groove.

First you need to lay the logs in such a way that it is convenient to work with them. Each log is laid crosswise with respect to the lower log. After that, with the help of a carpenter's line, the contours of the longitudinal grooves and the bowl are drawn, adhering to the following rules:

  1. One leg of the line should rest on one log, the other on another.
  2. The distance between the points of the legs of the line should be equal to:
    • for a bowl in the lower log - 1/2 of the diameter of the upper log (cutting "in the oblo");
    • for a bowl in the upper log - 1/2 the diameter of the lower log (cutting "into the hood").
  3. The bowl should be marked first, and then the longitudinal groove.
  4. You can also markup in one pass:
    • mark the transverse contour at the end of the log, which is processed when one leg of the line moves along the arc of the end of the template log, and the second leg marks the line at the end of the log being processed;
    • after that, mark the contour lines of the bowl, groove and other contours of the log from its beginning to end, repeating the same actions on the other side of the log.
  5. If the longitudinal groove is located below, the log that is being processed is placed on top of the logs of the log house and the longitudinal groove is marked. In this case, it should be borne in mind that a gap is formed between them, which is equal to the protruding part of the lower log, which means that before marking, you should additionally separate the ends of the line by the size of the gap, adding 1-2 cm. After the groove is cut, the log should put it on the frame again and draw the contours of the bowl, setting the ends of the line to the previous position. In the bowl, when cutting out, a protrusion is made for a longitudinal groove, which will be superimposed on the log.
  6. Ready logs are placed in bowls, make finishing logs and their mates by removing wood or laying wedges and sealing material (tow or moss).

The optimal dimensions of the gazebo: height and area

The purpose of the gazebo

Before building a gazebo on the site, there are always a lot of questions regarding the choice of a place for a future building, selection suitable materials, as well as the choice of shape and size. It is very important to decide in advance on the size of the gazebo, since in the future it will be almost impossible to change them. It is not very convenient to relax in a cramped or too low gazebo, so we calculate all the necessary parameters in advance. Of course, in each individual case, the dimensions of the gazebo will be different, but there are general parameters with which you can determine the size and shape of the future structure.

Gazebo sizes for 4-12 people

In its form, the gazebo is round, rectangular, square or hexagonal. But there are options with 8 faces or even unusual shape. Depending on how many people are planned to be placed in the gazebo, and it is worth choosing its size. It is important to immediately decide on the purpose of the gazebo: it will be for a joint tea party in the family circle, or you need a whole pavilion for 15 people. Right choice the size of the structure will help to avoid an unpleasant situation when there is not enough space for all the invited guests.

The choice of the parameters of the gazebo is directly influenced by the area of the site itself, where it will be located. You should also observe the proportionality of all elements of the composition. That is, than smaller house and the plot, the smaller the gazebo should be. It will be inappropriate to look at a design that is superior in size standing next to House. On the other hand, if the area is large enough, then a small gazebo will also look ridiculous. In vast suburban areas, you can create a solid-sized gazebo made of brick or natural wood.

When choosing the shape and size of the gazebo, it is also worth considering the comfort of the people who will rest here. The approach to the table should not cause difficulties, the people sitting next to it should not be crowded. According to the standard, for each person you need to leave 2 square meters of the gazebo area. That is, if it is necessary to build a gazebo for 9-10 people, then a building with an area of at least 18 square meters(3x9 m). But in order for people to have a place to turn around, it is better to choose a slightly larger size, for example, 4x5 m. To save more space in the gazebo, you can use benches, but this will not add comfort, so here everyone already makes his choice.

Choosing the height of the gazebo

The well-known expression that low ceilings it is difficult to breathe, just to be considered when choosing the height of the gazebo. It is advisable to choose a height of at least 2.2 m. But this size should not be taken as the height of the gazebo in the ridge. This is the height from the floor to the roof.

If the gazebo is not a separate building, but adjacent to the house, then its height is also affected by external factor. The structure will be limited by the height of the adjoining building. Here it is important not to forget the main rule of adjoining buildings: if the roof is pitched, then its slope should be directed away from the main building, and not towards it.

Rest on fresh air with family or friends has always been and remains the best way pass free time. It is enough to spend several hours with loved ones in a real log arbor filled with the spirit of nature, and good mood secured.

Reasons for the popularity of wooden buildings

The gazebo has long been a popular building for any country house or cottage. Many projects involve its construction at the same time as residential building. And for giving, where the period of stay is limited summer season She has become indispensable.

Despite the fact that any material can be used for construction, a log gazebo remains the most common. There are several reasons for this:

  • wood is the only natural and most pure material, which does not contain any toxins;
  • in wooden room always a special microclimate;
  • this is one of the few natural materials well retaining heat;
  • the finished building has an excellent view and does not need additional finishing;
  • service life exceeds decades;
  • wooden gazebos always look more comfortable.

Types of gazebos

For a long time, the gazebo has become something more than just a building on four pillars with a roof that creates shade during the heat. To make a choice, you need to understand the existing diversity. Arbor from logs may differ:

1. By form:

  • rectangular;
  • square;
  • polygonal;
  • round.

2. By type:

  • open, with or without a small fence around the perimeter for relaxation in warm weather;
  • closed, with blank walls, window and doorways for all season use.

3. By functional purpose:

  • without a source of fire;
  • with a barbecue or stove for cooking and heating the room.

Location selection

The choice of an individual building depends on personal preferences, the availability of free space and opportunities. To decide on a place for a gazebo, you need to consider several factors:

  • remoteness from a residential building, which is especially important during transitions with food and utensils;
  • the possibility of supplying communications (at least electricity);
  • the presence of natural shade, which is so necessary during the heat.

The selected place will need to be cleared of debris, excess vegetation. If necessary, a part of the top layer of soil is additionally removed.

Construction stages

Arbor from logs is built using round logs that have undergone special processing on machine tools and antiseptics wood materials one diameter, which greatly simplifies and speeds up the installation process.

Installation has a strict sequence. Having decided on the option, you can begin to implement the stages of building a gazebo from rounded logs. There are several of them:

  • project development;
  • foundation preparation;
  • wall installation;
  • roof installation;
  • wood processing.

Project preparation

Project preparation is an important and responsible stage. It reflects all the information about the gazebo, necessary for carrying out installation work: dimensions, shape, type of foundation, roof shape, the presence of a fire source and much more. If a do-it-yourself gazebo is made from a log, special attention is paid to development.

The project should calculate the amount of material needed to prepare the foundation, walls, floor and roof. For gazebos closed type additionally, doors and windows are taken into account; for buildings with a stove and barbecue, the purchase of necessary materials and accessories. If the gazebo will be built with your own hands, it is recommended to choose the simplest options.

Foundation preparation

  • tape, installed around the perimeter of the future structure in the form of a tape;
  • monolithic, installed over the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe gazebo;
  • foundation on pillars, which differs from previous types in the preparation of the foundation only at the installation site support pillars gazebos.

For any type of foundation, it is necessary to comply with the mandatory requirements:

  • preparation of a trench at least 30 cm wide and up to 50 cm deep (depending on the type of soil and temperature regime in the region);
  • installation of formwork according to the level;
  • mandatory reinforcement with steel bars or mesh;
  • laying waterproofing after complete drying after 14 days.

Varieties of fastening logs

After the foundation has completely dried, you can proceed with the installation of walls. Before carrying out any work, it is recommended to spend time on training possible ways mounts. Simply put, before starting work, you need to practice so that the gazebo from a log with your own hands is made with high quality and on long years. For fastening, two methods of connections are used:

  • “no residue” (allows you to reduce material consumption, but requires a lot of processing experience);
  • “with a remainder” (it has been used for more than a century and is distinguished by its characteristic appearance reminiscent of fabulous buildings).

The last method has several options:

  • fastening in half diameter (or an easy way to connect two logs), but to create stability, a landing sample is needed from above along the entire length;
  • fastening in a double comb (or difficult option simple fastening), characterized by the connection of two logs with a double comb and the location of the landing sample at the bottom of the log;
  • fastening in a lock is the most complex and reliable connection, which is achieved due to a notch made in one log, and a groove in the other with a mandatory lower landing selection.

These fastening methods are always additionally fixed using wooden conical joints, called dowels.

Wall mounting

Before the installation of the walls, it is imperative to correctly install the first logs, called the "crown", on the foundation. It is advisable for the first logs to choose the most dense and moisture-resistant types of wood. This can be done in two ways:

  • set at the same level when all corners of the gazebo are on the same plane relative to the foundation;
  • set in two levels when only parallel sides gazebos are installed on the same plane.

For open large (or polygonal) arbors around the perimeter, vertical supports can be additionally installed. The walls are recruited to the required height. For closed options door and window openings according to the project. Along the perimeter of the gazebo, a mandatory strapping of logs is made.

Roof installation

Wooden gazebos have the same roofs as ordinary houses, so their installation is carried out in the same way as for any house, in a way. Depending on the chosen type of roof, two types of connection can be used:

  • "horse", used for rectangular and square buildings;
  • "crown", used for polygonal and round structures.

First, the rafters are installed, on which the crate is attached. For soft roof the crate must be continuous. On the finished frame waterproofing is laid, after which the roof is attached.

It is desirable that the log arbor has a roof with a large slope (to prevent the accumulation of moisture and foliage).

Features of different options

If you plan to constantly cook on an open fire, you need a gazebo made of logs with a barbecue. The installation of the base for the barbecue begins simultaneously with the foundation before the construction of the walls begins. In addition, for the removal of combustion products, it is necessary to provide a chimney, this must be taken into account when installing the roof. For gazebos with barbecue inside, a place for firewood is necessarily made.

The installed stove inside the closed gazebo will allow it to be used throughout the year, even in winter. Usually closed gazebo from a log is carefully sealed by sealing all the seams, guaranteeing excellent thermal insulation.

As already mentioned, a wooden gazebo can be built independently or bought. Today, a finished log gazebo, the price of which is from 10 thousand dollars, can be purchased at any specialized store. You just need to choose the model you like and indicate the place where it will stand.

Arbor from a log - massive and elite wooden structure, which will decorate any suburban or rural area. Due to its operational characteristics, a building made of this material can stand for decades (with periodic processing).

simple log gazebo

A log gazebo is a serious structure that cannot be assembled from improvised materials.

For its construction, high-quality construction material, and the process itself is clearly regulated by the instructions.

This article will consider the types of logs that can be used for construction on their own. After selecting a specific material, it will be offered step by step instructions, which will allow you to assemble the entire wooden structure yourself.

Photos will be provided at the end. various options, which can be taken as the basis for construction in your country house.

There are five types of logs. Most amateur builders, apart from rounded ones, have not seen anything in their little experience, so the information below will “open their eyes” to this issue.

Rounded (calibrated)

Produced by processing on a sizing machine. The log is driven through the machine, which is why the bark and upper layer cut down. It turns out an even and smooth building material of the same diameter. Additionally, a groove is cut in the log, which is necessary for the quick assembly of structures (by stacking trees on top of each other).

rounded

The optimal diameter for the construction of a gazebo is from 180 to 220 mm.

  • + Smooth and even shape;
  • + Low cost;
  • + Fast assembly thanks to the groove;
  • - Fragility - due to the removal of the protective layer, the material is subject to decay;
  • - For a warm room, additional thermal insulation is needed;
  • - Cracking, bending, deforming ...

Planed

The top layer is processed with an electric planer. The logs are more secure and reliable, as a reduced layer is removed.

Planed

  • + Warmer and more reliable compared to the round version;
  • + Almost perfectly smooth surface;
  • + - Logs need to be "customized" to each other - both the quality of the connection and the cost of work increase;
  • — There is a small difference in diameter (convergence);
  • - Since the logs are of different diameters, the gazebo is less even and symmetrical.

Skoblennoe

After removing the bark, manual processing cycles, due to which almost all performance characteristics. Is reliable and quality option, but requires a lot additional work- fitting to each other, processing small knots, additional fastening and the like.

Skoblennoe

  • + One of the most durable species logs - can stand up to 100 years;
  • + The warmest and most resistant to mechanical damage;
  • - More expensive;
  • - Requires a lot of manual work.

Carriage (Norwegian processing style)

The log is sawn from both sides, as a result, something in between a log and a bar is obtained. The carriage is prone to cracks, but they turn out noticeably less than in the case of the rounded and planed version. The design is smooth and symmetrical.

Carriage (semi-beam)

  • + The service life is higher than that of rounded logs;
  • + The room is warmer;
  • + The design is smooth and aesthetic;
  • High price and unpopularity.

debarked

The most elite and expensive buildings are considered to be from barked or whole log. Thanks to minimal processing, extremely uneven, rough and extremely strong logs are obtained. From all this it follows that it is very difficult to assemble a gazebo from barked material, since each material must be individually adjusted to everything else. But at the same time, the construction is obtained "for centuries", and it is worth a lot.

debarked

  • + Elite;
  • + Beautiful;
  • + Reliable;
  • + Heat;
  • - Expensive;
  • - complex and long process construction.

Which one is better?

It all depends on the budget and requirements for the gazebo. If you want to assemble quickly, cheaper and easier - buy rounded timber and you will be happy. Perfect Surface material will delight most guests.

More reliable and durable buildings are best made from scraped and debarked material. They will last much longer and look more natural. Rounded "pencils" will never create such comfort.

Step by step construction process

Despite its massiveness and reliability, the construction of a gazebo from this material is a complex and responsible process. There are many subtleties in terms of installation and further care, since the tree is subject to various influences (except for the barked one, it is more “like a drum” that is happening around).

Starting with the project and drawing, it is necessary to strictly adhere to what experienced builders recommend. A board and even a beam is much easier to handle than whole processed logs.

Dimensional drawing

Any construction initially begins with a project in which the building is a drawing with calculated dimensions. Therefore, before proceeding to the active stage of construction, it is necessary to present all your thoughts on paper. In addition, the dimensions will allow you to calculate the material consumption for the gazebo:

  • The number of cubes of the tree;
  • Dimensions and consumption of material for the foundation;
  • The amount of work on the construction of the roof;
  • Etc.

Drawing of a gazebo from a log with dimensions of 3.5 by 3.5 meters

Foundation

In the matter of choosing a foundation, you can approach with different points vision. Perhaps somewhere you need to raise an arbor, perhaps somewhere a more serious foundation will be needed, and somewhere just a few blocks will be enough. The most popular foundation options are listed below.

Tape

The most optimal in most cases, the foundation was and remains tape.

Tape

  1. A trench is dug wider than the gazebo by 10 cm, formwork is installed;
  2. falls asleep a small amount sand, compacted;
  3. It is filled with a small amount of rubble, compacted;
  4. Fittings are installed, interconnected by a knitting wire;
  5. Poured concrete mortar, after drying, the formwork is disassembled.

Such a foundation is enough even for the thickest logs, the weight of which will be really large. In 95% of cases strip foundation will be the solution to your problem.

Columnar: drilled or screw piles

Drilled piles

If necessary, you can raise the gazebo a little higher using a columnar foundation. Drilled piles, which are used for such a foundation, have a number of advantages over screw piles.

  • The bearing capacity is higher.
  • There is no corrosion.

Bottom trim

When creating the lower trim, a beam with a diameter of 150 by 150 mm is used, on which log walls. This approach will allow you to tightly fix the gazebo at the base and supplement it with lags on which the floor will be attached.

The arrows indicate bottom trim

Stacking and fastening logs

The approach to laying this building material surprises many. Technology without the use of screws and nails now seems to be some kind of “backward”, but this is where it is very appropriate. It is necessary to understand two points - how the logs are connected to each other and how they are attached to the corners.

"Komel to the top"

To evenly distribute the material in the wall, the logs must be laid using the “butt to top” technology.

Difference between butt and top

The material itself is a truncated conical, so to speak, shape. Butt - the end of a log with a maximum diameter. Top - with a minimum diameter. What we call the log diameter is called the butt - minimum dimensions logs at one end.

With such laying, uniform heights are achieved on each side. It is rather difficult to explain in words, I suggest watching a visual video from Valery Samovich:

Fastening at the corners - in the paw or in the oblo?

Paw attachment is a “zero” connection without residue, which is achieved thanks to carved paws, shaped like regular trapezoids. Thanks to this approach, the material is tightly connected to each other, which further strengthens the entire building. Its implementation requires experience or serious attentiveness - it is quite difficult to cut such joints.

Complex fastening in the paw

Oblo mount(into a bowl) is the laying of one log on top of another with the help of a small recess of a moon-shaped shape. With this approach, more material is used, since its ends remain sticking out at the corners. It turns out a full-fledged gazebo in the Russian style. This version is much easier to implement and is more popular among builders.

Easier connection in an oblo (into a bowl)

Roof and roof

The rafter system for a gazebo made of logs is exactly the same as in the case of a conventional building made of timber or boards. The roof can be single-pitched, gable or four-pitched (hip).

Log roof (photo 1)

For example, I will give interesting option from gable roof. Grandma, puff and ridge run also made of logs. Boards (rafters) are subsequently attached to the run, which are sheathed with oriented strand board or smaller boards. At the end, the originally conceived version of the roof is laid. A few photos of this approach are presented below.

Floor

Floor laying is carried out standard scheme with lags. Since the bottom trim of the timber was originally laid on the foundation, then with the help of metal corners you can easily attach the lags. Boards are laid on top, between which it will be necessary to make a small clearance for moisture to escape, the gazebo will not imply glazing.

Video

I would like to give a few videos that clearly show the main points of the construction of arbors from logs - the foundation, the roof, the fastening at the joints, and the like. Watching these videos will allow you to dive deeper into the process of building on your own, which you will have after studying all the instructions and requirements.

In the video from the channel " Northern House Vyatka» The guys talk about the advantages of a foundation made of bored piles over screw piles. The assembly technology of a large and large-scale building with interesting architectural solutions in terms of the roof (photos are presented in the section about the roof).

Another interesting video from the channel " IZBUD” is a little over two minutes, but clearly shows most aspects of the construction. The foundation is installed using TISE technology, using pipes. This method was not described in this article, but it also takes place, since it is a classic subspecies of a columnar foundation. At the beginning of the video, a construction project and drawings with dimensions are shown.

Finally posting interesting review gazebos made from an old unfinished bathhouse. Video prepared by the portal " ForumHouse", and the construction masters call Ivan Berezhnik. Here a really serious approach to the construction of a gazebo from logs of huge diameter and size is shown. It's just that even for the sake of self-development, I would recommend you watch it, I personally was very impressed.

Photos of different options

I would like to show at the end a variety of log arbors, which will help you decide on the design of your future building. There are really many options for execution, but the most popular are large structures - it just so happened that the Russian style is large-scale and capital.

A do-it-yourself log gazebo will decorate any landscape suburban area. It is possible to cut down the structure without any extra effort if the construction is carried out in stages.

To avoid extra costs for the arrangement of the foundation of the gazebo, it is necessary to choose the right location for the future building. Having decided on the site, you can begin to calculate the material for the construction of the log house. You can choose the design of the building from the projects offered by specialized sites.

The price of construction will be high if the log arbor is built on column foundation. Before you make a gazebo out of logs with your own hands on the basis of support pillars, it should be borne in mind that such a foundation is suitable for lowlands. It is there that water accumulates, and the supports allow you to raise the building from ground level.

Building a gazebo from a log with your own hands requires paying attention to the entrance to the room. The location of the future building in relation to neighboring houses should also be taken into account: if smoke constantly goes in their direction, then any barbecue will turn into a real scandal. If the building is needed in order to make barbecue, then it must be equipped so that smoke cannot enter the room.

The choice of location also depends on the dimensions of the equipment that is planned to be installed on the site. A brick oven will take up more space than a metal model. Portable barbecue grills are also suitable for installation in gazebos.

At the stage of choosing a place, you can think in advance for how many guests a gazebo project will be developed. The cost of log arbors is quite high, so it will be unprofitable to purchase extra material. The development of the project drawing is done in advance.

It is necessary to carefully consider the method of arranging the roof, taking into account the location of the building. If the construction site is completely flat, then you should take care of the construction in advance drainage system. It is necessary to drain rainwater, so the drainage scheme depends on the shape of the roof: if the roof is flat, then the building material will be required in the smallest amount.

So that snow does not linger on the roof, its design must be gable. Such roof forms are provided for buildings with a height of more than 3 m. Then the roof area on which snow will settle will be smaller, and it will no longer be able to linger on such a roof.

After choosing a place and acquiring materials, you should begin work, which is done step by step.

How to make a foundation for a gazebo

The next step after choosing a place where the gazebo will be located is the arrangement of the foundation. First, the selected site is marked out, taking into account the correct geometric shape of the construction site. All work must be done without haste, carefully measuring each side.

Suitable for most gazebo designs belt type foundation. But such a foundation is not recommended to equip in places with a possible flow of rainwater. To raise the floor of a decorative gazebo above the ground, a columnar base is made.

A solid, or slab, foundation is also a floor, so it can be tiled.

The columnar foundation is erected on supports, which are pillars. Installation is carried out using a plumb line so that the direction is perpendicular to the ground.

Marking is done using a nylon thread of the required length. Further, the perimeter of the structure is marked on the plane, at the corners of which special pegs are placed. After that, a nylon thread is taken and measurements of the diagonals are made, which should have equal length.

A shovel is used to dig a trench under the foundation. Width strip base should be 10 cm more than the width of the wall. The pillars should be installed in pits 70 cm deep. Then the trench is covered with rubble, for which ordinary stones from the site.

Do-it-yourself mortar mixing for the construction of a gazebo should be done in a special container. The crushed stone backfill is completely filled with a liquid cement solution. Do not allow cavities to form in the foundation. When the base of the gazebo is built, you can proceed to the waterproofing device, for which an ordinary roofing material is used.

How to lay logs

Since the gazebo will be built in the form of a log house with your own hands, before construction, you should decide on the method of laying the log. Usually, not a beam is used, but a half-beam, which has special planes for installation. They provide an even laying of the material, as well as its economy. You can not build gazebos from an old dry timber, which will quickly collapse.

It is difficult to apply the “paw” connection method without practice - the construction skill in this case must be great. The process of installing logs in the “paw” method requires control of the stacking density. If there are cracks and gaps between the logs, moisture will accumulate, so the material will begin to rot. This important point must be taken into account during the construction process.

When laying log elements in the “in a bowl” way, it is necessary to place them crosswise with respect to previous products. The width of the future cut should correspond to the risks on the log, applied with a pencil. The distance between them must be the same.

To ensure the accuracy of the markup, you must first mark the bowl, and then the groove.

The placement of the longitudinal groove from below involves laying the log from above, which is done before processing the product. A longitudinal groove is marked, performed with an ax. Then the element is laid on the frame and marked, which allows you to make a "bowl" by building a cutting of the desired height.

How to make a roof for a gazebo

The roof scheme must be developed in advance, after which you will need to choose the most suitable roofing material:

  • slate;
  • metal tile;
  • profiled sheet;
  • wood.

To make gable roof gazebos, the design should be assembled on the ground. Then the roof is lifted onto the pillars. For the construction of the frame, you will need a beam from which the crate is made. Having prepared a shalevka, the amount of which depends on roofing material, it is necessary to fill it in the cavity of the slopes.

Docking of all frame elements should be carried out exclusively on a solid surface. Preliminary marking is carried out, and then fastening is carried out. The roof frame is strengthened to the frame, then sheathing is made with roofing material.

For correct installation roofing is supposed to use a special sealant. It must be selected depending on the type of material used. On the market there are compounds of a neutral type that are not capable of destroying the roof. They are suitable for sealing joints,
