Small balconies and loggias most often become a continuation of the room, allowing you to win back several square meters of usable area. Today I propose to consider the issue of interior design of a living room combined with a balcony.

At first glance, this project looks very ordinary, but I would rather call it calm. I am sure that you will be surprised to learn that the apartment belongs to a person who is fond of Eastern philosophy.

How so, but where are the Japanese characters, mats on the floor and classic Japanese screens? And they will not be, the power in the living room is given to the art deco style.

Description of the idea

The walls of the living room are decorated with an array of stucco moldings that make the light surfaces more sophisticated. If you like this technique, instead of stucco decor, you can take polyurethane, which is much easier to install, and its price is much more attractive.

Everything speaks of the golden age of Hollywood - rough plank ceilings and walls, lilac-brown furniture and vanilla shades of facades.

The name of this project is not accidental, for several years the owners did not dare to start repairs, get rid of the old and wall carpets. All that was enough strength was to combine the living room with a balcony. This is what became my starting point.

The living room, previously combined with a bay window, was divided into two parts: a winter garden and a recreation area. The concept of this project is built around a circle. It is reflected in the curtains, swivel chairs, the library area around the door and the wall decor.

The surface is primed and marked for drawing.
Rough strokes of the lower layer are applied with a spatula. After complete drying, a second layer, thinner, is applied. The thickness should be such that the lower relief base is visible through the layer.
Scratching and cutting through the plaster with spatulas, the artist creates a three-dimensional image that resembles a bas-relief.
After drying, paint is applied, in my case terracotta color. To make the coating look voluminous, the paint is applied in 11 layers, each of which is lighter than the previous one. To save material, I recommend working with a semi-dry brush. In my case, it took about 30 liters of paint of various shades to paint the walls.

Such wall decoration is extremely demanding on the floor issue. In this project, I settled on a large laminate, the size of which is emphasized by chamfers. The walnut loft collection is perfect for the multi-faceted shade of sgraffito.

The sun, which has become a symbol of the interior, found a place on all the walls. The first "solar" circle is drywall construction around the door, beams-shelves depart from it, which have replaced bookcases.

The door frame was illuminated led strip, which made it slightly detached from the wall. Inside - double interior door, equipped with a rotary mechanism that allows the door to open in both directions. In the decoration of the canvas used thin layer metal and laminate base.

The second circle is located on the curtain covering the window. The two-layer tulle was stitched with an elastic band, thanks to which the fabric acquired a more rhythmic pattern. Thick curtains with the effect of "black out" are notable for the fact that they do not let in light. In addition, the top thick curtain cut in a semicircle, which allows it to be classified as a style-forming element.

The third and fourth circles were located behind the TV and the sofa.

Almost all furniture (TV console, two cabinets and a coffee table) was made to order. The oval coffee table has a secret - it opens like a fan.

The private area is visually separated by a natural wool carpet with an active, bright pattern. In a small part of the room there was a place for a floor lamp with a textile shade and wooden base, table lamps from the same collection, a handmade vase and favorite books.
