Consumption of profiles per 1m2 of Knauf drywall. Consumption of materials for drywall constructions

Calculator for calculating drywall on walls. Online calculator of drywall consumption on walls, calculation of components for mounting drywall on a wall.

Drywall constructions are used in almost any repair, and especially often in interior wall decoration. With it, you can even out irregularities of several centimeters, which is very difficult to achieve using ordinary plaster. Sometimes in private houses the walls will not stand strictly vertically, but slightly tilted. To achieve verticality in this case is also easier using GKL or GVL sheets. The result is a smooth surface suitable for any fine finish. Drywall is mounted very quickly, and is inexpensive.

Starting the selection of material for finishing, it is recommended to use drywall wall calculator. With it, the likelihood that building materials may not be enough, or more than necessary, will be minimized.

The drywall wall calculator will roughly calculate the amount of material needed for each wall and for the entire room as a whole. The exact number can be obtained only by using the room plan with the dimensions of the door and window openings indicated on it.

But approximate calculations will also be useful, since on their basis it will be possible to calculate the cost of building materials, or control the requirements of builders. Using the calculator is very easy. First you need to accurately measure the length and width of the wall that needs finishing, then enter the data into the form presented on the page. He will do all the calculations himself.

It is very convenient that with the help of such a calculator you can do not only drywall calculation for walls, but also to determine the amount of related materials, such as guide profiles, putty materials, fasteners, and others.

By its structure, a gypsum board is a rectangular structure consisting of a gypsum core glued on both sides with cardboard. Drywall belongs to the category of environmentally friendly materials, has good performance, thanks to which it is actively used in "dry construction".

The structure of the drywall sheet: 1 - gypsum base, 2 - sheets of drywall.

Thanks to clear geometric dimensions, it is not difficult to calculate the drywall consumption per 1 sq.m. When choosing a material, it is necessary to take into account its purpose for installation in certain conditions.

Of the total mass of this material, gypsum "gets" 93%, cardboard occupies 6%, another 1% remains for starch and moisture. In the construction of a drywall sheet, only cardboard lends itself to fire. And then, due to the lack of an air gap between the cardboard and gypsum, the paper does not burn, but smolders. Certain types of sheet have good flexibility; drywall can be a soundproofing material, subject to the appropriate arrangement of the frame, the correct sealing of the seams with high-quality putty. The consumption of building materials when using drywall is related to its type and application technology. Today, the products of the two largest manufacturers are mainly used, each of which uses its own marking to indicate the type of material.

Classification according to "Knauf"

  1. GKL. This is a rectangular "piece" of gypsum, pasted over with cardboard on 4 sides.
  2. GKLV. Moisture-resistant drywall, designed for use in rooms with high humidity. The cardboard used in the production is processed to reduce the possibility of mold, fungi and other similar microorganisms. In order to be able to distinguish moisture-resistant material from the usual one, green cardboard is used for gluing GKLV.
  3. GKLO. This drywall has an increased resistance to high temperatures. It is used where there are high safety requirements in the fire plan.
  4. GKLVO. The material is fire-resistant and at the same time has an increased resistance to moisture penetration.
  5. GVL. Gypsum fiber sheet, which is a pressed non-combustible mixture of crushed paper and gypsum.
  6. GVLV. Drywall with increased resistance to moisture.

The first four types of drywall sheets are actively used in construction in the construction of frame partitions, wall cladding, and ceiling filing. GKLV can also be used as an additional insulation. The last two types of drywall from the list above are used:

  • in basements where humidity exceeds 70% (for arranging the floor, walls, followed by laying tiles);
  • in sanitary facilities;
  • in utility rooms, storerooms;
  • in attics and attic rooms;
  • in ordinary living quarters.

When calculating the need for drywall, it is necessary to take into account its standard dimensions and the height of the room in which the GCR is to be installed. Knauf produces standard sheets:

  • width 1.2; 0.5 m;
  • 2.5 m long;
  • thickness 16, 14, 12, 10 mm.

The company produces sheets with a length of 3.6, 3.3, 3, 2.7, 2.6, 2.52, 2.4 m and a width of 1.2, 0.9, 0.6 m. The company's specification in the designation takes into account the special properties of the gypsum board and its thickness:

  • GH13: normal;
  • GNI: moisture resistant;
  • GTS9: waterproof and windproof;
  • GEK13: with increased strength;
  • GF15: flame retardant;
  • GN6: restorative (restoration) or repair.

Calculation of the total mass of 1m2 plasterboard partitions

It is usually produced not only in order to find out the expected consumption of material, but also to find out the level of load that the structure will create. The approximate calculation below is valid for standard GKL sheets having a thickness of 12.5 mm and used for sheathing a partition having a metal frame.

  1. The weight of the 1st “square” of a partition up to 5 m high, the frame of which is sheathed on both sides with only one layer of plasterboard, is about 25 kg. When arranging partitions of greater height, a thicker profile is used, so the weight of 1 sq. m will be higher.
  2. If a partition with a single frame is sheathed with two layers of drywall, then the weight of 1 sq.m at a height of up to 6.5 m will be approximately 45 kg.
  3. When constructing a double frame and sheathing GKL in 2 layers, the weight is 1 sq. m increases to 48 kg.
  4. If it is supposed to build a double frame with space for laying communications, then the mass of 1 sq. m will be 49 kg (with a height of up to 6 m).

When constructing a frame made of wood, the mass of 1 sq. m decreases. But when using wooden bars, the height of the partition usually does not exceed 4 meters. When constructing a structure with one layer of drywall, fixed on both sides, the mass is 1 sq. m will be less than 30 kg. If the frame is sheathed with two layers of plasterboard, then the weight of the 1st "square" will be 50.5 kg. Knowing the total mass of partitions, it is possible to calculate the load on the floor, which is relevant, for example, when arranging an attic. When preparing drywall for further finishing, any homeowner will be forced to calculate the consumption of other materials, in particular, primers, putties. They are the main finishing material when using drywall.

The largest number of questions from home craftsmen that we receive relate to the installation technology of plasterboard structures, the materials used and the calculation of their quantity. We hope that this page will help you understand these issues!

Important! The following consumption rates for CD and CW profiles are focused on the use of profiles with a steel thickness of 0.55-0.6 mm. When using profiles with a smaller steel thickness, their number must be increased by 30%. This is due to the fact that profiles with a steel thickness of less than 0.55 mm must be installed after 40 cm, while with a standard steel thickness (standard = 0.6 mm), profiles are installed after 60 cm. Accordingly, the number of fasteners and connecting elements increases etc.

Therefore, you need to understand that buying cheap profiles will most likely cost you more than buying more expensive profiles of standard thickness.

Before you go to the store, you would certainly like to study for yourself what and how much to buy. If so, then...

We provide you with the opportunity to make all the necessary calculations with the help of special tables in Excel in just a few seconds. You only need to know the initial data (length, width, height). Then you select the desired structure (ceilings, partitions, walls, etc.) and enter your dimensions. And all the calculations are ready!

One of the integral elements of almost any modern repair are drywall constructions. This, and only nothing surprising, because this material allows you to build a wide variety of partitions, abut certain functional areas, equip original multi-level ceilings and quickly complete an even formation for wall decoration.

Among the main advantages of drywall constructions, it makes sense to highlight:

  • light weight and easy installation;
  • good ductility of the material for processing;
  • the minimum abundance of garbage generated in the process of work;
  • high heat and sound insulation characteristics;
  • environmental friendliness, safety for health;
  • non-flammable;
  • low cost.

One of the few disadvantages of using drywall is the importance of using various types of profiles and screws, as well as dowels, reinforcement mesh, putty and primer, hangers and connecting elements. Moreover, all this must be purchased in sufficient quantities, for which it is also appropriate to determine the amount of drywall required for the construction of a certain partition, wall or ceiling. It is easier to calculate this, knowing the approximate consumption of drywall and materials, take 1m2 of certain structures.

The tables below will show the consumption rates of drywall in 1 m2 of partition structures, wall and ceiling finishes.

Table 1. Consumption rate of drywall get 1 m2 of ceiling on a single-level metal frame.

Table 2. Consumption rate of drywall get and sign 1 m2 of ceiling on a two-level metal frame.

Beat pocket putty and primer for drywall

The main purpose of applying a primer to a ceiling or wall surface is to increase the strength of the base and improve adhesion for a stronger adhesion of the finishing material to the plasterboard surface. As a rule, the treatment of drywall is carried out with an alkyd primer. About 100 milliliters of the substance is consumed per 1 square meter of surface. If the primer is made on top of the putty, it is advisable to use facade primer, the consumption of which is 130-150 milliliters per 1 square meter.

How much (money) putty comes out largely depends on how thick the tropopause superimposed in the process of work has. As a rule, the average consumption level per 1 square meter is at the level of 1 kilogram of material. So, if a false ceiling is processed in a room, in addition to high humidity, then you will have to spend 1.15 kilograms per individual square meter. Closing cracks and other minor defects, you can use the gypsum-based material, which will require 850 grams per square meter. In the final stage, glue-type putty is often used, the consumption of which is 500 grams, get a “square”.

Often, drywall manufacturers themselves supply special materials to the market, designed to please anyone) of its finish. As a rule, the consumption of putty and primer for drywall, produced by one brand, is slightly lower than in the case of using materials from other companies.

Expendable article of self-tapping screws for drywall

Fastening drywall sheets to the profile, as a rule, is done using self-tapping screws, the step between which should be 30 centimeters. Sometimes, in order to increase the strength of the structure, they resort to reducing the step to 10 centimeters.

It is extremely important to remember that fastening screws closer than 10 mm to the edge of the sheet is not possible, as this can cause cracking.

In order to determine the approximate consumption of self-tapping screws, it is necessary to take into account several different parameters:

  • Plasterboard size. Its standard measure is 1200 by 2500 millimeters. Non-standard panels are also produced, having a size of 600 and 2000 millimeters. But, since the first option is more common, it is he who, as a rule, is taken as the basis for making calculations.
  • Attachment distance. According to experts, drywall sheets should be fixed with a 35-centimeter step. This is what allows the finished structure to have a high level of strength, reliability and durability.
  • Composition of plasterboard layers. In the case of installing drywall in several layers, fastening should be done with different steps. For example, the first layer is attached with a 60 cm step, and the second with a 35 cm step.

After the mandatory indicators are determined, it is possible to easily calculate the consumption of self-tapping screws for drywall for attaching the sheet. Get one sheet will need approximately 70 pieces, while two layers will require a minimum of 110 pieces in the image.

Drywall adhesive consumption

When carrying out interior decoration using drywall, the casing of sheets can be carried out not only with self-tapping screws, but also with glue. In this relationship, it is necessary to know the consumption of drywall adhesive. In the case of using the popular mounting mixture Perlifix, how much (money) comes out will be at the level of 5 kilograms per square meter (plus it’s good to add a certain amount for inevitable losses).

In order for the mixture to be used more economically, it is necessary to carry out the correct preparation of the base for the use of glue. First of all, you should make sure that it is dry and has an unfavorable temperature of less than plus 5 degrees. The surface must be cleaned of dirt and dust deposits, delaminations, residues of formwork lubricants and other contaminants; if necessary, it can be washed. After that, possible protrusions should be eliminated.

When working with highly absorbent surfaces, such as sand-lime brick, aerated concrete, plaster, it is necessary to apply a primer with a roller, brush or sprayer. In the case of highly saturated surfaces, priming provides an increase in adhesive properties, as a result of which the mounting pulp will more reliably adhere to the wall or ceiling. In the process of drying the primed surface, nothing can be done to ensure that dust does not get on it.

The adhesive pulp is prepared as follows:

The plastic tank is filled with clean water at the rate of fifteen to sixteen liters per 30 kg bag of dry mix. After that, mounting glue is poured into the water and it is thoroughly mixed using a construction mixer in front until a homogeneous porridge-like mass is formed. It is not necessary to add any other components to this mixture, as this may adversely affect its strength. It is impossible to work with the resulting solution at a fast pace, since after about half an hour after preparation, the beloved will begin to harden.

Paint consumption for drywall

When coating plasterboard sheets with paint, as a rule, a water-based emulsion is used. Most often it is sold in white, tea, if desired, you can add special dyes to it, which will give it the required blueness. Paint of this type is suitable for use in any premises, and allows you to get a surface of a glossy or matte type. This point should be taken into account in advance when purchasing paint. The advantage of the matte version is that it allows you to hide various kinds of defects, while the gloss, on the contrary, will further emphasize possible sins, therefore, in this case, extreme caution and accuracy are required at the preparation stage.

Desirably, one of the main distinguishing features of water-based paint is the ability to quickly and easily give it the required texture, for which long-haired rollers can be used, or special curly ones.

Estimated paint consumption for drywall is 1 liter on top for every 5 square meters of area. The exact information about this can be recognized on the packaging of the material.

In addition to water-based paint, you can also use water-based acrylic paint. It is especially recommended to use it in rooms that are characterized by increased moisture content, since this paint is able to maintain its original appearance when exposed to moisture.

Acrylic paint also allows you to give the surface a soft or glossy look. As for the texture, it is important to achieve it more difficult than when using a water-based emulsion. The approximate consumption of acrylic paint for gypsum board is 1m2, which is about 0.2 liters per 1 square meter.

If you decide to change the configuration of the rooms, create an arch or divide the space into several work areas with your own hands, most likely you will prefer to use drywall as a working material. But before you start construction, you need to know how much materials will be required for your purposes. As a rule, an accurate calculation is painstaking work, and in order to carry it out correctly, you need to know and take into account the many subtleties of the assembly process. To facilitate this task, we have developed drywall calculator, which allows you to calculate the exact amount of consumables even before they are purchased and installed and avoid a situation where a large amount of unused materials remain after repairs. Use suggested drywall calculator for partitions very simple - you need to enter the height and width of the object. Based on this data, you will receive information on the number of drywall sheets required to complete your work. But besides this, the calculator will help you find out what other materials and in what quantity will be useful to you for building a structure when repairing an apartment. Having calculated the area of the wall, you will find out how much profile, dowels, screws and other consumables are required. Using a calculator not only saves time, but also takes into account all the little things so that your partition is made to the standards, which means it is stable, reliable and durable.

Drywall consumption calculator for a partition is a convenient and easy-to-use tool that allows you to calculate the volume of all necessary consumables, as well as their estimated cost, without special knowledge.
