What tenants need to know about heating in an apartment building. How is the heating system of an apartment building and a multi-storey building adjusted?

If the system individual heating calculated correctly, no regulators are needed: a stable temperature will be maintained in each room. But here in high-rise buildings after total heating alterations, regulators can become very useful.

It is necessary to regulate the heat transfer of heating radiators for several reasons. First: it allows you to save on heating. In apartments of multi-storey buildings, bills for payment will be reduced only if a common house heat meter is installed. In private homes, with an automated boiler that maintains a stable temperature on its own, you are unlikely to need regulators for radiators. Unless you have old equipment. Then the savings will be quite significant.

The second reason why they put regulators on heating radiators is the ability to maintain that temperature regime in the room you want. You need +17 o C in one room, and +26 o C in the other, set the appropriate values \u200b\u200bon the thermal head or closed the valve, and have as warm air as you want. And it doesn’t matter if you have batteries in the apartment, and the coolant is supplied centrally, or the heating is individual. And it absolutely does not matter what the boiler is in the system. Radiator regulators have nothing to do with boilers. They work on their own

How to regulate heating batteries

To understand how the temperature is adjusted, let's remember how a heating radiator works. It is a maze of pipes with different kind ribs to increase heat transfer. Hot water enters the radiator inlet, passing through the labyrinth, it heats the metal. This, in turn, heats up the surrounding air. Due to the fact that on modern radiators the fins have a special shape that improves air movement (convection), hot air spreads very quickly. With active heating, a noticeable flow of heat comes from the radiators.

This battery is very hot. In this case, the regulator must be installed

From all this it follows that by changing the amount of coolant passing through the battery, it is possible to change the temperature in the room (within certain limits). This is what the corresponding fittings do - control valves and thermostats.

We must say right away that no regulators can increase heat transfer. They just lower it. If the room is hot - put it on, if it's cold - this is not your option.

How effectively the temperature of the batteries changes depends, firstly, on how the system is designed, whether there is a power reserve heating appliances, and secondly, on how correctly the regulators themselves are selected and installed. A significant role is played by the inertia of the system as a whole, and the heating devices themselves. For example, aluminum heats up and cools down quickly, while cast iron, which has a large mass, changes temperature very slowly. So with cast iron there is no point in changing something: it is too long to wait for the result.

Options for connecting and installing control valves. But in order to be able to repair the radiator without stopping the system, you need to install a ball valve before the regulator (click on the picture to enlarge it)

How to increase the heat dissipation of batteries

Whether it is possible to increase the heat transfer of the radiator depends on how it was calculated, and whether there is a power reserve. If the radiator just can't deliver more heat, then any means of adjustment will not help here. But you can try to change the situation in one of the following ways:

Main disadvantage regulated systems is that they need a certain power reserve of all devices. And this additional funds A: Each section costs money. But it's not a pity to pay for comfort. If your room is hot, life is not a joy, just like in a cold one. And control valves are a universal way out.

There are many devices that can change the amount of coolant flowing through the heater (radiator, register). There are quite inexpensive options, there are those with a decent cost. Available with manual adjustment, automatic or electronic. Let's start with the cheapest.

Valves or faucets

These are the least expensive, but, unfortunately, the most inefficient radiator adjustment devices.

Ball Valves

Often at the entrance to the battery they put Ball Valves and with their help regulate the flow of the coolant. But this equipment has a different purpose: it is a shut-off valve. They are needed in the system, but to completely turn off the coolant flow. In the event, for example, if the heater is leaking. Then the ball valves standing at the inlet and outlet of the heating radiator will allow it to be repaired or replaced without stopping the system and draining the coolant.

Ball valves are not intended for adjustment. They have only two operating states: fully "closed" and cavity "open". All intermediate positions harm.

Ball valves are shut-off valves and are not suitable for adjusting the radiator

What harm? Inside this tap is a ball with a hole (hence the name - ball). In regular positions (open or closed), nothing threatens him. But in other cases, the solid particles contained in the coolant (there are especially many of them in centralized heating systems) gradually grind off and break off pieces. As a result, the valve becomes leaky. Then, even if it is in the “closed” position, the coolant continues to flow into the radiator. And it’s good if an accident doesn’t happen at this time, and you don’t need to turn off the water. But if, suddenly, this happens, repairs cannot be avoided. At the very least, you need to change flooring, and what will need to be repaired in the lower room depends on how quickly the utility workers (or you, if you have own house). Yes, the ball valve can work in emergency mode for some time, but it still breaks. And sooner rather than later.

For those who still decide to regulate the radiator in this way, it should be borne in mind that they must also be installed correctly, otherwise “pleasant” conversations with the management company cannot be avoided. Since this method is more often resorted to in apartment buildings, we will talk about how to connect them when vertical wiring. Most often, the wiring is single-pipe vertical. This is when a pipe enters the room through the ceiling. It has a radiator connected to it. A pipe exits from the second radiator inlet and goes through the floor to the lower room.

Here you need to put the taps correctly: the mandatory installation of a bypass - a bypass pipe. It is needed so that when the flow to the radiators in the apartment is closed (the tap is completely or partially closed), water circulates in the common house system.

Sometimes ball valve is placed on the bypass. By changing the amount of coolant passing through it, it is also possible to change the heat transfer of the heating battery. In this case, for greater system reliability and the ability to turn off the taps, there should be three: two cut-off valves on radiators that will work in regular modes, and the third, which will be regulatory. But there is one pitfall here: sometimes you can forget what position the cranes are in, or the children will play. Result: the entire riser is blocked, cold in the apartments, unpleasant conversations with neighbors and the manager.

So that it is better not to use ball valves for adjusting heating batteries. There are other devices designed specifically to change the amount of coolant flowing through the battery.

needle valve

This device in the heating system is usually installed in front of the pressure gauge. In other places, it does more harm than good. It's all about the structure. The device itself effectively and smoothly changes the flow of the coolant, gradually blocking it.

But the thing is that due to the design features, the width of the passage for the coolant in them is less than two times. For example, you have inch pipes installed, and they have a needle valve of the same size. But its capacity is half as much: the saddle is only ½ inch. That is, each needle valve installed in the system reduces throughput systems. Several consecutive installed devices, for example, in a one-pipe system, they will lead to the fact that the last heaters will either not heat up at all, or will be barely warm. Therefore, the often recommended one-pipe scheme with needle valves in practice leads to the fact that most of the radiators either do not heat at all, or heat very weakly.

  • removing the needle valve;
  • doubling the number of sections,
  • by installing a device that has twice the large couplings (a two-inch valve will need to be installed on inch pipes, which is unlikely to suit anyone).

Radiator control valves

Especially for manual adjustment of radiators intended radiator valves (taps). They are available with angled or direct connection. The principle of operation of this manual temperature controller is as follows. By turning the valve, you lower or raise the shut-off cone. In the closed position, the cone completely shuts off the flow. Moving up / down, it blocks the flow of coolant to a greater or lesser extent. Because of this principle of operation, these devices are also called " mechanical regulator temperature." It is installed on threaded radiators, it is connected to pipes using fittings, more often crimp fittings, but there are different types that are compatible with different types pipes.

What is a radiator valve good for? It is reliable, it is not afraid of blockages and small abrasive particles that are in the coolant. This applies to quality products, the valve cone of which is made of metal and carefully processed. Their prices are not very high, which is important when big system heating. What is the downside? Each time you have to change the position manually, which is why maintaining a stable temperature is problematic. Some people are satisfied with it, some are not. For those who want a constant or strictly set temperature, more suitable

Automatic adjustment

Automatic maintenance of the temperature in the room is good because once you put the regulator knob in the right position, you will get rid of the need to twist and change something for a long time. The temperature of the heating radiators is constantly and continuously adjusted. The disadvantage of such systems is a significant cost, and the more functionality, the more expensive the device will cost. There are some more features and subtleties, but about them below.

Adjustment of radiators with thermostats

For maintaining a constant set temperature in the room (room) use thermostats or thermostats for heating radiators. Sometimes this device may be called "thermostatic valve", "thermostatic valve", etc. There are many names, but one device is meant. To make it clearer, it is necessary to explain that the thermal valve and thermal valve are the lower part of the device, and the thermal head and thermoelement are the upper ones. And the whole device is a radiator thermostat or thermostat.

Most of these devices do not require any power source. The exception is models with a digital screen: batteries are inserted into the thermostatic head. But the period of their replacement is quite long, the consumed currents are small.

Structurally, the radiator thermostat consists of two parts:

  • thermostatic valve (sometimes called "body", "thermal valve", "thermal valve");
  • thermostatic head (also called "thermostatic element", "thermoelement", "thermal head").

The valve itself (body) is made of metal, usually brass or bronze. Its design is similar to that of a manual valve. Most firms lower part the radiator thermostat is made unified. That is, heads of any type and any manufacturer can be installed on one housing. Let's clarify: on one thermal valve, you can put a thermoelement of both manual, and mechanical, and automatic type. It is very comfortable. If you want to change the adjustment method, you do not need to buy the whole device. They put another thermostatic element and that's it.

AT automatic regulators the principle of influence on the shut-off is different. In the manual regulator, its position is changed by turning the handle, in automatic models usually there is a bellows that presses on a spring-loaded mechanism. In electronics, everything is controlled by the processor.

The bellows is the main part of the thermal head (thermoelement). It is a small sealed cylinder that contains a liquid or gas. Both liquid and gas have the same common property: their volume strongly depends on temperature. When heated, they significantly increase their volume, stretching the cylinder-bellows. It presses on the spring, blocking the coolant flow more strongly. As it cools, the volume of the gas / liquid decreases, the spring rises, the coolant flow increases, and heating occurs again. Such a mechanism, depending on the calibration, allows you to maintain the set temperature with an accuracy of 1 o C.

How the thermostat works, see the video.

The radiator thermostat can be:

  • with manual temperature control;
  • with automatic;
    • with built-in temperature sensor;
    • with remote (wired).

There are also special models for one-pipe and two-pipe systems, housings made of different metals.

Use of three-way valves

A three-way valve to regulate the temperature of the batteries is rarely used. He has a slightly different mission. But in principle, it is possible.

A three-way valve is installed at the junction of the bypass and the supply pipe leading to the radiator. To stabilize the temperature of the coolant, it must be equipped with a thermostatic head (of the type described above). If the temperature near the three-way valve head rises above the set value, the coolant flow to the radiator is blocked. It all rushes through the bypass. After cooling, the valve works in the opposite direction, and the radiator heats up again. This connection method is implemented for, and more often with vertical wiring.

Results

Adjustment of radiators is possible using different devices, but this must be done correctly with the help of special control valves. These are manual regulators (faucets) and automated - thermostats, in some cases it is possible to use a three-way valve with a thermal head.

In which case what to use? AT high-rise apartments with central heating preferable three-way valve and control valves. And all because the gap in the thermostats for the coolant is not very wide, and if there are foreign particles in the coolant, it quickly becomes clogged. Therefore, they are recommended for use in individual heating systems.

If you really want an apartment automatic adjustment radiator, you can put a filter before the thermostat. Most it will retain impurities, but it will have to be washed regularly. When you feel that the radiator has become too cold, check the filter.

In private houses with battery regulation, everything is simple: what suits you best, then put it.

This page is devoted to such a significant topic as adjusting heating batteries in an apartment: how to adjust the system in apartment building how to set up a radiator using a Mayevsky crane, methods for regulating heat supply.

More and more residents are thinking about how to regulate heating batteries in an apartment. apartment buildings.

This is due both to the desire to save heat in order to reduce payment for it, and the ability to control its quality.

As life shows in its examples, often heating season and colds come suddenly, when the services that are in charge of heat are not ready for them.

Temperature standards in the room

Surely, every resident would like to have a heating regulator in an apartment building in order to use it to create comfortable living conditions for themselves in winter period. In fact, not everyone knows what it is, and why you need to adjust the heating in the apartment.

In fact, it allows:

  1. The carrier can move freely through the pipes of the heating circuit avoiding airiness. This allows him to fully give heat to the room, creating a pleasant microclimate.
  2. It makes it possible to reduce costs up to 20-25% by reducing the heating of radiators. As practice shows, lowering the heating of the air in the room by only 1 degree saves up to 6%.
  3. Adjusting the temperature of the heating battery in the apartment allows you to increase the heat supply if it's not enough.

Any adjustment or tuning work heating system it is better to do before the start of the heating season.

To determine how much to raise or lower the temperature in the system, you need to know what is considered normal. If we turn to SNiP, then it says that for corner rooms it is +20-22, and for the rest - +18 degrees.

Based on these data, the consumer knows that adjusting the temperature of the heating radiators in the apartment helped him save money if he cooled it himself, or vice versa.

Unfortunately, not all residential buildings can be equipped with heat regulators:

  1. If in a multi-storey building a vertical top wiring pipeline, it is not possible to install control valves. This means that the coolant supply starts from upper floors, so there in any frost "Africa" and the residents are forced to open the windows, while on the lower floors the radiators are slightly warm.
  2. If there is a single-pipe system in the building, there is no such problem., since the carrier, having passed through all the batteries, returns back to the central riser. This allows heat to be evenly distributed throughout all rooms, regardless of their number of storeys, and control valves are installed on the supply pipe for all radiators.
  3. The two-pipe system, although considered somewhat more expensive, is nevertheless the best, both in terms of heat supply and its regulation. It provides separate pipes to feed media and return it to the system. In such a scheme, the adjustment of the heating radiator in the apartment is carried out separately in each room, since they are all equipped with special valves or automatic devices.

As practice shows, those who have heat supply regulators in their apartments can be called lucky. This allows them to create comfortable living conditions for themselves and optimize costs.

Heat control methods

The main task of regulation is to achieve a certain heating of the air in the room.

You can do this by using the following methods:

  1. quantitative called a method in which locking mechanism or circulation pump changing the flow rate of the coolant into the system. The amount of carrier decreases as it slows down, and it passes much less per unit of time.
  2. If you change the quality of the media, affecting its heating, it turns out qualitative method adjustment of the heating system.

If high-quality equipment is installed in an apartment building, then these 2 methods are performed simultaneously.

Adjusting the heating in an apartment building in the first way is considered simple if it is done by a circulation pump. When it gets cold, he "drives" the coolant through the system with high speed. It has become hot, its work is slowing down, and the carrier is flowing at a minimum pace.

Such mechanisms are equipped with automation that allows you to set the economy mode, for example, at night or when no one is in the apartment.

At this method there is a disadvantage. The temperature drops in all rooms equally, which is not entirely acceptable, for example, for a child's room or a bath.

The best option for adjusting the heating is the one where each radiator is individually equipped with a special device. So you can install comfortable temperature in any room, for example, lowering it in the kitchen, where hot radiators are not needed, or raising it in the bedroom.

Types of control devices

In many ways, the ability to really influence the air temperature in the room depends on the quality of these devices.

Control valves for heating apartment building there are several types:

  1. How to shut off the heating battery in the apartment? In fact, control valve- This is a locking device heat exchanger that is attached to the radiator. One of these devices are ball valves, the main function of which is to protect the system from emergencies, and their ability to rotate 90 degrees allows you to block access to the coolant or open its way through the pipes. They can hardly be called regulatory, since their purpose is protection.

    The ball valve must either be open or closed. In a half-hearted state, the seal is damaged over time, and it leaks.

  2. Standard valves are budget option control devices, and the use of them is the same. Since they do not have a temperature scale, one can only guess how much the conditions in the apartment will change when they are opened or closed.
  3. How to regulate the heating in the apartment? Adjustment of the heating system of an apartment building using device equipped with a thermal head, makes it possible to control the level of heating and cooling of the heating system.

The last type of thermostats is of two types:

  1. Direct acting device, based on a siphon with a gas or a special liquid that reacts to any temperature changes in the coolant. If it warms up, then the carrier inside the siphon, sealed into the body, will expand and put pressure on a special valve. He, moving under pressure, blocks the access to the heat carrier of the heating system. When the temperature drops, the reverse process occurs.
  2. Better but more an expensive option is an regulator with electronic sensor . Having set the necessary parameters for it, the automation will independently track any violations of the parameters in one direction or another.

How to regulate the heating in an apartment building? To really know how to set up heating batteries in an apartment, it is better to purchase a high-quality thermostat, set the necessary parameters for it, and be sure that everything is under its tireless control. This device, by regulating the supply of media to the system, will help save on heating costs, thus justifying its profitability.

Adjusting the heating batteries in the apartment: increasing heat transfer

It happens that the quality of the services provided by management companies is not always up to the mark and people experience discomfort in their homes. In this case, they wonder what to do if the heating in the apartment is weak? The answer may be to find the cause of the cold in the premises. Either these are defects in the system, or an increase in the heat transfer of radiators is required.

Cold batteries happen for several reasons:

  1. The system is aired and a carrier drain will be required to remove air from the pipes.
  2. Connection errors were made For example, if the bypass is left open, the circulation of the media is interrupted.
  3. Initially incorrect system calculations, for example, by the quantity and quality of radiators or pipe diameters.
  4. Heating systems tend to clog over long periods of use., which greatly interferes with the normal movement of the carrier through the pipes, and as a result, the batteries are slightly warm.

Other defects are possible, but it is better to entrust their search to specialists.

In the event that you just need to increase the efficiency of batteries, then this can be done in the following way:

  1. If there is not enough thermal power due to incorrect calculations, then it is enough to connect additional sections to the battery to make the room warmer.
  2. Sometimes it is worth checking the efficiency of the battery connection. For example, if the reverse side was used, then this reduces the efficiency of the radiator by 20-25%. If the heating system allows you to change the connection, then, after agreeing this with the employees of the management company, you need to do this.

Sometimes it happens that the tenants are dissatisfied with the heat, not the cold, then they wonder how to turn down the heating in the apartment. This can be done only with the help of a thermostat, but not by overlapping the batteries. As experts note, sometimes you need to balance the system so that it works flawlessly, and you can do it yourself.

How to adjust the heating batteries in the apartment - video:

Why is the apartment cold?

When it turns out that one part of the system is hot and the other is not, you should find out how to adjust the heating radiator in the apartment. Sometimes this is easy to do if it has thermostats installed. Otherwise, you will have to seek help from specialists.

Reasons for cold batteries:

  1. Before the start of the season, the system must be purged, which is carried out by heating network technicians.
  2. Operational adjustment is carried out during the heating season in order to see the results of system readjustment. For this, control devices are used.
  3. Sometimes it is necessary to change the location of the batteries or their location relative to the floor and window sill. Incorrectly mounted, they do not allow warm air to circulate freely around the room, hence the cold.
  4. If the heating circuit is outdated, then balancing the heating system in an apartment building will not help, since a complete replacement of radiators and risers is required.

Sometimes the sudden imbalance of the batteries and the cold in the apartment are caused by the fact that the neighbors put in new batteries by removing the thermostats. In this case, the issue is also solved by replacing the radiators.

Additional methods of regulation

When dissatisfaction with the quality of services from the heating network becomes large, people begin to look for opportunities, ways to regulate the heating system in an apartment building, how to fix the situation, and what to install so that the apartment becomes warm and pays less for it. In this case, errors are possible that can lead to a breakdown in the network of the entire house.

For example, adjusting the heating system of an apartment building with valves is strictly prohibited.

They belong to the category of shut-off valves, therefore they can only operate in two positions: “open” and “closed”. Residents, not knowing this, try to leave the valves ajar, which puts them out of action.

System weather regulation heating in an apartment building will be useful if a common house meter is installed in it. Only in this case, such a device saves up to 35% of heat consumption. At the heart of the weather heating controller for an apartment building is a sensor that detects temperature changes outside and reacts to them by changing the temperature in the network. Such a device, together with the installation, will cost the residents of the house more than 500,000 rubles.

Adjustment of heating batteries with Mayevsky cranes helps with the airiness of the system, which is sometimes enough to make the batteries warm.

Drawing conclusions, we can say that today the question of who regulates the heating temperature in an apartment building is especially relevant. Residents wish to participate in this process, and if the heating system allows, they apply to the management household with applications for the installation of thermostats on their radiators.

The choice of devices for this is quite large in the domestic market and their installation does not take much time, but gives tangible results, both in terms of heat quality and its savings. Therefore, it is worth learning how thermostats work, apply for their installation, and then enjoy comfortable warmth in your apartment.

Regulation of the heating system implies bringing the process of consumption of thermal energy in line with the real needs for it. A simple example: the colder it is outside, the more intensively the heating system should work and, conversely, when the air temperature in the house rises above the limit value, the temperature of the coolant in the heating devices should decrease.

The easiest way to regulate the heating system is to manually control the operation of the boiler and heating devices: it is hot in the house, you can turn off the coolant supply valve to the heating device, as a result of which return water will return to the boiler hot, which will lead to the shutdown of the boiler or to a decrease in fuel consumption.

An even simpler way to regulate the heating system is to temporarily turn off the boiler and turn it on when the room temperature drops. To date, similar manual control» is outdated and it is possible to talk about it only in relation to heating appliances that do not have automatic control systems, for example, to wood stoves or to some types of wood-burning heating boilers.

Modern heating control systems solve two problems simultaneously:

    allow you to create really comfortable conditions in the house, maintaining a given temperature level in it

    optimize fuel consumption and, as a result, reduce heating costs

The heating system is adjusted according to one of two parameters

    Outdoor temperature

    Indoor temperature

It is believed that more comfortable conditions in a private house can be obtained by changing the temperature of the coolant, depending on the conditions inside the room. This is explained simply: heat loss do not always linearly depend on the outside temperature: it is necessary to take into account the wind speed and the location of the building relative to the cardinal points.

For apartment buildings and systems central heating more important is the outdoor air temperature, which makes it possible to obtain averaged results immediately for all consumers of thermal energy.

Methods for regulating heating systems

As mentioned above, the main task of regulating the heating system is to maintain a certain temperature level in the room. You can do this in several ways:

    By changing the speed of movement of the coolant through the heating device using shut-off valves or using a circulation pump. In this case, there is a change in the amount of coolant passing through the heating device per unit of time. This method is called quantitative.

    By changing the heating temperature of the coolant (changing its quality). This method is called qualitative.

It should be noted that both methods are inextricably linked with each other and in systems High Quality are used at the same time.

Practical implementation of method No. 1

The easiest way to control heating is to change the operating modes of the circulation pump depending on the temperature in the room: it is cold, the pump operates at maximum speed, which ensures the most intense heat transfer from heating devices. It became hot: the coolant movement speed is minimal. At night or during the day, when all residents of the house are at work or at school, the heat saving mode can also be used, which provides for a minimum flow rate of water in the heating system.

The disadvantage of heating control with a circulation pump is general approach to all rooms in the house, regardless of the actual need for thermal energy.

More accurate, local regulation of the heating system can be obtained by controlling the operation of a single radiator.

How to control the operation of a heating radiator?

In practice, it is possible to change the flow rate of the coolant using automatic heads, the design of which includes a valve and a temperature sensor that responds to changes in the temperature in the room. The principle of operation of the device is quite simple: the head cavity is filled with liquid, the volume of which depends on temperature: when it gets cold, the volume of liquid decreases, the valve opens, while increasing the flow rate of the coolant. When the temperature in the room rises, on the contrary: the volume of liquid increases, the valve closes, blocking the movement of the coolant.

The disadvantage of automatic heads is their low reliability and frequent failure. More perfect and reliable is the method of heating control using a servo driven and blocking the supply of coolant to the radiator, also depending on the temperature in the room.

Both the automatic head and the servo drive are designed to change the temperature of the coolant not in the entire heating system, but only in one individual radiator. If there are several heaters in the room, each of them will have to be equipped with such automatic control systems. Only in this case can you really regulate the heating.

All heating devices in the house can be combined into one system automatic control heating.

Adjustment during operation

There is also another way - operational regulation. As the name implies, the heating system is regulated while it is running. This is necessary to make adjustments as needed. For example, if there is a need to increase or decrease the amount of heat (depending on the air temperature outside and meteorological conditions). The change in the amount of heat generated by the system is provided by adjusting the temperature or by changing the flow rate of the coolant. Thus, it can be conditionally divided into "qualitative" and "quantitative" options for monitoring the system.

Quality regulation carried out directly at the thermal station. There are local and group. Quantitative has three divisions: group, individual and local.

This method of controlling the system is carried out manually using valves and taps, and automatically when the air temperature in the apartment changes. In branched systems, it is necessary to change the coolant flow rate - this should simplify the adjustment task.

In private homes, it requires knowledge about the features of individual water heating. The main task of the system is to provide optimal microclimate for the whole family. Unfortunately, quite often heating gets out of control. Most often, incorrect operation and untimely adjustment of parameters lead to inefficiency of indicators. The reasons may also be errors made in the design of heating, or poor insulation.

As practice shows, during the heating system, people do not ask themselves the question of calculations. Installation specialists prefer to do everything quickly, due to which accuracy suffers. As a result, it can be cool in one room and too hot in another. Comfort in this case can not be expected.

When evaluating the quality of the system and the efficiency of its operation, all parameters and features of your heating should be taken into account. Regardless of the power source (electric boiler or gas), the system must work smoothly, so proper regulation is the key to a warm and comfortable home.

The easiest way to regulate water circulation is to use thermostat located on the boiler. It's kind of lever device, which will allow you to switch heat costs and in this way there will be a decrease in temperature in the house. Also, if necessary, you can increase the level of heating of the liquid and thereby increase the air temperature in the house.

To create comfortable conditions in the apartment, it often becomes necessary to change the temperature of the heating devices. How can this be done? It must be understood that the intensity of heating depends not only on the temperature of the hot liquid, but also on the volume that enters the radiator. Since the coolant in centralized system It is impossible to influence the heating on its own, the temperature of the heating batteries is adjusted due to a change in the volume of liquid passing through the device.

With the help of heating batteries with a temperature controller, you can:

  • save money on bills (if applicable) individual counters heat in the apartment);
  • maintain a temperature regime in each room;
  • avoid drafts from open windows and give up blankets on radiators if too high temperature heating.

Most often, regulators are installed on batteries in rooms where the temperature often changes - in the kitchen, rooms on sunny side Houses. They may also be required where it is necessary to constantly maintain a comfortable temperature regime - in the nursery, bedroom.

Attention! Not all types of central heating systems allow the adjustment of radiators. It is impossible to adjust the batteries in multi-storey buildings in which the heat-carrying fluid is supplied vertically from top to bottom. Changing the temperature of radiators using a control valve is available in buildings with one-pipe and.

Types of temperature regulators for batteries

Devices that allow you to adjust the temperature of heating radiators can be divided into several groups depending on their design and principle of operation.

Stopcocks

The simplest device that can change the temperature of the batteries is a shut-off valve. He can control the supply at the most primitive level hot water from the heating system of the house. Shut-off valves has the form of a ball valve, which has only two positions:

  • "closed" - the movement of hot liquid is stopped, the battery is cooling down;
  • “open” - the maximum volume of coolant passes through the radiator, and it heats at full strength.

A significant disadvantage of using stopcock is the need for constant manipulation. It is impossible to create a stable temperature regime using this device.

Important! The ball valve must not be left in an intermediate position, as the shut-off valve is damaged by solid particles in the heating water.

It is possible to use a tap to regulate the temperature of the radiator only if a bypass (bypass pipe) is installed in front of the battery. Otherwise, a closed tap will disrupt the circulation of the coolant in the common house system.

Manual valves

Valves with manual adjustment allow you to change the volume of coolant entering the radiator by increasing or decreasing the diameter of the through hole.

As part of the cone valve there is a valve having a locking head. It, in turn, is connected to the handle, on which a scale with divisions can be applied. Turning the handle causes the locking head to move and change the volume of the incoming coolant to a smaller or larger side. Marks on the scale allow you to set the desired temperature of the battery.

Manual valves are simple, reliable and inexpensive, but require regular monitoring.

Automatic thermostats

There is more perfect type regulators for batteries, able to respond to the temperature of the air in the room and automatically vary the degree of heating of the radiator. In this case, the change in the diameter of the flow section of the valve, which doses the volume of the incoming liquid, occurs according to the signal of the temperature sensor.

Automatic heat regulators are divided into two types:

  • thermostatic;
  • electronic.

In the following video, you can clearly get acquainted with the principle of operation of the thermostat.

In its design, the thermostatic device resembles a manual valve. At the same time, a thermostatic head is installed on its valve, which controls its operation. The thermal head includes:

  • a thermal sensor that reacts to air temperature and is connected to the shut-off head of the valve;
  • adjustment mechanism having a control handle and a tuning scale.

You can select the room temperature, which will be maintained at a constant level without further intervention, by turning the knob in accordance with the desired value on the scale.

Such thermostats allow not only to maintain the required temperature with maximum accuracy, but also make it possible to program their operation. For example, daily on weekdays during the absence of tenants in the apartment, the degree of heating of the devices automatically decreases, and before the arrival of the owners, the rooms will again warm up to the optimum temperature.

Tip: You don't have to buy a new thermostat to change the way the batteries are adjusted. It is usually possible to install any type of thermocouple on one valve: manual or automatic.

Details about self installation and setting the thermostat for the heating battery is written in.

An unconventional device for controlling the temperature of heating appliances is a three-way valve, shown in the photo below. It is placed at the junction of the bypass and the supply pipe that goes to the battery. In order for the device to perform the function of stabilizing the heating level of the radiator, it must have a thermostatic head.

  • If the temperature near the head rises above the required value, the coolant supply to the battery is stopped, the fluid flow moves through the bypass.
  • When cooling occurs, the valve opens again and the radiator heats up.

This adjustment method is used in single pipe systems having vertical wiring.
