Layout of a small country house. Layout of a country house: features of the choice of materials

Many of our compatriots, when acquiring or inheriting a summer cottage, receive along with it a small building. Large country house this is great, but you can’t accelerate much on Soviet 6 acres, so classic one-story summer cottages 6x4 without insulation or country houses from block containers.

Standard house 6x4

Summer cottages of this size have been built for about 30 years. For areas with a small quadrature, this best option, provided that there is a desire to set up another garden and vegetable garden.

wooden house

Suppose you have already received light wooden country house 6 by 4. It is impossible to demolish and build a new one, since this requires serious investments. But you can rebuild and insulate an already finished structure, having received good dacha for reasonable money.

Initially, you need to carefully examine bearing beams and if they are in order, you can start retrofitting. The height of an ordinary gable roof does not always allow you to equip an attic under it, so it is better to dismantle the old structures and re-roof it. It is optimal to make it a broken line, thereby expanding the space for the second floor.

Walls can be insulated from the inside and outside. In our opinion, it is not advisable to insulate from the inside. First, the mass is eaten usable space without that small house. Secondly, if the house is not new, then exterior finish greatly improve its appearance.

Both floors and interfloor overlap can be insulated with foam, but it is better to use expanded clay. The price will not be much higher, but the material is environmentally friendly and vapor-permeable. As for the walls, here you can also use foam, but better quality mineral wool followed by cladding or siding.

Tip: when choosing between polystyrene foam and mineral wool, you should ask about the quality of the mineral wool.
The fact is that cheap mats will Low quality and will soon begin to crumble, causing serious harm to health.
Therefore, if it is not possible to buy high-quality mineral insulation, take foam.

House from block container

This type of building in summer cottages is common. In fact, this is quite convenient, because you immediately get a ready-made sealed, often insulated structure with a subfloor, walls and ceiling. The width of such a block is about 2.5 m, the length varies from 3 to 6 m.

So by connecting 2 four-meter blocks, you immediately get a one-story country house 5 by 4. It used to be popular to use construction trailers, which, in fact, are also a kind of container block and have similar dimensions. With a competent approach, all these structures can be entered into overall plan new home.

Monolithic strip foundation for such a structure it is possible to fill in, but this is not advisable. It is much faster and more profitable to lay it with your own hands.

The instruction is elementary simple.

  • Pits are dug along the load lines in increments of 1.5 - 2 m, with a depth exceeding the freezing point by 100 mm.
  • After that, a sand and gravel cushion is made and well compacted.
  • Next, a reinforced concrete layer is poured, minimum thickness filling 150 mm.
  • On such a base, you can simply lay several levels of cinder block, this will be enough for a light wooden or frame structure . But we advise you to lay out cabinets from solid bricks. Masonry is done by a well, inner space reinforced and filled with concrete.

Important: if you subsequently wish to build a house from foam or aerated concrete, then brick-concrete, reinforced pillars can easily withstand such a construction and you will not need to fill in a new foundation.

A country house 4 by 4 or 4x6 can be made from a block of containers using 1 container to which it is attached open veranda or a closed vestibule with a wardrobe. To ensure the solidity of the structure, it is necessary to weld a single strapping from a metal I-beam from below. On this basis, you can confidently build a house with an attic.

For the construction of an extension frame for a house with an attic, it is recommended to use wooden beam section 100x100 mm or 100x50 mm. To expand a one-story change house, a beam of 50x50 mm is enough.

House layout

A country house 4 by 5, assembled from 2 blocks of containers 2.5x4m, without an attic will be quite miniature. Therefore, in this case, the attic add-on will not only increase the number of square meters, but also turn your cottage into small house from a fairytale.

Plan country house 4 by 5 from block containers, might look something like this. The first block will be occupied by the kitchen and a small wardrobe, the second will be used as a living room or bedroom. In the two-story version, the possibilities are much greater. Here the first block is divided into wardrobe and spiral staircase on the second floor, in the second block there will be a living room combined with a kitchen, and upstairs there will be 2 bedrooms.

Important: the use of block containers for the construction of summer cottages is also convenient because the metal is already covered with anti-corrosion paint, plus the wavy configuration of the sheet provides good ventilation for external insulation.

Let's talk about the attic

As mentioned earlier, the attic in houses with a small quadrature is best done with a sloping roof.

We will proceed from the fact that the second floor must be fully insulated and suitable for use in the winter.

  • Let's start with the fact that for roof insulation on greater territory our country needs at least 200 mm. The price of monolithic rafters with such a depth will be higher, so it is more profitable to splice 2 beams of 100x50 mm, plus such a beam is well suited for.
  • From the outside, a crate is stuffed, on which slate or other roofing material. From the inside, the crate and rafters are knocked out waterproofing film with little ventilation.
  • The insulation itself is mounted on the waterproofing, it is advisable to use high-quality mineral wool, but foam plastic may be suitable as an economy option.
  • Next, the insulation is hemmed with a layer of vapor barrier, which is fixed with lathing strips. You can already attach the facing material to the crate to your liking, but the most common option for giving is lining.

Tip: 2-3 people can rebuild a finished house or build a structure based on a block of containers in a week, a maximum of 2.
Therefore, if there is no power supply yet, renting a diesel generator for giving will help you out.

Conclusion

If on your suburban area there is a small house, do not despair, with a strong desire, using the recommendations of the specialists of our site, you will be able to qualitatively rebuild and insulate the structure with your own hands.

That is why small buildings up to 30 sq. m. can act both as a store with essential goods, and as a full-fledged home for seasonal or year-round residence of a small family.

  • Savings on building and finishing materials;
  • Speed of erection (in the warm season in dry weather up to 9 days);
  • Inexpensive upkeep and maintenance of the house;
  • Compact placement on a small plot of land;
  • Fast cleaning in a small area;
  • Reduced home heating costs and longer heat retention; no separate room for the boiler is required.
  • Large selection of planning solutions for small houses.

One of milestones in the construction of an inexpensive, comfortable dwelling on small area earth. A competent project of a 5 by 5 house will help to rationally arrange a space that is comfortable for work, leisure and household chores.

Layout of the interior of houses up to 30 sq. m.

Each extra square meter in the drawing of houses with a small area provides additional features for arrangement interior spaces. A smarter approach to learning additional area- Guaranteed to create the optimal layout.

5x4 area possibilities

The layout of a 5x4 house requires special close attention due to the most compact area. Nevertheless, such a tiny house can become a full-fledged place of secluded relaxation for visiting guests or an isolated steam room / sauna with a spacious room for relaxation and tea drinking. This space is also optimal for arranging a store, as well as an isolated place of work (you can organize a creative studio, a library with an office for remote work, or a small workshop quite successfully even on a 5x4 area).

5x5 area possibilities

The inner territory of the house 5x5 gives more possibilities. So, on a 5x5 house plan, it is already possible to allocate a terrace in the house, which can be equipped as a summer kitchen or dining room, freeing it from the cooking area. Inside, in addition to a spacious living room for general relaxation and mandatory, you can design an isolated bedroom and a small study (or nursery).

5x6 area possibilities

The maximum benefits are visible when planning a 5 by 6 house: a spacious terrace, isolated rooms, a bathroom, a dressing room or a steam room, a kitchen-salon - all these rooms can be compactly and conveniently placed with a rational approach. In addition, houses of this size can be equipped for a small roadside cafe, delimiting kitchen area and a hall for several tables with a bar counter.

The compact area of a small country house should not cause discomfort to stay in it! Competent design will allow you to correctly calculate the necessary living space, as well as to equip non-residential spaces and zones for household needs.

Ways to increase the living space of the house

Economic and rational owner of a small country house always has a desire to win extra square meters for creating more comfort. This task is especially relevant if the house is designed for year-round living. It is recommended to pay attention to the following ways to increase the living area of the house up to 30 sq.m and take them into account already at the design stage.

  1. for living quarters, electric sauna, gym, library.
  2. Construction of the second floor (most radical way a significant increase in living space. On the second floor there are rooms where privacy and peace are required - an office, bedrooms. An increase in the cost of construction and Finishing work and purchase of materials; you will also have to take care of more reliable strength properties of the foundation and load-bearing walls).
  3. Insulation and glazing of the terrace (this technique transforms the terrace into the category of internal utility rooms; on a warm terrace, protected from precipitation, wind and insects, you can equip a dining room, an office or a year-round kitchen).
  4. Roof installation attic type, as a rule, costs the same or slightly more than with the traditional one, but the result is two levels that are equally suitable for arranging a bedroom, office, or children's playroom).
  5. Organization bed under symmetrical gable roof(even at the stage of roof installation, care should be taken to build a reliable horizontal platform under it; thus, you can create a second level by effectively using the non-working vertical space, which will allow you not to occupy the main horizontal area with a bed or folding sofa).
  6. (such a roof rests on the walls different heights, which makes it possible to build a small shed on supports or a ramp near a higher wall; high-rise platform can be used as working area or a small dressing room by installing a ladder to it).
  • Refusal of an isolated kitchen in favor of a common space that combines cooking, dining and recreation areas;
  • The choice of a wall-mounted boiler for heating, which does not require a separate room and can be compactly placed in the kitchen area or in the bathroom;
  • Maximum use vertical space for storing objects and things (shelves-niches recessed into the wall, wall-mounted pencil cases and cabinets, shelves on consoles);
  • Acquisition multifunctional furniture for interior design; especially practical corner models, allowing you to fill in the usually empty area of \u200b\u200bthe corners, freeing up more convenient space.
  • If you bought a plot outside the city, then you may need a layout of a country house 6x9 or other sizes, but, nevertheless, it is not the location of the rooms that is important here, but the amenities that you can create there without spending a lot of money . The greatest need in terms of comfortable living can be attributed to plumbing and so that you have the opportunity to wash and go to a warm toilet, which will also be in the house.

    In addition, they are small - and they won’t take up much space, and the area will increase, and we’ll talk about this below and show the video in this article.

    Convenient country project

    Note. On the suburban area you can use almost any building materials that are used to build ordinary houses, but you can also build country houses from block containers. But basically, in such cases, wood is used (timber, logs, shields) or cellular concrete (foam blocks, gas blocks, etc.), although preference is given in most cases to foam concrete.

    materials

    • As we have said, the layout country house 4x5m, 6x9m or other sizes are available with different materials, and this will directly depend on their cost in a particular region, as well as on climatic conditions. For example, timber or rounded logs can be both solid and glued material, which will significantly affect the quality of construction and the cost of production.
    • A solid profile shrinks, therefore, upon completion of work, you need to wait a certain time to proceed with the finishing (wood blackens under the influence of atmospheric phenomena). But in the case of a glued profile, shrinkage does not occur, and the cladding is useless there - all kinds of impregnations preserve the texture and color of the wood, so this is also a facing material at the same time.

    • Block materials also differ in technical specifications- density, water absorption, thermal conductivity and frost resistance. Certainly, cellular concrete are lightweight, for which they are so popular, especially autoclaved products, which have almost perfect geometric shapes. For example, expanded clay concrete has a very low thermal conductivity, but its price is quite high, aerated concrete costs much less, but has high water absorption, and in these cases foam blocks can be called the golden mean.
    • But even here it all depends on whether you are going to clad the walls with something - if so, then it is quite possible to use aerated concrete, since the cladding will protect it from moisture. As you can see, there are many options, and each is good in its own way, so it would be wrong to advise anything in this matter.

    Note. In this case, we will consider some provisions or what the instruction says when building small architectural structures from foam concrete.

    Project and Foundation

    Pay attention to the photo above, where you will see a house built with a foam concrete attic, as well as a design plan for this building, where there is a first floor (left) and an attic (right). The foundation is laid exactly according to the plan of the first floor, that is, not only the perimeter, but also all the partitions of the structure with the base lines must match here.

    In such situations (for low-rise construction from foam concrete) usually use three types of foundation - columnar, screw and tape, although preference is most often given to the latter. It is quite natural that the strip foundation is poured or assembled by hand (monolithic or prefabricated) and its depth will depend on the condition of the soil on the site.

    So, for non-heaving (stable) soils, a shallow base can be used here, but for heaving (unstable) soils, the tape must be deepened, despite the lightness of the parent structure. The depth is determined by the maximum freezing point of the soil, therefore, the bottom of the tape should be below this point (for light structures, 30-40 cm down from the critical mark is enough).

    Note. If the layout of a small country house (or a large one) is on the site where you intend to drill a well for water, then it is best that the well is indoors. In the future, this will save you from the additional hassle of digging trenches for plumbing and insulation.

    Box

    If cement-sand mortar is used for laying conventional blocks, then it is best to use tile adhesive for autoclaved foam blocks - this way you will get a seam no more than 3 mm thick and a smooth, clear line. The first row of stone is laid on a cut-off waterproofing, which also protects the walls from cold, which can be transferred to them from the ground through the foundation.
