Utilities under control or how to take meter readings. How to take readings in a short period of time

Very often a situation arises when it is not clear how to correctly take the readings of the electricity meter. Difficulties, as a rule, arise on new models of electricity meters: with an electronic display, buttons that are incomprehensible at first glance and the availability of tariffs for day and night. So that you can correctly read the data and transfer it for payment, then we will tell you how to independently take readings from the most popular models. electric meters: Mercury, Energomera and Micron.

old style models

If you have an induction electricity meter installed in your apartment or on a pole at home - a disk is spinning on the front panel, taking data is not difficult. On the same day of each month, you must write out the testimony on a leaflet. Further, everything is very simple - from the existing value you need to subtract the number that you wrote out last month. As a result, you should get a monthly electricity consumption. However, the data collection process does not end there.

Very important point, which will make the reading process a little easier - you should only take readings on the counter up to the decimal point. The last digit, which is highlighted in a different color (most often red, as shown in the photo), is not taken into account. If considered on good example how to remove the monthly consumption, then according to the photo you must write out 000004 kW / h (excluding the last four).

Further, it all depends on how the payment for electricity is made in relation to your service organization. Either you simply transfer the read readings to the organization, or you independently calculate the amount of payment and pay it according to the receipt. In the latter case, you need to multiply your removed value by the tariff that you use.

Briefly about electricity reading devices

Models of the new sample

Modern electronic meters no longer use rotating disks and mechanical dials. In such models of electricity meters, an electronic display is already installed, which, in addition to the general reading of kW / h, can display the operating time, accounting for consumption at a certain time of day, etc. All these innovations actually allow you to quickly remove the energy consumption for the month and at the same time view other equally important readings.

At first glance, it may seem that it would be difficult to take monthly electricity readings from such a mini-computer, but this is not so. Everything is much easier than you think. So, to remove the data, you must follow a few simple steps:

  1. Press the "Enter" button (you may have to press several times to find the appropriate parameter).
  2. If you have a single-tariff electric meter, write out the value of T1, two-tariff - T1 and T2, three-tariff - T1, T2 and T3.
  3. Subtract the existing values from those in the previous month.
  4. Transfer the taken readings to the service organization or independently calculate the amount payable. Here you need to take into account that if you have an electric meter for two or three tariffs, each value (T1, T2, T3) must be multiplied by its own coefficient, which is indicated on the receipt.

How to take data from the Mercury 230 electric meter?

By analogy with this video example, you can take data from the Mercury 200, Micron, Cascade, Energomera, Neva and Lane Electro devices. About we talked in the corresponding article. With proper use household appliances such electric meters are much more profitable than conventional models!

You must know!

As you can see, it’s not at all difficult to calculate the monthly electricity consumption yourself and it doesn’t even matter whether you have a single-tariff electric meter, or a multi-tariff, single-phase or three-phase, electronic or induction. We hope that the material was understandable for you and now you know how to read the electricity meter. We recommend that you watch the provided video examples, which show instructions for removing data with your own hands!

Hello, dear readers and guests of the Electrician's Notes website.

In the comments to that article, questions are often asked about the position of the comma on the drum of the counting mechanism.

To answer, I had to clarify the modification of the counter, and then answer the question posed. In this regard, I decided to write this cheat sheet.

When taking readings from electricity meters only the integer part of kilowatt-hours needs to be taken into account. For some meters, only an integer part of kilowatt-hours is located on the drum of the counting mechanism, while for others, in addition to the whole part, there are fractions of kilowatt-hours that do not need to be taken into account when taking readings.

Let's turn to GOST 6570-96, clause 6.41:

This implies the conclusion that fractions of kilowatt-hours must be separated from the whole part of kilowatt-hours by a window (frame), highlighted in a different color (most often red) and necessarily separated by a comma. When taking readings from the electric meter, only the whole part must be taken into account, i.e. numbers to the left of the decimal point.

Similarly, for kilovar-hours for reactive energy meters.

If you have an electronic meter, then in the readings on the LCD display, a dot is usually put instead of a comma. The meaning remains the same - we take into account only the whole part, i.e. all numbers up to this point.

Everything seems simple, but sometimes citizens-consumers, when taking readings, mistakenly do not take into account a comma, which means that fractions of kilowatt-hours are considered as whole kilowatt-hours. In this regard, unrealistically large electricity bills are obtained (see).

If you have any doubts that you are not taking the readings of the electric meter correctly (whether it is necessary to take into account the comma or not), then you can always contact and consult:

  • directly from the specialists of the manufacturer of your meter by contacting them by e-mail or by calling the contact number
  • in the network company that accepted your settlement meter into operation
  • on the Internet, including on this site

Especially for you, I have compiled tables for the most common single-phase and three-phase Energomer meters (data taken from the instruction manuals), where the exact position of the comma is indicated.

To use tables, you need to know:

  • type (modification) of the counter
  • rated voltage - 57.7 (V), 100 (V) or 220 (V)
  • rated (base) and maximum current - 1-7.5 (A), 5-7.5 (A), 5-50 (A), 5-60 (A) or 10-100 (A)
  • gear ratio (or meter constant) - (imp/kWh) or (imp/kWh)
  • number of digits (digits) on the reading device drum

All these data can be found in the passport, form or on the front panel of the meter.

Single-phase single-rate meters Energomera

Most often, problems arise when taking readings from meters with an electromechanical mechanism (drum), so I gave examples of only such meters. Meters with an LCD display usually have no problems - a dot (comma) is clearly displayed there in the readings.

1. CE101 meters, body type R5, S6, S10 and R5.1

2. Counter TsE6807B, case type Sh4 (mounting only in the shield).

Three-phase single-rate meters Energomera

1. TsE6803V, housing type P31 (mounting only on a DIN rail).

2. TsE6803V, housing type Sh33 (mounting only in the shield).

3. TsE6803V, housing type P32 (universal fastening, both on a DIN rail and in a shield).

4. TsE6804, housing type P31 (mounting on a DIN rail) and Sh33 I (mounting on a shield). The letter "I" - indicates that the indication is set in the counter opposite directions phase currents and indication of the phases of the supply voltage.

5. TsE6804, housing type P32 (mounting on a DIN rail and in a shield).

Examples of various counters for clarity

Let me give you a few examples to illustrate.

Consider a three-phase single-tariff meter modification TsE6803V 1T 220V 1-7.5A 3f.4pr. M6 Sh33:

  • 1T - one-rate
  • 1-7.5 (A) - rated (base) and maximum current
  • M6 - the number of digits on the mechanical reading device (drum)
  • Sh33 - housing for installation only in the shield
  • 3200 (imp/kWh) - gear ratio

For this counter, the comma is located after the fifth digit - 00000.0. Indications - 11656 (kW h).

Consider a three-phase single-tariff meter modification TsE6803V 1T 220V 10-100A 3f.4pr. M7 R32:

  • 1T - one-rate
  • 220 (V) rated phase voltage
  • 10-100 (A) - rated (base) and maximum current
  • 3f.4pr. — for a three-phase four-wire network
  • M7 - the number of digits on the mechanical reading device (drum)
  • P32 - universal housing mount, both on a DIN rail and in a shield
  • 320 (imp/kW h) - gear ratio

This counter does not have a comma - 0000000. Readings - 4 (kWh).

Here is a similar counter, only in a different version of the case.

Indications - 169499 (kW h).

Below is a three-phase counter TsE6803V with the same parameters, except for the rated current and gear ratio: 5-50 (A) and 640 (imp/kW h).

Indications - 93137 (kW h).

Here is an induction three-phase meter C4-5178, in which all numbers are taken into account when taking readings.

Indications - 44849 (kW h).

Induction three-phase counter SA4-I678 - when taking a reading, all numbers on the drum are taken into account.

Indications - 23531 (kW h).

Induction single-phase counter SO-IE 2-1. There are no commas on the scale; when taking readings, all numbers must be taken into account.

Indications - 2675 (kW h).

But the three-phase meter Mercury 231 AM-01 falls under an exception to the rule. It does not have a comma on the counting mechanism, but the last drum is red. According to his passport (clause 1.7), the first 5 digits indicate an integer part of kilowatt-hours, and the last digit indicates fractions of kilowatt-hours. This means that only the first five digits are taken into account when taking readings.

Apparently, the manufacturers of Mercury 231 AM-01 do not comply with the requirements of the GOST specified in the article and limited themselves to highlighting the share of kilowatt-hours only in red, without a comma.

For this counter, the comma is located after the fifth digit - 00000.0. Indications - 3833 (kWh).

P.S. I hope that this article will help you understand the readings of your metering devices. Thanks for attention. If you have any questions - write in the comments.

For monthly payment for consumed electricity, it is necessary to transfer data to the subscriber service or independently carry out calculations. In any case, it is necessary to take the readings of the electricity meter, and then take the appropriate actions. How to do this - consider further.

We take readings from induction meters

Induction meters can be distinguished by a spinning wheel, which is located just below the frame with numbers. These numbers are the meter readings. The number of digits depends on the model.

How to take readings of an inductive and electronic electricity meter

How many digits to write off

Usually there are 5, 6 or 7 digits on the induction meter display. In most cases, the last digit, less often two, are separated by a comma, color, or differ in size. All numbers after the decimal point are not taken into account when taking readings. They show tenths and hundredths of a kilowatt and should not be taken into account. That is, all numbers after the decimal point are not taken into account.

There are models with three digits "significant" and two after the decimal point

There are electricity meters that do not have decimal places. Then, when taking readings, write all the numbers

But it is worth remembering that there are models of counters in which there is no comma. In this case, when taking readings, it is necessary to write off all the numbers. If this is not done, sooner or later you will have to pay the difference, and it usually turns out to be sooo big. So be careful.

If you are not sure if your meter has a comma, write off the model, name and call the subscriber service of the electricity supplier. Let them clarify how many digits in your case need to be written off when taking readings. You can also call the controller to the house or clarify these data with the electrician of the management company.

How to shoot

Immediately after installing the meter, you were given an act in which the initial numbers are indicated. When it comes to take readings from the light meter, take a piece of paper, copy there the readings that are currently available (excluding the numbers separated by a comma). You can also not rewrite the zeros that are at the beginning - up to the first digit (see photo).

An example of an induction meter reading

For further calculations, data for the previous month is required. In the first month of use, you take them from the installation certificate, and in the future you either need to keep receipts or keep a log book. Where and how they will be stored is your choice.

Some subscriber services work in such a way that you don’t even need to count anything, you just need to transfer data at a certain period of time. Them automated system she will write it to your personal account (or the operator will do it), then she will make the accruals on her own and generate a receipt. You will only have to pay the invoice. But even in this case, for control, you can consider how much you have to pay for electricity on your own. Of course, it is unlikely that computers will make a mistake (they think), but you never know ...

How to count

For example, consider the readings in the photo above. Let the previous ones be 4852, the current ones 5101 (we ignore the numbers after the decimal point). We consider the power consumption: 5101 - 4852 = 249 kW. To find out how much you have to pay, you need to multiply the received number of kilowatts (in this case, 249 kW) by the tariff. Get the amount that you have to pay for the light.

If the counter is standing for a long time, sooner or later it will “reset” - zeros will appear in the first positions. How to calculate the electricity consumption in this case? Everything is very simple. This time, you will have to rewrite the readings with all zeros, and put “1” in front of the first. For example, you sewed to take readings from the counter, and there only the last digits are different from zero. Or, as in the photo below, it costs only one.

After zeroing, there may be such a picture, or there may be two digits other than zero, or three ...

Rewrite the value as it is, with all zeros (but do not write the numbers after the decimal point), put one before the first zero, and then count as before. Let's count the readings in the photo. We write off the reading by putting “1” in front: 100001. Let the last readings be 99863. Subtract 100001 - 99863 = 138 kW. Total consumption for the reporting period amounted to 138 kW. In the future, write off the readings of the electric meter as before, without leading zeros and without substituting a unit.

Readings of electronic electricity meters

IN electronic electricity meters not a mechanical scoreboard with "jumping" numbers was installed, but an electronic one. It can display not only numbers showing how many kilowatts have been spent, but also the date, meter operation time, and some other data. In most electronic light meters, these data change each other after a few seconds. If the meter is multi-zone, readings for each zone (T1, T2, T3, T4) are sequentially displayed.

To take readings of an electronic type electricity meter, you can wait until the necessary information appears and write it off. The second option is to press the enter button. You may have to click more than once - until the necessary information appears. It can be identified by the icons that appear on the screen. Usually this is T1, T2, T3, T4 or the word TOTAL.

For example, in the photo below, on the screen in the upper left corner we see the T1 icon and a little further than the number bigger size- 72.69. If you look closely, there are units of measurement behind them - kWh. This is the consumed electricity in the first zone T1 (daily tariff).

An example of an electronic meter reading

After the necessary data has been displayed, they are recorded in the receipt and then the calculations are carried out (described above). If the data just needs to be transferred to the subscriber service, they can be written down on a piece of paper.

Be careful! Here, too, it is necessary to rewrite only the whole part, ignoring the decimal places. For example, in this case (in the photo above), it is necessary to transfer or carry out calculations only with the number 72 without a “tail”.

On the electronic meter Energomera looks a little different

How to take readings from a Mercury 200 meter

There are single-rate Mercury counters (in the specification they are designated as 200.00), and multi-tariff ones (with numbers after the dot other than zero, for example, Mercury 200 01, it can also be 02 or 03). They differ in the number of zones, as well as the presence / absence of a control panel.

Regardless of the model, readings are taken in the same way. You just have to press the "enter" button a different number of times or wait for the appearance more digits.

Mercury 200 electric meters alternately show the time, date, then tariffs for zones. First, the time is displayed in the usual tariff - hours, minutes, seconds are shown a little higher. Then, after a few seconds, the date appears on the screen. It is also displayed in the standard format: day, month, year.

Time and date

After that, the display of tariffs starts. In the left upper corner the name of the tariff appears: T1, T2, T3 or T4. Their number depends on the model you have installed. They all light up one by one. At this stage, they can be written (the whole part, without decimal places).

Indications of the two-tariff meter Mercury 200

After all tariffs, a checksum of all tariffs appears. Then the cycle repeats - time, date, tariffs, total value, etc.

The sum of the readings of all tariffs appears last.

The numbers on the screen change every 5-10 seconds, depending on the setting. You might as well write it down. But if you didn’t have time, you can switch to tariffs in manual mode. To do this, at any time press the "enter" button. In the photo it is under the red LED. Press the button (pressed / released) until the value you require appears. To switch to the next, click again. Quite easy.

It will be a little more difficult with the calculations, since you will have to calculate the number of kilowatts consumed for each zone. This is where all the difficulties end. You now know how to take readings of a multi-tariff electricity meter. All other models of Mercury meters are not much different in this regard. Even their buttons look the same and are located in the same place.

Energy meters

Taking readings from the energy meter of the Energomer day-night (two-tariff or multi-tariff) occurs in the same way. The difference is that the button on these electricity meters is called "PRSM" (view). There can be two or three buttons - depending on the modification.

Energy meter Energomera CE301

When you click on this button, numbers appear showing how many kilowatts have been “winded up” for each tariff zone. There are no more differences.

Take readings from the Micron electricity meter

In multi-tariff electronic electricity meters Mikron, there is only one button on the case, and you must press it to display the required readings on the screen. Only in this case, you need to wait until the display shows “checkmarks” above the letters “T1” and “R +” (see photo). This will be the first rate.

How to take readings from the electric meter Micron model SEB-1TM.02M

Then we press the same button until the checkmarks appear above T2 and R +, if there are more zones, we press further. This is how the readings are taken from this counter day / night.

Saiman counters

Now in many regions old induction meters are replaced with electronic ones for free and most often they install Saivan devices. This is very simple devices, they do not have buttons with which you can forcefully “flip through” the readings. You just have to wait until the required value is displayed. That is, in this case, take the readings of the electricity meter - just wait until the required value (TOTAL) is displayed and write it down on the receipt (or transfer it to the appropriate service).

To make it easier to navigate, here is the order in which the data is displayed in this electric meter:

  • date of;
  • time;
  • counter number;
  • gear ratio (1600);
  • TOTAL - readings of a single-tariff meter or are displayed sequentially T1, T2, TOTAL for counters of the day / night type (two-tariff).

It is necessary to write down the readings of TOTAL or T1 and T2 in the receipt, as well as the total TOTAL. Let us remind you once again that you need to write down only the whole part, without taking into account the numbers after the decimal point. You can watch the same information in video format.

Meters with automatic data transfer

Many instrument manufacturers electrical energy produce models that transmit readings via a specially organized channel in automatic mode. Installing and configuring this equipment is more than difficult process, but you will not have to worry about how to transfer the readings of the electricity meter. They "leave" themselves.

How to take readings from three-phase meters

There are two types of three-phase electricity meters - the old type, requiring transformers and electronic direct connection (without transformers). If an electronic one is installed, it is necessary to take the readings of the electricity meter in the same way as described above. Simply write down the values, wait until the desired information is displayed on the screen or “flip through” the data to the required page.

Connecting an electric meter in a three-phase network through current transformers

If a large power is allocated or there is an old-style meter, a transformer is installed on each of the phases. To take readings in this case, you need to know the transformation ratio. The readings taken must be multiplied by this factor. The resulting figure will be the actual expense.

But in general, you need to read the contract. The calculation procedure should be prescribed there - in some organizations they write out readings, put down the transformer data or the transformation ratio below, and the operator himself makes the actual calculations. So if you have a 3-phase meter, specify the form and procedure for calculations when installing and sealing the metering device and putting it into operation.

We will send the material to you by e-mail

For two centuries, people have been using electricity and paying money for it. Energy supply organizations have always used different ways consumption accounting electric current, but the automatic variant with the use of meters with subsequent payment for the actually used kilowatts turned out to be optimal. In today's review, we will try to figure out how to take readings without violating the procedure, what is the difference between taking readings from single and multi-tariff meters, what forms of payment can be used today.

A huge variety of models of electricity control meters

Today, manufacturers of electrical equipment produce two varieties:

  • induction- these are devices of outdated models, which are based on the principle of operation based on electromechanical induction;
  • electronic or static which are based on microprocessor elements and electronic components.

And although the filling of the devices varies greatly, they perform the same function - they take into account the current passing through them and display its amount. At the same time, the readings change over time, or rather increase. This allows more accurate recording of data for a certain period of time, which is the basis of electricity metering.

Where is the electricity meter

There is one very strict rule that determines the availability of a meter for taking electricity readings. That is, the controller from the power supply organization at any time must freely approach the meter and take data from it on the consumption of electric current. Therefore, in apartment buildings devices are installed in distribution electrical panels located in the stairwells.

In some houses old building such switchboard not included in the entryway. Therefore, electricity meters were installed in apartments. It is today a big problem, because not all owners of such apartments open their doors to controllers.

As for private houses, there are two places that can be used to install a meter: it is on the facade of the house or on a pole, wires are stretched from the latter to the house. Other installation options are prohibited.

How to take readings from the device

Since two types of electricity meters are still used today, it is necessary to figure out how to correctly take the readings of the electricity meter of both types.

How to read an induction type meter

So, an induction type counter, or rather, its display, is a spinning wheel under the dial. The number of digits in different models can vary from 5 to 7 characters. In this case, the last digit differs from the rest either in color, or in the size of the window, or is highlighted with a comma. These are tenths of kilowatts, which are not taken into account when calculating the readings.

Attention! Some induction counters do not have a highlight of the last digit, so the entire number series is taken into account.

The withdrawal procedure itself is simple. Usually it is conducted on a monthly basis, therefore it is very important to keep records correctly for months either in a journal, or in a special book issued by the energy supply organization, or using payment receipts, where it is necessary to indicate the data taken.

If the owner of a house or apartment changes the meter, then the City Light draws up an act that shows from which indication the consumed kilowatts should be calculated. It is they who will be included in the report as the beginning of the counter. For example, if at the beginning of the month it is 750, and at the end of 900, then the difference between them, and this is 150, is the consumed kilowatts. Multiplying them by the current tariff, we get the monetary equivalent, which must be paid.

It is clear that the dial has its own final limit, and this is usually 9999.9, after which the counter does not stop, but continues to rotate, moving to 0000.0. And if at the end of the month, when taking data, you have meter readings of steel, for example, 0025.0, then for the calculation you will have to given value add one not as a numerical equivalent, but as a sign. That is, when calculating the final result will be 10025.0. And from it it will be necessary to subtract the last testimony.

How to take readings in a short period of time

Before you take readings from the electricity meter, for example, for a minute, you need to find an inscription on the device that determines how many revolutions the meter must make in order to wind up one kilowatt. Usually for induction models it is 600 or 1200 revolutions.

There is a red mark on the wheel, by which you can determine the rotation of one revolution. You visually count the number of revolutions per minute or for another period of time, thereby determining the power consumption. For example, if in one minute the wheel scrolled 300 times, then 300 / 600 = 0.5 kW.

How to take readings from an electronic electricity meter

In principle, taking readings of consumed electricity from electronic meters is exactly the same as for induction meters. The scoreboard displays numerical values that are updated at regular intervals. The calculation is carried out in exactly the same way. This process is carried out if a single tariff system for the use of electricity is used.

Multi-tariff electric current consumption is two tariffs that have a significant difference in relation to the time of day. During the day it is more, at night it is less. We will not figure out why this is being done, and whether it is beneficial to the state, but it must be noted that there are difficulties with taking testimony, although there is nothing complicated in this. You just need to figure out what to do and how to do it.

Let's look at how to correctly take readings of electricity meters for different models. To do this, we will deal with the brand "Mercury".

Mercury-200 - we take data

Let's make a reservation right away that the Mercury-200 brand is both single-tariff models and multi-tariff ones. The latter have modifications in the marking, namely 200.01, 200.02 or 200.03. But regardless of the type, readings are taken by pressing the "Enter" button, which is located on the instrument panel. Everything will just depend on the number of button presses.

If the meter is used to account for one tariff, then the readings are taken in the normal mode by pressing "Enter" once. The panel should show T1. If accounting is carried out at two tariffs, then “Enter” is pressed twice, where the amount of energy consumed at the second tariff is also shown.

How to take readings from an electricity meter Mercury-230

This is a multi-tariff device, which means that you will have to take data strictly according to the instructions. So, in order to take meter readings for light at the maximum rate, you must press the "Enter" button once. A control mark and the inscription T1 will appear on the display. In this case, the screen will show the data of the consumed electricity in kilowatt-hours. They need to be fixed.

Now, by pressing the button, we bring it to the T2 mark, where completely different indicators will be displayed on the scoreboard. And they also need to be fixed. T1 is the day rate from 7.00 to 23.00, T2 is the night rate from 23.00 to 7.00. That is, when the question is raised, how to take the readings of the day-night electricity meter, you must do exactly as described above.

How to calculate electricity using a multi-tariff meter

Now we need to calculate the payment. For example, T1 showed 1800 kW, T2 - 200 kW. In general, it turns out 2000 kW. Next, you need to take the old testimony of last month. Let them be 1600 at T1 and 150 at T2. General value 1750 kW.

We need to check if everything is correct:

  • 1800-1600=200;
  • 200-150=50;
  • 200+50=250;
  • We check: 2000-1750=250.

Now, regarding payment. The obtained values of the difference in readings of each tariff are multiplied by its value. Here we mean according to our example, this is 200 multiplied by the daily rate, and 50 by the night rate. Then their total amount is taken for payment.

It is very convenient for yourself to keep such a record in the journal.

From this table, when calculating the amount, only two indicators are used in the "Difference" section - T1 and T2.

How to take data from the energy meter Energomer

In principle, all actions are exactly the same as with Mercury-230 devices. The only difference is the billing button. It is called "PRSM" on this counter. It should be noted that multi-tariff appliances of this type belong to the category of new modern energy meters, so many brands are very similar in design, appearance and taking evidence. Their only drawback is high price products.

How to take readings from a Micron counter

A distinctive feature of taking readings from the Micron counter is that for this you need to press one button. It, in principle, is present on the scoreboard in a single form, there are no others. At the same time, two checkmarks will appear on the screen, which will move along the panel. The last one shows the tariff zones. As soon as the tick goes to the required zone, the numbers will be displayed on the screen. This is the electricity that is needed to calculate the payment.

The alignment of the ticks must be exact. For example, T1 and R+, T2 and R+. The photo below shows combinations for the first tariff zone.

How to read a Saiman meter

These electricity meters began to be installed in all regions when obsolete induction models were replaced with new electronic ones for free. Therefore, the majority of the population uses them.

The device is simple. It does not have buttons with which you can scroll through the necessary data. They themselves show on the screen with a certain frequency, so you have to wait until the number showing the consumed kilowatts appears. The frequency of numerical values is as follows: first the date is displayed, then the time, then the device number, then the gear ratio and at the very end “TOTAL”. In single-tariff meters, the necessary data is immediately displayed, in multi-tariff meters there is a sequence by zones: T1, T2, T3, and so on. The video below shows how to calculate electricity using the Saiman meter.

Three-phase meters - how to take readings

Firstly, three-phase meters electricity metering differ from single-phase only in the number of terminals (incoming and outgoing). Such devices are not installed in apartments. They are usually used either in private homes, or in production, or in large buildings. for various purposes that have one owner.

Readings are taken in the same way as in single-phase devices. Accounting and calculation are also carried out in the same way with multiplication by the tariff. There are in this group and induction models, and electronic, single and multi-tariff.

Electricity meter with remote reading

Not all owners of apartments and houses can take readings, pay and transfer data. Therefore, energy supply organizations propose to install special meters that themselves transmit data. The main task of the owner is to make payment.

Purely constructively, these devices differ from the usual ones in that the display shows in a certain sequence the daily indicator, nighttime and general. The difference between readings is 15 seconds.

In addition to the fact that all indicators are sent to the energy supply company via the Internet, and this is general data, as well as their analysis, there are additional options:

  • accounting in the mode of different tariff zones;
  • connection and disconnection of the consumer remotely;
  • forwarding notifications.

Advantages of counters of this type:

  • Electricity consumption readings are recorded every day. They are always in memory, which is very important when resolving conflict situations.
  • It is possible to collect data remotely via the Internet. This applies primarily to consumers. For example, while on vacation or a business trip.
  • Indication accuracy.
  • Accuracy of calculation when changing the tariff.
  • Security in the sense that the meter can be completely turned off remotely. This is very convenient if you forgot to turn off some electrical device in the house or apartment.
Attention! If payment for consumed electricity has not been made for a long time, then the supplier company can independently de-energize the building, house or apartment unilaterally.

It should be added that today some manufacturers of meters of this type provide them with special readers. They are used to withdraw money and replenish the balance from a plastic card.

How to submit testimony

Previously, this was done by inspectors who went around houses and apartments, taking readings. Since 2012, a new decree has been issued, where the owners of real estate were obliged to take data from electricity meters themselves and transfer them to energy sales organizations. But this does not mean that there will be no control on the part of the supplier. Its representatives can take data once a quarter, but at least once every six months. So control from the outside is still being done.

Many are interested in the question of what readings of the electricity meter should be transmitted. There is only one indicator - the consumption of electric current, plus the period for which this consumption was made.

Data transfer times

There are no specific rules in the new rules. That is, a person can give testimony at any time. Although in the old rules it was established precisely. The only point that you need to know for sure is that if no indicators were transmitted within 6 months, then the energy supply organization will conduct its own calculation, taking into account the average electricity consumption for previous periods.

Therefore, electricity providers have developed a network of possibilities to make it convenient for consumers to transfer data no matter where they are.

Where to send data

There are three options:

  • Bring the readings taken from the meter to any of the energy sales centers.
  • Call the call center, where you leave the data for the operator. By the way, they are open from 8.00 to 20.00.
  • With the help of the Internet. To do this, you will have to register on the company's website, open your account, where you will enter the readings of the electricity meter.

To account for the electricity consumed by residents. In accordance with current rules and norms, each owner is obliged to regularly pay bills for consumed electricity. This is done once a month. It is advisable to take your meter readings on the same day every month.

If the electricity meter is not on landing, and in an apartment or in a private house, then you are obliged to provide unhindered access to it to representatives of the power supply organization once every six months. If the employee has a suspicion of stealing electricity, then access must be opened immediately so that he can take the readings of the electricity meter.

To pay for services, you should write off the numbers from the meter yourself and calculate the number of kilowatts / hours spent.

How to read electricity meter readings

For old-style induction-type devices, you need to write out all five digits from the scoreboard (sometimes there are counters with six digits) up to a decimal point. The symbols after the comma indicate fractions of a kilowatt, usually tenths. Often these numbers are highlighted in red. You shouldn't pay attention to them.

The resulting number will show the total consumption for the control period of the electricity you have consumed.

To determine how many kilowatts you spent in the last month that you need to pay for, you need to subtract from just taken testimony previous, paid meter reading. The result obtained will correspond to the kilowatt / hours used in the current month.

How much to pay

In addition, in order to know how to take readings from an electricity meter, it’s also not bad to be able to calculate the amount that needs to be paid. This requires the received number of kilowatts to be multiplied by its cost at the current tariff.

And you should be aware that rates vary depending on the area in which you live. For the village they are one, for the city - others. In addition, if an apartment or a private house has electric stove, then the tariffs are lower than those of those who use gas.

Other parameters can be determined from the disk counter, since usually a full disk revolution corresponds to 600 or 1200 - that is, one kilowatt.

Energy consumption rate

If you look at the disk of the electric meter, then by the speed of its rotation you can understand how actively in this moment electricity is used. If a lot of electrical appliances are turned on in the house, then the counter rotates quickly. If everything is off, then the disk should be stationary. If it still rotates, then the meter is definitely defective, and it must be urgently repaired or replaced. Otherwise, you will pay for electricity that you did not consume, and then it will be impossible to prove your case, and the fault will be that you simply did not know how to read the electricity meter and used a non-working device.

We take readings from multi-tariff meters

These are new types of devices that show the current picture of electricity consumption on digital displays. Moreover, such meters show not only the time and the current load, but also keep separate records of the electricity spent at intervals of the day. If you use such meters wisely, you can save a lot and not waste extra electricity.

To do this, you need to write off a few numbers from the electronic scoreboard. On the different models counters, they may look a little different, but the principle is the same.

How to view electricity meter readings? Go to the device, armed with a pen and paper, if necessary, take a flashlight. The display usually shows the letter "T" with numbers from one to three. To switch between tariffs, you should use the "enter" button and write off the following:

  • On single-tariff meters - the figure corresponding to T1.
  • On the two-tariff meters- numbers T1 and T2.
  • On three-tariff - the numbers T1, T2 and T3.

To determine the exact number of kilowatt / hours spent over a period of time, the previous meter reading should be subtracted from the current meter reading, as described above. Then multiply the result obtained for each tariff by the cost of one kilowatt / hour established in your area. Adding them together, you get the total amount due for the last period. Now you know how to read the electricity meter.

It does not hurt to remember that for a two-tariff device, the period T1 is 07:00/23:00. T2 - other time periods.

For a three-tariff meter - T2 (preferential) - 23:00/07:00. T3 (semi-easy - 10:00/17:00 and 21:00/23:00. T1 is the rush hour when the most expensive electricity bill is charged.

How to save

With the help of a modern two-tariff or multi-tariff meter, it is quite possible to significantly reduce the cost of paying bills for the kilowatt hours spent. The best option- use both tariffs: "night" - 23:00/07:00, and "day" - 07:00/23:00. At night, electricity is one and a half times cheaper than during the day. Refrigerator and some other electrical appliances work around the clock. They cover almost a quarter of your electricity costs. There are significant savings to be made here.

Washing can be transferred to night hours, especially if used washing machine, charging laptops and mobile phones. Moreover, in Lately many are forced to work according to such schedules that a person gets to the TV mostly after 23:00.

Properly using the device and knowing how to take readings of the electricity meter, you can spend less on bills and more rationally manage the savings.
