  • it is best to handle the inside of the oven in a respirator, since ammonia has a sharp, pungent odor.

After application ammonia on the walls of the oven, wait thirty minutes until ammonia interacts with contaminated areas.

Then you can remove the remaining grease and deposits with a damp sponge for washing dishes or a soft cloth. Wipe the oven until the smell of ammonia completely disappears. Otherwise, food cooked after cleaning the oven will smell like ammonia.

Vinegar and soda for especially difficult pollution

This method is effective in case heavy pollution inner surface of the oven. To wash off the stubborn fat and the resulting soot, it is necessary to dilute the vinegar with water in a one-to-one ratio and treat the heavily soiled areas with the resulting solution, and then wait five minutes. Then, without washing off the composition, sprinkle soda on top.

These two components, having started interacting, will call chemical reaction, thanks to which you can easily get rid of fat and soot. After the soda begins to crumble, gathering in lumps, the oven must be properly cleaned with a warm soapy solution.

Another way to clean the oven with baking soda and vinegar is the following recipe:

  • laundry soap is ground on a grater;
  • a solution obtained by mixing soda and vinegar is poured into it;
  • this solution carefully treats the dirty surface and leaves for two hours;
  • then it is removed with a metal brush or sponge, and the oven is further cleaned using a soapy composition.

Washing the oven with soapy steam

The oven can be cleaned of grease in another safe way. Add laundry soap or dishwashing liquid to hot water. This solution should be poured onto a baking sheet and placed in the oven. In addition, they also need to process the walls. Then, tightly closing the door, you need to set the temperature to 100-120 degrees. After half an hour, the oven should be turned off, opened and allowed to cool slightly. After that, with a damp sponge or rag, wipe the inner surface.

Door glass cleaner

Steaming with steam

One of the most safe ways to clean the oven from fat is to treat it with soapy steam:

  • take a wide heat-resistant container and pour water into it;
  • add a silent liquid dish detergent or crushed soap;
  • put the container in the oven and close it tightly;
  • heat to 100-150 degrees and boil soapy water inside for about an hour;
  • turn off the stove and let it cool down;
  • now open the door and begin to thoroughly clean all internal surfaces with a soapy sponge;
  • wipe dry.

Important: do not open the oven until the end of the procedure, otherwise you can get serious burns to your face and hands.

We apply soda

If the previous method did not help, try the following:

  • take any spray bottle and pour 2 glasses into it hot water;
  • add half a teaspoon of soda and the same liquid soap;
  • shake the solution and apply it to all internal parts of the oven;
  • wait half an hour and wash the oven with water.

Baking soda can also be used at home for another method: moisten it slightly with water to make a thick paste, and apply to contaminated areas. Wait a few hours (or better until the morning) and wash the inside with a soft sponge. For greater efficiency, you can add table salt to soda at the rate of 4 to 1, then you will quickly get rid of any soot.

Using baking powder for dough

Rub it on everything you can reach and leave for 3 hours. Then just get rid of the soaked soot with a damp sponge.

In addition, effective cleaning of the oven is possible with vinegar alone. Apply it on the burnt fat and leave for 25-30 minutes. Rinse off all dirt with a wet sponge.

We take ammonia from the first-aid kit

The oven is perfectly cleaned with ammonia. To do this, generously moisten a clean rag with ammonia and go through all of it. internal parts. Close the door and leave overnight. Early in the morning, start cleaning the walls with a soapy sponge to get rid of grease and soot. Then rinse with a damp cloth and wipe dry.

Household chemicals for cleaning ovens

The Israeli Shumanit foam, its Russian twin brother Shumovit, as well as the serious German Frosch and the product from the Amvay line are especially popular with housewives. According to reviews, they all do their job perfectly, getting rid of even that fat that previous methods could not overcome.

Just before buying and using any oven cleaner from the store, remember that manufacturers use strong chemicals. Therefore, cleaning should be carried out only in seals. Also, keep windows open and keep children and pets out of the kitchen during this time. Rinse the oven itself thoroughly with water, leaving no trace of chemicals on it. Otherwise, it will end up in your dishes later.

Some useful tips how best to clean, wash the oven

Oven - indispensable assistant for most housewives. It serves lunch and dinner several times a week. But unfortunately, housewives do not always try to clean it with the same frequency. Although it is recommended to wipe (wash) the cabinet after each use, many do not have enough energy or time for this.

And after several preparations, the fat accumulated on the inner walls begins to smoke when heated. Each hostess in the arsenal has her own ways of how to wash off soot. But today we will reveal to you a few secrets on how to clean the oven inside and not spend the whole day doing it.

Now more and more consumers are offered ovens with a catalytic or pyrolytic cleaning function. It uses a special coating on the inner walls of the oven, which accelerates the decomposition of fat. To clean the oven with a pyrolytic cleaning system, it is enough to heat it up to a temperature of 500 degrees, and then wipe the ashes from the walls with a damp cloth. Catalytic cleaning is carried out during normal heating to temperatures of 200–250 degrees automatically.

But still, most ovens in Russian kitchens are ordinary. The walls inside them are covered with lightweight enamel, which is able to repel fats, but not burn them. An oven with such a coating must be cleaned regularly by hand. The methods may vary.

If you are a supporter of cleaning using factory-made products, then you should pay attention to cleaning solutions such as the Russian Shumanit, the German Frosch, or the American Amway oven cleaner. According to the hostesses, these solutions cope equally well even with old dirt.

But do not forget that any industrial oven cleaner is a potent chemical compound that requires precautions to be taken.

It is necessary to avoid contact with the skin and be sure to work with gloves. When using it, open windows as wide as possible and keep pets and children out of the kitchen.

Simple ways to traditionally clean the oven without household chemicals

Easiest but enough effective method clean the oven - steam out the mud deposits on the inner walls. To do this, take a heat-resistant container of large diameter, pour water into it, add a little soap or dishwashing liquid and place in the oven.

Turn on the thermal mode - 120-150 degrees is enough. Wait for the water to boil, and boil it inside for at least half an hour. If the pollution is strong and old, then it takes about an hour to boil water in the oven.

After the oven, turn off and wait for it to cool completely. Then wash the surface to be cleaned with a soapy sponge. And wipe dry. In order not to get burns on your hands and face, do not open the oven during boiling water and immediately after turning it off.

Soda in the kitchen is an indispensable assistant. It is used both as an ingredient in cooking and as a cleaning agent for various surfaces, including the inside of the oven. There are several ways to wash it using soda:

  1. Pour a couple of glasses of hot water into a spray bottle, add half a teaspoon of liquid soap and the same amount of soda. Shake the composition well. Spray the mixture on the contaminated surface and leave for half an hour. Then wash the oven with warm water.
  2. Another effective method wash off carbon deposits, but longer. We take soda, moisten it with a small amount of water and mix into a thick mass. This solution is applied to a dirty surface and left for several hours. Then you need to clean the oven with a sponge dipped in warm water. The best effect can be achieved if the solution is applied in the evening and washed off in the morning. Also, the cleaning effect will be enhanced if ordinary salt is added to the soda in a ratio of 4: 1.
  3. Baking powder (baking powder) is the same soda, but citric acid is added to it in a ratio of 1: 1. And if this mixture is poured onto a damp surface of the oven, then in less than an hour the fat will roll up on its own in lumps. They are easy to remove with a cloth dampened with soapy water.

Cleaning the oven from soot with vinegar is quite simple. It is enough to wet the contaminated walls with water. Then apply table vinegar on them, evenly distributing it over the entire surface. Leave in this state for about half an hour, then wash with water and a soft sponge. If the contamination is old, additionally use a stiff brush.

Vinegar can be used to make a homemade cleanser. We take a piece of laundry soap and rub it on a grater. Separately, mix soda with vinegar and pour grated soap with this solution. Mix until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add some water. The consistency of the composition should be like a cleaning paste. With this mixture we rub the dirty walls of the oven and leave for three hours. Then, with a damp sponge, we wash the composition along with soot.

Cleaning the oven with ammonia is also an easy and economical way. In terms of efficiency, it is not inferior to expensive means. It is worth taking ammonia and wiping it with the entire inner surface of the oven. Soak for at least half an hour and wash with a sponge dipped in water.

But this method has significant shortcomings. Ammonia solution should be applied only with thick gloves, it should not get on the skin. And because of the pungent smell, you will have to use a respirator. Not every hostess will find this item. Even after using ammonia, the oven must be rinsed well with water several times (until the smell disappears), otherwise the cooked food will smell like ammonia.

All manufacturers recommend cleaning the inside and outside of the oven immediately after each cooking. The goal is to prevent the resulting contaminants from burning. For this, liquid cleaners and a soft sponge are used. Abrasive powders, hard sponges and metal brushes do not need to be used, as they can damage the enamel coating. How to properly clean the oven and what products are the most effective?

Cleaning with chemicals

In retail outlets there is a rich selection of various gels for cleaning electric ovens, ovens and other heating appliances used in home and professional kitchens. In built-in ovens, skillful housewives bake great dishes with hot air. There are a lot of advantages to an electric oven, but there are also significant disadvantages. First of all, this is the release of fat vapors, the own juice of products and other formations that lead to the appearance of pollution. Commercials relentlessly talk about the virtues of Frosch, Mister Muscle, Shumanita, Silit Benga, Sanitara Antigrease and other liquid cleaners.

The variety of cleaning products is impressive

But chemistry is chemistry. Its harmful traces can get into food. Some chemicals have a strong odor that spreads throughout the kitchen. Others are not as effective at fighting pollution. Most gels require the use protective equipment- gloves, respirators, masks - and good ventilation of the premises. Gels with the addition of a small amount of water form a rich foam that easily copes with greasy spots and ingrained soot. Therefore, it is enough to spray household chemical gel on contaminated areas and wait for a certain period (the method of application is written on the package). All dirt spots will be gone. Then they are washed off with warm water.

Important: do not use chemical washing gels that contain acids. These strong substances can damage the enamel coatings of the oven: on the walls, ceiling and bottom.

Folk methods

Steam (hydrolysis cleaning)

Using steam is a budget and safe option

It is an affordable, effective, proven way to clean internal enamel coatings ovens from old deposits of dirt. Water is poured into a baking sheet, a little liquid soap or dishwashing detergent is added. The container is placed in the oven and the thermal mode is turned on (about 120 degrees Celsius). As soon as the water boils, reduce the temperature to 110 degrees and boil for at least 30 minutes. If this time is not enough to steam the contaminants, increase the steam generation time to one hour. Then turn off the oven and let it cool down room temperature. Wash off dirt deposits with a sponge dipped in warm soapy water. Be sure to wipe all surfaces with a dry cloth.

Important: in order to avoid burns to the face and hands, do not open the oven door at the time of intense steam generation.

Baking soda is a versatile tool that should be in every kitchen.

Many housewives use ordinary baking soda not only as an additive to food, but also as a universal cleaning agent for kitchen utensils. It will perfectly cope with the dirt inside the oven's thermal chamber, including the door glass. Dilute a third of a glass of soda with a small amount of water - until a thick mass is formed. In the evening, apply this paste on dirty places and leave until morning. Then wipe the mixture of soda and dirt with a damp sponge and rinse with warm clean water. The effectiveness of the cleaning properties of soda can be enhanced by adding ordinary table salt in proportion: to four parts of soda, mix one part of salt.

Good results are obtained by using a baking powder (a mixture of baking soda and citric acid in a ratio of 1:1). If the baking powder is applied to the wetted surfaces of the oven, then after some time the fat will lag behind the enameled surface. A sponge dampened with soapy water will easily wash away the dirty solution from the inside of the oven.

Vinegar contains acids, so for some surfaces it is better to choose a different cleaning option.

Weak dirt is washed off with a mixture of water and vinegar in a 1: 1 ratio. To do this, a mixture of vinegar and water is applied to the inner walls of the oven with a spray gun, the oven is turned on for temperature regime+50 degrees. After holding for a quarter of an hour, dirt is easily removed with a sponge and warm clean water. Vinegar perfectly removes soot with impurities of fat, so the heat chamber at the oven will look like new.

Baking soda + vinegar

Acetic essence and sodium bicarbonate ( baking soda) enter into a chemical reaction with each other and release carbon dioxide. He can easily cope even with chronic fat deposits. To start cleaning the oven heat chamber and door with a mixture of acid and alkali, proceed as follows:

  • Spray all surfaces inside the heat chamber with vinegar.
  • Sprinkle baking soda on a wet sponge and scrub the stains with it. Open the door completely and also sprinkle with soda.
  • To withstand the treated surfaces for several hours, so that the vinegar and soda destroy the old fat as efficiently as possible.
  • Apply a little soda to a semi-rigid sponge and wipe the walls, baking sheets, bottom and door without pressure.
  • Wash all cleaned surfaces with warm water.

Traditional method - laundry soap

The higher the content percentage fatty acids(in the picture 72%), the more effective the soap will cope with pollution

Laundry soap does not contain chemical impurities, so it is safe for health and does not harm environment. Efficient removal pollution occurs due to the alkaline environment, which is formed when soap is diluted with water. The cleanup order is as follows:

  1. Grate 50 grams of laundry soap on a fine grater.
  2. Dissolve the resulting chips in a container with boiling water.
  3. Put the container in the oven and turn on the temperature at 150 degrees.
  4. Let the "soapy water" boil for about one hour.
  5. Grease stains, burns, sticky dirt are carefully removed with a semi-rigid sponge.
  6. All surfaces are washed with clean water.
  7. The oven door remains open during the day so that the specific smell of laundry soap disappears.

Due to the presence of sodium and chlorine in its composition common salt helps to get rid of soot and dirt

This is one of the most affordable, effective and fast-acting home cleaning products. Sodium and chlorine, when heated, destroy old body fat make them fluffy and soft. The algorithm of actions is the simplest:

  • Sprinkle salt over horizontal surfaces: trays, trays, shelves and the bottom of the oven heating chamber.
  • Turn on the heat and bring the temperature to the values at which the salt will take on a golden hue.
  • Turn off the oven and let it cool down.
  • Rinse the door, walls, trays, trays and bottom with warm water and a small amount of liquid dish detergent.
  • Rinse all surfaces with clean water and dry with a paper towel.

Ammonia can be bought at any pharmacy

In this way, you can deal with the most persistent pollution. Ammonium chloride will be able to return the original purity even to the most old oven. Cleaning can be done in two ways - cold and hot. In the first case, ammonia is applied with a richly moistened sponge to all internal surfaces in the oven and aged for 8–12 hours. Then all impurities are removed with warm water with the addition of a small amount of detergent. In the second case, two small containers are placed in the oven: with ammonia - on the top shelf, with water - on the bottom. The oven heats up to 100 degrees (the water must boil). Then it is disconnected from the mains, the door closes and it cools down during the night. In the morning, the liquids from both containers are mixed with a small amount of dishwashing detergent. This solution is applied to the inner surfaces of the oven, and then washed off with warm, clean water. The effect will be excellent.

Lemon juice

Lemon will not only wash the oven, but also remove unpleasant odors.

Citric acid easily copes with fatty contaminants. There are also two options here. In the first case, juice is squeezed out of a lemon, which is mixed with an equal amount of water. This liquid is used to treat internal surfaces. In the second case, lemon slices are placed in a container of water and a small amount of dish detergent is added. Put the container in an oven preheated to 100 degrees and stand for 30-40 minutes. Allow to cool, then use a sponge and this mixture to remove all grease from the walls, baking sheets, bottom and door of the oven.

Self-cleaning systems for electric ovens

The self-cleaning function was invented for professional kitchen equipment. But technologies are improving, becoming cheaper and more accessible for a conventional electric built-in oven. Many housewives are happy to save themselves from the tedious and dirty work of cleaning the oven from accumulated fat deposits.

EasyClean self-cleaning system

The most common self-cleaning technology (used on models of all manufacturers) is lining the inner walls of the oven with special coatings of easy-to-clean smooth enamels. Such coatings do not absorb dirt at all. This cleaning system is called EasyClean. Using it is simple:

  • Pour a little water into a special recess in the bottom of the oven (a little less than half a glass).
  • Add a few drops of a special detergent composition.
  • Turn on the heat mode of the oven 100 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
  • With a sponge, remove all dirt from the bottom of the oven, which will settle there along with the hot condensate of the steam cleaner.
  • Wipe all surfaces with a paper towel.

catalytic cleaning

Catalytic cleaning of the built-in oven is chemical decomposition fats into simple components: water, soot (carbon) and organic matter without the formation of soot. At the same time, these constituent substances are absorbed by the sorbent formed from nanoparticles. These actions are caused by oxidizing agents, which are part of a special coating. This porous enamel can only be veneered side walls or all interior surfaces of the built-in oven. The catalytic cleaning system starts automatically when the oven temperature reaches 140 degrees. It is most effective at a temperature of 200 degrees.

Some manufacturers enhance the cleaning effect of the coating with a special built-in catalyst. In models of the Miele concern, this device is called AirClean, in Siemens ovens - AktiKat. Catalytic purification is used by all manufacturers. This cleaning method is recommended for those housewives who often use an electric oven for cooking, but at the same time want to save on the cost of the oven and energy consumption. The disadvantages of this method include:

  • manual washing of baking sheets, grates, grill;
  • periodic manual washing of surfaces to remove not completely absorbed soot;
  • the efficiency of decomposition of fats sharply decreases when dairy and sweet products get on the catalytic surface;
  • frequent use of the oven is required to cope with large fatty contaminants;
  • limited service life of the coating in 4-5 years.

EcoClean cleaning system

This system is still a world novelty. It is widely used mainly by two manufacturers: Bosch and Siemens, but other companies are also interested in it.

EcoClean self-cleaning kit from Bosch

The innovation lies in the use of a new high-quality EcoClean ceramic coating for self-cleaning of the oven. This type of cleaning starts automatically when the oven is turned on and heated to 270 degrees. At the same time, all emerging pollution turns into an easily removable plaque. At the same time, up to 80% of all odors are absorbed. The know-how of the invention lies in the use of tiny ceramic balls that destroy carbon deposits when heated strongly. They have an amazing ability to self-repair when high temperature their unique properties which makes this coating durable. This coating is applied only to back wall. Other interior surfaces with EcoClean ceramics are sold separately.

Pyrolytic cleaning

Pyrolysis is an effective technological technique in which all contaminants inside the oven are burned. The hard pyrolysis mode is activated using a special button. The thermal regime reaches a temperature of 500 degrees. The door is automatically blocked from accidental opening. Pyrolysis requires additional electricity costs, so models of such ovens are equipped with powerful heating elements. When turned on, all fat deposits turn into ash, which is easily removed with a damp sponge or napkin. All control over the pyrolysis process is entrusted to electronics. Several glasses are installed in the door (if this function is available) to prevent strong heating of the outer glass.

Results of pyrolytic cleaning

This cleaning method is not without its drawbacks. When burning fatty contaminants, it forms persistent odor. Strong ventilation is required to remove it. The main thing weakness ovens with this self-cleaning method is high price. Pyrolysis cleaning is widely used in their models by manufacturers such as Bosch, Ariston, Siemens, Miele. Moreover, Siemens uses special glass for the oven door, which is also cleaned of fat when the pyrolysis mode is turned on.

Video: electric ovens - self-cleaning methods

Summing up

  • If a electric oven used on a case by case basis best recommendation- steam clean.
  • If meals are cooked in the built-in oven at least once a week, cleaning with a catalyst or ecoClean coating.
  • If the oven is used much more often - powerful cleaning by pyrolysis.

When choosing an oven, many practical housewives pay attention not only to the access and convenience of manual cleaning to internal surfaces (the absence of seams, protrusions, recesses, a folding grill, etc.), the presence of a self-cleaning system, but also to the possibility of cleaning the space between the door glass. From different manufacturers different ways door disassembly. You need to carefully study the instruction manual: someone needs to remove the door first, and then disassemble it with a Phillips screwdriver; for others, the glass can be removed without removing the door, without using a tool.

How to rid the oven of odors?

lemon peels

  1. Pour water into a small metal bowl.
  2. Add lemon or orange peels.
  3. Put in the oven.
  4. Set the temperature to 100 degrees.
  5. Boil water in it for 10-15 minutes.

Apple vinegar

Quickly eliminates unpleasant odor Apple vinegar. Moisten a cloth with it and wipe the inner surfaces of the oven's heat chamber.

Salt

Table salt is an effective absorbent and easily absorbs all odors. Sprinkle half a glass of salt on a baking sheet and heat the built-in household oven to 150 degrees. Hold at this temperature for about a quarter of an hour.

Cleanliness is the key to health. This axiom must be fulfilled even in small things. In the oven, when baking food, fat is released, which will accumulate on internal surfaces with every new dish. Then it starts to smoke, filling the kitchen bad smell. Contaminants worsen the taste of the finished dish, negatively affect its appearance. Therefore, it is not necessary to accumulate fat deposits in the oven, which prematurely make it old, unattractive, untidy. There are many ways to clean the oven from any contaminants. The main thing is not to be lazy to regularly take care of your kitchen equipment.

If you are wondering how to wash the oven, it means that it is quite dirty with you. Perhaps food has burned in the oven, a thick coating of grease has formed, or you just haven’t washed it for a long time. One way or another, this issue needs to be resolved, and we will now describe ways of how to qualitatively wash it inside and out.

Some cleaners can hardly clean even fresh dirt, let alone burnt fat. Another disadvantage of many chemical substances- their scent. Even after thorough rinsing cold water, it continues to spread throughout the house, and to some extent affects the smell of food. How to be, and what method to use in order to quickly cope with a thick, unaesthetic, bad-smelling film of dirt?

The reaction of vinegar and soda

This is perhaps the easiest way to wash off a layer of burnt fat and soot. Must be diluted in warm water table vinegar and wipe all internal and external walls with this solution. The surface must be well moistened so that the vinegar water slightly soaks the dirt.

Take the amount of vinegar at your discretion. Usually table 9% vinegar is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2.

Then you need to take a damp sponge and pour soda on it. This soda wipe the surface after vinegar. There are two cleaning methods:

  1. vinegar eats away fat;
  2. soda mechanically cleans dirt and softens water and makes cleaning more effective.

At the end, everything is washed off with warm water and in this way they get rid of the soot that remained after previous cooking.

Absolutely safe from the point of view of ecology, the method can quickly cope with fresh pollution. And in order to wash the stubborn oxidized film of fat with its help, you will have to rub it properly with a brush.

Homemade detergent

You can make your own here detergent which helps to get rid of soot.

  • Rub 20-30 g of laundry soap on a grater and transfer it to a small bowl.
  • Add 1 large teaspoon of salt to the soap.
  • Pour a little vinegar into the mixture so that a thick substance is obtained with stirring. You can add a spoonful of water.

With this mixture, we need to wash our oven. It cleans dirt as well as store-bought powders and pastes. You can apply the foam and leave it for a while for a more effective effect, and then wipe the oven with a brush, cloth or sponge.

Acid

A good helper in resolving the issue of how to wash the oven inside is citric or acetic acid. Everything happens very simply.

In a baking sheet that you usually put in the oven, you need to pour water and add vinegar to the water. Instead of vinegar, you can squeeze two lemons or cut the lemons into wedges and leave them in the water.

The baking sheet is placed in the oven and turned on at 100 ° or more. When the water boils, the acid evaporates with it and is especially effective on grease, burnt food, and cured resin which is very difficult to clean.

In this method, the main thing is to prevent the water from boiling away. Top up if necessary.

It is necessary that the water boil for several minutes, then turn off the oven and wait until it cools down. At the last stage, they simply wipe the inner walls and pour the water out of the pan. He, by the way, will also be cleaned in this way.

A few more resources

If you have ever seen the effect of soda ash, you know how well it cleans almost any surface. In this regard, we recommend trying it as a remedy for soot in the oven. With the help of soda ash, you can perfectly clean the handle, door, glass of the oven and its insides.

Mustard and ammonia work well with fat. Dry mustard is diluted in water until a thick homogeneous mass is formed and applied to all elements that need to be washed. Leave for a while and then wash off. You can pour a little dry powder on a damp sponge and rub the dirt with it.

Ammonia is diluted in water and liquid dishwashing detergent is added to the same water. This mixture dissolves fat and eliminates the old unpleasant smell of food.

The traditional question is: how much ammonia is needed? In most cases, it is poured by eye, about a large tablespoon per glass.

Or maybe chemistry?

Despite the fact that we criticized chemistry at the beginning of the article, there are some tools that work very effectively.
