Watch Jetta 6 after five years of operation. Volkswagen Jetta V: no childhood illnesses, like the rest of the "state employees"

Volkswagen Jetta 6 entered the Russian market in 2011. The sedan is technically very close to the sixth Golf. Both are built on the upgraded PQ35 platform, which formed the basis of the fifth Golf.

Compared to the Golf VI, the sedan is 90 mm longer, the wheelbase is 70 mm longer, and the A-pillars have been moved back. Therefore, they do not have common body parts. Thanks to the successful layout, the back is quite spacious. The trunk absorbs up to 510 liters of luggage. If this is not enough, then you can fold the rear seat.

At first, the Jetta was assembled in Mexico, and since April 2013 in Russia - at the facilities of the GAZ Group in Nizhny Novgorod.

The restyled version of the sedan went on sale in January 2015. In addition to cosmetic changes, the model received a package for bad roads, ESP, a blind spot monitoring system, a driver fatigue recognition system and bi-xenon headlights.

The updated version of the 2015 VW Jetta has successfully passed the tests of the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Jetta has earned the honorary title of "The safest car." The previous test was not so impressive. It was possible to improve the result after strengthening the front struts and thresholds. In EuroNCAP European testing, the Jetta earned 5 stars.

Engines

Abroad, petrol turbo engines 1.2 TSI, 1.4 TSI, 2.0 TSI, gasoline aspirated engines with a capacity of 2.0 and 2.5 liters, as well as turbodiesels with a volume of 1.6 and 2.0 liters, got under the hood of the sedan.

In Russia, the Jetta VI was offered only with gasoline engines. The base was a 4-cylinder aspirated 1.6-liter with a return of 85 and 105 hp. The turbo engine is also the same in two boost options - 1.4 TSI / 122 and 150 hp.

Since the end of 2015, EA111 family engines have given way to EA211 series engines with a timing belt instead of a chain. The output of the 1.6-liter aspirated increased to 90 and 110 hp, and the supercharged 1.4 - from 122 to 125 hp. The top modification retained its power at the level of 150 hp.

The 1.6-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine is generally reliable. However, more and more often there are complaints about the knock of pistons. The problem is well known to owners of the Volkswagen Polo sedan with the same engine. In fairness, it should be noted that a frightening knock is not a symptom of the imminent death of the motor. Many "long-distance" (taxi, etc.) traveled over 200,000 km with this sound without major engine repairs. However, when contacting the official service, the motor was changed. Later, a technical bulletin was released, in which they explained the cause of the knock - soot, which must be removed.

The timing chain drive of 1.6-liter engines is reliable, but in 1.4 TSI “crackling in the morning” may appear after 100-120 thousand km. This is a symptom of a stretched chain. Replacement costs will amount to 20-30 thousand rubles.

At 1.4 TSI, after 60-120 thousand km, the injection pump pusher often fails - a chirp appears. For an analogue, they will ask for more than 1,000 rubles, and for the original - 2,500 rubles. Around the same time, the fuel pump in the tank may also give up (3-10 thousand rubles).

Owners of cars with 1.4 TSI had to deal with the replacement of the turbine due to the actuator jamming. The turbocharger is built into the exhaust manifold and costs almost 100,000 rubles (original). The repair kit is available for 26,000 rubles.

Perhaps the most unpleasant thing that can happen to the 1.4 TSI EA111 series is burnout or cracking of the pistons. There have been incidents. To install a new set of reinforced pistons, you will need around 80-100 thousand rubles.

After 100,000 km, sometimes it was necessary to change the cooling radiator fan due to ECU failure. The control unit is assembled with a large fan. The cost of a node is from 6,000 rubles for an analogue and 15,000 rubles for an original.

The pump is a weak point in all engines. It may leak or make noise after 60-120 thousand km. Its cost is about 3-4 thousand rubles, but for a 1.4 TSI with a capacity of 150 hp. a water pump will cost at least 8,000 rubles.

Among the common, but not frequent problems, fogging and leakage of the crankshaft oil seal can be noted. Episodes were recorded in the interval of 100-150 thousand km. The cost of the elimination work is about 7,000 rubles.

As for the oil burner, there are no massive problems. Only a few say about it.

The branded rattling of fuel pipes still haunted the owners of the sixth Jetta. Fortunately, the disease carries only acoustic discomfort and is easily eliminated.

Transmission

1.6 was combined with a 5-speed manual transmission, and 1.6 / 110 hp. also with a 6-speed automatic. 1.4 TSI was paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-band DSG. Later, the 150-horsepower 1.4 TSI was aggregated exclusively with DSG 7.

The seven-speed DQ200 robot with a dry clutch is designed for torque up to 250 Nm. The box was constantly modernized and after 2014 the problems with it decreased - the clutch and the mechatronics unit were redesigned. The warranty for the DSG is 5 years or 150,000 km. When replacing the clutch at your own expense, you will need 60-80 thousand rubles.

There were troubles with a manual gearbox - bearings wore out. Most often, the attack happened after 200-250 thousand km. For a bulkhead in the service they asked for about 50,000 rubles.

Perhaps the most trouble-free was the Aisin 09G automatic transmission. Only sometimes there are complaints about delays when switching from 1st to 2nd gear or a somewhat hard transition from 2nd to 3rd.

Chassis

Initially, in Jetts with atmospheric 1.6, a twisting beam was installed at the rear, and in cars with a turbo engine, a multi-link. Since 2013, regardless of the engine, a multi-link scheme began to be used.

Suspension Volkswagen Jetta 6 is quite hardy. However, much depends on the operating conditions. For some, it lasted more than 150,000 km until the first major repair. And others, without having traveled 100,000 km, changed shock absorbers, thrust bearings and silent blocks of the front levers. Springs sometimes burst in Mexican-assembled cars.

But the steering rack can knock after 40-60 thousand km. Even after replacing the rack under warranty (120 thousand rubles), after a while the knock may reappear. Services specializing in the repair of rails offer to change the "crackers" or stuff grease inside.

Other problems and malfunctions

There are no problems with the paintwork of the Jetta's body so far. Disappointing, perhaps, is the chrome coating of outdoor decor elements. From time to time, owners note fogging of the front optics, or the appearance of small cracks on the glazing.

Some car owners complain about the howling of the air conditioning compressor (from 16,000 rubles for an analogue). When contacting an official service, the compressor, as a rule, is changed under warranty. But soon the howl returns again. Others do not pay any attention to extraneous noise, and the compressor continues to work properly.

Often, the wiring of the electrical harness, laid along the left hinge of the trunk lid, breaks. As a result, there are malfunctions in the operation of the rear lights and the lid lock.

There are problems with the trunk lock itself, then, for example, the lid opens spontaneously. The disease is more often found in winter. It's all about the button, under the elastic band of which moisture gets. After the button has dried, the lock will work again.

It happens that the heating of the driver's seat fails. You have to change the mat or control unit.

Sometimes there are "glitches" in the operation of the RCD-330G head unit - the camera stops working, or there are problems with the bluetooth connection. Dealers, if problems are found, update the software or change the head unit.

After 4-5 years (usually in winter), the windshield wiper sometimes stops working. The reason is the ingress of moisture and its freezing. At the same time, the lubricant loses its plasticity. A new motor can be purchased for 2,500 rubles.

Conclusion

What conclusions can be drawn? The pre-styling Volkswagen Jetta with 1.4 TSI is not the best purchase. It is better to look for cars with engines of the new EA211 series, which appeared at the end of 2015. In any case, systematic problems with these engines have not yet been identified. At the same time, the number of calls to the service with questions about the DSG also decreased. A universal option will be a sedan equipped with a 1.6-liter gasoline aspirated. True, for "reliability" you will have to pay with dynamics.

After the successful debut of the Golf, Volkswagen decided to build on its success. It was decided to put on the market a classic sedan built on its basis. Presented to the public in 1979, the model received the sonorous name Jetta.

During its existence, it has gained wide popularity. Today, its numerous modifications of various generations are found in various parts of the world.

I generation (1979-1984)

For its time, the first generation Volkswagen Jetta had a fairly wide range of engines, including both gasoline and diesel modifications.

Carburetor engines could be from 1.1 to 1.6 liters. Their power ranged from 50 to 110 hp. There were also injection versions, which were equipped with 1.6 and 1.8 liter power units. (85 and 112 hp respectively).

Heavy fuel was consumed by a 1.6-liter unit. It was produced in two variations:

  • atmospheric (54 hp);
  • turbocharged (70 hp).

Thanks to the simple, but at the same time carefully thought-out design of the power plants, they had a very decent resource and were famous for their great reliability. Today, due to the age of the model, finding a copy in an acceptable condition is a great success. When deciding to operate a car of such a venerable age, you should be prepared for all the associated problems.

II generation (1984-1992)

The second generation Volkswagen Jetta was one of the first foreign cars to become truly popular. In the 1990s, they simply flooded into the newly opened markets of newly formed countries. Jetta occupied this niche due to its unpretentiousness and phenomenal reliability. About the survivability of the car is legendary. Compared to its predecessor, the range of engines has expanded significantly. In total, there were more than ten petrol and diesel modifications.

Gasoline engines with a volume of 1.3 to 2.0 liters. had powers from 54 to 136 hp. The power system could be either carburetor or injection type. On injection modifications, one of the problems is the failure of various sensors. The KE-Jetronic mono-injection system can also be a hassle.

A 1.6-liter diesel engine, depending on the modification, develops power from 54 to 80 hp. With proper maintenance and repairs, it is able to withstand very significant runs.

Second generation engines potentially have a very significant resource. Their main problem today is their age. However, if you find a well-groomed specimen that has been carefully maintained, such a unit will be able to serve for quite a long time.

III generation (1992-1998)

In North American markets, the car continued to be sold under the old Jetta name. For the rest, a new name was chosen - Vento. The third generation cemented the tradition of providing a wide choice of powertrain. The potential owner is given a choice of both gasoline and diesel engines.

The gasoline range includes engines with volumes from 1.6 to 2.8 liters, with powers from 75 to 174 hp. Those who prefer heavy fuel have a choice of 5 modifications of the 1.9-liter engine with power from 64 to 110 hp.

In general, in terms of engines, the third generation is considered quite successful and reliable. Most of the problems are, of course, related to the age of the model, and depend on how many, and most importantly, in which hands a particular instance has been. The resource of the units is very decent, but it may already be completely used up or coming to an end.

IV generation (1998-2005)

The fourth generation continued experiments with the name. Now the model has been named Bora, retaining the traditional Jetta name for North American markets. There were also design changes. The car has become visually closer to the flagship Passat than the single-platform brother Golf.

The most widespread are 1.6-liter gasoline modifications with distributed fuel injection:

  • 8-valve 100 hp;
  • 16-valve 105 hp

Considered the most successful, these motors often run up to 300 thousand km without serious intervention.

Basic version with a volume of 1.4 liters. also not bad in terms of reliability and unpretentiousness. But a smaller volume and the need to "twist" it to maintain acceptable dynamics, does not affect its resource in the best way.

The engine with direct fuel injection of the FSI series, with a volume of 1.6 liters. 110 hp proved to be not the best. In addition to being sensitive to fuel quality, it also had problems with valve deposits, electronics failure, and short-lived timing components.

For more active drivers, there were versions with a 1.8 liter engine, which were divided into two modifications:

  • Atmospheric (125 hp)
  • Supercharged (150 hp / 180 hp)

Even the naturally aspirated variant has very decent dynamics, especially with a manual transmission. And in terms of reliability and resource, it surpasses its counterparts with a turbine, which traditionally requires more thorough maintenance.

A two-liter 8-valve with a capacity of 115 hp, with timely maintenance, also does not present unexpected surprises and reliability problems.

Closes the petrol line V-shaped flagships:

  • 2.3 V5 (150 HP / 170 HP);
  • 2.8 V6 (204 hp).

They endow Bora with excellent dynamics, have an acceptable level of reliability and a decent resource. This comes at the cost of higher maintenance costs.

Diesel options are represented by a 1.9-liter unit of various modifications. From the point of view of the resource, the younger, the only atmospheric modification with a capacity of 68 hp is preferable. The reverse side of the coin is the mediocre dynamics of this version. In general, a significant resource is structurally incorporated into the motor, which, however, is very critically affected by operating conditions, as well as the quality and frequency of maintenance.

V generation (2005-2010)

With the introduction of the new fifth generation, Volkswagen supported the trend in the automotive industry of the 2000s to expand the use of turbocharged engines. The already extensive selection of powertrains has become such that even long-term fans of the brand were confused at the time. It was also decided to return the model to the former name Jetta.

The new low-volume turbo engines of the TSI series impressed with their characteristics. They made a splash at exhibitions, and also received prizes in the nomination of the best engine of various competitions. The combination of small volume and significant power was very encouraging for potential buyers. But miracles don't happen. All this had to be paid for with a significantly reduced resource. There were also a large number of "childhood sores", some solutions were quite "raw" and the manufacturer had to make changes right in the production process.

Among atmospheric modifications, the 1.6-liter eight-valve MPI has traditionally become the least problematic. The 1.4-liter versions of this series had problems with cold start on copies of the first years of production.

In units of the FSI series with volumes of 1.4 and 1.6 liters, there were problems with the durability of the timing chain. Already after 100 thousand km, it could stretch and required replacement along with the tensioner. Failures of ignition coils are noted.

Among the problems of the 2.0-liter FSI, a broken timing belt is noted. It can occur with a mileage two times less than the replacement according to the regulations suggests. At specialized services, it is not recommended to exceed the mileage of 90 thousand km without replacing the belt.

The line of diesels lost archaic atmospheric modifications. Only the TDI series motors remained:

  • 1.6 l. (105 hp);
  • 1.9 l. (105 hp);
  • 2.0 l. (140 hp / 170 hp).

The 1.9-liter engine is recognized as the most reliable. Among the problems of the version with a 2.0 liter diesel. they note failures of fuel injectors, but the manufacturer conscientiously fulfilled warranty obligations by replacing low-quality parts free of charge. However, in general, diesels do a good job even with fuel of not the best quality. The turbines also proved to be quite durable. With proper and timely maintenance, the resource of these motors is quite large.

VI generation (2010-2017)

In terms of design, the sixth generation returned to the concept tested on the generation called Bora. She again became very similar to her older brother Passat. However, the acquisition of power units, as usual, was carried out by borrowing from the Golf donor model.

There are more turbocharged units in the line of engines. The exceptions were engines of 1.6 liters, 2.0 liters. and 2.5 l. MPI series. Traditionally, aspirated engines have earned a reputation for being more reliable and resourceful.

The turbo line was replenished with a modification of the TSI with a volume of 1.2 liters, but outside of Europe it was not widely used. There were concerns about the resource, as well as problems with the maintenance of such a high-tech engine.

Although the TSI series was actively modernized, the designers failed to overcome many characteristic problems. Problems with the chain continued to manifest themselves, although now it began to reach up to 200 thousand km. Among the modifications of 1.4 TSI, the youngest, with a power of 122 hp, turned out to be the most reliable.

Diesels in the sixth generation are represented by engines of 1.6 and 2.0 liters. TDI series. The legendary 1.9-liter long-liver, which has been repeatedly upgraded, has disappeared from the line. Among the problem areas of diesel engines is contamination of exhaust gas recirculation valves. Replacement is quite expensive, and cleaning helps only briefly.

31.08.2016

A large number of car enthusiasts choose the Volkswagen Jetta 5 because for an affordable price you get a reliable car with good build quality and good equipment. But how reliable the golf-class sedan turned out to be, and whether it is worth considering this option for purchase, now let's try to figure it out.

Advantages and disadvantages of Volkswagen Jetta with mileage

The fifth generation Jetta was produced from 2005 to 2010 in two versions in the sedan and station wagon body, in the CIS only cars in the sedan body were officially sold. As the operating experience has shown, in general, the paintwork does not cause any special complaints, and the metal has good corrosion resistance, but despite the fact that the body is completely galvanized, weaknesses were still identified. When inspecting the car, carefully inspect the thresholds, the lower part of the front fender near the door and the lower part of the door, due to the fact that excess moisture accumulates under the mudguard, these parts begin to bloom, even small bugs will soon lead to big problems. Also, the junction between the rear wheel arch and the bumper is considered the weak point of the body; chips often appear at this junction, and then corrosion.

Engines

During the life of the fifth generation Volkswagen Jetta, there were three gasoline engines and two turbodiesel engines:

  • Aspirated MPI 1.6 (102 and 115 hp)
  • Turbo engine TSI 1.4 (122 and 140 hp)
  • Two-liter engine FSI (150 hp) and TFSI (200 hp)
  • TDI 1.9 (105 hp) and 2 liters (140 hp)

Motorists are often confused in the multiple letter designations of power units; in fact, they differ from each other in the presence or absence of a turbine, as well as an injection system. At the weakest engine in terms of power of 102 horsepower, on a run of 70 - 80 thousand km, the timing belt roller often starts to howl. If the previous owner refueled the car with low-quality fuel closer to 100,000, fuel injectors will need to be replaced, it is worth noting that such repairs are not cheap. TSI and TFSI engines are high-tech and provide excellent dynamics and low fuel consumption, with intensive use, they nurse 250-300 thousand km without problems. But if you plan to use the car infrequently or for short trips, then you should not consider a car with such an engine if you don’t want to know what an open timing chain, burnt pistons, stuck rings and a running engine are.

Diesel engines have proven to be reliable and unpretentious in maintenance units, and if they are filled with good diesel fuel, they will serve you faithfully for 300 - 350 thousand km. If you want to buy a car with a two-liter diesel engine, then consider a car after 2008, since before that time nozzles with a pump were installed, which often fail, and their replacement and repair are not cheap, after 2008 the manufacturer eliminated this problem.

Transmission

There are three types of gearboxes available on the Volkswagen Jetta, five and six-speed manual, six-speed automatic and DSG robotic gearbox. DSG robotic boxes are often called a sore spot for Volkswagen and Skoda cars; indeed, the robot may not start working correctly after a run of 50,000 km. When driving in traffic jams, the life of the DSG transmission is significantly reduced, so if you plan to buy a car with a robotic transmission, avoid cars that were used in the metropolis (repair of a robotic box will cost approximately $ 1000).

A six-speed automatic with a run of 150,000 km may experience jerks when reverse gear is engaged (replacement of the valve block is required, repairs will cost about 500 USD). In a mechanical transmission, with a run of 100,000 km, the clutch and release bearing will need to be replaced, and the input shaft bearing often fails at this run.

Suspension Volkswagen Jetta

Volkswagen Jetta, although built on the same platform with, has different chassis settings. The suspension of the car is quite soft, but at the same time, the car confidently keeps the set trajectory, and if you don’t get carried away driving on a bad road at high speed, the first repair will be needed after 50,000 km of run. The suspension can be safely called quite reliable, and if instead of a multi-link a beam was installed at the rear, then the suspension could be safely called very reliable, but the ride and handling would be completely different. The levers in front and behind are not flimsy, and if you carefully operate the car, they will last more than 150,000 km, silent blocks, stabilizer struts, shock absorbers nurse up to 100,000 km, brake pads last 70 - 80 thousand km, discs almost twice as long. The steering rack does not have a long resource and can start knocking at a run of 100,000 km, this problem is often eliminated by tightening.

Salon

Due to the good quality of finishing materials, even after many years of operation, the Volkswagen Jetta interior does not irritate drivers and passengers with extraneous knocking and creaking. Occasionally there are instances in which crickets appear in the dashboard in the cold season, but as soon as the cabin warms up a little, they disappear. The accelerator pedal here has a floor structure, so you should not save on branded floor mats, otherwise water will seep under the pedal.

Outcome:

The Volkswagen Jetta is a quiet family car; cars were also often purchased in corporate parking lots. If we consider the purchase of such a car in the secondary market, then the best option would be a car with a 1.6 atmospheric engine paired with an automatic transmission or mechanics.

Advantages:

  • Galvanized body.
  • Convenient and comfortable fit.
  • Moderately stiff suspension.
  • The quality of interior finishing materials.
  • Affordable price.

Disadvantages:

  • Robotic transmission.
  • Thresholds rot.
  • Chassis problems after 80-90 thousand km.

If you are or have been the owner of this brand of car, please share your experience, indicating the strengths and weaknesses of the car. Perhaps it is your review that will help others choose the right used car.

The German car industry was once famous for its quality, but, unfortunately, this quality every year becomes not quality, but the appearance of many problems for owners of German cars. And such a car as the Volkswagen Jetta was no exception. It is important to remember that the elimination of breakdowns and failures of individual elements is not a small cost of money.

Weaknesses of the Volkswagen Jetta since 2011

  • Timing belt roller;
  • fuel injectors;
  • Turbine diesel engines;
  • "Robot";
  • Steering rack and steering tips;
  • Engine temperature sensor.

Now more…

fuel injectors.

Depending on the mileage, fuel injectors may fail. As a rule, this happens about 100 thousand km. run. When buying, you need to ask if these elements have been replaced and at what mileage. Otherwise, you will need to be prepared for this in the future, and replacing nozzles is not cheap. Also, before buying, you can indirectly draw on the operation and start of the engine. If the fuel injectors fail, the engine idle speed will be " walk", and there will also be problems when starting a cold engine.

Timing belt pulley.

This is not to say that the timing belt pulley fails quickly enough. Approximately in the area of \u200b\u200bthe car's mileage of 70 thousand km. the video will most likely begin to “howl”. Why is this element classified as a weak point, because the average resource of the video, as a rule, should be 90 thousand km. It is worth noting that when buying, you need to pay attention to the timing belt itself.

Turbine for diesel engines.

In general, the turbine on many cars with diesel engines causes a lot of problems. Usually the turbine coking and there is a loss of traction. Therefore, when buying, you must definitely drive and pay attention to the behavior of the car during sharp accelerations.

Robotic box DSG and DSG7

It is worth immediately paying attention that this box is the most problematic place of this model. Troubles can appear already with a car run of 50 thousand km. It is important to know where the car was used, since when the Jetta is operated in urban conditions, the "robot" has problems in the area of the above mileage. If the car was used for intercity trips, then there will be problems, but not much later. Basically, the problem lies in the “kicking” of the box, and even if you reflash the “robot” control unit, this will help, but not for long. Therefore, before buying, you need to analyze everything and, at best, refuse a car with such a box. Boxes "automatic" (the problem may be with the valve block) and "mechanics" are more reliable and the main problems may appear, but after 150 thousand km.

Steering rack and steering tips.

Replacing the steering rack, as you know, is a costly business, especially on Volkswagens, so you must definitely pay attention to it before buying and, during a test run, feel if there are knocks on the steering wheel when cornering.

Engine temperature sensor.

DTD is a sore Jetta. A sign of failure of this sensor will cause the engine to overheat and its operation will not be stable.

The main disadvantages of the 6th generation Volkswagen Jetta

  1. The high cost of maintenance (the most serious drawback);
  2. Squeaky salon;
  3. Hard and brand plastic;
  4. Weak stove;
  5. Rigid suspension;
  6. Ergonomic miscalculations

Conclusion.
In conclusion, we can say that the vulnerabilities of this car, when they manifest themselves, will require significant financial costs. Therefore, before buying, you need to analyze the feasibility of buying a Volkswagen Jetta. If the decision to purchase is made, then before buying, the best option would be to diagnose all the systems of the car in a reputable car service in order to avoid serious problems with the car at first.

P.S: write about the frequent breakdowns and shortcomings of your car identified during operation!

Weaknesses and frequent problems of the Volkswagen Jetta was last modified: October 18th, 2018 by Administrator

Buying a fifth Jetta was spontaneous. On hand was the amount after the sale of Chevrolet Cruze 2011. I was looking for a car for about a month, I couldn't get a 2011 Skoda Superb, a 2010 Volvo S80, a 2009 Opel Insignia, I also thought about returning to a Saab or Mercedes in the 221 body. It was impossible to drive up to some options, others, as it turned out after the inspection, were “on their knees”. Once in the market, while I was buying provisions with my wife, I went to a flea market and saw a 2010 Jetta, 1.6 BSE, with a 7-speed automatic transmission, in a good configuration and immediately called the owner. A couple of hours later we were driving the car onto the lift. A couple of days later I became the owner of Volkswagen. The car turned out to be exactly the golden mean, which was required in order not to particularly pervert with the costs, including the service station.

Of the costs after the purchase was: replacing the rear pads, rear hubs with bearings, refueling the air conditioner, MOT, rear caliper repair kit. At the moment, I changed the windshield (a stone flew on the highway), ordered a Polish-made version for light and rain sensors.

As for the sensations and driving qualities, I can compare the behavior of the Jetta with such cars as the BMW e36, e39, Saab 9-5, Chevrolet Cruze, once these cars were in my garage. So, a few observations: the suspension (multi-link at the back, one lever / strut at the front, spring) is moderately soft, there are no complaints.

The steering, taking into account the year of operation, also does not make you complain. Trunk volume - significant, about 530 liters. Noise isolation is excellent (the same Cruze falls short). Music is 10 "tweeters" and an amplifier in the dashboard. I will not say that the best of what I have heard, but a four on a five-point scale can be put. The head light is quite enough for me, as a person with not the best eyesight (on the Cruze, if it weren’t for the fog lights, I would have to drive with a distant one).

Engine with a capacity of 102 liters. with. can be called a "log", but in alliance with the machine (there is also a "Sport" mode), the dynamics in the urban jungle is quite good. But on the track you should not compete with more powerful cars - it's useless, and not for these purposes, they put 1.6 BSE on the Jetta.

The box is automatic. All previous cars were mechanical, I got tired of it, I wanted to try automatic transmission, since 95% of my trips are around the city. I do not regret the choice. The Jetta has a “seven-step” installed, switching to manual mode is provided (useful in winter or if stuck in a puddle). The wrong oil was previously poured into such boxes, and then some owners complained. The official dealer on my car has already replaced it with another one.

Ground clearance, let's say, is good. Curbs overcomes (of course, not the highest), the same Cruze clung to thresholds even lowering board. The view from the driver's seat is excellent, the side pillars do not interfere, everything is normally visible in the mirrors.

A few words about the salon. The seats are ordinary, lateral support, in fact, no. But, oddly enough, the back does not get tired during long trips, that is, apparently, although it is budgetary, the structure of the seat is thought out, and it fits the human spine “correctly”. Minimum adjustments (tilt, forward / backward, up / down). I installed the fridge in the glove compartment myself. Door cards and dashboard made of oak plastic, steering wheel too. I wrapped the steering wheel in a cover - it's softer for the hands and the girth is better. In previous cars there were leather steering wheels, here, of course, a minus - with leather and fabric inserts. "Dragonfly", climate control, speedometer, tachometer, multimedia and other adjustments are accessible from the driver's seat, thereby preventing distractions on the road. There is a full electrical package.

When buying drew attention to the separate climate control. The option is cool: one is blowing, and the other, on the contrary, is hot. The package also included light and rain sensors, heated mirrors, seats, seat covers under the skin of "young leatherette" (so less dirt). I installed a multimedia system - an analogue of the WW 510 head. Basically, everything is there: Navitel, DVD, MP3, Bluetooth, telephone, all kinds of USB flash drives. The display pleases with excellent color reproduction, runs on the Android platform, the interface is similar to the original, the equalizer is multi-level. In general, a good average.

The metal of the body is distinguished by a decent thickness in comparison with the "budget". But no one is safe from chips, my car already has a couple from the area of the front pillars, the driver's door. Temporarily processed with a converter and dotted over. Trouble - iron near the ceiling lamps for lighting the number. Apparently, water is constantly collected there - swelling of the paint appears. This nuance was also found on BMW, and on Saab, and on the Chevrolet Cruze - just such a place prone to collecting moisture.

In general, the body does not bloom, and it pleases. How long it will last (now the car is 5 years old) is unknown. The bodies are all galvanized, and if you do without an accident, I think it will last a long time.

Disputes about the old metal on the old "Germans" do not count: there are only a few whole cars, the rest have already been digested so that there is nothing to talk about. In any case, a fresh machine is better. The same applies to the technical part of the car as a whole.
