Wipe the floor after painting. How to clean the wall from greasy stains: tips

Undoubtedly, nowadays it is rare to find a painted floor in the interior. But, nevertheless, it cannot be argued that it has completely lost its relevance. In fact, with proper care, the painted floor looks quite attractive and, in spite of everything, has a number of advantages.

Why should you wash it after painting so that it does not lose its luster and smoothness?

Why wash the floor after painting

Any hostess will be curious why cleaning after painting is still needed, because the surface, one might say, shines perfectly and is completely new. However, the oily layer that forms after the paint has dried should be removed immediately. The quick wash determines how your flooring will actually look in the future and how easy it will be to clean.

Instructions on how to wash the painted floor

First of all, you need to be sure that the paint is completely dry. To do this, just look at the instructions for use paintwork. Typically, paint manufacturers indicate the time period for which the paint dries. If this information you could not find, then, in any case, it is not recommended to carry out wet cleaning earlier than after 6 days.

To wash the floor, we need table vinegar.

So, let's start processing:

  1. Pour water into the bucket. This procedure requires water room temperature but quite hot.
  2. Add 20 ml of vinegar.
  3. Now, with a clean cloth (preferably microfiber) dipped in our solution, wash the painted surface.
  4. Once the work is completed, the procedure must be repeated again.
  5. In the next 5-7 days, it is necessary to carry out wet cleaning with a damp clean cloth to remove the remnants of oil stains.

It turns out that our grandmothers performed this procedure using homemade sour kvass. It turns out that this gave a great shine and even, to my great surprise, made the coating more durable.

Naturally, washing stained floors does not end with a treatment with vinegar and water. Like it or not, it periodically needs to be cleaned, washed, and sometimes even rubbed for shine. However, this is, first of all, a guarantee of your health and an indicator of comfort in your home.

What Not to Do

So, in order for your floor to please you with its brilliance and durability, you need to know what absolutely cannot be done in order to preserve its original appearance:

  1. Do not use soapy water or products containing chemical elements. This will primarily cause your coating to peel off and the paint to lose its luster and color.
  2. When vacuuming dry, use only attachments with a soft brush. Rigid will lead to mechanical damage and, as a result, a deterioration in appearance.
  3. Try to do wet cleaning regularly. Dust, sand, dirt also leads to mechanical damage to the paint.

As you can see, cleaning the floor after painting is not at all difficult. It is enough to adhere to certain rules so that your coating retains not only its impeccable appearance, but also durability as long as possible.

What do you need to polish the floors to make them shine and shine? Pure Smooth surface The floor always arouses the admiration of guests and the envy of housewives, and if the floor also sparkles with cleanliness, you will invariably be bombarded with questions about what you are doing with it. What can and should be rubbed on the floor to achieve its radiance?

Washing painted floors: gentle care of the coating

In this article, we will look at the most popular floor coverings and how to clean them and give them shine and shine.

If the floor in your house is covered with laminate, you don't have to worry about its sheen. If you believe the manufacturers, the laminate sparkles without any processing and can last at least 10 years without loss of quality. Washing such a floor is a pleasure, cleaning the laminate is not a hassle, and any cleaning products can be used as cleaning products, although there are special means for laminate floors.

Floors covered with linoleum require very careful and careful handling. Any scratch, dent or other damage to the surface becomes more noticeable over time. Linoleum floors should be washed with warm soapy water using a neutral soap solution. Once a quarter, a floor covered with linoleum can be smeared with drying oil, and then polished with a flannel cloth. After such treatment, the floor will shine and will delight you for a long time, freeing you from the need to purchase expensive funds.

The parquet floor always looks warm, cozy and rich. True, behind this beauty is the efforts of the owners to carefully care for its surface. With vermin, the parquet wood can dry out, and this threatens with the appearance of cracks, the parquet can begin to creak. In no case should you wash the parquet floor with water, the parquet becomes damp from moisture and can be deformed, which contributes to the formation of waves and cracks. The damaged area will have to be replaced with a new parquet. If the parquet was stained with something, it can be carefully cleaned, for this it is necessary to understand the cause of the contamination.

For example, to remove greasy stains from parquet from parquet, you need to prepare a mixture of washing powder and not a large number warm water. Rub the area with contamination with this mixture and leave for a while until the mixture dries, and then remove the mixture along with the contamination with a damp cloth. If the stain is old and ingrained, the procedure can be repeated.

Painted wood floors that have lost their luster over time due to exposure detergents containing substances that adversely affect the paint, it is quite possible to update. To give shine to wooden floors painted with paint, you need to wash them with acidified water. To do this, add a couple of tablespoons of vinegar to one bucket of water. Vinegar can also be replaced with ammonia - the effect will be the same.

floor painting

The appearance of the flooring can be easily updated with painting. This method of finishing is very common both in apartments and in non-residential premises. The advantage of this type of finish is that the paint can be applied to almost any substrate: wood, concrete, gypsum and others. At the same time, you can paint the floor on your own without much difficulty. In this article, we will analyze the pros and cons of this surface finishing option, as well as consider all the stages and sequence of work.

Benefits of paint floors

  • Water resistance: as a rule, paint is applied to the floor that is resistant to moisture.
  • Ease of care: this coating is very easy to clean and wash, it will withstand both dry and wet cleaning.
  • Labor intensity and speed of finishing: special skills are not required for painting the surface, everything can be done by hand and in a short time.
  • The cost of materials and work: this finishing option is the most economical and affordable.

Disadvantages of paint floors

  • Thermal insulation: walking on a painted floor without rugs or other coverings laid on top of it is not very pleasant, especially in winter, as such a floor will be cold.
  • Wear resistance: the painted coating is not durable compared to other surface finishes (although, of course, it all depends on the quality of the applied paint and on the intensity of the load).
  • Drying speed: to continue finishing works in the room it is necessary to wait for the complete drying of the surface. The term can be from 3 to 7 days.
  • Design: if one-color painting is carried out, then this coating will not differ in special design characteristics. In non-residential premises, garages, storage rooms, possibly appearance the floor does not really matter, but for rooms such as the living room, nursery or bedroom, it is better to use more expensive, but also more interesting materials, for example, to install parquet board, cork, laminate or lay carpeting. And in rooms with high humidity(bath, toilet) it is more expedient to stick tiles on the floor.

Floor painting technology

1. Preparatory work

1.1. Surface cleaning

First you need to remove the old floor covering (linoleum, tiles, etc.). Decoration Materials). Peeled paint can be removed with a spatula and/or special paint remover. If greasy spots are observed on the surface of the base, they also need to be eliminated. This can be done with white spirit.

The old layer of wax that was used to rub the floor should be removed, as it will prevent the paint from drying. For these purposes, you can prepare a solution of soda: dilute a glass of linen (soda ash) with 7-8 liters of water. Next, the liquid is applied to the surface, and the wax layer is brushed off. At the end, thoroughly rinse the floor clean water and let it dry completely.

If on wooden floor there are protruding knots, then they should be removed with a chisel, and if there are protruding heads of nails or self-tapping screws, drown them inward to a depth of 3-4 mm.

1.2. Preparatory layers

To begin with, it is recommended to apply a layer of primer or drying oil to the surface to be trimmed (if the floor is wooden). After that, you need to wait 2-3 days. During this time, the floor will dry out, and the primer will be well absorbed into the base of the coating.

Further, if it is required to provide a very even and smooth surface, then floor putty is necessary (link). For these works, a special oil-based putty is well suited. At the same time, it should be of the same tone with the floor. The material is evenly applied over the entire surface, filling all small cracks and eliminating irregularities. Further, all puttied places are carefully polished with sandpaper. If necessary, the operation can be repeated to make the surface even smoother, after which you can proceed to painting the floor.

2. Floor painting

In order for the flooring to have not only an attractive appearance, but also to last long enough, you need to carefully approach the issue of choosing suitable materials. You can find a complete and detailed answer to this question in our note "Choice of floor paint (link)".

Before starting work, the paint must be poured out of the can, and then mixed until a homogeneous and uniform mixture is obtained. At the same time, it should turn out without any clots and lumps.

Masking tape should be used to protect areas that are in contact with the floor and should not be touched by paint from accidental painting. It is glued to the relevant areas, and protects them from material ingress during finishing work.

The floor should be painted in two stages: first, the first coat of paint is applied. And then, when the surface dries (3-4 days), it is recommended to apply a second layer to create a high-quality painted surface. Complete drying of the second coat can take 4 to 7 days.

Important: if the surface has already been painted, then one coat of paint may be sufficient. But if the subfloor was laid "from scratch" or the old coating was cleaned to the ground, then 2 or even 3 layers will definitely be required. But in any case, the paint should be applied in thin layers, since a thick layer will begin to "swell" after a while.

Wood flooring should be painted in the direction in which the wood fibers run. It is recommended to start work with skirting boards. To do this, use a narrow brush. After collecting a small amount of paint, and getting rid of its excess by squeezing the brush against the edge of the can or tray, it is necessary to apply the material to the surface. To do this, hold the tool at a slight angle relative to the surface to be painted and make smooth strokes with it. The pressure density of the brush must be selected based on the required layer thickness and its color saturation.

Next, the entire surface of the floor is painted. For these purposes, it is recommended to use a roller. It is best to start from the corner of the room. The tool is immersed in the paint tray, completely saturated with paint and squeezed out relief surface tray to remove excess. Then the roller is applied to the floor and rolled out with smooth movements, forming colored stripes. In this case, the roller should not be torn off the surface while there is still paint on it.

After applying the first layer, you need to wait for it to dry completely, and if necessary, apply the next layer, repeating all previous operations.

3. Final work

Upon completion of the work, it is necessary to check the quality of the floor painting. There should be no stains, streaks or tool marks on the surface. If several layers were applied or staining was carried out over the old layer, then the lower layers should not be translucent. All of the above defects must be eliminated - carefully tint such places. And if this fails, then another layer will have to be applied.

How to wash a wooden floor after painting with enamel?

This requires mopping the floor. warm water somewhere within 5-7 days after the layers have dried. Moreover, it must be remembered that adding soap, powder or soda to the water is prohibited, as they can damage the paint. It is allowed to add only a solution of vinegar.

Having eliminated all the imperfections on the surface, and waiting for the layers to dry completely, we will end up with a qualitatively painted floor surface.

If you decide to paint the floor yourself at home, we recommend that you watch these videos. They very well tell how to do all the above work with your own hands and in what sequence.

Caring for painted floors

Modern construction market more and more offers customers various facing floor coverings, which initially have beautiful surface: laminate, parquet, self-leveling floors, etc. The article will focus on such a phenomenon as painting a wooden floor, which fades into the background in comparison with the above coatings.

Painting wooden floors

The wooden painted floor does not lose its popularity because it has a number of advantages:

All this will not be possible if the wood is not covered with special paints and varnishes.

The painting of the wooden floor is carried out in the following sequence:

  1. The wooden base is being prepared.
  2. Sanding and sanding is done.
  3. Wood flooring is treated with special tools.
  4. The surface is covered with drying oil.
  5. Then several layers of the selected paint and varnish material are applied.

Varieties of materials for wood processing

When processing wood, you can use not only primers and drying oils, but also various mixtures to increase the fire resistance of the material and protect against various biological organisms that feed on boards.

In view of the foregoing, it can be concluded that there are two main types of impregnations:

  • biocides– protect wood from the most different types biological impact. Painted wood is protected not only from insects, but also from the formation of mold, fungi, etc.;
  • flame retardants- make the tree protected from accidental burning. The advantage of these mixtures is that they have no color, therefore, the appearance of the coating does not deteriorate during application, the protective layers are not visible in the photo and when visual inspection.

Coloring technology

Now consider the sequence of how to beautifully paint the floor in order to prevent various mistakes in the course of work. It all starts with the preparation of the foundation. It is enough to sand and putty new floors if there are defects that require it. If the coating is outdated, then before the floor is painted in wooden house, it will be necessary to repair defective parts or completely replace the flooring (read also: "How to paint a hardboard floor with your own hands - a step-by-step guide").

To begin with, a layer of paint is removed, if any, with a spatula. Taking into account the fact that various impregnating mixtures were not used in the construction of old houses in the 20th century, it is necessary to carry out a complete cleaning wood flooring. Then any gaps and cracks in the boards are sealed with putty, and unusable boards (rotten, broken, bent) are replaced.

Puttying materials

To paint the floorboard without difficulty, you should use a high-quality putty to seal up defective areas.

Various self-prepared mixtures can be used as an alternative floor putty for painting:

  • large cavities can be filled with tow soaked in an adhesive aqueous solution (15% adhesive content);
  • sawdust putty is known, where, as the name implies, small sawdust mixed with ordinary PVA glue or oily floor putty.

There are also two main types of purchased putties: adhesive and semi-oily (read: "What floor putty is needed and how to make it").

Adhesive composition:

  • 100 grams of turpentine are added to 4 liters of oxol;
  • 1 liter is added aqueous solution with soap;
  • about 2 liters of a 20% adhesive solution are poured.

Semi-oil composition:

  • 0.5 kilograms of wood glue are mixed with 5 liters of water;
  • add 1.5 kilograms of drying oil or oxol;
  • add water (by eye) to thin the solution;
  • based on the added volume of water (no more than 1 liter), 100-150 grams of soap are added to it.

Next steps

Now, before painting wooden floors, if they are puttied, it is necessary to sand them. It is not difficult to understand that any unevenness of the coating will look ugly in the photo and during visual inspection. Do not think that paint will help hide defects, because. its disadvantage is precisely the opposite. It is safest to sand over the entire area of the floor and then check it again for defects.

Further, the instruction on how to properly paint the floor says that after completing the steps described above, it is necessary to process wooden flooring impregnations. First, a layer of antibacterial composition is applied and only after it dries, a fire-fighting agent can be used. Such two layers will not interfere with each other, but the application of the top layer is possible only after the bottom has dried.

Then follows the drying oil treatment procedure. The substance is necessary to increase the adhesion of paints and varnishes to the floor surface. You can replace drying oil with a cheaper primer without losing the degree of adhesion. It is only important that the applied layer is dry, and this can happen for a whole day. After that, if the color of the floor in the wooden house has already been chosen and the paint has been purchased, you can start painting (more: "How and with what to paint the wooden floor in the house - an overview of suitable paints and varnishes").

Types of paintwork materials

There are many varieties, so choosing the best one is much more difficult than which roller to paint a wooden floor with.

There are the following types:

  • alkyd;
  • oil based;
  • perchlorovinyl;
  • polymeric, etc.

Each paint is produced on the basis of a solvent created from organic substances. In residential areas, it is best to use water-dispersion paints, which do not have any smell, and they do not emit volatile substances harmful to the human body.

The application is carried out with a roller or brush and not in one layer. It is important that each applied layer dries before the next one is applied. Typically, the interval between applying layers reaches from a day to three or more. It all depends on the characteristics of the room, the paint used and a number of other factors. Upon the drying of the top layer, you can put the room into operation: bring in furniture, household appliances etc.

Caring for painted floors

Owners of their own homes should know not only how to properly paint the floors with paint, but also the rules for caring for the created coating. In fact, everything is very simple: cleaning can be dry with a broom or a vacuum cleaner, or it can be wet with a rag or brush.

Restoring the cover is also very easy.

What is the best way to clean a painted floor?

As needed, you can work with grinder. But, in practice, repairing floors is not profitable, since the paint layer is applied easier and faster.

Outcome

From the foregoing, we can conclude that a painted floor is created much easier and faster than more modern flooring, and its care does not know how to exquisite conditions which makes life easier for the owners. Any lack of wood coating can be eliminated with the help of special substances and we are not talking about simple mechanical defects, but about increasing fire resistance and daring various organisms that love to feast on natural wood.

Painting a wooden floor with your own hands

Painted floors in your apartment - expediency and care

Painted floors are certainly not in trend, but this does not mean a complete rejection of this method of ennobling coatings. With due ingenuity and imagination of the owners, a painted floor can look fresh and original.

And why, in fact, to paint

The opinions of designers on this issue are divided: some believe that unpainted floors, covered with special wax or colorless varnish, are able to fully convey the structure of wood. This approach is justified for housing designed in rustic style or for individual wooden houses.

Proponents of the second approach rightly believe that such surfaces need constant and very time-consuming personal care.

And so that the painted floor does not look rustic, they offer quite modern solutions(By the way, supported by the appropriate range of colors).

Non-standard colors: instead of the tedious red-brown tones (someone called “floor paint” at the time), rich gray or blue-turquoise shades are offered.

The principle is simple - a painted floor should not excite and cause aggressiveness, which excludes the use of, for example, warm colors. But it should not oppress and reduce tone - for this reason, you should not paint the surface in brown tones.

White color is original, but it will resemble a hospital, and care in such cases takes a lot of time.

A floor painted with oil paint can be adequately replaced with a successful ornamentation. Having prepared a template that matches the style of the room (for example, stylized characters from favorite fairy tales or cartoons are suitable for a nursery, for a dining room - floral ornament etc.), you can relatively quickly "paint" the coating, and at the same time achieve a high degree of unusualness and originality.

It is only important to choose coloring compositions of the same type, and achieve optimal color perception. It should not be bright and sticky, two or three color shades are enough to make the painted floor look like a real work of art.

The next group can be characterized briefly - related extremes. This is suitable for owners of creative, striving for unusual interior solutions. Here you can surprise guests with stylization for worn and peeling coatings (quite suitable for apartments decorated in country or Provence styles), or furutistically made abstract spots or lines - for interiors of a minimalist style or High Tech style.

How to care for finished coatings

Such surfaces are especially sensitive to washing, and therefore not all detergents can be used for this. More good option periodic light wiping with a slightly damp cloth should be recognized: with all the strength of the paint, you can overdo it and damage the painted surface area. Therefore, the question - how to wash painted floors - can be answered with confidence: as little as possible.

Of the detergents are preferred:

  • Weak vinegar solution;
  • Self-cleaning emulsions (they, along with the removal of contaminants, will also provide shine);
  • Mixture vegetable oil and denatured alcohol.

In case of problems with the repair of a painted floor, the main thing is to choose the paint exactly to match the damaged area, and with the same consumer characteristics. It is unacceptable to use coloring compositions of other types and textures for restoration.

Maintaining the excellent condition of the painted floor is unthinkable without the use of purely organizational means. For example, it makes sense to use a vacuum cleaner with a moistened nozzle more often, which will help to collect the smallest particles of dirt and prevent them from accumulating in hard-to-reach places in the apartment.

It is important to perform right conditions operation of painted coatings that do not like frequent and intense abrasive effects. Therefore, you should not move heavy furniture in such sensitive areas, walk in street shoes with a relief pattern and hard soles, and also leave wet objects on surfaces for a long time.

In no case should you use soap or soda solutions for cleaning - this will cause the painted surfaces to quickly fade.

All about ways to tint your parquet

What is good one-component floor varnish

Varnish floor technology: tools, recommendations, types of work

1. Not all wallpapers can be washed. If you are not sure what type your wallpaper is, do a test: try washing a very small area (preferably in a secluded place - say, behind furniture), let it dry thoroughly, and then inspect for any damage - if the color changes, pattern, whether smudges remain.

2. With a lint-free cloth or soft sponge dipped in warm water with the addition of liquid detergent, wipe the walls from top to bottom with quick light movements. Avoid using colored soaps or sponges - they can accidentally stain the wallpaper. It is also important not to overdo it with detergent - the solution should not have thick foam. In general, it is precisely such a mixture of simple components - water plus detergent - that is the most versatile for washing walls with almost any coating (more on exceptions below).

3. Clean water and drying. Walk along the walls with the same rag or sponge, but already dipped in clean water. The main thing at this point is to regularly change the water so as not to carry dirt along the walls. It may be more convenient to pour two buckets at once - with soapy water and clean water. Then, to remove excess moisture, wipe the wallpaper with a cotton towel.

4. Delete different types spots with wallpaper you can different ways. For example, to combat oily stains, apply talcum powder to them, leave for a few minutes, and then clean with a brush. Fingerprints can be removed with an ordinary eraser, and traces of alcohol markers can be removed with vinegar or citric acid.

Each of us, probably faced with painting the floor, and knows that this is a rather difficult task. How do you want the surface to remain bright and shiny longer! This effect is not difficult to achieve if you follow certain requirements for washing the floor.

First of all, you need to let the surface dry well. Modern floor paints dry quickly enough - within 24 hours. But it is advisable to wait another day for greater certainty.

The first wash is carried out with a very warm vinegar solution (2 tablespoons of vinegar per 8 liters of water) and a soft cloth. The procedure is carried out twice. Further, during the week, wet cleaning is carried out daily to remove various oil traces that may come out.

Attention: in no case should you wash the floor with various soap solutions, because with such “care” the paint will quickly lose its color and shine, and may even peel off. For everyday cleaning, you can add three tablespoons of ammonia to a bucket of water in the water for washing the floor. This little trick will help restore the shine of the surface.

And last tip: before wet cleaning, vacuum up the dust. When washing the floor, small particles will not scratch the surface, leaving it smooth and shiny.

Caring for painted floors

The modern construction market is increasingly offering customers various cladding floor coverings that initially have a beautiful surface: laminate, parquet, self-leveling floors, etc.

When processing wood, you can use not only primers and drying oils, but also various mixtures to increase the fire resistance of the material and protect it from various biological organisms that feed on the boards.

In view of the foregoing, it can be concluded that there are two main types of impregnations:

  • biocides- protect wood from various types of biological effects. Painted wood is protected not only from insects, but also from the formation of mold, fungi, etc.;
  • flame retardants- make the tree protected from accidental burning. The advantage of these mixtures is that they have no color, therefore, the appearance of the coating does not deteriorate during application, the protective layers are not visible in the photo and during visual inspection.

Coloring technology

Now consider the sequence of how to beautifully paint the floor in order to prevent various mistakes in the course of work. It all starts with the preparation of the foundation. It is enough to sand and putty new floors if there are defects that require it.

If the coating is outdated, then before the floor is painted in a wooden house, it will be necessary to repair the defective parts or completely replace the flooring (read also: “How to paint a hardboard floor with your own hands - a step-by-step guide”).

To begin with, a layer of paint is removed, if any, with a spatula. Taking into account the fact that various impregnating mixtures were not used during the construction of old houses in the 20th century, it is necessary to completely clean the wooden coating.

  • large cavities can be filled with tow soaked in an adhesive aqueous solution (15% adhesive content);
  • Sawdust putty is known, where, as the name implies, small sawdust is used mixed with ordinary PVA glue or oil floor putty.

There are also two main types of purchased putties: adhesive and semi-oily (read: “What floor putty is needed and how to make it”).

Adhesive composition:

  • 100 grams of turpentine are added to 4 liters of oxol;
  • 1 liter of an aqueous solution with soap is added;
  • about 2 liters of a 20% adhesive solution are poured.

Semi-oil composition:

  • 0.5 kilograms of wood glue are mixed with 5 liters of water;
  • add 1.5 kilograms of drying oil or oxol;
  • add water (by eye) to thin the solution;

Further, the instruction on how to properly paint the floor says that after completing the steps described above, it is necessary to treat the wooden flooring with impregnations. First, a layer of antibacterial composition is applied and only after it dries, a fire-fighting agent can be used.

How to paint the floor

Such two layers will not interfere with each other, but the application of the top layer is possible only after the bottom has dried.

Then follows the drying oil treatment procedure. The substance is necessary to increase the adhesion of paints and varnishes to the floor surface. You can replace drying oil with a cheaper primer without losing the degree of adhesion. It is only important that the applied layer is dry, and this can happen for a whole day. After that, if the color of the floor in the wooden house has already been chosen and the paint has been purchased, you can start painting (for more details: “How and with what to paint the wooden floor in the house - an overview of suitable paints and varnishes”).

Types of paintwork materials

There are many varieties, so choosing the best one is much more difficult than which roller to paint a wooden floor with.

There are the following types:

  • alkyd;
  • oil based;
  • perchlorovinyl;

Upon the drying of the top layer, the premises can be put into operation: furniture, household appliances, etc. can be brought in.

As needed, you can work with a grinder. But, in practice, repairing floors is not profitable, since the paint layer is applied easier and faster.

Outcome

From the foregoing, we can conclude that a painted floor is created much easier and faster than more modern flooring, and caring for it does not know any sophisticated conditions, which makes life easier for the owners. Any lack of wood coating can be eliminated with the help of special substances and we are not talking about simple mechanical defects, but about increasing fire resistance and daring various organisms that love to feast on natural wood.

If you have to paint walls or floors, then information about correct painting and quick drying paint will come in handy. Better than oil paint, coatings have come up with nothing. Therefore, if you want it, you don’t want it, but you need to take into account how long it dries. The cost of oil paint is available to everyone, the surface after painting is smooth and shiny. In order to maximize the drying time of its drying, use the following recommendations.

You will need paint and a heater, a roller (a brush will do) and a fan, as well as desiccants - special substances that speed up the drying of oil paint.

Several ways to speed up paint drying

First of all, you need to paint for quick drying thin layer. Apply with a roller or brush, depending on what you prefer, the paint on the surface prepared in advance. The layer should not be very thick. Thus, a layer of oil film is formed on the painted surface, which dries in less than a day. Painting can be repeated if the coating is uneven. Stir the paint constantly to avoid streaks.

Another in a good way The drying of the paint is accelerated by the fan, since the paint dries due to the interaction of oil particles and oxygen. The process of oxidation, not the evaporation of water, is the key - there is no water in oil paint. In order to speed up the reaction of paint and oxygen, it is enough to turn on the fan. Direct it as far as possible at the painted surface and open the window for a few hours.

In addition to the fan, you can use a heater: place it in the room where the surface was painted. Warm air also accelerates oxidative processes between oil paint and oxygen.

Painting the floor with paint

Thus, the paint layer becomes much stronger and also more resistant to impact on it. different kind alkalis. But remember that the heater must not be left unattended.

The composition of the paint also plays important role during its drying time. Not only temperature regime and external factors may influence this process. When you buy paint, be sure to pay attention to its composition and the recommended paint drying time. Different paint materials have different drying times. Many experts recommend paying attention to the composition of the paint for good reason. It is the list of components that can say a lot, there should be no more than 10 units in the paint.

Good for smoking out odor and drying surface and chemicals, for example, desiccants. These are special paint drying accelerators. Read the instructions for how much to add to the paint, then mix well and use the material for painting. Pay special attention to desiccants, since they not only speed up the drying process of the paint, but also do not significantly affect the quality of the painting.

All these methods can be used together: add desiccants to the paint, apply it in a thin layer and then blow it with warm (but not too hot) air. In this case, the paint will dry very quickly ... but whether such a result is worth the effort and money expended is up to you.

Some owners decide to paint the floors in the room. The procedure is simple, but you need to follow a few basic rules to achieve the perfect result.

Floor painting consists of three stages.

How to wash the floor after painting and how to further care for it

The first of which is the preparation of the floor for this procedure. Clean the floor and wash thoroughly. Then the surface should dry. This usually takes several days.

Now you can proceed directly to painting the floor. For these purposes, use oil paint. If its color seems a little dark to you, dilute it with drying oil.

When the floor is completely dry, start painting it. Apply the first coat of paint in a thin layer to the entire surface of the floor. After applying the first coat of paint, leave the floor again for several days to dry. Then you can apply a second coat of paint.

After the painted floors have dried completely, they need to be washed.

Important! For the first few days, wash freshly painted floors daily to remove oil marks.

Ideal for cleaning floors fit warm water to which a little vinegar is added. Never wash floors with soapy water. In this case, the paint will lose its luster, and the stains will be quite difficult to wash off.

Painted floors are quite rare nowadays, so not everyone knows how to clean and care for painted floors.

In general, the problems of pollution of painted floors are as follows:

  • The appearance of sticky spots;
  • Dirty stains that accumulate at front door;
  • Black stripes from rubber soles.

How to clean painted floors

Vacuum or sweep the floor before removing stains from painted floors. If this leaves dirt or streaks on the floor, take the following measures:

  • It is enough to wipe the stripes left from rubber shoes with a dry cotton cloth. If the stains are deeply ingrained and cannot be removed, take ammonia and dilute it in water (2 tablespoons of alcohol in a bucket of water), then soak a rag in the solution and wipe the floor.
  • Try to remove dirty streaks at the front door with a slightly damp cloth soaked in warm water. It is best to wash the dirt with special means for washing wooden floors (for example, Pronto). Using this tool, treat the dirty area of \u200b\u200bthe floor, and then remove the dirt with a damp microfiber cloth. Let the floor dry, and then, if necessary, repeat the procedure.
  • To get rid of stains left by chewing gum or plasticine, do not use solvents - they will not help painted wooden floors. In order not to ruin the floors, take a few ice cubes, put them in plastic bag and “freeze” the stain with them. Then, using a spatula, remove pieces of dirt from the floor.
  • Paint stains from wooden floors must be removed with alcohol: take a cotton swab dipped in alcohol and apply it to the stain for a few seconds, and then clean it with a spatula. If they still remained on the floor small areas paint, wipe this place ammonia, diluted in water.
  • To remove grease from a painted floor, pour a little cold water on greasy stains, then remove them with a dry cotton cloth.

Caring for painted floors

  • Do not let dust and dirt accumulate on the painted floor. To do this, often use a vacuum cleaner - it is he who will help to remove dust from the pores and crevices of the wooden floor, where neither a broom, nor a brush, nor a damp cloth can be reached.
  • When sweeping a painted floor, wrap the brush with damp gauze while letting the bristles come out. So you get rid of debris and at the same time carry out wet cleaning.
  • To make painted floors shine, wipe already washed floors with water and vinegar (1 cup of vinegar per bucket of water). The same effect is obtained if the washed floor is wiped with a mixture of denatured alcohol and vegetable oil, taken in equal parts. After applying such a mixture, wait until the floor is dry, and rub it with a dry cloth.
  • To keep your painted floors looking their best for as long as possible, use low-gloss emulsions that are commercially available. They are applied by spraying on a clean floor and rubbed with a rag and sponge no more than 1-2 times a month. In this way you will provide the floors protective layer and improve their decorative properties.

To make it easier next time to take care of painted floors, try to leave dirty shoes at the front door and clean at least once a week.
