Homemade mouse trap. An important component is bait

The appearance of mice in the house or on the site is very unpleasant event. There are many ways to get rid of unwanted guests in your home, but they all entail the painful death of the captured animal. Read the previously published article - what it is and how it works!

What to do for those who do not want to kill animals, even if they harm people. Yes, and looking at the torn remains of a mouse is an unpleasant sight. It is much more pleasant to remove pests from your home with the help of humane mousetraps. Below are options on how to make a humane mousetrap without much effort.

To make such a mousetrap, you will need a plastic bottle, adhesive tape or plaster, an iron pan or bucket, a small board and an iron twig.

First you need to install the pan in the place where you plan to hunt mice. Next, you need to make two holes: one in the lid, the other at the bottom of the bottle. A metal rod is threaded through the holes - it should not be shorter or longer than the diameter of the pan.

The length of the twig = the inner diameter of the container

The twig is inserted together with the bottle into the pan. Before that, with the help of adhesive tape, a piece of some food is glued to the middle of the bottle. On one side of the pan, you need to install a board at an angle, which will help the mouse get to the bottle.

It is necessary to pour a little water into the container so that the mouse cannot jump out of it after being hit. When the mouse tries to get to the middle of the bottle, it will have to step on it. The bottle will start spinning on the metal rod and the animal will fall into the pan.

Highly great advantage this mousetrap - with the help of such a device, you can catch several mice per night!

Humane mousetrap - liter jar and walnut

This version of the mousetrap is the simplest. You will need to take a liter glass jar, a piece of cardboard or a large plastic cover, as well as a walnut and a slice of bread.

Grinded roasted seeds are also very popular with mice, so they can be used as bait along with bread. Walnut splits, all contents are removed from the shell. It will take only one half, which must be filled with bread with seeds. Installed on plastic or cardboard glass jar. One edge of the jar is raised and a nut is placed under it. The part filled with bait should be directed inside the can. When you try to pull the bread out of the shell, the mouse will be under the jar. By moving the nut towards her, she will block her exit and be trapped.

Humane mousetrap from a plastic bottle: the swing principle

At first glance, the design of this trap may seem complicated and someone will decide that it will be much easier to buy a humane mousetrap. But it's not. No special fixtures are required. The following components of the future mousetrap will be needed: liter bottle, clothespin, thin iron rod, wooden block.

An iron rod is driven into the middle of a wooden block. Two holes are created in the bottle just above the middle towards the neck. Thanks to them, a bottle without a lid is strung on a rod driven into a wooden block. A clothespin is put on the second tip of the rod so that the bottle does not fly off. Next on the left upper corner the screw is screwed on. It will be the base of the structure that will fix the bottle cap at the same level. The lid should have two holes. Through them, the cap is installed on the pin opposite the neck of the bottle. The lid should not be positioned in the way it is usually positioned to close the bottle, but vice versa.

Inside the bottle is lubricated with bait. The bottle should swing and its upper part, falling down, should rest with the neck against the cork. Thus, the mouse, having made its way into the bottle, will not be able to get out of it, since, making its way to the neck, it will lower the bottle with the weight of its body to the level of the cap, which blocks the exit from the outside.

Humane mousetrap from a bucket

Such a mousetrap is good because it can be used to catch several mice at once. It is better to pour water into a bucket, because mice jump very well. The water will prevent them from jumping out of the trap. A strong iron rod is threaded through the lugs for the bucket holder.

In the middle should be a "springboard" for mice, cut out of a piece of plastic. One end of this plastic board should be adjacent to the edge of the bucket, the other should be suspended. Another important point- fixing the feeder in the middle of the bucket, next to the edge of the plastic. To do this, you can use the same metal rods, fastened together with wire and strung on the main metal rod. In the lid on the feeder you need to put food, trying to get to which, the mouse will fall into a bucket of water. The bait will remain intact, as approaching the edge of the plastic board, the mouse will inevitably fall down.

Conclusion

Any of the above options will help get rid of pests in the house without harming anyone. Materials for the manufacture of such traps are available to absolutely everyone and do not require any cash costs. It is worth making a little effort to enjoy the absence of uninvited guests in your home.

Human life is not complete without pests created by nature - mice. Mousetraps are used to fight them. Usually people buy them from specialized shops, but this method is not always effective because the mice learn to avoid falling into the same mechanism that is used in factory devices. Therefore, it makes sense to try to make a trap yourself.

Mice have long learned to bypass the monotonous factory traps, so you should try homemade traps.

Harmless do-it-yourself devices

Not every person can afford to buy factory mousetraps, especially in large quantities. In this case, you can use homemade mouse traps. Moreover, many of the homemade mousetraps do not kill animals, and this is a significant plus for humane pest hunters.

Thin paper construction

One of the easiest to make is a mousetrap made from a can and paper. To make a trap you will need:

  • jar with a wide neck;
  • paper;
  • scissors;
  • bait.

This video shows how to make mouse traps:

To make such a mousetrap with your own hands, you need to adhere to the following algorithm:

  1. cover the open neck of the can with thin paper;
  2. hang the bait over the jar;
  3. cut the paper in the center in such a way that, standing on it, the mouse falls into the jar;
  4. provide access to the mouse jar by placing it in a place where rodents can often be found.

When the rodent wants to get the bait, it will step on thin layer paper, which will be perceived as a surface and fall into a jar. The cut parts of the paper will close the exit for the prey so that it cannot escape.

Using the jar and lid

The principle of operation of this trap is similar to the previous one: you need a jar with a wide neck and a bait in the form of smoked sausage so that the mouse will definitely smell the smell. But instead of paper, a tin lid is used, the center of which also needs to be cut and the notched tin teeth bent into the can. This is necessary so that the mouse does not get out.

Read on this topic:

Sausage or wheat, which also strongly attracts mice, is placed in a jar. Then you need to put it in a place accessible to mice. In such a simple way, you can make a fairly effective homemade mousetrap at home.

Bridge rotating over the bucket

If there are a lot of rodents in the house, such a trap will become simply irreplaceable. Scroll necessary materials to make it:

  • bucket;
  • long needle (any other thin cylindrical iron object);
  • plastic bottle;
  • bait;
  • scotch.

First you need to put the bottle on the needle so that the edges of the needle remain a few centimeters from the edges of the bottle, the needle itself runs through the center of the neck and bottom of the bottle. Then, in the center of the bottom of the bottle, it is necessary to fix the bait with adhesive tape, and there should be a minimum amount of adhesive tape: its smell can frighten away mice. The made construction of the knitting needle, the bottle and the bait is placed on the opposite edges of the bucket. Tempted by the appetizing bait, the mouse will slip on the spinning bottle and fall into the bucket.

Horizontal trap with a bucket of water is the most effective among homemade

If this mousetrap is intended for reusable use, it should be improved: the needle must not only be placed on a bucket, but threaded through side surfaces buckets, and in such a way that the spoke can easily rotate. If the survival of mice is not a priority, then the bucket can be filled with water.

Gravity trap for rodents

good option makeshift trap for mice is the simplest gravitational device, the principle of which is based on the use of gravity. For self-manufacturing Such a mousetrap will need the following items:

  • plastic bottle;
  • weight in the form of any heavy object;
  • scissors.

In the area of the neck on the surface of the bottle itself, it is necessary to cut a hole in the plastic, through which the mouse will get into the bottle. Then you need to tie the bottle by the neck to any object that can hold it.

The next step is to place the bait on the bottom of the bottle and place the bottle horizontally on the edge of the table so that the part with the bait remains on the weight, but the bottle does not fall. As soon as the mouse reaches the treat, the weight of the part that is on the weight will increase, the bottle will turn over and fall down. She will not be able to fall to the floor because of the weight to which she is tied, and the mouse will remain inside, because the entrance to the bottle is arranged on the neck, and the rodent cannot reach it in such a situation.

Making a plastic trap

For this trap, you only need a plastic bottle, scissors, tape or wire, bait in the form of seeds or bread. First you need to cut the bottle into pieces in a ratio of 1: 2, where the smaller part is the top with the neck, and the larger part is the rest of the bottle with the bottom.

The smaller part must be inserted into the large neck down. Pour seeds or bread on the bottom, to enhance the smell, the neck can be lubricated with oil. Secure the smaller part with wire or tape. Due to the light weight of the bottle, it is necessary to fix it on any surface.

This plastic bottle trap is very effective and does not harm the rodent.

Cans and coins application

The beauty of the can and coin mousetrap lies in its incredible simplicity. The bank is easily replaced by a pan, a coin - by a button or a metal washer. In addition, you will need bait and double-sided tape. In order to make similar design, you need to do the following:

  1. Wrap the bait with tape on both sides.
  2. Place the jar upside down.
  3. Fix the adhesive tape with the bait inside the jar on one side.
  4. Put a coin or puck (button) with an edge and put on this edge, as on a support, the part of the can opposite to the bait.

Thus, the mouse that pulls the bait will also shake the support, so the jar will fall, and the pest will remain inside. This method is suitable for those who do not want to kill the mouse. However, this trap gives a lot of misfires: a breath of wind or a strong draft can shake a coin, and the bank will slam shut ahead of time.

Less humane options

A special glue has been developed for catching mice and insects. Using it is very simple: you need to take a piece of cardboard, fix it tightly and spread glue on it. Then you should put the bait on this cardboard. If a mouse gets in there, it won't be able to get out. But this does not apply to large and strong rats, it is more difficult with them. In addition, such a mousetrap is not the safest, and children or pets can easily step on it. To remove the stuck cardboard, you need to lubricate the skin vegetable oil. Work with such traps must be carried out with gloves.

You can make a mousetrap out of wood. In this case, you need a wooden block measuring 180x160x60 mm. You need to drill a hole in it with a diameter of 3 cm and a depth of 6 cm - a way for a rodent to get inside. It is also necessary to drill holes for installing the spring. You will need a loop and a wire noose. A thin wire noose is attached with a thicker wire loop. The rope connects the mechanism of the spring and the noose. The bait is placed inside the holes drilled for entry. When the mouse tries to take the bait, it will tear the rope with its teeth, and the noose with the help of the spring will do its job.

Any of the traps will good choice for those who are tired of rodents, but there is no opportunity or desire to buy a ready-made mousetrap. It is worth noting that most of them are assembled by improvised means and their manufacture does not require special knowledge. For those who consider it inhumane to kill mice, there are mousetraps that are safe for animals, which you can make yourself.

Baits can range from simple seeds to smoked sausage, you can try each of them in order to understand which is the most effective. Simplicity and low cost of manufacture are the main advantages of the presented mousetraps.

A simple PET bottle mousetrap is shown, but, unfortunately, some of the rodents can escape from it. To improve reliability, several improvements are proposed.

1. Installing the cover on the mousetrap

The mousetrap is made from two identical bottles with a capacity of 1.5-2 liters. In the first bottle, only part of the conical part is cut off, and in the second, the conical part is cut off completely. The conical part of the second bottle will be the cap of the trap.

We make two symmetrical holes on the edges of the conical part of the first bottle for attaching a fishing line and hanging a bottle overturned by a rodent on this fishing line. We attach a lid to the top of the first bottle and mark the centers of two holes with a diameter of 5-7 mm, coinciding with the centers of the holes for the exit of the suspension lines. We make holes in the lid. With my own hands, I pass the fishing line through the holes in the lid and tie it to the first bottle.

Organization of pulling the lid off the table

Mousetrap refinement

If you install the mousetrap in this form, then when capsized, the cap will not close the bottle in any way and most likely will remain on the table. A special pusher is needed to move the cap behind the bottle. The pusher is made of wire in the form of a cropped letter “P”, the width of the upper shelf should be equal to the distance between the holes for attaching the fishing line. We firmly attach the pusher at a distance of ~ 20 cm from the bottle to the fastening lines. When the bottle falls down, the cap placed between the pusher and the bottle will be thrown off the table by the pusher. The pusher at the same time will optimally straighten the fishing lines for the correct lowering of the cap on the bottle.

The operation of the mousetrap is shown in the video.

You can simplify the homemade product by abandoning the pusher, but for this you will have to organize the suspension of the bottle outside the plane of the table.

2. Lengthening the bottle

We take a plastic PET bottle and cut off a section of the conical part, immediately make a hole in the bottom for the mouse to enter. From the first revision, there was a bottle without a neck. We combine the bottles together, we try to achieve a tight connection and, for the reliability of fastening, we wrap the joint with adhesive tape. The result was a bottle of increased length, and even with an additional obstacle from the conical part. We tie the bottle, put the bait at the bottom and set it for fishing.

Tests of such a homemade mousetrap are shown in the video.

Surely a good design will come from two bottles with cut bottoms and one neck. The bottles are combined and also connected with adhesive tape, the presence of a bottom from the conical part during capsizing will further complicate the accurate jump of the rodent to freedom.

An elongated bottle allows you to move the battlefield from buildings to the surrounding area. The combined bottles under the hole for the entrance of the rodent are vertically buried in the ground (carefully so that the structure does not collapse under the weight of the earth). I put the bait inside. We regularly check the results, if necessary, reinstall such mousetraps.

The topic of designing mousetraps is very interesting and will be continued.

In the future, a simple, reliable and very sensitive office floor mousetrap and an automatic reusable mousetrap made of PET bottles will be published.

"Mouse fuss" in the apartment causes not only irritation, but also understandable anxiety. Where rodents appear, you can expect anything: from spoiled food, cereals, furniture to unpleasant and dangerous diseases in residents of houses and apartments (leptospirosis, hemorrhagic fever, plague, etc.). At the first sign of mice in your home, you need to take immediate action. The simplest of them is to catch pests. There are special devices that can be purchased at hardware and gardening stores. But it is quite possible to make traps for mice on your own.

Can and bucket trap

Notice! A do-it-yourself mousetrap will cost less, while not yielding in efficiency. The most straightforward, low-cost way, which even a child can do, is a trap from a can.

  • Here is one of the options. You will need a glass jar (1 liter), a coin, a piece of a thick branch (sticks) with a length equal to the diameter of the jar. Then everything is simple. A bait is strung on a branch (best of all, meat dipped in sunflower oil). The branch is inserted stretched in the middle of the volume of the can. The container is then turned over. One edge rests on a table or floor, and the other on a coin set on an edge. A delicate balance is maintained, which is disturbed as soon as the mouse tries to remove the bait. The jar slides off the coin and slams the "booty".
  • According to the same principle, a box from under the cake “works”. Do not rush to throw away the container after the treats eaten the day before. Poke a hole in the middle of the lid. Insert half of the ear cleaning stick into it, moreover, the end with cotton wool should remain outside, and the broken part should stick out in the box, stick a toothpick with bait into it. Place a bar of soap or any other weight that can hold it in place on top of the lid. closed. One edge of the lid is raised above the base of the box and rests on the half of the used ear stick (on its cotton end). The other is attached to the base with a stapler. The mouse will come running to the smell of the bait and try to remove it from the toothpick. At the same time, the emphasis falls, and the lid slams shut, and a bar of soap holds it in case of possible encroachments of a rodent to get out into the wild.
  • You can even benefit from catching mice from a small bucket, a plastic or 200 ml aluminum can (from carbonated drinks), a round rod or a piece of metal wire. The bottom line is that the mouse gets to the bucket, on which a bar will be placed on top with a canister strung on it and freely rotating. The cylindrical part itself is placed over a bucket 1/3 filled with water. A bait is fixed on top of the cylinder. Pave the approaches to the bucket so that the mouse can freely reach it. Seeing the bait, he will try to get it and get on a rotating can, after which he will fall into the water.
  • Another working mousetrap without misfires. Everything is also a bucket, slightly filled with water, below, at the edge of the table. Above it, you need to build a hanging structure from what is at hand: a notebook cover, a desktop calendar made in the form of a house. If there is no calendar, then the cover of the notebook is rolled up, a pyramid is built from it - a kind of house. And install it on the edge of the countertop in such a way that half of the length is only on it, and the other hangs over the bucket. The bait is placed on the edge of the "house". And then the mechanism is still the same: in the hope of getting food, the mouse, having thrown over, ends up in a bucket.

DIY trap from a glass jar

Plastic empty containers: do not rush to throw away!

It is easy to build a device for catching mice from a plastic bottle, preferably a 2-liter one, but a smaller volume is also suitable. To do this, cut with a knife or scissors upper part(to the waist). With a red-hot knitting needle or awl, make a hole just below the cut. Thread a fishing line (thin rope) into it. Its length should be such that the device hangs freely. Install a homemade mousetrap from a bottle in the place most visited by rodents in horizontal position. If this is the kitchen, then on the table. Moreover, the surface of the countertop must be smooth.

Interesting! The bait is placed in the bottle near the bottom. The container lies on its side, while the bottom part hangs behind the table top, and the main part, with a cut off neck, is on the table. A fishing line or rope with the second end is tied, for example, to a heating pipe, flower pot, etc. It remains to wait when, having smelled the bait, the mouse will climb into the container. The bottle will tip over under the weight of the rodent and hang on the fishing line.

Plastic bottle trap - primitive but works

  • Can plastic container for 1.5 liters, use it differently. Cut off the top with cork and a little margin. This is already useless stuff. Further in the work will be the resulting vessel. In it, the upper edge is cut with triangular teeth 5-7 cm long. Place the bait on the bottom of the cut bottle. The cut teeth are bent inward to fit the inner surface walls. Remaining round hole be just the right size for a rodent to crawl into. Homemade mousetrap laid horizontally. Getting into it, the mouse will not be able to get out because of the resistance of sharp teeth.
  • If there is no “plastic” at hand, we make a mousetrap from a Champagne bottle. Pour a little toasted oil into it (30 ml is enough), distribute it over the entire bottle by shaking. Be sure to apply oil on the inside of the neck with your finger. The neck of the bottle is placed on a brick or a piece of cinder block. The bottom under the emphasis is on the ground or other surface much lower. To prevent the container from falling, supports are made from the same pieces of bricks. The mouse will definitely be attracted by the smell of oil, and it will "dive" into the "Champagne", and slippery oily walls will not allow you to get back.
  • You can make a design from an empty tin can with unfinished lid. On its wall, at a height of 10 mm from the base, draw a circle with a felt-tip pen. Diameter - 20 mm or other. To do this, use a coin. Pierce the jar in the center of the circle with a knife. From this hole, cut pointed wedges with scissors, expanding from the center to the outlined border of the circle. With pliers or tweezers, bend the sharp rays into the middle of the jar. Outside should be a smooth hole. Place the bait inside at the bottom. Bend the lid to its original position, covering the jar. Set in place where mice crawl. Curious animals will definitely want to check the contents of the mousetrap and crawl into it. “Bristled” teeth will prevent them from getting back out.

Glue trap

Everything ingenious is simple: cardboard + glue + bait

It is easy to make a trap for mice from a sheet of cardboard, plastic (the size of a notebook page), a special glue of increased fixation, designed for catching rodents and insects. For this, a cardboard base is cut out. Glue is applied to it with special paths 2-3 cm wide with gaps between the strips of 4 cm. Pieces of the bait are laid out in these places.

Advantages of a homemade device

Mousetrap design own production has a number of advantages:

  • always found in the economy consumable, which can be adapted for this case;
  • choice of design;
  • development of creative principles in the approach to the manufacture of a mousetrap;
  • cost-effective design: in the event of a breakdown, you can always make another model from the same improvised materials.

Are there mice in the house? It is unlikely that a person will be delighted with such neighbors. Rodents need to be removed immediately. Poison is not the most humane and harmless way, because pets can suffer from poison. A do-it-yourself mousetrap from a plastic bottle will come to the rescue. Let's try to make a trap for rodents.

Pros of homemade traps

When rodents appear in the house or in the country, the question immediately arises of how to get rid of uninvited guests. You can take special chemicals, but this is not always safe, especially if there are small children or animals in the house. Buying several mousetraps in a store at once is a costly business, and they do not always work.

Having shown imagination and ingenuity, you can make a mousetrap from improvised materials. The advantages of such traps are as follows:

  • availability;
  • ease of installation;
  • small costs;
  • the ability to self-reload;
  • such mousetraps do not need to be monitored constantly.

Choosing a bait

All adults and children remember the cartoon "Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers". The protagonist- Mouse Roquefort, loved madly cheese. Yes, indeed, mice are very attracted to such a tidbit. But cheese bait is not the only option.

So, mice cannot ignore the taste of roasted sunflower seeds. They also gravitate towards fresh fat. An excellent option for bait is a container with sesame oil. You can fry a little refined sunflower oil and dip a piece of bread in it.

Efficient mousetrap: no misfire

How is a do-it-yourself mousetrap made without misfires? The main task in this case is to catch the rodent and get rid of it as soon as possible. To design a mousetrap, you will need an empty plastic bottle.

Advice! It is advisable to choose containers with a nominal volume of at least 1 liter. And in a mousetrap made from a five-liter bottle, you can immediately catch a whole brood.

Required materials and tools:

  • plastic bottle with a nominal volume of 3 liters;
  • wire;
  • wooden skewers;
  • paper clips;
  • bait;
  • stationery cutter or scissors.

Step by step description of the process:

On a note! It is not necessary to completely cut off the top of the bottle. The bottom of the bottle should be intact.

  1. We attach any bait to this edge of the paper clip. In our case, this is hard cheese.

  2. Similarly, we pierce the skewer through the holes made in the bottom of the bottle.

  3. In the upper part of the bottle, insert a wooden skewer into the holes made.

  4. Again, we make a hole with an awl or a nail.
  5. On the opposite side, we outline two more points symmetrically.
  6. With the help of an awl or a nail, we make punctures in the intended places.

  7. Both points must be symmetrical and located at the same distance from the cut of the bottle.
  8. We mark two points with a marker and a ruler. One - at the top of the bottle, the second - at the bottom.
  9. To build a mousetrap, we need an empty and clean plastic bottle.

  10. We measure literally 10 cm from the neck and make an even cut in a circle.

  11. At the bottom of the bottle, almost near the bottom, we make a hole.

  12. Now we take any strong rope.
  13. Fold it in half and make a loop at the end.
  14. We measure the length of the rope from the hole made at the bottom to the bottle cap.

  15. We pull the rope. Open the cap of the bottle.
  16. We insert a rope into the hole and put a lid on top.
  17. We twist it well. Thus, we fixed the rope.

  18. We take a paper clip and gently unbend one part to make a point.

  19. We stretch each elastic band over both edges of wooden skewers.

  20. We do the same with the opposite side.
  21. Put the bait inside the bottle.
  22. We insert the tip of the paper clip into the hole made near the bottom.

  23. We pull the rope with a loop.
  24. Thus, we brought the mousetrap into working position.

  25. When the mouse enters the mousetrap and pulls the bait, the paperclip will fall down and the neck of the bottle will close.

On a note! If it is difficult to pierce the bottle, heat the point of an awl or nail a little with fire. A hot awl will easily pierce through the wall of a plastic bottle.

Creative Options

Many masters are creative in creating an effective mousetrap. It is not enough for a mouse to be hooked, as they say. She needs to stay in a locked space until you find her.

Most often, rodents are found in country houses and on land plots. In your yard, you can build an original mouse trap. Here are a few options for you to consider.

Option number 1

We install any deep container on the site, for example, a bucket or a barrel. On the side we put any wooden block at an angle. Rinse an empty plastic bottle thoroughly and dry it.

Now we do two through holes: one - in the lid, the other - in the bottom. Through these holes we pass a wire or a metal twig.

On a note! The length of the wire must match the diameter of the barrel so that the bottle can be fixed. We fasten the bait from above with a paper clip.

When the mouse tries to get the bait, the bottle will turn over and the rodent will be at the bottom of the barrel.

Option number 2

This will require ingenuity. Take any plastic bucket, preferably elongated rectangular shape. On the side, at an angle, we put a plank or a plastic stick.

Now about the mechanism. From any improvised material we cut out a strip, the size of which should correspond to the diameter of the container.

Make a hole in the middle and insert a metal or plastic tube. We install this design inside the bucket. We put the bait on the very edge.

When the mouse tries to get to the bait, the installed perch will turn over and the rodent will be trapped.

Option number 3

We take a plastic bottle with a nominal volume of two liters. We measure the height of the bottle and divide the resulting number by three. We measure the third part of the bottle from the neck and cut it off.

We put any bait at the bottom of the container. Lubricate the neck of the bottle sunflower oil. Now we put the cut-off part with the neck down in the part of the bottle with the bottom. To prevent the parts of the bottle from moving, you can fix them with wire, a paper clip, double-sided tape or glue.

The mouse will easily slip through the neck, lubricated with oil, but will not be able to get back.

Option number 4

Another easy option. plastic bottle with a nominal volume of at least 1.5 liters cut in a circle. Cut off the neck of the bottle in the part where the narrowing begins. We put any bait at the bottom.

Now the most interesting part. We need to make a hole in the wall of the bottle and tie any strong rope. Twine thread will do. We measure right size thread so that it can be freely fixed on a horizontal surface.

Advice! It is better to install such a mousetrap on a table or shelf.

I put the bottle so that it most of hung from the surface. Using a rope from the side of the neck, we fix the mousetrap to a table or shelf. As soon as the mouse gets inside the bottle and approaches the bait, the center of gravity will shift, causing the bottle to slip and hang in the air.

Important! The rope to the bottle and the surface must be attached firmly so that there is no misfire.
