Directions and specialties of irgtu. Irkutsk State Technical University

All more young people makes a choice in favor of technical universities. Specialists who have graduated from the walls of such universities are in demand in the labor market. They will be able to find work not only in their hometown, but also outside it. Irkutsk Technical State University became one of the most popular among Irkutsk applicants.

History of the university

Irkutsk has rich history. It was opened back in 1930. But then it was called the Siberian Mining Institute. Over the years, the institution has changed its name several times. So, a little later, this was renamed the East Siberian Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals and Gold. But this did not last long. Soon it was named the East Siberian Mining Institute, and then - the Irkutsk Mining and Metallurgical Institute. And only after that the name Irkutsk State Technical University appeared.

Institutes and faculties of ISTU

Currently, 6 institutes and main faculties are offered to applicants. A variety of training programs are offered by the Irkutsk State Technical University. Specialties will be of interest not only to children who love physics and mathematics, but also to the humanities.

The Institute of Subsoil Use is one of the oldest departments of the university. Slightly younger - architectural and construction. In addition, applicants are offered the institute of aircraft engineering and transport. The Faculty of Physics and Technology is very popular among applicants. And the guys who want to connect their lives with culture and art will be interested in the institute fine arts and Social Sciences and Humanities ISTU. Despite the fact that the university is technical, humanities students who chose ISTU receive an excellent education in the direction they like. Or maybe you want to become a good economist and learn all the secrets of economic development? Well, you are welcome! The Institute of Economics, Management and Law is waiting for you.

In total, Irkutsk State Technical University trains specialists in 34 areas and 86 specialties. Students are given the opportunity to study both and the humanities. Irkutsk State Technical University offers a wide choice. Faculties here are very different. There are 18 of them in total, but the main ones are 4. These are the faculties of cybernetics, applied linguistics, chemical-metallurgical and energy.

Branch of ISTU

ISTU has representative offices in Siberia and cities Far East. They can be found in almost every major city.

But in Usolye-Sibirskoye there is not just a representative office, but a real branch. Here students receive knowledge that is in no way inferior to what is taught at the head university. But it is only worth considering that the choice of specialties is not so rich.

The Faculty of Technology is offered to the attention of applicants, which is popular with both girls and boys. In addition to full-time, part-time is offered. Those who want to combine study with work should pay attention to the correspondence and evening faculty.

Everything for the convenience of students

All conditions have been created on the territory of the university so that students feel comfortable and receive as much knowledge as possible. The university has 10 main educational buildings equipped with computer technology. For out-of-town students, ISTU hostel is offered. Irkutsk State Technical University is very popular; every year, thousands of applicants apply for budgetary and commercial places. Do not worry that at least one of the applicants will be left without a place in the hostel, because there are 12 of them.

In addition, ISTU took care of its teachers. On campus there are houses designed specifically for them.

Students will be able to reinforce their strength in the dining room or in the cafe. Both there and there prices are moderate and will not hit too hard on the wallet. Those who are true patriots of their university are invited to buy things with symbols. It can be a badge, a T-shirt, a scarf or something else.

In order to play sports, all conditions are also provided. Students actively attend a well-equipped complex.

In addition, the university has its own sanatorium, where you can relax, improve your health and celebrate some event. Every year, freshmen are taken there so that they can get to know each other better.

The international cooperation

Like any modern university, ISTU has a large number of partners in other countries. University students who have proven themselves during their studies and have shown their extraordinary thirst for knowledge can go to one of the educational institutions that is on the list of university employees and undergo an internship. Even a short practice in another country will allow you to become even more noticeable in the labor market and find a well-paid job.

ISTU students have a chance to get Russian and German diplomas. There is also an opportunity to get acquainted with Korea.

Creative activity of students

ISTU students not only gnaw at the granite of science. They develop in various directions, one of which, of course, is creativity. The university has various associations of interest. These are both vocal and dance groups. Students will be able to feel all the charm of the folk song and demonstrate it to others in the Kalina circle. The dance studio "Steps" will help you to become healthy and beautiful. Very unusual and beautiful are the performances of the guys who, outside of school hours, are engaged in the plastic dance studio "Art-graphic". You can discover your talents in a new field at the Piramida design studio.

And that's just short list those associations of interest in which students are involved. Anyone who wants to discover their talents or learn something new will be able to choose what will be interesting to them.

Every year the university hosts various concerts organized by students. Dancers, singers, actors and many other talented individuals demonstrate their knowledge and skills, and then defend the honor of their university on the all-Russian stage.

Sports life of the university

Not only creative guys, but also athletes will not stand aside. Those who are interested in a healthy lifestyle, who want to speak and compete for the honor of their university in competitions, are invited to big choice. Students will be able to play in a team or show themselves in the individual competition.

Every year, the Spartakiad is held on the territory of the university. Students show who is the strongest, dexterous, fastest. All children who have a physical fitness or a desire to acquire it will be able to become members of the university team in football, basketball or volleyball.

Admission to the University

You need to prepare for admission to a university long before graduation. It is better to start two years or at least a year before High school prom. At this time, you will need to decide on your future profession, choose the faculty that meets your desires, and see what subjects you need to choose for passing the exam to go where you want.

It is worth remembering that each faculty has its own requirements. For example, in order to enter the Faculty of Chemical Technology, you will need to take chemistry. Are you interested in sociology? You have to take social studies. The university conducts some exams within its walls. So, for example, in order to enter the faculty of journalism, you will need to pass a mandatory creative competition at ISTU.

An excerpt characterizing the Irkutsk National Research Technical University

“Be careful,” my guest said.
- Careful about what? I asked.
“You were born…” was the answer.
His tall figure began to waver. The field swirled. And when I opened my eyes, to my great regret, my strange stranger was nowhere to be found. One of the boys, Romas, stood in front of me and watched my "awakening". He asked what I was doing here and if I was going to pick mushrooms ... When I asked him what time it was, he looked at me in surprise and I realized that everything that happened to me took only a few minutes! ..
I got up (it turned out that I was sitting on the ground), dusted myself off and was about to go, when I suddenly noticed a very strange detail - the whole meadow around us was green!!! As amazingly green as if we found her in early spring! And what was our general surprise when we suddenly noticed that even beautiful spring flowers! It was absolutely amazing and, unfortunately, completely inexplicable. Most likely, it was some kind of "side" phenomenon after the arrival of my strange guest. But unfortunately, I could not explain or at least understand this at that time.
- What have you done? Romas asked.
"It's not me," I muttered guiltily.
“Well then, let’s go,” he agreed.
Romas was one of those rare then friends who were not afraid of my “antics” and were not surprised at anything that constantly happened to me. He just believed me. And so I never had to explain anything to him, which for me was a very rare and valuable exception. When we returned from the woods, I was shaking with chills, but I thought that, as usual, I just had a little cold and decided not to disturb my mother until something more serious happened. The next morning everything was gone, and I was very pleased that this fully confirmed my “version” about a cold. But, unfortunately, the joy was short-lived ...

In the morning, as usual, I went to breakfast. Before I had time to stretch out my hand to a cup of milk, the same heavy glass cup abruptly moved in my direction, spilling some of the milk on the table... I felt a little uneasy. I tried again - the cup moved again. Then I thought about bread... Two pieces lying next to each other jumped up and fell to the floor. To be honest, my hair moved… Not because I was scared. At that time, I was not afraid of almost anything, but it was something very “earthly” and concrete, it was nearby and I absolutely did not know how to control it ...
I tried to calm down, took a deep breath and tried again. Only this time I didn’t try to touch anything, but decided to just think about what I want - for example, to have a cup in my hand. Of course, this did not happen, she again just moved sharply. But I rejoiced!!! All my insides just squealed with delight, because I already understood that it was sharp or not, but it happened just at the request of my thought! And it was absolutely amazing! Of course, I immediately wanted to try the “novelty” on all the living and non-living “objects” around me ...
The first one I came across was my grandmother, who at that moment was calmly preparing her next culinary “work” in the kitchen. It was very quiet, my grandmother was humming something to herself, when suddenly a heavy Cast-iron pan jumped like a bird on the stove and crashed to the floor with a terrible noise ... Grandmother jumped up in surprise worse than that the pan itself ... But, to her credit, she immediately pulled herself together and said:
- Stop!
I felt a little offended, because, no matter what happened, out of habit, they always blamed me for everything (although at the moment this, of course, was the absolute truth).
- Why do you think it's me? I asked pouting.
“Well, we don’t seem to have ghosts yet,” Grandma said calmly.
I loved her very much for her equanimity and unshakable calmness. It seemed that nothing in this world could truly "unsettle her." Although, naturally, there were things that upset her, surprised or made her sad, but she perceived all this with amazing calmness. And so I always felt very comfortable and secure with her. Somehow, I suddenly felt that my last “trick” interested my grandmother ... I literally “felt in my gut” that she was watching me and waiting for something else. And of course, I did not keep myself waiting long... After a few seconds, all the "spoons and ladles" hanging over the stove flew down with a noisy roar behind the same pan...
- Well, well ... Breaking - not building, would have done something useful, - my grandmother said calmly.
I choked with indignation! Well, please tell me, how can she treat this "incredible event" so coolly?! After all, this is ... SUCH !!! I couldn’t even explain what it was, but I certainly knew that it was impossible to treat what was happening so calmly. Unfortunately, my indignation did not make the slightest impression on my grandmother, and she again calmly said:
Don't waste so much energy on something you can do with your hands. Better go read it.
My indignation knew no bounds! I couldn’t understand why something that seemed so amazing to me didn’t cause her any delight?! Unfortunately, at that time I was still too small a child to understand that all these impressive “external effects” really do not give anything but the same “external effects” ... And the essence of all this is just intoxication with the “mysticism of the inexplicable” gullible and impressionable people, which my grandmother, of course, was not ... But since I had not yet matured to such an understanding, at that moment I was only incredibly interested in what else I could move. Therefore, without regret, I left my grandmother, who “did not understand” me, and moved on in search of a new object of my “experiments” ...
At that time, my father's favorite lived with us, handsome Gray cat- Grishka. I found him sleeping sweetly on warm stove and decided that this is just a very good moment to try his new "art" on it. I thought it would be better if he sat at the window. Nothing happened. Then I concentrated and thought harder... Poor Grishka flew off the stove with a wild cry and crashed his head against the window sill... I felt so sorry for him and so ashamed that I, all around guilty, rushed to pick him up. But for some reason, the unfortunate cat's fur suddenly stood on end and, meowing loudly, rushed away from me, as if scalded by boiling water.
For me it was a shock. I did not understand what happened and why Grishka suddenly took a dislike to me, although before that we were very good friends. I chased him almost the whole day, but, unfortunately, I could not beg forgiveness for myself ... His strange behavior lasted four days, and then our adventure, most likely, was forgotten and everything was fine again. But it made me think, because I realized that, without wanting it myself, with the same unusual “abilities” I can sometimes harm someone.
After this incident, I became much more serious about everything that unexpectedly manifested in me and “experimented” much more carefully. All the following days, of course, I just fell ill with a “movement” mania. I mentally tried to move everything that caught my eye ... and in some cases, again, I got very deplorable results ...
So, for example, I watched in horror as the shelves of neatly folded, very expensive, daddy's books "organized" fell on the floor and with shaking hands I tried to put everything back in place as quickly as possible, since books were a "sacred" object in our house and before you take them - you had to earn them. But, to my happiness, dad was not at home at that moment and, as they say, this time it “swept through” ...
Another very funny and at the same time sad incident happened to my father's aquarium. My father, as far as I can remember, was always very fond of fish and dreamed of one day building a large aquarium at home (which he later did). But at that moment, for lack of a better place, we just had a small round aquarium that could only hold a few colorful fish. And since even such a small “living corner” brought spiritual joy to dad, everyone in the house looked after him with pleasure, including me.
And so, on one “ill-fated” day, when I was just passing by, all occupied with my “moving” thoughts, I accidentally looked at the fish and regretted that they, poor things, had so little space to live freely ... The aquarium suddenly trembled and, To my great dismay, it burst, spilling water around the room. The poor fish did not have time to come to their senses, as they were, with great appetite, eaten by our beloved cat, who suddenly, right from the sky, received such an unexpected pleasure ... I felt really sad, because in no way did I want to upset dad , and even more so, to interrupt someone's, even a very small, life.
That evening I was waiting for my dad in a completely broken state - it was very insulting and ashamed to make such a stupid mistake. And although I knew that no one would punish me for this, for some reason it was very bad in my soul and, as they say, “cats scratched” very loudly in it. I realized more and more that some of my "talents" in certain circumstances can be very, very unsafe. But, unfortunately, I did not know how to manage it, and therefore I became more and more anxious about the unpredictability of some of my actions and their possible consequences with completely undesirable results ...
But I was still just a curious nine-year-old girl and could not long worry about the tragically dead, though completely my fault, fish. I still diligently tried to move everything that came across to me and rejoiced inexpressibly at any unusual manifestation in my "research" practice. So, one fine morning during breakfast, my milk cup suddenly hung in the air right in front of me and continued to hang, and I had no idea how to lower it ... Grandmother at that moment was in the kitchen and I frantically tried to something to “figure out” so that you don’t have to blush again and explain yourself, expecting to hear complete disapproval on her part. But the unfortunate cup stubbornly did not want to go back. On the contrary, she suddenly moved smoothly and, as if teasingly, began to describe wide circles over the table ... And the funny thing is that I couldn’t grab her.
Grandma returned to the room and literally froze on the threshold with her cup in her hand. Of course, I immediately rushed to explain that “she just flies like that ... and, is it really very beautiful?” ... In short, I tried to find any way out, just not to seem helpless. And then I suddenly felt very ashamed ... I saw that my grandmother knew that I simply could not find the answer to the problem that had arisen and was trying to “disguise” my ignorance with some unnecessary beautiful words. Then, indignant at myself, I gathered my “beaten” pride into a fist and quickly blurted out:
“Well, I don’t know why she flies!” And I don't know how to put it down!
Grandmother looked at me seriously and suddenly said very cheerfully:
- So try it! That is why your mind is given to you.
It's like a mountain has been lifted off my shoulders! I really disliked appearing incompetent, and especially when it came to my "strange" abilities. And so I tried ... From morning to evening. Until I fell off my feet and it didn’t start to seem that I didn’t understand at all what I was doing. Some wise man said that three paths lead to higher intelligence: the path of reflection is the most noble, the path of imitation is the easiest, and the path of experience on one's own neck is the hardest. So I apparently always chose for some reason the most difficult path, since my poor neck really suffered greatly from my never-ending, endless experiments ...
But sometimes “the game was worth the candle” and my hard work was crowned with success, as it finally happened with the same “movement” ... After some time, any desired objects moved, flew, fell and rose when I I wanted it and it didn’t seem difficult at all to manage it ... except for one very disappointing missed opportunity, which, to my great regret, happened at school, which I always honestly tried to avoid. I absolutely did not need extra talk about my "oddities" and especially among my schoolmates!

university campus

On the campus of the university there are 10 main educational buildings, 12 dormitories, residential houses of teachers, a polyclinic, a sanatorium, sports complex, shops, cafes, canteens, as well as a technology park.

Story

origins

At the school in 1888, mechanical workshops were opened for practical classes with students. steam engine, plumbing, electricity and modern machine tools. The ultimate goal of the gymnasium and the industrial school was to graduate specialists in technical disciplines with a high general educational level.

In 1893, another specialized secondary educational institution was opened - the Irkutsk Mining School, the main task of which was to train foremen-installers for the needs of the mining business, and especially for the gold industry. The duration of training was determined at 4 years.

In 1918, the school was transformed into a secondary mining technical school, and in 1920 - into the Irkutsk Polytechnic College. But soon the technical school was reorganized into the Irkutsk Polytechnic Practical Institute (Irpolprin).

Due to the difficult economic situation in the country, temporarily all educational establishments transferred to the content of the local budget. In August 1923, Irpolprin was reorganized into the East Siberian Polytechnic of regional significance.

Subsequently, the polytechnic became the basis for the opening of the Siberian Mining Institute in Irkutsk.

Mining Institute

In March 1929, Irkutsk became the center of the Siberian gold mining industry - the board was transferred here from Moscow. joint-stock company Soyuzzoloto, a scientific and technical center for gold and platinum is being created here. The Mining Institute is located in one of the best buildings in the city on the street. Lenina, 3. The head of the geological exploration department of the board of Soyuzzoloto S. V. Sergeev was appointed its first director, and Professor G. V. Klyuchansky was appointed deputy for educational and scientific work.

At the same time, a working faculty (rabfak) was opened. He carried out pre-university education, and its significance in those years was enormous. In addition, for the heads of enterprises in Siberia and the Far East, who do not have higher education, the institute organized accelerated training in the form of advanced training courses.

Mining and Metallurgical Institute

Priority tasks in - 1945 were: scientific developments for the military industry, all-round assistance to the front, the preservation of the student body, the admission of new replenishment, the timely release of specialists. These tasks had to be carried out under extremely difficult conditions.

Two educational buildings with part of the equipment and transport had to be vacated for the military (cartridge) plant No. 540, the workers of the plant were allocated a significant number of places in hostels. Another part of the equipment was transferred to the trust Vostsibugol. Required inventory and study guides were transferred to support the specialized evacuated universities - Leningrad and Dnepropetrovsk, many material values stored in warehouses.

In the first year of the war, the mining and metallurgical department changed several premises (law school, agricultural institute), until in 1942 it received the building of the Pedagogical Institute on the street. Transport, 3.

With moving from one room to another, part of the collection of the mineralogical museum was lost (out of 15 thousand samples by 1947, only 3.5 were left), library books, the equipment of laboratories and classrooms fell into disrepair. The material base was created almost anew.

Classes were in three shifts - from morning to midnight. The reading room of the library had only 70 jobs, the sports room had only 25. Only 700 students were provided with dormitories, and the bulk of the dormitories were barracks to be demolished, because all their depreciation periods had long expired. Only at the end of 1951, the construction of a hostel for 446 people began. The construction of the new educational building of the institute was constantly postponed.

In April 1955, the Minister of Higher Education of the USSR V.P. Elyutin approved the assignment for the design of the institute, and in 1956 large-scale construction began, which the city did not yet know: a student campus was being created. At the same time, an institute, dormitories, residential buildings, a factory-kitchen were being built on a huge site.

Polytechnical Institute

On March 19, 1960, the Mining and Metallurgical Institute became known as the Polytechnic Institute.
