Like wax melts in the face of fire, prayer. Short form in Church Slavonic

May God rise again

Mark yourself with a cross and say a prayer to the Honest Cross:

May God rise again, and may His enemies be scattered, and may those who hate Him flee from His presence. As smoke disappears, let them disappear; As wax melts in the face of fire, so let demons perish in the presence of those who love God, and those who sign the sign of the cross, and who joyfully say: Rejoice, Most Pure and Life-Giving One Holy Cross, drive away the demons by the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has fallen upon you, descended into hell, and trampled upon the power of the devil, and who gave us His Honest Cross to drive away every adversary. O Most Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord! Help me with the Holy Virgin Mary, and with all the saints forever. Amen.

Or briefly:

Protect me, Lord, by the power of Your Honest and Life-giving Cross, and save me from all evil.

PSALM 67 - May God rise again

1 To the director of the choir. Psalm of David. Song. 2 Let God* arise, and let His enemies be scattered, and let those who hate Him flee from His presence. 3 As smoke dissipates, You scatter them; As wax melts in the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. 4 But let the righteous rejoice, let them rejoice before God and triumph in joy. 5 Sing praises to our God, sing praises to His name, exalt Him who walks in the heavens; His name is Lord, and rejoice in His presence. 6 God is the father of the fatherless and the judge of widows in his holy habitation. 7 God brings the lonely into the house, frees the prisoners from their shackles, but the disobedient remain in the hot desert. 8 God! when You went out before Your people, when You walked in the wilderness, 9 the earth shook, even the heavens melted at the presence of God, and this Sinai at the presence of God, the God of Israel. 10 You, O God, poured abundant rain on your inheritance, and when it was exhausted from labor, you strengthened it. 11 Your people dwelt there; According to Your goodness, O God, You prepared what was necessary for the poor. 12 The Lord will give the word: there will be a great multitude of messengers. 13 Kings of armies flee and flee, but she who sits at home divides the spoil. 14 Having settled down in [your] inheritances, you became like a dove, whose wings are covered with silver, and whose feathers are pure gold: 15 When the Almighty scattered the kings in this land, it turned white as the snow on Selmon. 16 The Mountain of God is Mount Bashan! high mountain - Mount Vasanskaya! 17 Why do you look with envy, O high mountains, at the mountain on which God is pleased to dwell and the Lord will dwell forever? 18 Dark chariots of God, thousands upon thousands; the Lord is among them at Sinai in the sanctuary. 19 You ascended on high, you took captivity captive, you accepted gifts for men, so that even those who resist could dwell with the Lord God. 20 Blessed be the Lord every day. God puts burdens on us, but He also saves us. 21 God for us is God for salvation; in the power of the Lord Almighty are the gates of death. 22 But God will crush the head of His enemies, the hairy crown of the one who is stubborn in his iniquities. 23 The Lord said, “I will bring you back from Bashan, I will bring you out of depth of the sea 24 that you may immerse your foot, like your dogs, their tongue, in the blood of your enemies." 25 We have seen your procession, O God, the procession of my God, my King, in the holy place: 26 the singers walked in front, the players behind, the maidens in the middle. timbrels: 27 “In the congregations, bless the God of the Lord, you of the seed of Israel!” 28 There the prince of Judah is their ruler, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali. 29 Your God has ordained for you strength. what have you done for us! 30 For the sake of your temple in Jerusalem the kings will bring you gifts. 31 Tame the beast in the reeds, the herd of oxen among the bulls of the nations, scattering the nations who desire war. 32 The nobles from Egypt will stretch out their hands to God. 33 Kingdoms of the earth, sing praises to the Lord, 34 who walks in the heavens of heaven from all eternity. Behold, He gives His voice the voice of power. 35 Give glory to God! O God, in Your sanctuary, the God of Israel - He gives strength and strength to [His] people. Blessed be God! Prayer:

When tempted by demons, understand the importance of not only prayer, but also fasting: “.. this generation is driven out only by prayer and fasting” (Matthew 17:21). As experience shows, it is demonic temptations among the laity that begin after committing grave mortal sins - so repent. And finally, there was the patristic opinion that only monastics or righteous lay people are subject to demonic falls, ordinary people, as those who are weak by nature, are tempted only by their own lusts, and not by demons: “but everyone is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own lust” (James 1:14).

Prayer "May God rise again..."

May God rise again, and may His enemies be scattered, and may those who hate Him flee from His presence. Like the smoke disappears; let them disappear; just as wax melts in the face of fire, so let demons perish from the face of those who love God and signify themselves with the sign of the cross, and who say in joy: Rejoice, Most Honorable and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, drive away the demons by force on you of our Lord Jesus Christ, who descended into hell and straightened the power the devil, and who gave us His Honest Cross to drive away every adversary. O Most Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord! Help me with the Holy Virgin Mary and with all the saints forever. Amen.

Psalm 90 "Alive in the help of the Most High..."

Living in the help of the Most High, he will settle in the shelter of the Heavenly God. Says the Lord: Thou art my Protector and my Refuge, my God, and I trust in Him. For Toy will deliver you from the snare of the trap, and from rebellious words; His blanket will cover you, and you will trust under His wing; His truth will surround you with weapons. Do not be afraid from the fear of the night, from the arrow that flies during the day, from the thing that passes in the darkness, from the cloak and demon of the midday. Thousands will fall from your country, and darkness will fall at your right hand, but it will not come close to you. Look at your eyes and see the reward of sinners. For You, O Lord, are my hope; You have made the Most High your refuge. Evil will not come to you, and wound will not come close to your body. As His Angel commanded you, keep you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their arms, but not when you dash your foot against a stone; tread on the asp and the basilisk, and cross the lion and the serpent. For I have trusted in Me, and I will deliver; I will cover and because I have known My name. He will call to Me, and I will hear him: I am with him in sorrow, I will destroy him, and I will glorify him; I will fill him with long days, and show him My salvation.

Reading psalms for every need- which psalms to read in different circumstances, temptations and needs

Complete collection and description: may God rise again prayer why is it read for the spiritual life of a believer.

There are cases when the text of a prayer confuses a Christian turning to God. One example of such words is the prayer “May God rise again.” If you managed to download it in audio format, we recommend listening to it carefully.

Perhaps a believer will suspect that it encourages idolatry, because one of the lines contains a direct appeal to the “Most Honorable, Viviparous Cross.”

Of course, in reality there is no need to be afraid of this phrase, since Orthodox prayer has existed for a long time, and we do not turn to the cross at all, but directly to God.

Do not take this phrase literally as it is a metaphor, the likes of which appear regularly in scripture. In fact, it is possible and even necessary to read the appeal, and not only when difficulties begin in life, but at any other time.

When, where, why is prayer read?

When turning to God, a Christian expresses the belief that the sign of the cross is the most powerful means of driving out demons, and we also ask the Lord for help. Therefore, Sunday prayer is relevant when any difficulties in life arise, especially when there is reason to believe that evil forces are interfering in life. Jesus Christ was crucified on the Cross, saving people from eternal death in hell, gave eternal life.

Sunday prayer is read within the walls of the church and at home. It is advisable for the believer to undergo the rite of baptism so that the words have greater power. It is advisable to read it opposite the icon of Jesus Christ, or looking at the crucifix.

Brief interpretation of the prayer

God will help everyone, the main meaning of her words is a request to protect mortals from the forces of the devil. The words of the Sunday prayer contain information about how Jesus Christ, being crucified on the cross, thereby saved humanity, granted it the Kingdom of Heaven, and defeated the devil. With words we confirm this fact and ask the Lord to grant us protection, to protect believers by the power of the Life-giving Cross, to protect us from evil.

Learn the words, repeat them daily

The translation can be downloaded without problems, however the best solution will memorize its words and repeat it daily.

This Orthodox prayer is one of the most famous and effective, just as the “Our Father” is used by Orthodox Christians for any purpose.

Sunday prayer will help protect against the forces of evil, God will give believers strength and strengthen their faith.

Prayer God will rise again: comments

Comments - 3,

The prayer “May God rise again and His enemies be scattered” has been familiar to me since childhood. Grandmother was a believer, and she revered this prayer along with the “Our Father.” And she explained to me, still a child, how this prayer works. With aggression from people, with the anger of parents, bosses, with attacks from enemies. The main thing, she said, is not to respond in kind. And the Lord himself will scatter everything, and soften hearts, and deliver from enemies - and how, in what traps they will be caught with their own hands, they say, the Lord knows best. This is a powerful prayer, and it has helped me more than once.

Where did prayer come from? evening rule and how to understand it?

This topic is very interesting and by no means simple, since the “father” of this beautiful and powerful prayer can be considered the 67th Psalm. Interpreters of the Psalter unanimously tell us that this psalm is very difficult to interpret. So, for example, blessed Augustine and Theodoret believed, and the famous pre-revolutionary researcher of the Holy Scriptures, the author of the voluminous and deep work “The Explanatory Bible,” Professor Alexander Pavlovich Lopukhin wrote the following: “This psalm, for its extraordinary conciseness of expression of thoughts, insufficient clarity of the text, abundance of images , was considered the most difficult to explain, and even insurmountable, which is why it was called “a cross for minds and a reproach for interpreters.”

It is not easy to give a detailed interpretation in one article. It is worthy of at least a fairly voluminous brochure. But still we are God's help Let’s try to unravel the leitmotif of this amazing psalm, and therefore of our beloved evening prayer, into which the holy fathers very harmoniously and beautifully wove, of course, with the breath of the Holy Spirit, the initial verses of this Old Testament psalm, complemented by a prayer of New Testament content. And from a literary point of view, this is “not sewn with white thread,” no. But the New Testament meaning of prayer flows organically from the Old Testament symbols, creating a single work that is integral in composition. As a single whole, the work of Christ’s salvation of humanity, begun in Old Testament times and continuing now - in the New Testament period.

So, what is this leitmotif, dear brothers and sisters?

The key to understanding it can be given to us by the troparion of the fourth song of the Paschal Canon: “David, the Father of God, is galloping before the ark of hay, but the holy people of God, seeing the images of the event, rejoice more divinely, as Christ is risen, as omnipotent.”

Many interpreters of the 67th Psalm agree that it was written by the holy prophet and King David on the occasion of the return of the Ark of the Covenant from Philistine captivity in the 11th century BC (after the Philistines, stricken with diseases, sent a cart with the shrine towards the Israelites, it stayed for about twenty years in the small Jewish forest town of Kiriath-jearim). The fifth and sixth chapters of the Old Testament “Second Book of Kings” say that the holy and very loving prophet and king David, by God’s providence, decided to return the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. Before this, his troops defeated the Philistines, whose technical and military strength was several times greater than the same potential of the Jews.

And finally, after more than twenty years, the Ark of the Covenant in Jerusalem. Scripture narrates: “David galloped with all his might before the Lord...” (2 Sam. 6:14). It was such a violent, uncontrollable and holy joy at the same time that his wife Michal condemned him in her heart. For this she was punished by God with infertility.

The Ark of the Covenant returned to Jerusalem after decades. The Great Shrine, and therefore God himself, visited His chosen people. This was a kind of concrete historical restoration of the Covenant between God and man, a symbol of the Almighty’s acceptance of man again into paradise. In fact, this event became an earthly image of paradise. The holy King David rejoiced with spiritual supreme joy, because he foresaw with his prophetic heart the Resurrection of Christ and the Savior’s bringing him, along with the rest of the Old Testament righteous, out of hell. David foresaw the salvation of humanity by the God-man...

That is why the verses of this psalm became the stichera of Easter, which we sing before our New Testament “Ark of the Covenant” - the Throne of God throughout Bright Week. Because for more than a thousand years the joyful melody of the Resurrection of Christ has already rung in them like an Easter “swallow”.

And this joy knew no bounds! And there will be no boundaries. This joy filled to the last atom of the body and to the last nook of the soul the entire being of the holy king and prophet. And she was bigger than him. AND more peace, pouring out of David’s heart, like wine from an overflowing cup, dancing “with all his might,” a dance that does not remember itself, for human nature was then immersed in God.

Therefore, standing over our bed before going to bed, we mark it with a cross (some cross the bed like this: the headboard, then the legs, right side and left side) and our house on four sides, while reciting the verses of the wondrous 67th Psalm, woven into evening prayer, and we believe that by the power of the Honest Life-Giving Cross and the triumph of the Resurrection of Christ, the enemies-demons depart from our beds and homes and hearts - and we can fall asleep, resting peacefully in God.

All the worries, fears, passions and illnesses that now seem to us like huge and dark “Godzilla monsters” will disappear like smoke and melt like wax from the face of fire. After all, the Easter victory of Christ is our victory forever and ever. We, too, were resurrected in Him and also in Him we were victorious forever. It is important to remember this when emotional waves overwhelm our spiritual ship. You just need to raise your eyes and see that our Lord Jesus Christ stands nearby and stretches out His fatherly hand to us, and that the Ark of the Covenant is bright Christ's Resurrection and by the Sacrament of Baptism he has already entered our heartfelt Jerusalem and remains there. And may our hope, like the holy prophet and King David, “galloping while playing,” rejoice with all its might in this fact of the indestructible and indissoluble covenant of the union of God with man.

Prayer “May God rise again and his enemies be scattered…” – text and how to read it correctly

Every believer in his earthly life must take care of the salvation of his soul. One of the most effective means to achieve this goal they act christian prayers. An effective prayer, for example, is “May God rise again and his enemies be scattered,” which is not inferior in popularity to “Our Father.”

Text of the prayer “May God rise again” in Church Slavonic

The Orthodox prayer “May God rise again” is also known among the laity under other names - “Prayer to the Honorable Cross of the Lord” , or Sunday prayer . Full text it sounds in Church Slavonic as follows:

No less in demand is its short form. Words in Church Slavonic:

Interpretation of the elements of prayer and its translation into modern Russian language

Not every person will be able to understand the content of Sunday prayer the first time. The reason for this is the language of the text, outdated words and expressions. If we translate them into modern Russian, we get the following:

  • will be squandered (or will be squandered)- will scatter, scatter;
  • defeat– enemies;
  • enrage– demons, dark forces;
  • signifying– those who apply the sign of the cross to themselves;
  • verbal– speakers;
  • honorable– deeply revered, highly respected (not “very honest”!);
  • trampled down the power of the devil- conquering the power of the devil;
  • drunk- crucified on the cross;
  • adversary– enemy, adversary;
  • life-giving- resurrector, life-giver.

The phrase deserves special attention “he descended into hell and trampled upon the power of the devil”. It conveys the idea that Jesus happened to go to Hell after death and remain there until his miraculous Resurrection. The Son of God was able to bring the saints out of the Underworld and send them to Paradise. Thus, he defeated the devilish force and destroyed it.

As a result, after a thorough analysis of the constituent components of the prayer, it turns out something like this: version in modern Russian:

The translation of the short form of Sunday prayer in public Russian is:

Contents and ideological meaning of the prayer “May God rise again”

The lines of the Sunday prayer glorify Jesus Christ, who gave his life for humanity. Crucified on the cross, the Son of God was able to defeat the devil and found eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven, thereby showing that the common people always have hope for salvation. By his resurrection, Jesus was able to prove that there is nothing terrible in death. The worst thing is an unrighteous lifestyle and the consequences that it can result in.

Looking at the text of the prayer, some Christians may be perplexed, since it contains an appeal to the Cross (an inanimate object), as if to an animate person. This gives rise to thoughts about idolatry, which, as is known, is not welcomed by the Church.

However, this is nothing more than a common misconception. An expression that confuses people - address “Oh, Most Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, help us...”– should not be taken literally, as it is a biblical metaphor. The image of the Cross in Sunday prayer is associated with God himself, and accordingly, the appeal in it is addressed to the Lord. With the help of his honorable cross, Jesus defeated death, resurrected and gained immortality in Paradise.

Why and when is Sunday prayer read?

The prayer “May God rise again and his enemies be scattered” expresses a request to protect mortal people from devilish forces, from all evil with the help of the Life-giving Cross, which is why it is very often called protective. When a person turns to the Lord in prayer, he believes in the power of the sign of the cross, in its ability to protect from the influence of demons.

Sunday prayer is also charged with the task of saving the human soul. Sins and the unwillingness of a mortal to repent for committing them have a destructive effect on the soul. Representatives of dark forces can push a person to commit sins - in a word, evil opposing the Almighty. And the prayer “May God rise again” can protect the believer from the devil’s machinations.

During the “ Ancient Rus'“This prayer text was used for the purpose of driving out demons. This tradition has survived to this day. It is practiced not only in Orthodox Russia, but also in some Catholic states.

When and how is the prayer read?

The primary purpose of the prayer “May God rise again” is to ask the Lord for protection against the unclean. That's why the text can be pronounced in any critical situations that pose a threat to the life of a believer– prayer works at precisely such moments.

Reading “May God rise again and his enemies be scattered” is allowed both within church walls and at home, and in general, anywhere, if there is a need. The words will have even greater power if the person praying has once undergone the sacrament of baptism. Recommended say the Sunday prayer in front of the icon of Christ, in extreme cases - looking at the crucifix(same pectoral cross, available to every baptized person).

“The Prayer to the Honorable Cross of the Lord” is also included in the set of daily prayers for the future sleep. Before reading it, the person praying must always apply the sign of the cross to himself.

“May God rise again,” despite some of its difficulty in understanding, is one of the most powerful prayers. Its regular recitation will provide the believer powerful protection from the outside higher powers, will lead him to salvation and happiness. This is a truly miraculous text, thanks to which a Christian will always find the strength to stand on the side of good, do good deeds and help others.

Thanks to this prayer, I am now alive... Once, during the time of my stormy youth, I got into a terrible accident; in the car, besides me, there were my best friend and 2 of our friends. At the moment of the collision, by some miracle I managed to say short version prayers (my grandmother taught me this as a child), I squeezed my cross in my hands. I was the only one who survived, having escaped with a couple of scratches and bruises... Everyone else died on the spot... I still sometimes see this in nightmares...

Complete collection and description: why the prayer to the honest life-giving cross is read for the spiritual life of a believer.

May God rise again, and may His enemies be scattered, and may those who hate Him flee from His presence. As smoke disappears, let them disappear; as wax melts in the face of fire, so let demons perish from the presence of those who love God and signify the sign of the cross, and who say in joy: Rejoice, Most Honorable and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, drive away the demons by force on you of our Lord Jesus Christ, who descended into hell and straightened the power the devil, and who gave us His Honest Cross to drive away every adversary. O Most Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord! Help me with the Holy Virgin Mary and with all the saints forever. Amen.

Will be squandered- they will scatter, run away. Besi- demons, devils. famous- overshadowing, imposing a sign on oneself. Verbal- speaker. Most Honorable- venerable. Corrected- victorious, prevailing. Damned- crucified. adversary- adversary, enemy. life-giving- life-giving, resurrecting.

In this prayer to the Venerable Cross, we express our belief that the sign of the cross is the most powerful means of driving away demons, and we ask the Lord for spiritual help through the power of the Holy Cross. The cross is called Life-giving because Jesus Christ, being crucified on the Cross, thereby delivered people from eternal death in hell and granted eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Words descended into hell and trampled upon the power of the devil mean that Jesus Christ after His death and before the Resurrection was in hell, from where He brought holy people (for example, Adam, Moses) into the Kingdom of Heaven and thereby showed that He trampled on, or destroyed, the power of the devil.

Translation: May God rise again, and may His enemies be scattered, and may all who hate Him flee from Him. As smoke disappears, so let them disappear; and as wax melts from the fire, so let the demons perish before lovers of God and marked by the sign of the cross and exclaiming in joy: Rejoice, Most Revered and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, driving away demons by the power of our crucified Lord Jesus Christ on you, Who descended into hell and destroyed the power of the devil and gave us You, His Honest Cross, to drive away every enemy. Oh, Most Revered and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, help me with the Holy Lady the Virgin Mary and with all the saints in all ages. Amen.

Fence- garden, protect.

Translation: Protect me, Lord, by the power of Your Honest (Honorable) and Life-giving Cross, and save me from all evil.

This prayer should be said just before going to bed, after kissing the cross worn on the chest and protecting yourself and the bed with the sign of the cross.

Mark yourself with a cross and say a prayer to the Honest Cross

For Orthodox people, prayer in everyday life is of great importance. All believers know the Prayer to the Holy Cross. It can be found in any prayer book. Therefore, it is absolutely easy to find and read it. But to make it more effective, it is recommended to learn it by heart.

In Orthodoxy they turn to the Honest Life-Giving Cross in prayers as the Holy Cross, although it inanimate object. This is explained by the fact that through the use of this symbol in Orthodoxy, communication with the Lord occurs.

The cross in prayer is called Honest. This is due to the fact that this symbol is honored like any other Orthodox shrine. The Orthodox view it as an instrument for the salvation of the human race. The name Life-Giving is explained by the fact that the Cross bestows eternal life on all those who have been baptized. After all, Jesus Christ himself was able to defeat physical death on the cross, and opened the way for people to resurrect and gain eternal life.

The clergy claim that the power of this prayer lies in the fact that for many centuries it has been repeated many times by believers. When praying at home, it is recommended to turn off artificial lighting and completely immersed in his thoughts. If during the day you had to experience negative emotions, then you must first calm down so as not to transfer the resulting negativity to your prayer words. So in a deep cave on which a pagan temple stood, three crosses were discovered. But no one knew which of them caused the terrible torment of the Son of God. And suddenly the Savior himself gave the answer to this question, pointing to the healing effect of the structure. In order to find out the real Cross, the following was done:

  • it was brought to a seriously ill woman - and the disease instantly left her forever;
  • placed on the deceased - and after touching him, the deceased came to life.

After this, Queen Helena brought one part of the Cross to her son, and left the other in Jerusalem. Since then, by uttering sincere, sincere words in prayer: “May God rise again, and be wasted against Him...”, a person receives powerful heavenly protection from any misfortunes. Every believer in his earthly life must take care of the salvation of his soul. One of the most effective means to achieve this goal is Christian prayers.

Full text it sounds like this in Church Slavonic:

No less in demand is its short form. Words in Church Slavonic:

Interpretation of the elements of prayer and its translation into modern Russian language

Not every person will be able to understand the content of Sunday prayer the first time. The reason for this is the language of the text, outdated words and expressions. If we translate them into modern Russian, we get the following:

  • will be squandered (or will be squandered)- will scatter, scatter;
  • defeat– enemies;
  • enrage– demons, dark forces;
  • signifying– those who apply the sign of the cross to themselves;
  • verbal– speakers;
  • honorable– deeply revered, highly respected (not “very honest”!);
  • trampled down the power of the devil- conquering the power of the devil;
  • drunk- crucified on the cross;
  • adversary– enemy, adversary;

During the times of “Ancient Rus'”, this prayer text was used for the purpose of driving out demons.

Recommended say the Sunday prayer in front of the icon of Christ, in extreme cases - looking at the crucifix(the same pectoral cross that every baptized person has).

Its regular recitation will provide the believer with powerful protection from higher powers and will lead him to salvation and happiness. This is a truly miraculous text, thanks to which a Christian will always find the strength to stand on the side of good, do good deeds and help others.

Thanks to this prayer, I am now alive... Once, during the time of my turbulent youth, I got into a terrible accident; in the car, besides me, were my best friend and 2 of our friends. At the moment of the collision, by some miracle I managed to say a short version of the prayer (my grandmother taught me this as a child), and squeezed her cross in her palms. I was the only one who survived, having escaped with a couple of scratches and bruises... Everyone else died on the spot... I still sometimes see this in nightmares...

Every Orthodox Christian should know the prayer “May God rise again!” My mother taught it to me at one time, and I explained the essence of her work to my daughters. Prayer has helped us out more than once in difficult moments.

May God rise again prayer translation into Russian

As smoke disappears, so let them disappear; and as wax melts from the fire, so let the demons perish before those who love God and are marked by the sign of the cross and exclaim in joy: Rejoice, Most Honored and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, driving away demons by the power of our crucified Lord Jesus Christ on you, Who descended into hell and destroyed the power of the devil and gave us You, Your Honest Cross, to drive away every enemy. Oh, Most Revered and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, help me with the Holy Lady the Virgin Mary and with all the saints in all ages. Amen.

Protect me, Lord, by the power of Your Honest and Life-giving Cross, and save me from all evil.

Fence- garden, protect.

Translation: Protect me, Lord, by the power of Your Honest (Honorable) and Life-giving Cross, and save me from all evil.
