Ways to check your credit history on the Internet for free - where to look, registration and subject code. How to find out your credit history online

Checking your personal file on financial transactions will help assess your chances of approval of loans and credits. You can find out this data in special bureaus, banks or online verification services. Other users besides its owner have access to the dossier.

What is credit history

This is a detailed dossier on the borrower, containing all the information about his relations with creditors (banks, microfinance organizations, telephone companies, etc.). Since 2005, it has been the main document confirming the solvency and financial responsibility of a person. Regulated by Federal Law of 2004 N 218-FZ “On Credit Histories”.

The document allows you to find out the so-called personal scoring - the financial rating of the payer.

  1. Title: Full name borrower, date and place of birth, passport or other identification document details, TIN, SNILS.
  2. Basic: information about the place of registration and residence, registration as an individual entrepreneur, possible incapacity, bankruptcy, dates of taking out and types of loans, amounts, interest rates, payments, repayment terms, presence of arrears, debts, legal disputes, pledges and guarantors, collections .
  3. Additional (closed): information about the creditor - a legal entity, information about CI requests from legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.
  4. Informational: information about all loan applications, approvals or refusals.

Such information is available for all citizens who have a passport and registration. Each individual has his own PIN code, which is the code of the CI subject. Using its number, the owner can quickly find out in which bureau his file is located. The ID is assigned to citizens upon their first loan. In its absence, it is created by the financial institution only with the consent of the future owner.

The CI code can be found from several sources:

  • agreement with the creditor;
  • the bank where the money was issued;
  • another bank (paid service);
  • National Bureau of Credit History (NBKI);
  • any available credit history bureau (BKI).

If the code is unknown, it may be difficult to find out where information about personal financial transactions is stored. In other cases, the owner is unlikely to need it. When borrowing a loan, the banking service itself will make inquiries.

To whom is it provided?

CI is provided in the form of reports. Full form, consisting of 4 parts, can be received upon application by any citizen. In addition to him, other organizations can find out the contents of the dossier - subject to the owner’s consent to give access to the main part:

  • banks - to make a decision on lending to the applicant based on solvency and past loan experience;
  • Insurance companies– to identify violations that indicate imprudence, forgetfulness, or dishonesty of the client, which increases the likelihood of an insured event;
  • employers - in order to determine the level of responsibility of the employee (especially in the field of finance);
  • notaries - to find out about the purity of the transaction;
  • law enforcement agencies, courts - to resolve issues in criminal cases.

Where to look for your CI

This information is stored for fifteen years by the Credit Bureau. From the time changes are made to the citizen’s dossier, a new 15-year period begins. There are about 15-20 such bureaus (their number is constantly changing). All of them are registered in the state register of the Central Catalog of Credit Histories (CCCH). This special unit Central Bank, collecting information about borrowers. It was created as part of state supervision over the activities of BKI with the aim of general systematization of information about these institutions (not the dossiers themselves).

You can find out which bureau stores information about the payer on the Central Bank website or by contacting the Central Control Commission. To do this, you will need a CI subject code. Loans are firmly established in life modern man. However, in some cases, when applying for a loan from a financial institution, a citizen receives a negative answer. In this case, the bank has the right to refuse to explain the reasons for the refusal. Among the most common, three can be identified:

  • the potential borrower does not have enough high level income;
  • the citizen has a bad credit history;
  • The bank itself has temporary restrictions on work under the selected credit program.

Whatever the reason, the problem can always be solved. However, in order to avoid possible misunderstandings between a potential borrower and financial institutions, it is better to first familiarize yourself with the data contained in the citizen’s credit history.

Why is it necessary to check your credit history?

It may happen that as a result of erroneous actions of bank employees or a failure software appeared in the citizen’s credit history negative information(however, it may not correspond to reality).

In order to promptly identify the presence of such facts and try to correct them, you should periodically check your credit history. It should be borne in mind that once a year any citizen can obtain a credit report absolutely free of charge.

Currently, the list of the largest bank accounts in Russia, which store more than 80% of all credit histories of Russians, is as follows:

  • National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBKI). Most Russian banks transmit information to this bureau.
  • Equifax. Just like NBCI, it is the most popular bureau in the country.
  • United Credit Bureau (UCB). This is a subsidiary bureau of Sberbank and therefore if you need to check your credit history specifically for Sberbank loans, it is better to contact this bureau first.
  • BKI "Russian Standard". Subsidiary bureau of Russian Standard Bank. All information on Russian Standard loans can be guaranteed to be checked in this BKI. For loans from some other banks, information may not be available.

To do this, you will need to go to the central directory of the credit history bureau, which can be done through the website of the Central Bank. Conclusion

Many also ask and search on the Internet how they can check their credit history by last name. The answer here is simple - it is impossible to check your credit history using your last name alone. Access to the borrower's credit history information is possible only with passport data and proof of identity.

Experts recommend periodically checking your credit score at least once a year. In this case, if inconsistencies are detected, it is possible to correct the data in a timely manner. If you need a loan for a significant amount, but there is simply no credit history, it is advisable to first create a positive history, and only after that apply to a financial institution for a loan.

Once a year, the borrower has the right to request his credit history (CI) free of charge. However, if you study existing methods receiving the report, it turns out that it’s difficult to do this without any money, but it’s still possible and Sravni.ru will tell you how.

Experts advise checking your credit history 1-2 times a year. Firstly, the approval of loans in the future and the interest rate on them depend on its quality. If the bank gets something wrong, this may become an obstacle to obtaining a new loan when needed.

When a borrower applies for a loan, the bank sends a request to the credit bureau. This is necessary to find out whether the client has been late on past loans, and also to assess his current debt load.

Secondly, this allows you to track whether some fraudster has issued a loan in your name, and this happens.

Before applying for credit information, you need to find out which credit history bureaus (BCBs) store it. The fact is that today there are 21 BKIs in Russia. And the bank could send it to any of them or even several at once. And if the question arises about checking your history, then you need to check the information in all bureaus (it may vary, since different banks cooperate with different bank accounts).

How can a borrower find out where his CI is stored?

You can find out which bureaus collected information on the borrower only through the Central Catalog of Credit Histories (CCCH). If the borrower knows his credit history subject code, then he can do this from the Bank of Russia.

The credit history subject code is a set of alphabetic and numeric characters created by the borrower at the time of applying for the loan. It serves as a PIN code for online access to the TsKKI database.

If the code was not generated or the borrower forgot it, then get necessary information It won't work over the Internet anymore. You will have to personally go with your passport to a bank, any credit history bureau, post office, microfinance organization, credit cooperative or to a notary and through them send a request to the Central Bank.

The Central Bank does not provide borrowers with the credit history itself, it only provides a list of bank accounts in which it is stored.

By the way, when contacting a bank or credit history bureau, the borrower can create new code subject of the credit history for their future inquiries. But institutions can provide this service either free or for a fee.

What methods of obtaining CI are there?

Once a year, the borrower has the right to obtain his credit history free of charge. The question immediately arises: what if the information is stored in several bureaus? “Each bureau will provide one credit report free of charge,” Equifax BKI commented to Sravni.ru.

You can get your report from each bureau in several ways:

  • send a request by mail, but the application must be certified by a notary;
  • send a request by telegram;
  • through online services of the bureau’s partners;
  • contact the office of an organization that cooperates with the bureau (a list of them can be found on the bureau’s website);
  • personally contact the BKI office with your passport.

But most of these methods can only be called free conditionally. Certification of a signature by a notary in Moscow costs 900 rubles, and you will also have to pay for sending a telegram (281 rubles for the inscription “certified by a telecom operator” and 2.8 rubles for each word).

Bureau partners will charge a fee for intermediary services - approximately 400 rubles. All that remains is to go to the bureau in person. The disadvantage of this approach is that BKIs work only on weekdays from 9:00-10:00 to 17:00-18:00, so you will have to take time off from work.

Why is it so difficult to get your credit history for free?

As Equifax notes, the current methods of obtaining a credit report actually act as a barrier, especially for citizens living outside Moscow and the Moscow region. “We had requests from citizens who also considered transportation costs for trips to the bureau,” the bureau says. – Even if you want, it’s impossible to go around all the BKIs, because... many of them are in different cities. The largest BKIs are concentrated in Moscow, and for the regions the method of submitting an application to the BKI is also difficult to access.”

But from a safety point of view, the difficulty of obtaining a CI is justified. As experts explain, information from a credit history should be available only to its subject, therefore, when requesting a credit report, identification of the subject of the credit history is required. “Otherwise, anyone could have access to the information of the subject of the credit history: spouse, matchmaker, brother, parents, scammers - anyone who has personal data of the subject of the credit history,” BKI emphasizes.

Obtaining a credit history in practice

Step 1. Find out which bureaus store your credit report. I did not have a credit history subject code. So the first thing I did was call the bank that issued my credit card (the only loan product I have ever applied for), where I was informed that such a request to the Central Control Commission, as well as the creation of the code, would cost 350 rubles. Since my goal was to find out my credit history absolutely free, I had to go look for another bank to send a request.

First of all, I decided to go to Promsvyazbank - I chose it only because it was closest to me - its office is located on the territory of the business center where I work. And I was immediately lucky - it was possible to send a request for free. The only thing was that I had to wait about 15 minutes until the branch employee found the application form itself - they are rarely asked for this service.

The bank employee took a copy of my passport and asked me to fill out a form that combined both the request to the Central Control Committee and an application to create a credit history subject code (in addition to the passport data, I also needed to indicate SNILS and INN).

The next time I want to receive information from the Central Control Committee, it will be easier for me to do this, now I have a credit history subject code, the main thing is not to forget it.

The bank accepted my application at approximately 15:00, the next day at the same time (that is, no more than a day passed) they called me from the bank and asked me to come for an answer (there was a slight hitch - the answer was supposed to be sent to the email that I indicated in the application, but for some reason he arrived at the bank office, it’s close to go - so it’s not that scary).

From the response to my request, I learned that my bank sends information about my credit “well-being” to three credit history bureaus - the National Bureau of Credit History (NBKI), Equifax Credit Services and the United Credit Bureau (UCB).

In principle, you could try to find out information about the bureau from your bank. But, firstly, the bank can, but is not obligated to, provide information about this. And, secondly, if the purpose of checking the CI is to find out whether some fraudster has issued a loan for you, then this method will not work; the attacker could have received borrowed money from another credit organization. So the best thing is to still get an official response from the Central Control Commission.

Step 2. Go to the BKI website. And once again we study information about services for private clients.

The website should describe in detail all methods of obtaining CI. Perhaps there will be another free option on this list, besides a personal visit. In my case, Equifax was pleased with this. He has a special online service, but to use it, you again need to identify yourself. The process is not the easiest, but it saves time on the road.

How can I get a free report through the Equifax online service?

To access my CI online, I needed to register on the resource. To do this, I indicated my full name, passport details and email. Next is the process of my identification. There were 4 ways to get through it:

  1. send a telegram (again, paid, so I didn’t consider this option);
  2. come to the bureau office in person (but then you can immediately receive the report in person, so I didn’t consider this option either);
  3. confirm your identity at the office of the Contact payment system (the service is paid - 180 rubles, so I did not consider this option);
  4. use the free eID service (it generates questions for the borrower based on his credit history).

The only suitable option for me was eID. I chose it and the service generated five questions. Among them:

  • Which of the suggested values is closest to the credit limit approved for your card?
  • Which range best matches your current card debt?
  • what date is closest to the date of full repayment of the car loan at bank N (a trick question, since there was no car loan at bank N)?

Each question had several answer options, but none of them indicated exact numbers - only an approximate range. The user has only three attempts to answer all questions correctly. If you do not pass the test successfully, you will have to go to the office in person. I succeeded just the third time (the fact is that the bank does not send information to the bureau instantly, but with some delay, so if today the debt on the card is, for example, 10 thousand rubles, and a few weeks ago it was 15 thousand. rubles, then in the answers you need to choose a range closer to 15 thousand rubles, it was on such “mistakes” that I got burned).

Time for answers is limited to 10 minutes. After a successful attempt, it was necessary to print out the consent to the processing of personal data, sign it and make a scan, and also send a scanned copy of the passport (in your personal account you can attach files). Further, the service informed about the need for verification, which may take several days. But in fact, I received access to ordering my first free credit report an hour later.

The report was sent by email as a link to a PDF file.

Step 3. If there are still no other ways to obtain a free report, then look on the BKI website for contacts and a schedule for receiving citizens. The central office of the BKI and the office where an individual can get a credit history are not always the same place. So, you need to be careful. For example, the main one is located in the center of Moscow - st. Bolshaya Nikitskaya, house 24/1, building 5, entrance 3, and the borrower reception office is located near the Vladykino metro station at the address: Novovladykinsky pr., 8, building 4, entrance 1.

Step 4. Go to the bureau office, not forgetting to take your passport with you. The journey from work to the NBKI office took me about an hour. The receiving process itself takes less than five minutes. It was enough to show your passport and fill out an application. While I was filling out the necessary fields on the form, a bureau employee found me in the database and printed out a credit report.

That's all. It remains to visit the next bureau according to the same scheme. You can get a credit history absolutely free of charge at the address: Moscow, 2nd Kazachy Lane, 11, building 1.

In total, the process of obtaining a list of all the bureaus where my credit history is stored, and the requests themselves took three days. I wonder if I had chosen more convenient ways obtaining a CI, the duration of the process would still not be reduced. When contacting BKI in person, the report is provided to the borrower immediately, and if through other channels, then within three days. The whole question is about convenience and time available for travel.

Having received your credit report, you need to carefully study it to see if there is any error, typo or extra credit. If an error is discovered, you can consult with a BKI employee on the spot about ways to correct the incorrect information. There are two options: write an application to the bureau, then the BKI will contact the source of the incorrect information and ask to double-check it, or the borrower can directly contact the bank or microfinance organization that sent the erroneous information. If the mistake is confirmed, the story will be corrected. Most likely, the application will need to be accompanied by documents confirming the inaccuracy, for example, receipts for paying the loan on time. Therefore, it is very important to store such papers.

Credit history is information about how many loans a citizen has and how conscientiously he repays the money.

Bank specialists use this data to decide whether to issue a loan to a client and on what terms. A good credit history gives you the right to qualify for a lower interest rate on the loan, since the bank assumes that you will pay off on time. If you have a bad financial record, your loan may not be approved.

Why do you need a credit history check?

Knowing your credit history is useful in three cases:

  1. You are about to take out a loan and want to assess your chances of getting it.
  2. You are denied a loan or for unknown reasons, and you suspect that the problem is in your credit history.
  3. You are afraid that scammers may have taken out a loan in your name.

Find out which credit bureau maintains your financial file

Information about borrowers is stored in credit history bureaus, a complete list of which is on the Central Bank website. Credit institutions cooperate with different bureaus, so information about you may appear in any of them or even in several. To find out where exactly, send a request to the Central Catalog of Credit Histories of the Central Bank in one of the following ways:

  1. Through any bank or microfinance organization during a personal visit (take it with you).
  2. Through any credit history bureau during a personal visit.
  3. , certified by a postal employee and sent to the address 107016, Moscow, st. Neglinnaya, 12, TsKKI. It must contain the last name, first name, patronymic, full passport data, email address to which the requested information will be sent (the @ symbol in the address is replaced by (a), the “_” sign is recommended to be written with the words “underscore”).
  4. Through a notary.
  5. On the website of the Central Bank. To do this, you will need a credit history subject code. You should have come up with a special combination of alphabetic and numeric characters to access the online database of the Central Catalog of Credit Histories at the time of applying for the loan.
  6. Through “State Services” they promise to send the data within 24 hours, but in reality the answer to the request may arrive in a few minutes.

Personal data will be entered automatically. If not, enter them manually.

Soon you will have access to a document that you can download or send by email.

It lists the organizations where your credit history is stored.

If for some reason the credit history subject code was not generated (for example, you received your last loan before 2006, when such identifiers did not yet exist) or you have forgotten it, contact any bank. To receive an identification code, you only need your passport. The second option is a visit to any credit history bureau.

If you don't have the code, contact your bank or credit bureau. This way, you will immediately receive information about where your financial file is stored and a code that will be useful to you in the future for similar operations.

Send a request to the credit bureaus

If your credit history is stored in several bureaus, you will have to contact each one. Twice a year you can obtain information free of charge in each of the BKIs. For the third and subsequent requests you will need to pay an average of 300–500 rubles. There are several ways to apply for a credit history:

  1. During a personal visit to the office of the bureau or its regional partners.
  2. Send to the postal address of the bureau, which must be certified by a postal employee.
  3. Send a request by letter. In this case, the applicant’s personal signature must be certified by a notary.
  4. Submit an online request if the credit bureau provides this option. Thus, Equifax Credit Services LLC has a “Credit History Online” service. You can submit an application to the Eastern European Credit History Bureau on the official website.
  5. Order a credit report online through your bank, if it provides such a service. However, organizations can only cooperate with selected credit bureaus. You can get a credit history at Sberbank, B&N Bank, Tinkoff Bank and others. You will have to pay for mediation.
  6. Use the services of commercial history assessment services: “My Rating”, and similar ones. For a fee, they will not only collect your financial file, but also create a credit score based on it. It shows the customer’s level of creditworthiness and predicts the chances of receiving a loan.
  7. On the BKI website using your State Services account. This feature is now available from most organizations that store credit histories.

For example, on the website of Equifax Credit Services LLC, you first need to register in the standard way, indicate personal data, confirm your email and phone number. After this, it will become possible to obtain a credit history using your State Services account.

In a few minutes, your credit history will be available for download.

Each borrower has the right to request their credit history (CI) once a year without paying for services. However, the available methods for obtaining a dossier still require the payment of a certain amount. It’s not so easy to do this for free, but it’s still possible, assures the website Sravni.ru.

The importance of checking your credit history

Credit history should be checked at least once a year, since the quality of the financial file affects the decision to grant new loans and the interest rate. An error in the CI can result in an obstacle to the approval of the next loan.

To reduce the risk of non-repayment, any bank, before considering an application, sends a request to the credit history bureau (CBI) to assess the current debt load of the potential borrower and verify his financial integrity.

Checking the CI by the subject himself allows you to make sure that fraudsters did not use his personal data to obtain a loan. Sometimes this happens.

Before requesting KI, you need to find out in which BKI it is stored. Today there are 21 bureaus in Russia. The credit institution could submit information about the borrower to any bureau or even several. To make sure your history is clean, it is better to check the information in all bank accounts (it may differ, because banks have cooperation agreements with different bureaus).

How to find out where your credit history is stored?

You can find out which BKI stores the necessary information only through the Central Catalog of Credit Histories (CCKI). Knowing the code of the subject of the credit history allows you to do this online on the Central Bank website.

The credit history subject code is a set of letters and numbers named by the borrower when applying for a loan. It serves as a PIN code to access the TsKKI database.

If the borrower has forgotten the code or it has not been generated, you will have to go with your passport to any credit institution, credit history bureau, post office or notary and through them submit a request to the Bank of Russia. The Central Bank itself does not provide credit histories, but has complete information about the bureaus in which it is stored. When contacting a bank or BKI, the borrower has the opportunity to create a new code for future requests for a credit file. But you may have to pay for this service.

How can I get CI?

The borrower has the right to receive a free credit history once a year, from each bureau in which it is stored.

To receive your report, you can use one of the following options:

  • send a notarized application by mail;
  • send a request by telegram;
  • through the Internet services of BKI partners;
  • through the office of an organization cooperating with the bureau (the list of partners is available on the BKI website);
  • Contact the BKI office in person (with your passport).

Most of the proposed options cannot be called free. The services of a capital notary will cost 900 rubles; telegram certified by the operator - 281 rubles. plus 2.8 rub. for every word; BKI partners will have to pay about 400 rubles for mediation. Those who want to save money should contact the office in person. Unfortunately, BKIs are only open on weekdays, so you will have to take time off from work.

Why is it difficult to get a CI for free?

BKI Equifax confirms the difficulty of obtaining CIs for free, especially for residents of the regions. Large bureaus are concentrated in Moscow, but they are also located in other cities; it is simply unrealistic to visit them all. In addition, for borrowers from the regions, the method of submitting applications to the BKI is difficult to access.

Experts believe that the difficulty of obtaining a credit history is justified. The information it contains is confidential and should only be accessible to its subject, so identification is required. Otherwise, anyone with someone else’s personal data could look into it.

Practical experience in obtaining a credit history

A journalist from Sravni.ru, who did not have a credit history code, shared own experience receive CI for free.

Step 1. Find out the names of the bank accounts in which the credit history is stored. The first thing she did was call the bank that issued the credit card. They said: a request from the Central Control Commission and the creation of a code will cost 350 rubles. But the client wanted to receive the CI without payment, so she went in search of another bank.

Promsvyazbank turned out to be the closest, where they said that you can send a request for free. The employee took a copy of the passport and offered to fill out a form, which, along with a request to the Central Control Commission, also contained an application for creating a code. In addition to passport data, it was necessary to indicate SNILS and TIN.

Next time it will be easier for her to receive information from the Central Control Commission, since now she has a code for the subject of the credit history.

The application was accepted at about 15:00, and the next day at about the same time the client received a call from the bank and was invited to come for an answer. Actually, the response should have been sent to the email specified in the application, but apparently there was some kind of hitch.

From the response of the CCCI, the citizen learned that her CI Bank was sending her to three bureaus: the National Bureau of Credit History (NBKI), Equifax Credit Services and the United Credit Bureau (UCB).

She could also obtain information about the bureau from her bank, but it is not obliged to inform her about this. In addition, the purpose of checking the CI is to find out whether some fraudster has “attached” a loan to it. Therefore, it is better to get an official response from the Central Control Commission database, because the attacker could have executed the agreement in another bank.

Step 2. Study the information on the BKI website about services for individuals. The address of the BKI website of interest can be found on the Internet or in the State Register of Credit History Bureaus on the Bank of Russia website.

The Internet resource should describe ways to obtain a CI for private clients, among which, perhaps, in addition to a personal visit, there is another option for obtaining a dossier for free. A particular client was pleased with Equifax, which has a special online service. Identification is required to use it. The process is not simple, but it saves time on traveling to the office.

To gain access to your dossier online, you must register on the Equifax website. You must provide your full name, passport details, email, and then go through identification. This can be done in 4 ways:

  • send a telegram (paid);
  • visit the office in person (you can immediately receive a report);
  • confirm your identity at the office electronic system Contact payments (service cost – 180 rubles);
  • through free service eID (generates questions based on the borrower's credit history).

The journalist chose the eID option, after which the service compiled five questions, including:

  • Which value is closer to the limit approved for your card?
  • Which range is more consistent with your current card debt?
  • Which date is closest to the repayment date of the car loan at Bank N?

The last question was a tricky one, since the client did not apply for a car loan. Each question was accompanied by several answer options with an approximate range. The user is given 3 attempts; if the test fails, he will have to go to the office in person.

The client was able to answer only the third time due to “mistakes.” The fact is that the bank sends information to the BKI with a delay. For example, if today’s debt is 10 thousand, and 2-3 weeks ago it was 15 thousand, then in the answers the range should be chosen closer to 15.

Time to answer – 10 minutes. After passing the test, you need to print out the consent to the processing of personal data, sign it and take a scan. A scanned copy of your passport is also required (your personal account has a function for attaching files). After this, the applicant receives a message about the need to verify his data, which may take several days. However, the online service user gained access to her CI an hour later.

Step 3. If there are no other ways to receive a report for free, then you should look for contacts and a reception schedule on the BKI website. The main office and the BKI office, where you can get CI, are not always the same thing. For example, NBKI - the central office is located in Moscow at Bolshaya Nikitskaya, 24, and the reception office for individuals is at Novovladykinsky Prospekt, 8 (near the Vladykino metro station).

Step 4. Visit the bureau office (with a passport). It took the Sravni.ru employee less than 5 minutes to get her story. While she was filling out the application form, an NBKI employee printed out a credit report from the database.

She visited the OKB, located at 2nd Kazachy Lane, 11, in the same way.

It took the journalist 3 days to receive the BKI list and credit history inquiries. It is noteworthy that if she had chosen other ways to access her credit history, the process would have taken no less time. When applying in person, the bureau provides a report immediately, and through intermediaries – within 3 days. The question comes down to the availability of time for travel and convenience.

When you receive a credit report, you should review it carefully. If an error or typo is discovered, you can consult directly on the spot about the possibility of correcting the inaccuracies. There are two options: submit an application to the BKI, which will contact the source of the erroneous information and ask to double-check, or directly contact the credit institution that sent the incorrect information to the bureau. When an error is confirmed – . The application may need to be accompanied by documents confirming the inaccuracy (for example, a receipt for repaying the loan on time). Therefore, it is important to save such papers.
