2. Nail polish.
3. Polymer glue or Moment.

8. Glycerin (can be bought for about 8 rubles at absolutely any pharmacy).
9. Purified water (distilled or purified with a home water filter).

How to make a snow globe with your own hands.

Using scissors, cut the white tinsel very finely, cut as finely as possible, since even the smallest particles will visually appear large in water.

Paint the lid of the jar with a matching nail polish color. Also pay attention to the inner walls of the lid, since more often than not the product will be in an upside-down state, which means that possible unadorned places will be evident.

After the varnish on the lid has hardened, glue the selected figure to the inside of it. We used a figurine of the Moscow Kremlin, it’s just a pity that the inscription on it is in English, but apparently in Moscow such products are purchased more often by foreign tourists than by our compatriots, since literally all the souvenirs are full of English-language engravings.

You can place Kinder Surprise figures, small figurines or small children's toys inside your snow globe. We recommend stopping by the gift shop and purchasing a tiny plastic Christmas tree or snowman. If you don’t want to look around the city for a souvenir shop, visit any hypermarket; they usually have departments with similar trinkets.

Try to select small figures. Glass with water will act as a magnifying glass, so a large composition will appear bloated and dimensionless.

Well, now we come to the most interesting moment. Pour half a teaspoon of previously chopped white tinsel or prepared artificial snow into the jar. Mix it with a teaspoon and see how our snowflakes “come to life”. Do not add a lot of snow, otherwise the composition itself will not be visible behind the snowfall.

Add 1/3 teaspoon of white and silver glitter here. Mix everything thoroughly. Here I would like to say that the point with sparkles can, in principle, be completely skipped; snow alone will be enough.

We close the jar with a lid on which the figurine is attached. Scroll the lid with special care so that the liquid does not leak out. Ideally, the lid should be treated with a layer of glue on the inside, and only then screwed on.

Finally, the neck of the jar can be decorated with rhinestones, tied with a ribbon with a bow, or made from polymer clay spectacular stand. We decided to leave our snow globe with an open lid and neck; we didn’t want to burden the composition with unnecessary details.

Before you pick up your snow globe, wipe it with a napkin to remove any marks left during the creation process. Now shake our snow globe and admire the snowfall, as well as the playful shimmer of white and silver glitter.

To create it we will need:

• A nice little jar with a tight-fitting lid.
• Items you want to load into the jar.
• Artificial snow, which you can also make with your own hands.
• White paraffin candle.
• Glitter.
• Waterproof or silicone glue.
• Distilled or boiled water.
• Glycerol.

First of all, we prepare the scene that will be inside the jar. To do this, we place and glue all objects onto the inner side covers. If the figures need to be immersed in snowdrifts, apply glue to the lid and sprinkle with artificial snow. You can replace it with a white paraffin candle.

To do this, cool the candle in the refrigerator and rub it on a fine grater, then sprinkle it onto the glue in a thick layer and press it firmly. This way you can do required quantity layers and get the intended result. And if the paraffin is heated to a soft state, then you can immediately make the necessary snowdrifts, cool them and glue them to the inside of the lid along with other objects.

Silicone glue takes a long time to dry, so in order for the snow globe craft to turn out high-quality and durable, you should be patient and allow the glue to dry completely.

While our composition is drying, we prepare a jar for the snow globe. We wipe it with alcohol. This is done so that the water does not become cloudy over time, but remains clear.

Then in a separate container we dilute warm water and glycerin. The more glycerin, the thicker the solution will be and the slower the snowflakes will fall. If you want snowflakes to fall very slowly, use glycerin without water. Pour the resulting mixture into the jar, but not to the brim.

It should be taken into account that the composition on the lid will also need space in the jar and excess liquid will flow over the edges.

After glycerin and water have been poured into the jar, add artificial snow and glitter into it. Try throwing a few snowflakes at first and see how they sink to the bottom. If they fall too slowly, add a little water. If too fast, add glycerin. Artificial snow for a snow globe can be replaced with white sand or finely grated paraffin. Glitter can be purchased at the “Everything for Nails” or “Everything for Creativity” store. White sand is sold at pet stores, in the fish section.

Try not to add too much glitter or snow, as the water may appear cloudy when flipping and the snow globe will be ruined.

Once the glitter and fake snow are added to the jar, the big moment comes. You need to check that all the figures are well glued to the lid and only then immerse them in the solution. Excess liquid will begin to spill over the edges, so we advise you to substitute a saucer. If, after you have lowered the lid with the figures into the solution, there is still free space in the jar, add more solution. It is better to do this yourself with a syringe.

Now that everything is ready, carefully wipe it off excess liquid from the thread of the can and apply glue to it. Then screw the lid tightly. Do not immediately turn the container over. Wait for the glue to dry under the lid. When everything is dry, you can see what happened.

If there are any air bubbles left in the jar, try removing them with a syringe. You can also add liquid with a syringe if there is not enough liquid. If water leaks from under the lid, you need to turn the jar over, wipe it dry and coat it again with glue, then let it dry.

Your snow globe is almost ready, all that remains is to decorate the lid beautifully. To do this, you can use multi-colored foil, openwork ribbons or beads. You can also cover the lid with polymer clay and paint it acrylic paints. This will be the final part of the work. Now you know how to make a snow globe at home. • Jar with screw cap. Ideally, the lid should be screwed on tightly. If you take a jar and a lid from ready-made canned food, do not count on it being sealed. I took a jar of compote, so I had to strengthen and seal the threads to prevent leakage.
• Decorations. Christmas tree decorations are well suited for this role. Houses and Christmas trees look especially good with snow on top. I didn’t take this moment into account right away, so I had to take a lot of shots so that Grandfather Frost’s face wouldn’t be hidden in the snow.
• Glue. Glue is needed to glue the decoration to the lid. Many people praise the glue gun, but I didn’t want to buy one specifically for the snow globe. I made do with a tube of super glue.
• Imitation of snow. This could be fake snow, glitter, or even crushed glassware. white plastic. I bought regular silver glitter, but in the process I realized that they didn’t fit color scheme to our ball. Artificial snow in small town it’s not so easy to find, so I had to limit myself to homemade “snow” from plastic packaging from toys.

• Glycerol. It is needed so that the “snow” falls slowly. This occurs due to an increase in the viscosity of water. The amount of glycerin depends on the type of “snow” chosen. Large “snowflakes” will require more glycerin. I have a 400 ml jar. It took 4 bottles of glycerin, 25 grams each. With a 1:1 ratio of water and glycerin, snowflakes will float in the water almost without sinking to the bottom.
• Water. If you decide to make a ball for long-term storage or as a gift, then you will need distilled water and some kind of disinfectant for jewelry. There is no guarantee that the jewelry is sterile and that its germs will not cause cloudiness in the water. For a ball that is not planned to be stored for a long time, any clean clear water. I used tap water. The first time I was unlucky, there was a whitish sediment in the jar, which spoiled appearance. For the second time, I used pre-settled water.
• Rubber medical gloves . They are needed if you are not sure about the tightness of the lid. Gloves are convenient to use as a sealant for threads.

If you don’t have glycerin on hand, but you want to start the creative process right now, you can replace it with refined vegetable oil or very sweet clear syrup. But remember, no matter what product you choose, in any case it will go bad in a few months. This also applies to glycerin.

It is believed that the smaller the snow globe and the more interesting its shape, the prettier it looks. Whether to follow this rule or not is your personal choice, but do not use jars larger than 1 liter for this craft.

• water (either filtered, boiled, or distilled. If you take plain water from the tap, then over time your snow globe will become cloudy),
• glue gun

If you decorate a jar or make a decorative stand, like me, additionally prepare:

• satin ribbons, decorative branches, flowers, etc. for decorating a jar,
• cardboard (but not hard),
• scotch,
• scissors,
• self-adhesive film – gold,
• PVA glue,
• dry glitter - gold,
• thin brush,
• Well, and, already listed, a hot glue gun.

So let's get started!

Wash the jar, lid, figurine and all additional decorations well so that the water does not become cloudy over time. I treated everything with boiling water, as for preservation.

We fasten everything decorative elements to the lid with hot glue.

I have already used tinsel, sparkles and beads to imitate snow.

I'll tell you how to make a snow globe with sparkles, as there are some subtleties here. There are no such problems with tinsel and beads.

We take a clean jar, in my case a half-liter, and fill it with 150-250 ml of glycerin.

Fill the rest with water (we don’t fill the jar to the brim, because we still have a figurine that will fit in there, which will displace a certain amount of water).

Add glitter and mix with a clean spoon.

Even if the sparkles are large, there are particles that did not settle to the bottom of the jar. We must definitely collect them, otherwise they will subsequently always float on top, and this, frankly speaking, does not look very good. This can be done with a small spoon or the tip of a clean waffle towel.

Now, very carefully, preferably over a plate, we immerse our composition in the jar, twist it a little so that there are no air bubbles anywhere. Screw the lid tightly. You need to try to close it so that there are no air bubbles left in the jar. Since we didn’t glue the lid inside, it can be remade if necessary.

When the cover is screwed on, you can walk along the joint from above for insurance. universal glue(if there is one, it can be waterproof). There have never been any problems with such jars, so the glue, in principle, only serves to secure the lid so that no one accidentally opens it.

Our snow globe is ready! Let's decorate it a little to hide all traces of the lid and jar.

You can make a durable stand from several strips of cardboard and cover it with gold self-adhesive film. The diameter is equal to the diameter of the cap. We decorate with all kinds of ribbons, twigs, it all depends on your desire and imagination!

I added a little sparkle curls and used them to hide the carvings on the bottom of the jar and all sorts of unnecessary numbers. To do this, dilute 1:1 water and PVA glue, generously add dry glitter to this mixture. I painted the curls with a regular thin brush.
