The Fontmania app has been featured as a "Best New App" in the App Store in 36 countries! I think the name of the program speaks for itself. This application allows you to add original fonts to your photos.

Honestly, I have been hunting for a normal application that supports the Cyrillic alphabet for several years now. There are a lot of cool applications with fonts in the App Store, but they either don’t have Russian fonts at all, or the cat cried them out - a couple of them at most. So, "Friftomania" is the only application that I was able to find with beautiful Russian fonts, so I highly recommend it!

Well friends, these were my 10 favorite photo editing apps on my phone. If you like any other applications that I did not mention in the article, write about them in the comments.

———————

Since I wrote this article, I've received emails from blog readers who would like to add a few more of their favorite apps to this list. Which I will, of course, be happy to do! 🙂

Price: free

I think that the Prisma application, popular among Instagrammers, does not need any special introduction 😉 With its help, you can make your photos more vibrant by adding artistic filters and photo effects to them (see photo below).

Slow Shutter Cam

Price: 149 rub.

Well, the last application for today is Slow Sutter Cam, which has been recognized more than once as the best in its category. With this application you can shoot directly from your phone at long exposures. For those who are not very versed in the language of photography, screenshots of the final result, which can be achieved thanks to a long shutter speed, will be helpful. So if you want similar effects, then you definitely can’t do without this program!

I wish you only great photos and more subscribers on Instagram! 😉

The Android operating system is famous for its openness. This allows developers to create applications not only with their own interface, but also with ones borrowed from other products. For example, the camera on the iPhone for Android is very popular.

Google, whenever possible, excludes from its online store applications whose interface is borrowed from iOS. But some products cannot be made special claims. For example, there are camera apps with iPhone effects. They perform very useful function- with their help you can easily adapt to a new smartphone if a person previously had an Apple device. In this article we will look at best programs of this kind, which can still be found on Google Play.

As the app's name suggests, it's an iPhone-style camera. There is a familiar interface here. Only the three lower function keys remind you of Android, helping you return to the desktop. Otherwise, this is a typical camera, which is endowed with the ninth version of the iOS operating system.

The utility was created by developers from Night Shift Pro. This is not to say that the program is widely popular. No, as of May 2016, less than 10 thousand people have installed it. However, one cannot help but notice that the developers do not abandon their brainchild, updating it regularly. For example, new effects have recently been added to the application. And last fall the design changed, in accordance with all the changes that occurred with iOS.

The functionality of the camera depends on the smartphone you have. In any case, you will get the opportunity to shoot video. Here you can also create a square photo, thereby adapting it to Instagram. The captured frame moves to the lower left corner. If you click on it, you will begin editing it. In particular, you can apply one of the eight proposed filters to your photo.

Advantages:

  • Availability of eight filters;
  • Ability to turn on the flash (if available);
  • Quick cropping for Instagram;
  • The interface is exactly the same as on iOS 9;
  • Availability of self-timer (1, 5 and 10 seconds);
  • Distributed free of charge;
  • Works even on old and budget smartphones.

Flaws:

  • There could be more filters;
  • Some devices are experiencing problems.

Price: Free

This application operates on devices with operating system Android system 4.0 or its latest version. The number of GEAK Camera installations has long exceeded 1 million. People like the fact that the program can apply filters in real time. This is the main difference between this utility and the official Camera application, which is equipped with Apple smartphones.

It is impossible to find fault with the interface available here. It almost exactly replicates what the camera app looks like on iOS. At the same time, the utility weighs only 1 MB, due to which it is not difficult to download it even through mobile traffic. The program allows you to take photos and shoot videos, the resolution of which may vary depending on the characteristics of the smartphone. As for the pictures, you can crop them here, turning them into square photos that are required for Instagram.

The developers promise regular updates to their creation, which will bring new functionality. However, GEAK Camera was last updated in November 2015, which is a bit sad. We can only be glad that the existing functionality is enough for most users.

Separately, it should be noted that the application is intended only for shooting with the rear camera. For unknown reasons, the picture from the front camera turns out to be soapy and of poor quality, as if the sensor resolution has decreased to 0.3 megapixels. I would like to fix this bug in the future, but I can't hope for it.

Advantages:

  • Filters in real time;
  • The interface is similar to that used in iOS 9;
  • Possibility of cropping for Instagram;
  • Distributed free of charge;
  • Possibility of video recording;
  • Very fast startup.

Flaws:

  • ABOUT front camera will have to forget;
  • There could be more filters;
  • Expansion of functionality is not expected.

iCamera OS9 style

Another opportunity to download a camera like an iPhone. The application differs from its other competitors in supporting high resolution. This means that it will look good even on flagship smartphones, the screen resolution of which reaches incredible values. The program is also distinguished by regular updates - the developers try to implement into it all the “chips” that the corresponding application receives, pre-installed on Apple smartphones. In particular, filters from iOS 9.3 were recently introduced into this utility.

The functionality of iCamera OS9 style cannot be called very wide, but everything you need is present here. For example, the self-timer is not forgotten ( valid values- 3, 5 and 10 seconds). The flash is also available to the user, if there is one on the back panel of the device. The pictures have minimal compression, due to which their quality hardly suffers. It is impossible not to mention video shooting - it only takes one button press to start this process.

The app allows you to turn off the shutter sound, so you can shoot completely unnoticed. If necessary, it’s easy to make a photo square, so you can immediately post it on Instagram. In a word, the developers did a great job. It is a pity that so far only 5,000 people have enjoyed this application.

Advantages:

  • Distributed free of charge;
  • Framing for Instagram;
  • The interface is the same as on iOS 9.3;
  • Possibility of video recording;
  • Ability to use a flash (if available);
  • Regular updates.

Flaws:

  • Insufficient number of effects - there are more on the iPhone;
  • Problems working on some devices.

Grade: 8/10

Summing up

That's the three best apps-cameras on Android, the interface of which resembles iOS. Unfortunately, these utilities are not able to provide any wide functionality. But only Apple should be blamed for this, because this company itself simplifies everything. In our selection, only two applications seriously stand out - these are iCamera OS9 style And Camera Style OS9. However, this does not mean that we recommend them. It is better to try something new and get much more opportunities from it.

The iPhone's pre-installed photo and video app looks like a very... simple thing, is actually just a convenient dump for sorting your selfies and other photo frames.

But underneath the app's minimalist appearance lies a surprisingly wide variety of features and capabilities, from using Instagram-like filters to automatically classifying photos into "Memories" based on when and where you took them. frames.

These features and techniques are obvious and intuitive to use, and you can easily find them by clicking "Edit" when viewing photos. Other useful and interesting features are a little harder to find. You will learn about them now.

How to make a GIF from a photo

It's scary to say, but Apple didn't actually allow images to be converted to GIFs until last year. Fortunately, these terrible days is over and you can easily make a GIF on your iPhone using Live Photos.

To do this you need to open the application Photo and choose Albums on the toolbar on the right bottom corner. Then find the album with Live Photo and select the photo you want to convert to GIF.

All you have to do is swipe up on the photo (but not too far). Then you will see a list of effects including Loop, Pendulum And Long exposure. Select Loop or Pendulum, and your image will automatically be saved in the Animated Images album.

The word “many” is not accidental here. Instagram only allows you to post videos that are longer than three seconds, so using the effect is an option Loop won't work but Pendulum usually works.

Twitter doesn't seem to be very fond of Live Photos though, so you'll have to use a separate app to post them there. For most platforms, you will not have any problems with publishing such “GIFs”.

How to Choose the Best Frame from a Live Photo

I hate it when a photo turns out completely differently than I wanted - because the bird flew away or the photo came out too blurry? But there is a way to salvage a bad photo by selecting the desired frame from those that were used to create the “live photo”.

It's simple. Open the image in the application Photo, press Change in the top right corner (or bottom if you're using the camera app), and you'll see a row of frames at the bottom that resembles the ones you see when you're exploring filmed video. These frames that make up Live Photo.

Use your finger to scroll through all the available frames and stop when you find an image you're happy with. Remove your finger and you will see the inscription Make the photo the main one above the frame you selected. Click on it and voila, that frame will now be the static image you see when you submit your “ live photo" By email or publish it on the Internet.

How to add notes to a photo

Taking photos is so easy these days that it's often easiest to snap a photo to celebrate important feature rather than describing it.

And this is where the ability to mark photos through the application comes in handy Photo.

Do you need to explain to your friends where you are waiting for them? Just take a photo, draw a circle around where you are, and add text to make it even easier to find you.

Here's how to do it. After shooting, open the application Photo(remember you can do this directly through the camera app?) and open the image you want to markup.

Click Change in the right top corner and then click the button Advanced Options(circle with three dots) on the right side of the bottom menu bar. After this you will see a button Marking.

When you click it, you'll see tools that simulate a pen, highlighter, pencil, or eraser, each available in six different colors, as well as a lasso tool that you can use to move your notes around.

You can also click on the sign Plus on right side bottom toolbar to add text, a signature, a magnifying glass, or (very helpfully) a giant arrow. One catch: this feature disables Live photos.

How to find the regular version of a photo with depth effect

Before iOS 11, you had the choice to save a photo with or without the depth effect, but unfortunately (for storage space), there is now no choice but to save both versions. The advantage, however, is that sometimes a non-portrait image comes out better and you can still access it if needed.

To get to it, open the photo that you would like to see without the depth effect, click the button Change in the upper right corner, after which you will see the inscription Portrait, highlighted in yellow, at the top. Click on it and the depth effect will disappear. After pressing the button Ready in the lower right corner, regular photo becomes the main one, that is, what you see when you scroll through the album.

How to name people in a photo for easy search

Application Photo It can recognize specific individuals quite well, but cannot name them unless you tell it to do so.

To name someone (and then easily find them using search tools, go to Albums in the lower right corner of the home screen, and then select an album People. You'll see that Apple has already grouped many photos based on the fact that they are the same person.

To assign a name to this person, click on a selection of his photos and then click the button Add name at the top of the menu. Then enter a name, click the button Next in the top right corner and you're done.

If you want to add additional photos this person, scroll down to the bottom of your photo collection and select Confirm added photos.

How to add people who are not recognized by Apple to the People album

Sometimes you see that Apple software can recognize a face in a photo, so they don't show up in the album People.

But this problem is easy to work around. Simply open the photo of the person you want to add and then swipe up in the middle of the photo. Scroll down a bit and you will see the title People. Click on the photo icon and then scroll down a little again to Add to album "People". Click on it, add a name and click the button Next. Ready! Now you will be able to see the person in your album.

How to turn a photo into wallpaper for Apple Watch

You probably know how to turn one of your photos into an iPhone wallpaper, but here's how to do the same for your Apple Watch.

Open the application Photo and find the photo you need. Select it and click on the familiar square with an arrow. In the action menu, find Create a watch face select the option you like best and click the button Add.

Today, when the photographic equipment market is filled with high-resolution megapixel cameras, people miss the heat-emitting, grainy and less-than-ideal images of the era of analog cameras and film. Nostalgia is part of human nature. When the iPhone became a cult favorite and one of the world's most popular camera smartphones, app developers didn't sit idly by and created a range of programs that let you transform photos as if they were taken 50 years ago. Processing your photos with these apps allows your photos to look like nostalgic memories the moment they are taken, while also giving off warmth and nostalgia. These applications put the iPhone on a par with the revolutionary Polaroid cameras that made it possible to take instant pictures, and the first Kodak Instamatic point-and-shoot cameras. It is also important that the best photo apps for iPhone cost almost nothing or are completely free.

Camera+

This app costs just 99 cents but offers an amazing range of effects and features such as exposure control, zoom, crop, miniaturize, image stabilization, high dynamic range(), vintage style, etc.

Instagram

The creators of the Instagram app were inspired by the Polaroid camera. This application is available for free download and creates beautiful frames, has various color filters and a function that allows you to share photos with friends on social networks or build a whole network of admirers of your photos. Instagram has a huge following and is one of the most successful iPhone photo apps.

Hipstamatic

According to the creators of Hipstamatic, this application brings back the look and feel of the unpredictable beauty and fun of photos taken with the help of point-and-shoot cameras that have sunk into oblivion. Priced at $1.99, it gives you the ability to change lenses, films, and flash settings with just the touch of a finger.

CameraBag

The CameraBag app adds retro effects to your photos, emulating the styles of old film cameras. It costs $1.99 and has many interesting filters such as 1974, infrared, fisheye, plastic, 1962, etc.

Pinhole Camera

Compared to other applications, Pinhole Camera's capabilities are small at first glance. For $0.99 you get three different films and the legendary faded-edge stenope blur. What's unique is what you can do with it. double exposure, and therefore create thoughtful and dreamy image overlay effects.

Retro Camera Plus

The Retro Camera Plus application works similarly to Hipstamatic, but unlike it, it is distributed free of charge. It features five cameras and five vintage vignetting kits, as well as cross-compilation of scratch effects to create analogue appearance images.

VintageScene

What sets this photo app apart from the rest is that it truly creates an antique look that dates back to the beginning of photography. While all of the above apps focus on the style of the 50s and 60s, VintageScene, which costs about two dollars, uniquely simulates old photos and is very popular among graphic artists, professional photographers and amateur photographers who want to high quality image transformation.

What applications do you use when shooting on your mobile phone?

Updated August 2018: New photo editing applications have been added and the descriptions of existing photo editors have been updated due to the introduction of new functions.

The App Store is simply teeming with a variety of applications for editing and publishing photos. In this article, I will review the best free photo editors for iPhone. With their help, you can not only take photographs, but also stylishly process the resulting photos.

Here are the best free apps to edit photos on iPhone and iPad:

VSCO

VSCO - multifunctional tool. With it, you can take, process and publish photos on social networks. I won't describe all the features of this photo app as it would take a lot of time. I will only write about its social component.

The number of VSCO users around the world is simply enormous, and the number of photos posted on the service cannot be counted. It should be noted that company employees select portions daily best photos and publish them to everyone on their page directly in the application. Actually, only here you can take super pictures of different genres from all corners of our earth. You can not limit yourself to just subscribing the best pictures, but also follow all the users you like.

Instagram

Today it is difficult to find a person who does not have an account in this social network. Instagram has changed a lot over the years of its existence. There are many more filters, the ability to publish videos and a large number of tools for processing photos. In addition, quite recently it became possible to take not only square (1:1) photographs and videos, but also in free proportions.

Now users of Android smartphones can try the beta version of the application with the function of “hot” account switching, and in latest update Users were given the opportunity to use 3D Touch technology.

Snapseed

One of those photo editors where everything you need is in one application. I've already reviewed this, describing most of the items and settings. The user interface is made simple - all manipulations with photos are carried out using swipes.

Have Snapseed and weakness, this is a collection of very clumsy filters. Otherwise, this photo editor shows itself exclusively with the best side, making it possible to quickly retouch not only pictures in JPEG, but also in RAW.

Hyperlapse

The creators of Instagram decided not to stop at one application and developed more services that complement the famous social network. Among them, it can be used to shoot videos using software image stabilization, as well as make accelerated video.

Key advantage Hyperlapse What counts is not shooting in accelerated mode, but the actual flawless and accurately working video stabilization system. Do you want everyone to think that you have an iPhone 6s with optical stabilization? Install Hyperlapse and the video on your iPhone 4s will be no worse than that of the iPhone 7 Plus.

Google Photos is a free service for storing photos and videos.

From year to year, the quality of photos and videos improves, therefore, their size also increases. If you don't want to pay Apple for space, then use Google Photos. The application has a convenient and intuitive interface, you can upload an unlimited number of photos and videos. To be fair, I note that unlimited here, as elsewhere, is tricky - the service will compress photos, promising not to damage their quality. Or it will take space from Google Drive if the file exceeds 16 megabytes.

This photo editor also has an interesting “Assistant” function; it itself creates collages, stories and animations from the photos filled in, and does it quite well. However, the main feature is still considered to be a search; it evaluates each photo and autonomously determines what is shown on it. For example, if you write “Forest” in the search, the photo editor will show you all the photos taken against the background of trees.

A Color Story

To make the photos taken from your iPhone bright and beautiful, use a creative photo editor with a suitable name - A Color Story.

The app has over 100 different filters (though unlike VSCO, most of them are paid), 40 photo effects, and 20 free editing tools to adjust things like contrast, curves, light warmth, and more.

Instaflash Pro

If you're looking for an easy-to-use photo editor for iPhone and you don't like the apps listed above, I recommend checking out Instaflash Pro and your iPhoneography will never be boring.

While most photo editors have the ability to adjust things like contrast, exposure, brightness and more, Instaflash Pro goes beyond them by introducing features like:

  • Fill Light/Soft Light— adds brightness to certain parts of your photo.
  • Orton— shifts shadow and saturation in a photograph.
  • Color Splash- allows you to select and change certain parts of your photo to black and white.
  • Color EQ- allows you to specifically give certain places a richness of color, tone and brightness.

...and much more!
