Planting aquarium plants. How to plant perennials

What defines the beauty of a fish house? Of course, not only their inhabitants themselves. Greenery in the aquarium plays a big role, as it allows you to diversify its "landscape" and dilute it with eye-pleasing colors. But it does not always work out with green spaces in the aquarium. Because of this, the plants die.

Uninvited guests

Properly planting a plant is the key to its further development. First, you need to make sure that a plant taken from another aquarium or from another environment in general will not bring any into your aquarium. Disinfection with a weak solution of potassium permanganate for half an hour will get rid of doubts. Now is the time to pay attention to the root system of the plant. Old roots can be carefully cut off, get rid of too long. At the same time, do not forget that the young root system is a fragile system that is easy to break.

landing technique

The very technique of planting a plant is very similar to transplanting ordinary plants. We tear out a small hole, straighten the roots. Under the roots, it is advised to put a special top dressing so that the plant is better accepted. We fall asleep on top of the soil, apply large ones - and voila. If the conditions in the aquarium are favorable, the plant will not only live gloriously, but also multiply. At the same time, it is better to plant young plants, separating them from the "mother" base. If it is too fond of reproduction, it should be thinned out. And finally, paying attention to the fish, do not forget to pay attention to the wonderful green thickets that are so pleasing to the eye. For this they will delight you triple.

...or a pot?

Another option for placing plants in an aquarium is to plant them in pots. Small root tanks with special soil and holes for ventilation are a good option for those green spaces that "feed" with the help of roots. Planting in bowls or pots is not particularly different from planting plants in the ground, except that special fertilizers in the form of tablets, for example, are placed under the roots at a depth of one and a half centimeters. The roots should ideally be evenly distributed and covered with another layer of soil. However, if even distribution cannot be achieved, do not be discouraged. In the aquarium itself, the edges of the pot are lined so that they are not noticeable and the bowls themselves do not affect the aesthetic appearance.

Choosing the roots

Here's a herbalist you can have

When buying a new plant, it would be logical to pay attention not only to the appearance, but also to its root system. Logically, but only at first glance. The fact is that the root system of an aquarium plant changes completely during transplantation. The old roots will soon leave, and in their place in your green bushes and twigs will hold new roots. So when planting a plant, the only important thing is to make sure that the plant does not float. Young roots that have grown up will grab onto the ground. There are, of course, a number of such plants that do not change their root system so radically, but basically new living conditions give rise to new roots. Also, be careful that the roots do not show above the ground, otherwise they will bend.

Planting aquarium plants

Planting green aquarium plants with an extensive root system is carried out as follows - the aquarium should be filled with water to a level of 5-7 centimeters, only after that you can plant plants. Light-loving plants are placed closer to the light source, and shade-loving - where there is the least light. Small plants are planted in front, tall ones are planted behind them. This is necessary to create a beautiful aesthetic appearance of landscaping an aquarium. Before planting the plant in the ground, it is necessary to clean it. To do this, sluggish leaves are removed from him and the roots are cut. Then a small hole is made in the ground, the plant is planted and the roots are covered with sand, but this should be done very carefully so as not to damage them, and the root collar should be left above the ground. Plants of the same species should be planted in a group for their harmonious combination, in which they will look beautiful complementing each other. After planting the plants, the aquarium is filled with water. After some time, when the sand and particles of soil that have risen from the bottom have settled, you can launch the fish.

Plant compatibility

A variety of plants require a different arrangement of planting relative to each other, this is the only way to achieve the beauty of the underwater world in your aquarium. Plants should be placed when arranging an aquarium as follows: green root plants are planted in a quarter-filled aquarium, then plants floating freely in the water are placed at a short distance from them. Despite their name, they will not randomly move around the aquarium, but form a kind of interconnected green structure that will be located in the water column. Then, having filled the aquarium completely, you should place plant species floating on the surface. It is necessary to ensure that plants floating on the surface and in the water column do not obscure those that grow at the bottom of the aquarium.

Number of plants in the aquarium

An important role in determining the quantity is determined by the size of the aquarium and the density of the settlement of fish in it. On average, the required planting density is determined as 1/3 of the area of the aquarium as a whole. With this planting density, plants will not create discomfort for swimming fish. During the day, they will release a sufficient amount of oxygen, and at night they will not cause oxygen starvation in the fish. Guided by these tips, you can determine the need for green plants in your aquarium. And most importantly - correctly position and plant them without causing discomfort to other inhabitants of the aquarium.

Each flower requires its own soil and temperature conditions, which must be taken into account during planting or transplanting crops. Planting indoor plants, carried out correctly, will not only help provide flowers with optimal conditions for growth, but also protect them from diseases.

From today's article, you will learn how to properly plant indoor flowers in a pot. In addition, we will talk about the features of planting and caring for some popular types of indoor plants.

Features and rules for planting indoor plants

Every beginner grower is interested in how to properly plant indoor flowers. And this is not surprising, because the intensity of growth and flowering depends on this process.

Despite the fact that planting flowers for the home is considered simple, some features and rules still need to be considered.

Technology of sowing and planting indoor plants

When planning a flower planting, first of all you need to decide on the shape and size of the pot. To do this, the size of the culture and the degree of development of its root system are taken into account: the longer and wider it is, the more spacious the pot should be.

In addition, you need to consider where you are going to put the flower. Planters are suitable for an open terrace or balcony, and traditional pots or containers are most often chosen for an ordinary city apartment.

Note: Regardless of the type of flowerpot you are going to plant, there should be drainage holes in the bottom of the pot to remove excess moisture. A tray is placed under the pot, into which excess water will drain. Without this condition, water will begin to accumulate near the roots of the flower, and the culture may die.

Planting technology also includes the selection of suitable soil (Figure 1). Each type of flower requires its own special soil, which will reflect the natural soil conditions. The easiest way is to buy a ready-made soil mixture in a special store, but it is much more fun to prepare it yourself.

The classic soil for indoor crops consists of clay-turf soil with the addition of a small amount of compost, peat and high-quality sand. It is also desirable to add a small amount of charcoal, which will act as an organic fertilizer. To simplify the task of planting flowers for the house, here is a step-by-step instruction for this process.

Figure 1. Proper planting of flowers in containers

Sowing or planting indoor plants is carried out as follows:

  • Pot preparation includes the manufacture of a drainage layer (Figure 2). To do this, a layer of expanded clay, broken brick, moss or polystyrene is laid out at the bottom of the container. Such a layer will provide air to the roots and prevent stagnation of moisture in the soil.
  • Pour into a pot part of the prepared soil. The second part is left to cover the roots of the flower.
  • The seedling is placed vertically in a pot, evenly distributing its roots inside the container. Roots should not protrude or be too crowded. If this still happened, you need to take a larger container.
  • The pot is filled to the top the remaining soil mixture and lightly tamp it. After that, the flower needs to be watered and fed (if necessary), and put in a permanent place.

It is important that both the soil itself and the root system must be moist. This will help the earthen coma to attach more tightly to the roots, and will make the process of acclimatization in a new place faster.

Figure 2. Types of drainage for indoor plants

If you plant not a seedling, but seeds, the technology will be similar. First, a layer of drainage is placed in the pot, then the earth is poured (about 2/3 of the volume of the container), the seeds are scattered and sprinkled with a small layer of nutritious grain mixture. Seeds must be watered, covered with glass and placed in a well-lit place.

From the video you will learn which drainage is better to use for indoor flowers.

How to plant indoor flowers in a pot

Proper planting of flowers in pots is much easier than planting crops in open ground. But, despite all the simplicity, there are certain landing rules.

To make your flowers comfortable, you need not only to choose a suitable container, but also to prepare high-quality soil for flowers. If you already have a pot, make sure it has drainage holes in the bottom to allow excess moisture to escape from the soil. If there are no such holes, you will have to make them yourself.

Further stages of planting in pots will be as follows(picture 3):

  1. Laying a drainage layer to the bottom of the tank, and drainage is not necessary to buy. It can be made independently from fragments of bricks, small stones or moss collected in the forest.
  2. Filling the pot with potting mix: it is advisable to pour a layer of soil, which will only half fill the pot. In this case, you can freely place a seedling in it.
  3. Planting a seedling it is carried out as follows: a flower with wet roots is placed in a pot strictly vertically, its root system is distributed so that it is freely in the pot and the roots are sprinkled with the remaining earth. After that, the soil should be slightly compacted and watered.

Figure 3. Stages of planting indoor plants in pots

This completes the planting or transplanting of an indoor flower. Successful cultivation will require periodic watering (the frequency depends on the variety), top dressing, as well as ensuring the optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Some species tolerate the moderate humidity of an ordinary city apartment well, while others require additional moisture, which can be provided by ordinary spraying of the leaves.

The technology of planting indoor plants in pots is shown in the video.

Pot selection

It is important not only to know how to properly plant indoor plants, but also what containers should be used for this. Modern manufacturers offer a wide range of pots in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and styles, so you can easily find the right container (Figure 4).

Figure 4. Types of flower pots

Experienced flower growers recommend being guided not so much by taste preferences as by the practical side. Firstly, the pot must be large enough for a particular variety so that the root system of the flower is freely placed inside. Secondly, there should be drainage holes in the bottom of the tank through which excess moisture will leave the soil. In addition, the pot must be durable and comfortable.

Peculiarities

Since there is a wide variety of pots made of various materials on the modern market, we will give the features of clay, plastic and other containers for indoor flowers.

The best, from the point of view of ecology, are clay pots. They do not emit toxic substances, therefore they are absolutely safe for human health and plants. However, such containers break easily, and after prolonged use they can crack. In addition, they are heavy, so it will be difficult to freely rearrange the pots, especially large ones.

Plastic pots are very light, beautiful and elegant. They are easy to wash and rearrange if necessary. But when buying such a pot, be sure to keep in mind that the plastic that was used to make it releases harmful substances into the soil and air that can harm not only plants, but also people.

Rules for planting and caring for indoor flowers in a pot

In the previous sections, we have already considered the rules for planting crops in pots. Therefore, we will dwell in more detail on caring for flowers for the home (Figure 5). In this matter, one should be guided by the characteristics of each variety. For example, exotic tropical flowers require intensive watering and moisture, while cacti, on the contrary, do not tolerate excess moisture.

Figure 5. The main stages of care for indoor crops

In addition, home flowerpots require periodic top dressing, which is applied by watering under the root or spraying the leaves. In winter, it is necessary to provide flowers with additional lighting, and during cultivation, it is necessary to periodically inspect for pests or symptoms of diseases in order to carry out preventive spraying, if necessary.

Gloxinia indoor flower: planting and care

Gloxinia belongs to one of the most beautiful and unusual indoor flowers. Under natural conditions, this crop is found in Brazil, but if you properly plant gloxinia tubers and provide them with proper care, you can grow it at home (Figure 6).

In general, indoor gloxinia flower is easy to plant and care for, but some features of growing this exotic crop still need to be taken into account.

The basic rules for caring for gloxinia are:

  1. Good lighting without exposure to direct sunlight, from which the delicate leaves and petals of gloxinia can get burned. The best place for a flower is a rack with artificial lighting or diffused sunlight.
  2. No drafts is also an important condition for successful cultivation. In this case, gloxinia will bloom profusely, forming neat rosettes.
  3. During flowering moderate but regular watering should be provided. The flowering period lasts from March to October. After that, the leaves of gloxinia begin to gradually turn yellow and fall off, and a dormant period begins. At this time, watering is reduced.

Figure 6. Features of caring for gloxinia

When the gloxinia has faded, the bulb can not be dug up, but left in moist soil. But in order to maintain viability, the pot with the bulb must be transferred to a dark, cool room and stored at a temperature not higher than +10 degrees until next spring.

Indoor flowers balsam: planting, care and photo

Balsam can be called a universal plant, because it successfully blooms both in a city apartment and in open ground (Figure 7).

Let us dwell in more detail on the conditions for planting and caring for indoor balsam:

  • Penumbra- the best condition for growing balsam. Despite the fact that the flower tolerates intense lighting well, it will grow much better on shaded eastern and southeastern window sills.
  • Watering plays the most important role in the care of balsams, as these flowers are very responsive to intensive watering. Do not wait until the earthen ball dries. In summer, balsams are watered every other day, and in winter - once every two or three days.
  • Under a pot of balsam be sure to install a pallet. But the rest of the water can not be drained from it. During the day, the roots will absorb this moisture.
  • Priming it is better to take a light one, which is usually used for indoor flower crops. If the soil is too dense and oversaturated with nutrients, the balsam bush will have many leaves, but few flowers.

Figure 7. External features of indoor balsam

If you want to save money and plan to plant balsam immediately in a large pot, you should immediately clarify that this is not recommended. Under such conditions, all the forces of the plant will be directed to the growth and formation of a large bush, and the flowering period will be delayed. Therefore, it is better to choose a compact container that is suitable in size to the volume of the root system.

Indoor hydrangea flowers: planting seeds and care

Indoor hydrangea is a compact perennial shrub that is covered with numerous ball-shaped inflorescences (Figure 8). If suitable growing conditions have been created for the hydrangea, it will bloom profusely and for a long time every year.

Planting and caring for indoor hydrangea flowers includes such important points:

  • Intense but diffuse lighting for example, a pot can be placed a few meters from the south window.
  • Comfort temperature for hydrangea is +20 degrees, but she feels good even with a slight decrease or increase in performance. The main thing is that there are no drafts and sudden changes in temperature in the room.
  • After completion of flowering a dormant period begins, which lasts until about February. At this time, it is better to transfer the flower to a dark, cool place and store until the buds awaken. After that, you can return the hydrangea to its usual conditions.

Figure 8. Growing room hydrangea

In addition, hydrangeas require fairly plentiful and frequent watering. In summer it is carried out more often, in autumn it is gradually reduced, and in winter it will be enough to bring moisture only once a week. Also, hydrangeas need to be sprayed often to increase air humidity. Ordinary cans of water installed next to the flower pot will also help to cope with this task.

What indoor flowers can not be planted at home

Not all indoor plants, even those that look very beautiful, are completely safe. Some of them, especially exotic ones, secrete poisonous juice that can be dangerous for people and animals.

Note: When buying a new flower for your home, be sure to ask if it is poisonous. And, if you have small children or animals at home, it is better to avoid such a purchase.

Since many poisonous varieties are surprisingly beautiful and highly decorative, many still prefer to place them at home. But when caring for such flowers, it is imperative to wear gloves, wash your hands thoroughly after all manipulations, and prevent juice from getting on the skin and mucous membranes.

So that you do not accidentally buy a poisonous flower, we present a list of plants that should not be kept at home.(picture 9):

  1. dieffenbachia- a culture with a high decorative value, which is often used to decorate the interior. But the juice that is released when the leaves or stems are cut is poisonous and can cause poisoning or burns on the skin.
  2. Mimosa bashful characterized by the fact that its thin leaves fold into a tube at the slightest touch. But you can’t keep it at home, as it releases substances toxic to the human body into the air, which can lead to hair loss and general poisoning.
  3. Monstera in itself is not dangerous. The juice of this exotic species can cause harm. Getting on the skin or in the eyes, it causes burns, and if it is accidentally swallowed, severe poisoning.
  4. Nightshade- an evergreen shrub that is covered with bright orange fruits. They are poisonous and can cause serious poisoning, so it is not recommended to keep such a flower at home if you have small children or animals that can accidentally eat bright berries.
  5. Azalea It is considered one of the most popular houseplants due to its lush and beautiful flowers. But there is one species that should not be kept at home. This is Azalea Sims, the leaves of which, when ingested, cause colic and severe convulsions.

Figure 9. Dangerous plants for the home: 1 - dieffenbachia, 2 - bashful mimosa, 3 - monstera, 4 - nightshade, 5 - Sims azalea

Among the dangerous poisonous plants is primrose. If there are a large number of these plants at home, during the flowering period, people and animals may suffer due to toxic substances that are released into the atmosphere during the flowering period. Therefore, if you cannot resist the beauty of primroses, it is better to keep only one flower of this species at home.

Tips for choosing a pot, soil and drainage for proper planting

A question many people face.

We can often see different types of soils, drainages and additives on store shelves - try to figure out what exactly suits your grandmother's favorite ficus or a large lemon tree ...

"And a stalk of grass is worthy of the great world in which it grows..."

Surely, a good hostess of a cozy house has a special passion - growing indoor flowers and plants. It is not for nothing that it is believed that plants "feel" the aura of a good person, if all kinds of flowers in pots (of any kind) grow magnificently or coexist in the house - this indicates the positive energy of the owners of the house.

How to plant indoor plants?- A question faced by many. We can often see different types of soils, drainages and additives on store shelves - try to figure out what exactly suits your grandmother’s favorite ficus or a large lemon tree ... There are no universal recommendations for choosing soil or soil, but there are generally accepted norms and concepts that will help your green households.

We plant indoor flowers without compromising their well-being

To plant (or transplant) a houseplant, you will need

A flower pot (or planter, as it is fashionable to call it now), preferably with a pallet

    soil

  • plant (flower)

Choosing a flower pot

First you need to choose the right container for planting (flower pot). The cache-pot should be about 3-5 cm larger than the previous one in size (diameter). If you plant a flower in a larger pot, then the growth of the plant may be stunted (instead, the root system will enter the active growth phase), and with it the flowering will be delayed.

The most optimal and affordable option - plastic pots with pallets. They do not break or prick, they are offered in different designs and sizes, they are produced in series (which will allow you to transplant all flowers into pots of different sizes in the same style). In addition, they are lightweight and durable.

! Important: when choosing a pot, pay attention to the presence of a hole in its bottom. If it is not provided there, buy another one or make a hole yourself.

Drainage - what is it and how to use it

In order for your flower to have a better chance of developing successfully, experienced flower growers recommend when transplanting plants in a pot create a drainage system. Drainage will smooth out small misses in watering.

! Advice from SLONcom: it is more expedient to use expanded clay drainage.

What is expanded clay? In essence, expanded clay is fired clay with a porous structure. The only expanded clay parameter that can vary is the fraction (grain size). For drainage, expanded clay of a fraction of 5–10 mm is used (sometimes they write "small expanded clay"). Often you can also find larger expanded clay with a fraction of 10 - 20 mm (then they write "large expanded clay").

! In the absence of expanded clay, drainage can be done using ceramic shards.

What size drain is best to use? For plants, there is not much difference which fraction of expanded clay you put as drainage. Here, subjective reasons are more important: the diameter of the drain hole in the pot (in large pots, small expanded clay can spill out of the drain hole).

We spread the drainage and prepare the soil for the flower

drainage layer in small pots (up to 3 liters) should be about 1-2 cm, in larger pots from 5 to 10. But no more than 1/5 of the height of the flower pot.

! Important: some manufacturers of "expanded clay drainage" recommend mixing drainage with the ground, ostensibly to prevent soil acidification. This is not true, because if the acidification process has already begun, expanded clay can only delay the beginning of the end. Much better to water properly. Mixing expanded clay with the ground is relevant only for air exchange of the roots.

By the way, after 5 - 6 years of being in the ground, expanded clay is gradually destroyed and transformed into soil, i.e. after 5 - 6 years, it is recommended to renew the drainage.

The next step is soil preparation.. Today, flower shops offer a wide range of soils intended for all types of plants and flowers. It already contains the necessary minerals and fertilizers that favorably affect the growth of flowers, moreover, it does not contain harmful impurities and debris. Thanks to this soil, your indoor flowers will not need top dressing for a long time.

Pour a small amount of prepared soil on the drainage layer, plant a plant in the center, add soil and compact a little.

*Important: leave at least 2cm to the top edge of the pot.

Use of drainage on the soil surface. We recommend filling the soil with a layer of expanded clay (drainage) from above, because. this prevents the appearance of mold, mosses and fungi on the surface of the soil. Also expanded clay from above eliminates overheating of the topsoil and reduces the evaporation of moisture from the soil. In addition to useful properties, expanded clay can serve as a decoration (for example, colored drainage).

How to fill the surface of the soil with drainage.Pour evenly with expanded clay, a layer of about 1 cm, and not 2 - 4 cm, as is often written on the package. Too much expanded clay will absorb a lot of water and will not let it into the ground to the roots, which can begin to dry.

Live plants provide a natural healthy aquatic environment for any aquarium, providing protection and shelter for many small fish species and fry. Each plant has its own conditions for successful growth, some are very capricious and require special care, others are unpretentious and adapt to various water parameters. The latter are the best choice for the beginner aquarist.

Step #1 Choose plants that require the same conditions as your fish. Lighting is usually set at a ratio of 2 watts per 4–5 liters of water. So for a volume of 100 liters, you will need light bulbs with a total power of 20-25 watts. These are approximate average numbers!

Step #2 Beginners are advised to purchase unpretentious plants such as Hygrophila variegated, Java moss, Anubias dwarf, Cryptocrine, Vallisneria.

Step #3 Use fine gravel or coarse sand as a substrate. Reliable rooting is possible with a soil thickness of 4–6 cm. If possible, mix the new soil with a part of the old one from a mature aquarium in a ¼ ratio (for example, you can ask friends or acquaintances). This is true for a new aquarium and will provide initial feeding to the plants.

Step #4 Before placing the plant in water, carefully examine the leaves, they may contain snail eggs. Uninvited guests will fall out of place.

Step #5 Most root plants are sold in pots/containers. Carefully remove the plant and use a toothpick to untangle the roots.

Step #6 Use a pencil or wooden dowel to make a hole in which to place the root system. Fill in the roots. Floating plants can simply be placed in the aquarium.

Step #7 Plants need 3 to 4 weeks to acclimatize, during which time they will live off the stored nutrients. Therefore, adding fertilizer does not make any sense, they will not be absorbed and will only pollute the water. In the future, the fish themselves will fertilize the soil, no worse than expensive additives.

Step #8 Once placed, the plants will become an integral part of the aquarium's biological system and will maintain the ecological balance by absorbing fish waste and releasing oxygen.

To choose one or another method of planting garden plants, you will not only have to look at beautiful illustrations in specialized catalogs, but also learn about the features of the formation of landscape groups. Good taste is not enough to plant flowers in the garden as your fantasy suggests.

It is necessary to follow the rules of compatibility, because some cultures can suppress others or bloom at the same time, and for the rest of the time your site will seem empty.

Even beautiful and well-maintained plants, selected according to the natural conditions of the site, will not make a good impression if planted in a disorder, without taking into account the decorative features of each species.

There are several basic ways to plant flowers, and for each type of composition, plants are selected in a special way. Height, shape, flowering time, course of development during the summer season are taken into account.

You will learn how to properly and beautifully plant flowers in the garden by reading this material.

Vertical gardening and planting flowers in groups

"Vertical gardening" is commonly referred to as the design of vertical surfaces (building facades, fences, trellis or pergolas) with plants.

For such a beautiful planting of flowers, you can use both perennial shrub decorative leaf (,) and flowering () lianas, as well as ampelous herbaceous plants. With such landscaping, it is desirable to use supports (wooden, metal, etc.).

In a small garden, a group is a composition of herbaceous plants, shrubs, dwarf forms of trees, which, in imitation of nature, has free outlines. In a simple group, plants of one species are used, in a mixed group, two or more.

Plants are chosen in such a way that their visible part is stably decorative.

Plants that decorate the facades of buildings, especially the upper floors, must also be wind resistant. Crops with delicate flowers and leaves, such as petunias, are not suitable. In this case, plants with dense or hard foliage are used (which is easy to determine by touch).

How beautiful to plant flowers in a rocky garden

Another interesting idea for planting flowers in the garden is to create a rockery. Compositions of plants with stones, imitating mountain landscapes, have gained extraordinary popularity in private gardens.

They can be performed not only in the form of "slides", but also on flat areas, give them a strict geometric or free landscape shape.

Before planting flowers in a rocky garden, you need to beautifully arrange the stones. Having chosen a rock, arranging the boulders in a picturesque order, you can think about acquiring plants.

Aggressive species that grow rapidly and hide stones are not suitable for rockeries. To preserve the originality of the composition of the "mountain landscape", do not allow it to turn into a flowering flower bed. Powerful tall plants planted next to medium-sized boulders also look comical - it is better to dwell on miniature forms and varieties.

Single plantings of plants

A single planting method allows you to highlight one of the plants in the garden and turn it into the center of attention. This technique, for all its apparent simplicity, requires a special taste and artistic flair.

The solitary plant is placed at a distance from other plantings so that it is not perceived as part of the composition, for example, as a detail of a mixborder located in the background.

It is important that the size of the selected plant matches the scale of the surrounding space. In a large park, this can be a stand-alone tree, in a small area - a beautiful specimen of a shrub or Solitaire flower should have a beautiful shape, look good from afar.

Usually these are powerful plants, regardless of height, well leafy in the lower part, not losing their decorative effect during the entire growing season.

blooming lawn

And one more idea how to beautifully plant flowers in the garden is to arrange a flowering lawn. Such lawns can be of several types.

The Mauritanian lawn is made up of a mixture of grasses and flowering plants, mostly annuals, and needs to be mowed. It is carried out for the first time in May, at the beginning of the growth of cereals. The next is possible only after the seeds ripen.

The lawn is mowed in dry weather and the grass is not removed for several days to allow the seeds to get enough sleep. After this haircut, the plantings take on an untidy look for a short period, so this design method is good for the far corners of the garden.

The meadow lawn does not need to be cut. It is made from low herbs, such as clover.
