New light or pike perch, whichever is better. Things to see in Novyi Svet-Sudak

A huge gull, having come up with our ferry, accompanied us, roaring loudly in the end, in its maritime dialect: “Good luck, pale-faced!”

And now we are in Kerch. A new bus was waiting for us there... The driver forgot the ticket safely. An hour later we, dazed, plunged into a new bus and the driver said:

"Well, kamikaze, let's ride?" "Go?!"

What Crimean Tatar does not like fast driving along the serpentine, and even with cutting presumptuous motorists! A few hours later, all the horror was left behind, and we arrived in Sudak!

Throwing off the little things in the hotel and admiring the precious views from the window of your own room for a few minutes:

Fortress Mountain…

and the sea, just the sea,

we were already rushing to the beach to wash off road dust and fatigue.

Sentinel, on the observation tower: “Citizens vacationers, please make happy faces - Sudak welcomes you!”

Soldaya for the Genoese, Sugdeya for the Greek colonists, Surozh for the Russian merchants in ancient times was a symbol of wealth and fertility. For us, it became a paradise, where we were absolutely happy for ten whole days!

We fell in love with mornings in Sudak))

We adored the mysterious light of night lamps on the embankment and Cypress Alley. Hypnotically attracted the eye of the Genoese fortress.

We chose a place for beach relaxation right under the Fortress Hill

View of the Crab Island from the observation deck of the Genoese fortress.

Crabs, these cute freaks are teeming with crabs. Adults and children arrange a fun hunt for them. Crabs are cunning: they hide in cracks and flounder into the water when you offer them a friendly claw to shake!

The swimming areas are wonderful. Somewhere quite shallow.

And if you are lovers of the depths, you can safely sail to the Fortress Mountain and to the New World. Tired of swimming? Choose a stone that is convenient for you, climb on it like a mermaid or a sea serpent and relax.

You can sing songs from the Siren's repertoire and sink passing small-sized ships ... You can study grottoes and rock secrets. By the way, there, for the most part, people swim in masks with snorkels. Lots of scuba divers. General delight mixed with disgust is caused by jellyfish with a lilac edging!

And in the evenings, people here admire black dolphins, their strict rectilinear course, jumps and incredible harmony of water dances.

Tired of roasting on the beach, choose your entertainment to your liking.

Marusya and I enjoyed kayaking to Cape Alchak-Kaya and back. We carefully listened to the introductory briefing, did not understand anything, went to the boat (kayak). Paddles in hand and - forward!

After 15 minutes they ruled like true rowers.

At sunset, the sun fell behind the Fortress Hill in a matter of minutes. Such luck - we filmed this from the open sea!

Our smartphones are packed in a waterproof film. Therefore, such a haze turned out.

One day, tired of the intense heat, we decided to ride horses in the Sudak forestry.

My horse's name is Ladushka. Lada. Breed: Mongolian. Color: birch albino. But does this happen?

Masha, as the smallest, was brought up by the horse Malyshka. Do you know the name of the Baby foal? Molecule!

An hour and a half drive through the enveloping coolness of the Crimean forest, where hornbeams and pines with huge needles grow intermingled. Then - exit to the steppe zone.

The instructor took pictures of us with the most real view. Then he admitted, they say, I'm not friends with this technique. But we saved a few photos.

Masha said that it turned out very psychedelic. This is what I feel...

The horses were not in a hurry to follow the riders' commands, but they reacted very sensitively to the moving blade of grass in the instructor's teeth, like musicians to the conductor's bow! When we returned to the farm, all the horses were brought to their foals. I asked where is Ladushka's baby. I was told that I should look back. I looked back. The locked gates of the corral neighed and shook. “This is Ladkin's son. We'll let him in later, otherwise he, restless, with joy begins to gnaw on the reins of his mother. I ate a few times. So we call him the Rodent! … An unforgettable feeling when you feed a horse with carrots. Her warm wet lips carefully take a piece from your palm ... I hugged Ladushka by the big head. Stroked. What intelligent and bottomless eyes she has with light eyelashes ...

It's time to return.

Almost next door to Sudak is the village of Novy Svet.

Why New World? History tells us that Count Golitsyn, brightest star in the field of winemaking, devoted his whole life to viticulture and the production of champagnes, which were not inferior in quality to sparkling French province Champagne. And he succeeded!

His wines took out-of-competition gold in Paris in 1889, the Grand Prix in Bordeaux in 1884, and in 1900 the Grand Prix in Paris, where his champagne was recognized as the best in the world.

Lev Golitsyn did not stop there and continued to create new varieties of wines. Production required huge capital investments, so the prince made a logically flawless move. He decided to attract Nicholas II to invest in winemaking. Lev Sergeevich invited the highest person to his land, led him along his own path. Nicholas II was very impressed and, having drunk a sip of champagne in Chaliapin's grotto, he exclaimed: "I see New World!" On that, as they say, and decided.

So, half an hour on the morning bus - and we are already there.

Mom, what kind of bird is this screaming?

And here is such an “overseas bird” Cicada. Oh, and she cracked, crushing the air with her decibels)))

And so Mashunya and I set foot on the legendary path, having previously recharged with a glass of blackberries))

Serenity…

Beware of crashes!

Three brave sailors

It is good to peep over the sea through the keyhole ...

Task: find on a stone, far below, three black cormorants))

We visited Chaliapin's grotto (natural grotto, carved sea waves in Mount Koba-Kaya), where the singer, who highly valued Golitsyn's company, loved to perform his songs. The echo was repeatedly reflected from the cave walls, and more than one glass of wine burst from the power of his voice...

The old enoteca, where the secrets of the Cimmerian rocks are stored in memory cells.

Winery.

Robber bay.

People swim under prohibition signs: "Caution, collapses" and "Swimming is prohibited."

Cape Kapchik is extremely reminiscent of a dolphin in its outlines. By the way, it is in the direction of this rock that dolphins always swim. The main deity Delphinida lives there.

Blue bay. Royal beach.

... Sphinx Seagull. She allowed herself to be photographed from a distance of one meter, while only lazily turning her head.

Oh, this strangely recognizable stone face!

We were enveloped in a sultry and tart juniper ether when we passed a relic juniper grove.

We saw an elder whose age exceeded seven centuries. In general, juniper lives for a thousand years.

At the same time, he does not seek to pierce the sky, like a giant sequoia, but only becomes thicker and more squiggly. Its bark is cracking deeper and wrapping itself into an unknown spiral...

Stankevich's pine grows on the tops and slopes of the mountains. Its vertical roots are drilled by the ancient Crimean rocks in order to get food from the stone!!!, and the horizontal ones are closely intertwined and such a pine community exists high in the mountains.

Do you know, friends, that pistachio pistachio and turpentine tree are one and the same? And it also lives up to the venerable 1000 years of age!

After passing the Golitsyn trail with its incredible descents and ascents, we went on an excursion to the sparkling wine factory.

At home, browsing the Internet, I came across the words of the ubiquitous Gilyarovsky about Lev Sergeevich. I consider it appropriate to quote them here:

« Lev Golitsyn was also disliked (in the English Club) for his harsh, obscene speeches for that time. But Lev Golitsyn was not afraid of anyone. He always went about, winter and summer, in a muzhik's wide beaver coat, and his huge figure drew attention on the streets.

The drivers called him "wild master." The Tatars in his Caucasian estate called him "Aslan Deli" - the crazy Lion.

He threw money right and left, without refusing anything to anyone, especially young students, kept on Tverskaya, at the corner of Chernyshevsky Lane, next to the governor-general's house, a shop grape wines from its magnificent Crimean vineyards "New World" and retailed pure, natural wine at twenty-five kopecks per bottle:

- I want the worker, artisan, small employee to drink good wine! he said.

There we learned what remuage and disgorging are. Remuage (remuage) is a way to get rid of sediment on the cork during bottled champagne by turning the bottles in a special way.

And disgorgement is an operation used in bottle champagne to release yeast sediment after remuage.

As you can see in the photographs, master remuors and degorgers are certainly women with their sensitive and gentle fingers)

We learned how bottled wine differs from barreled wine. We were told that wine aged in the bottle is never carbonated from the outside. Therefore, the stream of bubbles in true champagne is thin and tender.

At the Novy Svet winery, wine matures exclusively in bottles.

The enoteca has a vintage 1948 wine!

Then we were led into the assembly hall, where an old movie camera was monotonously buzzing and crackling in a cool, semi-dark room. A popular science film, recorded on an old faded film, people watched with interest, listening to the voice-over. But I was distracted from the topic by a swallow, incomprehensibly how it flew in and fought in closed window. I hope the workers caught her later and released her.

And then ... the most pleasant thing was: we were taken to a tasting.

6 varieties of champagnes and sparkling wines.

Gradual gradation of color from pale white, unsteady, like a scattered sunbeam,

... through the brightest amber, ... transparent pinkness ... to intense ruby red.

Various shades of taste from a slightly noticeable sourness of a spring berry in a semi-dry glass, gradually passing from glass to glass into sunny and ripe fragrant aromas of heavenly fruits…

From the tasting room, everyone came out joyfully excited and spread around the factory yard to photograph serious husbands in electric cars.

So how do you get past folk art factory workers! Everyone, everyone is talented, without exception: from a senior worker to a simple cleaner! A sort of New World Lobster Khayama)

And I felt the influence of enotherapy on myself: I had a past unbearable pain in my knee, exactly 15 minutes after visiting the factory! I'm not lying, honest pioneer)

By the way, this bust is exposed in the communist canteen! Everything is communist there: from compote to facial expressions and the severity of the speeches of distributors)))

And now a microexcursion into history and some wonderful photos on the topic “Genoese fortress in Sudak”.

The main gate of the fortress and the entrance.

The Genoese fortress was built by the Italians. It took 100 years to build from the 14th to the 15th century. It was the sunset Byzantine Empire, which included Genoa. The Genoese were excellent warriors and merchants and gradually mastered the Crimea. Sudak was a military fortification center for them. A fortress was built on the site of the Khazar Khaganate.

The fortress was built on a high mountain called Kyz-Kulle-Burun (Fortress). At the very top of this hill rises a rounded tower. Now it is the Maiden, or Watchtower, and the Genoese knew it as the Tower of St. Elijah. This is the former residence of the consul.

In total, there are 14 towers in the fortress, each of which has its own name. The towers were called by the name of the consul under whom they were built.

Fifteenth, the Port Tower is poorly preserved.

On both sides, the walls run along the edge of the cliffs, almost sheer to the sea. From the northeast, a deep ditch was dug out, practically not preserved to this day.

Most interesting inner part, consisting of four towers and the Consular Castle, interconnected by high battlements, breaking right into the sea. A bit further away is the Watchtower.

All fortifications were divided into two tiers of defense - external and internal. During the time of the Genoese, the city of Soldaya (Sudak) was located between them.

These are fresh water reservoirs.

At the end of the 15th century, the fortress fell under the onslaught of the Turks. Soldaya becomes part of the Ottoman Empire. Culture is in decline. In the 2nd half of the 18th century, Sudak (Surozh) was conquered from the Turks by the Russians.

The aura of the Middle Ages here is slightly diluted with business "like a knight".

…Viewpoint. In the distance is Cape Alchak-Kaya, and behind it is Meganom.

Tourist paths

The skies are about to open...

First drops...

In a matter of minutes, a downpour began and we hurried to get out of the ancient city.

And finally, according to tradition, I will name some films that were filmed here: "Original Russia", "Almanzor's Rings", "The Master and Margarita". On the way to the New World, the Golgotha rock (more precisely, the Sugar Loaf mountain) with three crosses for crucifixion opens from the bus window. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to take pictures.

Young ladies, tell me who was where, where with the reb. 2 years is better, the water is cleaner, the people are not very good. a lot, they are interested in better hotels with a kitchen (children have allergies).
We were in Kurortny that year, but there is a problem with the beaches, there are few of them and not enough for everyone, and they are dirty.

No one writes positively, so that's it, I'm going to Greece in the end: 065:

21.06.2010, 15:15

I don’t advise you to go to Sudak and Novy Svet because of the beach, the beaches are very small by 10-00 there are places only at the fence, where the smell is terrible (since in the evening they arrange a public toilet there)
distance between people is 5 cm

Campaign on almost the entire coast is such a disaster: 005:

21.06.2010, 17:35

Ordzhonikidze is a terrible hole, in my opinion. Pike perch is not bad, it is bigger, Novyi Svet is better in terms of landscape and bay, it has always been a more expensive resort.

21.06.2010, 17:53

We were in Koktebel from 05/25/10 to 06/12/10 (we visited Novy Svet). My opinion is if you are traveling during the season, i.e. July-August, definitely crowds of people. Even on June 12, compared to June 06, there was a noticeable difference on the beach. If September. that's already good. In Novy Svet, the beach is small, but the nature is beautiful, but much more expensive (In June, Koktebel 1 sq. 150 hryvnia, N.S. 230). The beach in Koktebel is quite large ... Last year we were in Greece, if it weren’t for a free apartment with friends in Koktebel (that is, you don’t have to pay for housing), Greece would never have been exchanged for Koktebel ...

Hello! Who can tell where in Sudak you can stay with a dog?

I think in the private sector in most cases it is possible. In any case, in Kurortny, it’s close, many people came with dogs, the main thing is to agree, or do you want to go to a hotel?

21.06.2010, 19:51

Novyi Svet is definitely better than Sudak, the beach there is clean but paid (cheap as far as I remember), and there are many picturesque coves. I don’t really like pike perch, you can only go there once on an excursion. There have been water problems before. Ordzhonikidze is better than Koktebel (this is if with a child). In Koktebel there is a stone beach, and not pebble, but stone (gravel). And along the entire embankment there were some taverns, bars, shalmans, and you have to go right through them, I didn’t like it terribly (terrible smells of pilaf, etc.). But there is a dolphinarium and a good water park. In Ordzhonikidze, the main beach is sandy, the entrance to the water is gentle with a child. But there is really not much entertainment. There is almost no private sector. My choice with a child: more expensive - Novy Svet, more budgetary - Ordzhonikidze.

In the New World, a paid beach, small, for the village is normal. During the season, all the beaches of the coast are clogged. I would not advise coming with a two-year-old child to the beach at 10 am ...: 015: We leave the beach at 10-30, we arrive at 8 - places are filled up: 004:, you can pay for sunbeds for the whole vacation and come at any time , they will not be occupied. I like the New World landscape, air-:010:, juniper groves, locals believe that if along the coast it's raining- the sun is in the New World, the mountains do not let the clouds through, which is also beneficial, I would not want to sit in my house on my vacation, the sea has always been clean and transparent, there is a smooth descent to the sea along the entire beach, and not like in Koktebel - I stepped aside and already with my head, and I didn’t see the sea there so that it was clean ...
For a vacation with a CHILD, I would definitely choose the New World: flower:, which, in fact, I do, we leave there on July 8 until the end of August: fifa:

Thank you! It seems that I found it in the private sector, but there are no places for the hotel where I wanted to.

Pike perch horror, there is nothing to do.

26.06.2010, 00:08

Early.

28.06.2010, 13:45

I love pike perch dearly, but with a small one I would not go anywhere from the above places.
Early.

And why early, last year we went to those parts in the village. The resort, we had a year and it was normal, on the plane we slept back and forth, only the beaches were not very good, so I was puzzled, maybe in the neighboring population. better points.............

On the Black Sea coast in Crimea, next to each other, there are two beautiful resorts - the village of Novy Svet and the city of Sudak. These are two very popular holiday destinations in Crimea. Often tourists cannot choose where to go. Accurately answer the question "which of these resorts is better?" will not work, because everything depends on the interests of the tourists themselves. But, nevertheless, it is possible to compare the two given places. Then the tourist will be able to take the right decision and choose the right place to rest, where he will be most comfortable.

Sudak is a city on the Black Sea coast, with a population approaching 18 thousand people. Novyi Svet is an urban-type settlement located in the suburbs of Sudak.

Beaches

The beach of the New World is clearly inferior in length, since its length is about 500 meters. The length of the Sudak beach is about two kilometers, but it is divided into small sections, enclosed by fences and special concrete fortifications, which do not give it the proper beauty.

Both beaches are covered with sand and pebbles. Both are well looked after, but, according to the subjective opinion of tourists, the water in the village is both clearer and much cleaner.

Umbrellas, toilets and sun loungers - all this is present on the beaches. The only difference is that there are more entertainment in Sudak.

So, in Sudak, the beach is much larger, looks more comfortable and developed, and in the New World it looks more picturesque.

Attractions

There are not many attractions in Sudak, but there is one that attracts tourists from all over the Crimea - this is the Sudak Genoese fortress. Sudak also has a historical museum, a hiking trail located on the cape and mountain Alchak-Kaya.

There are no attractions as such in the New World, but not everything is so scary. Nature itself endowed the village with many unique natural places: picturesque bays, the Golitsyn trail, Cape Kapchik, Mount Sokol. If hiking is important and interesting, then the New World will be just a godsend.

Infrastructure

Sudak will be in the black, because it is considered a developed city. Convenient bus routes and numerous stops, an abundance shopping centers, shops and supermarkets. There is no urban transport in Novy Svet, there is a single suburban bus that is always packed and connects the village with Sudak.

Novyi Svet is a very small village, the choice of housing is limited here, so in order to rent a house in Novyi Svet 2018, you should book it in advance. F accommodation in Sudak is easier to find, as there are more options and more varied prices.

Entertainment

It is logical to assume that, comparing the village with the city in terms of the abundance of entertainment, the city will naturally win. Sudak has a well-designed promenade and entertainment everywhere you look. Several huge children's parks, various attractions, a water park, nightclubs and dolphinariums - that's what Sudak has. And also there is the famous Cypress Alley with large quantity restaurants and establishments.

Sudak - one of the most popular resort towns on the southern coast of Crimea. It's also traditional here. In ancient times, the city was called differently, and the modern name arose during the Ottoman rule. It is assumed that Sudak is translated as "Holy", "Immaculate" or "Clean". To the north of the city there are many mountains covered with oak or beech forests, in the east there is an arid valley, and to the west is the village in which we rested.

A Brief History of Sudak

The city is famous not only as a major resort, but also due to its historical significance. To protect a prosperous trading settlement from raids from the sea, it was located here. It was built in the VI (700s) century by order Byzantine emperor Justinian I.

Exist legend that the city played great importance in baptism of Russia. At the end of the 8th or beginning of the 9th century, the Slavs captured most Crimea and broke into Sudak. When their prince Bravlin approached the tomb of Stefan of Surozh, which was then in the St. Sophia Church of Surozh (the old name for Sudak), "his face turned back." To get rid of the curse, the prince ordered to leave the city, return the goods stolen from them to the inhabitants and release the prisoners, but this did not help him either. I had to be baptized. Since then, Christianity began to actively spread among the rulers of Kievan Rus.

The city changed hands many times and experienced both periods of prosperity and decline. For example, in 1365 the city was conquered by the Genoese, who significantly rebuilt and expanded the fortress, added fortress walls and towers. It is thanks to these works that the fortifications received such a name:

This is what the fortress looks like from the embankment. In fact, the view is very beautiful, but it is very hot in Sudak.

The fortress stands on a rock and guards the bay of Sudak.

Decline of Sudak began with the conquest Ottoman Empire in 1475 and continued when the Crimea became part of Russian Empire. For example, according to the 1805 census, only 33 people lived in the abandoned city, mostly old people who did not want to move anywhere.

Revival of Sudak It was long and difficult - it received the status of a city again only in 1982. Wineries were built here, tourism was actively developing. Now Sudak is one of the most popular tourist centers of Crimea.

What to take with you if you decide to go to Sudak?

1. If you decide to have a rest in Sudak, don't forget your hats. It is much hotter here than in.

2. Water, fruits, sandwiches, groceries and other similar items will cost a lot cheaper so if you want to save money, take it with you.

3. You will also need comfortable shoes. The route to the fortress is not too difficult, but you will have to climb a lot along a rocky path, on which convenient stairs are not everywhere equipped.

The photo is not ours, we took it from

What to see in Sudak?

In the first place, of course, . It is quite well preserved, but the entrance to the territory is paid and quite expensive. For about the same money, we visited, for example, the Louvre in France, so we advise you to save them for the next trip. To be honest, there is practically nothing interesting inside - only the building of the former Padishah-Jami mosque, which houses the Sudak Historical Museum (although maybe we are just too spoiled different cities and countries?). Excursions are conducted both organized and independent.

This is what the fortress looks like from the inside. panorama can be rotated:

I want to warn that at the entrance there are many locals with eagles and other birds. They offer to put a bird on your arm or shoulder for free. There are several scenarios planned for the development of events, but in any of them you will most likely have to pay a tidy sum, which will greatly spoil the impressions of the rest.

Defense towers and stairs.

Fortress inside. As you can see, there is almost nothing to see there.

The fortress wall is quite long and large. You can see it from the outside for free.

Although you can look at visiting the fortress from the other side - it is enough to appreciate the view from the fortress wall:

2.Resort architecture of the 19th century

The city itself is also very beautiful. There are many old buildings that are worth seeing here. Unfortunately, we have almost no photos, so you have to take our word for it.

3. Embankment of Sudak

The embankment of Sudak is very hot. In literally nearby, relaxing on the embankment is much more pleasant, the heat is not felt there. Even in sunny Montenegro we were much more comfortable. There are practically no shelters from the sun or benches. Probably, this was done on purpose to encourage vacationers to sit in restaurants or buy umbrellas on paid beaches.

But it's still nice to walk along the promenade. It is very wide, almost along its entire length there are unusual beautiful restaurants or boarding houses. On one side, the embankment ends, and on the other, a small market with souvenirs.

We stopped for lunch in a canteen next to the Soviet fountain (on the second photo). The prices were quite reasonable for a resort town and the food was quite edible. Given the high cost of Sudak - a pretty good option.

4. Beaches of Sudak

The beaches in Sudak are comfortable and sandy. Perhaps their only drawback can be considered very a large number of tourists. Some of the beaches are paid - there are fewer people on them, and beach delicacies vendors are not so annoying. There are usually so many people on free beaches that it becomes uncomfortable.

Rate the beaches of Sudak it is most convenient with the help of a small panorama from a pier protruding into the sea:

5. Nature

The nature around Sudak is very beautiful, but still it cannot be compared with beauty. Here the vegetation is scorched by the hot sun, there is much less greenery. We still recommend that you go to the New World and visit or. We promise that you will get a lot of unforgettable impressions.

6. The city itself

Pike perch in its own way beautiful city. Even moving quite far from the embankment, you can see something unusual and amazing. There is beautiful architecture, restaurants, cafes and boarding houses are very carefully decorated. There is a little lack of greenery, and the building density is much higher than we would like - the streets turned out to be narrow and winding. But this fact can also be turned to your advantage and "get lost a little."

In Sudak, you can additionally visit:

1. House of Adelaide Gertsyk - poet Silver Age and Dmitry Zhukovsky, scientist and publisher (built in 1915)
2. Winery - here, too, there are small excursions with tastings of local wines.
3. Cypress alley, planted at the beginning of the last century. It connects the city center with the waterfront.
4. Water park, which opened back in 2003. Quite good on the scale of the Crimea.
5. Monument "Hill of Glory" - a tribute to the underground and paratroopers who liberated the city during the Great Patriotic War.

Map of Sudak, a virtual walk around the city

If there is a desire take a virtual tour of the city, we have added for you a panorama that starts at the Genoese fortress. You can walk almost through the whole city:
