Do-it-yourself gazebo from pallets. How to build a simple gazebo from pallets without much effort Summer gazebo from pallets

The most popular object of a garden architect in the country is a gazebo. It is easy to build it with your own hands, and they use a variety of materials for this - from wood to polycarbonate. Pergolas from pallets for summer cottages are also a common solution.

A pallet is a type of container used for transporting and unloading goods. Its structure and dimensions are related to the features of the operation of the unloading equipment, and therefore the parameters of the box are strictly regulated.

Dimensions of 80 * 120 * 14.5 cm are considered standard. Finnish pallets are somewhat wider - 100 * 120 * 14.5 cm. The smallest euro pallets have a length and width of 80 * 60 cm. The height remains unchanged.

The pallet can be equipped with 2 sides or 4 - it depends on which unloader the box is adapted for. You can build a veranda from any kind.

  • Another nuance is the flooring device. For the most part, the boards in the flooring are located at some distance from each other, which is an advantage: moisture does not accumulate and ventilation is provided. However, there are also options with solid flooring. Sometimes such a model is more convenient for fencing.

Do-it-yourself pallet gazebo is assembled as a constructor: you just need to follow the step-by-step instructions and use sufficient fasteners.

Materials and tools

The main "raw materials" for the construction are pallets. You can buy them at any outlet or transportation company: it is much easier for the latter to sell used containers than to dispose of them. Pallets are purchased whole, as clean as possible, and only those used for the transport of light goods.

  • The amount of material depends on the size of the structure. Therefore, before buying, it is necessary to develop a project and calculate how many boxes will be required for implementation. At the same time, it is not the dimensions of the box that are adjusted - this is unprofitable and unprofitable, but the dimensions of the building. The latter should take into account the convenient location of the table and sofas, and maybe a deck chair. How to do this is clear: first calculate the dimensions of the furniture, and then calculate the area of \u200b\u200bthe veranda.
  • Beam - required for the frame and reinforcement of the structure. The cross section is calculated based on the size of the structure.
  • Roofing material - polycarbonate, tiles, tes.
  • Primers, wood paint or varnish.
  • Sander - the building has an impressive size, so manually sanding so many wooden boxes is unrealistic.
  • Electric drill and screwdriver.
  • Brushes, rollers, metal brush.
  • Self-tapping screws, screws, capercaillie screws and other types of fasteners.

Preparation of materials

The container is made of low-grade wood: only strength is important here, and not appearance or long service life. Therefore, before building a gazebo or veranda from the material, it is necessary to carry out some activities. The do-it-yourself pallet gazebo in the photo is painted in a light color.

  1. Pallets are cleaned of dirt, dust, suspicious damp spots and rot, if any. Use a metal brush. If necessary, wooden boxes are dried - 3-4 days in the shade at a temperature of 20-25 C.
  2. Products are carefully polished with a grinder.
  3. Wooden boxes are treated with an antiseptic primer or other compounds that can protect wood from rot, mold, bugs, and so on. The master class recommends impregnation with flame retardants to reduce the combustibility of the material.
  4. Pallets are painted or varnished in 2 layers. Before building a gazebo, as a rule, they paint or varnish with 1 layer, in order to then carry out the procedure again after the work is completed.

How to make a gazebo out of pallets

Step-by-step construction instructions include several steps. All of them are mandatory, but how they are implemented depends on the size and complexity of the project. Usually in the country they prefer not too large "transparent" structures, used only in the summer.

  1. Since the structure is quite large, before deciding how to make a gazebo from pallets, you need to choose a suitable foundation. Usually this is either the simplest columnar or tape shallow, since the container with large dimensions has a small weight. The easiest way is to fill the selected site with concrete. In this case, 2 tasks are solved at once: both the foundation is reliable and the floor is even. In the photo - the preparation of the foundation.
  2. The screed before construction is waterproofed with a film or roofing material.
  3. The frame is installed first. To do this, use a thick, durable beam, which is fixed to the concrete base with screws.
  4. The calculated number of pallets is placed on the site. The products are fastened together by 2 - they are bolted together or a wooden lining is used, and then fastened in large groups to the frame boards. The step-by-step instructions are very simple, you just need to follow the order.
  5. At the corners of the structure, support posts made of timber are installed. Fasten with grouse screws. The master class recommends duplicating the mount with metal corners. With a large area of \u200b\u200bthe gazebo, you need to install an additional central pillar.
  6. They fix the structure for the roof: its appearance depends on the chosen model. This, as a rule, is an ordinary pitched roof. In this case, the support pillars have different heights.
  7. Then the fence is filled: they are fixed to the support pillars and between the pallets installed vertically.
  8. Equip the floor and roof. For the floor, it is better to choose decking boards or use solid pallets. As a roof, ordinary boards with waterproofing or polycarbonate sheets are used.

From pallets, you can quickly build both sofas and tables, instead of building them out of wood. The pallet gazebo in the photo is equipped with a sofa and a pallet table.

  1. The structure is once again painted or varnished, as during the work the layer of paint and varnish is broken.

In the video, the construction of a gazebo from a pallet with your own hands is presented in all details.

As a building material, you can often use products that were originally intended for other purposes. Furniture that can be made from pallets is especially popular. It is installed not only in summer cottages, but also in apartments that are decorated in a loft style. Another interesting solution that can be implemented using pallets is a gazebo. It can be assembled in less than a day, and it will delight with its functionality for quite a long time. What is required for this will be discussed in the article.

General information

Pallets are a simple structure that is used to transport and store goods. Most often, it consists of two levels of boards, which are fixed to each other with special bars. There are several options for pallets. The only difference is the size between them.

The principle of assembly remains unchanged. One of the advantages of pallets for construction is that the wood dries well during operation, so it is convenient to use it in construction. In addition, pallets can often be obtained free of charge or for a small price, since in most cases they are simply thrown away or stored until better times.

You can get pallets yourself by assembling them from improvised materials. Great skill is not required for this task. It is important to be able to hold a hacksaw and a hammer or screwdriver in your hands. With self-assembly, dimensions can be customized to the desired without being tied to standards. You can buy ready-made pallets, for example, from transport companies.

Often, customers pay for pallets to transport goods, but do not pick them up from warehouses, so they will be happy to give them away. In some cases, companies are willing to give away pallets on the condition of self-collection, since collection and disposal require additional costs.

Project preparation

It's easier to create what you imagine well. If it concerns any building, then it is better to draw up its project and a detailed drawing, which will allow you to calculate the amount of material required. But it’s worth starting with the selection of a suitable area for the gazebo. It is good if the gazebo is located among the greenery, which will further decorate it.

It is easier to build a gazebo on a flat area than to prepare it or raise the level with a foundation. The selected site usually determines the size of the future gazebo, the dimensions are also affected by the number of people who will gather under its roof at the same time.

When the specific dimensions of the gazebo are selected, you can transfer them to the drawing. You can first sketch out a design project that will better allow you to imagine how exactly the gazebo from pallets will look like. The easiest way is to build an ordinary quadrangular structure, but you can also approach the matter with fantasy by creating an octagonal or hexagonal structure. This will require a lot of effort, but this version of the gazebo will look more attractive.

Material preparation

Not only the project needs preparation, but also the pallets from which the gazebo will be made. After all pallets have been delivered to the site, their condition must be carefully assessed. The first step is cleaning from dirt, because in industrial conditions, pallets are not kept clean. After a complete cleaning, it is easier to identify imperfections that can be eliminated by replacing several boards or simply fixing individual elements. In some cases, it will be necessary to assemble one from two pallets, so you should have a certain supply of material before starting construction. In accordance with the drawn up project, pallets are divided according to dimensions and parameters for a particular module. Sometimes a combination of several elements is required. If all this is done in advance, then the final assembly will be faster.

Since pallets are considered consumable, planed wood is not used for them. Arbor from it will look unattractive. This means that it must be further processed with a grinder. In some cases, it will be necessary to remove several layers of sandpaper of various grits in order to achieve a smooth surface. When the initial grinding is completed, it is necessary to give the pallets a certain fire resistance. This is done with special impregnations. After applying them, you must wait for complete drying. In the process, some of the fibers will rise and need to be sanded again. Someone prefers to paint pallets at this stage. But it is better to do this already on the finished structure, since some sections may be damaged during the installation process. It is easier to paint hard-to-reach places, and after construction, finish the front side.

Foundation laying

The gazebo, which will be assembled from pallets, is light in weight, so it does not require a strong foundation. Its design will largely depend on what type of soil is in a particular area. If the groundwater is at a sufficient level, and the soil is slightly prone to heaving, then the usual bedding of crushed stone and sand can be used as a foundation. To do this, a small depression is made over the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe gazebo, the bottom of which is rammed. A layer of sand and gravel is poured on top. Each should be 10 cm thick. They are leveled and also well rammed. The floor of the gazebo can be laid directly on the gravel. In addition to good support, rainwater will be quickly filtered if it falls under the gazebo.

Another option that will require less cost is a columnar foundation. The essence of the design lies in the fact that small holes are made in the places of key reference points and backfilling is performed, as in the previous version. After that, two solid blocks or several bricks are laid on the bedding. In order for the base to have greater strength, they can be fastened together with a sand-cement mortar. They must also be in the same plane so that the floor is even. Pallets are stacked on top of the blocks.

If the situation with the soil is not rosy, but you want to have a gazebo from pallets, then additional expenses for the foundation will be required. In this case, screw metal piles can be used. They are screwed to a depth where the soil has a high density, and they must be installed in increments of 1.5 meters for such a design. A wooden grillage is laid on top of the piles, which will tie all the elements together. Several piles should also be installed in the middle of the gazebo so that the floor along the entire plane is supported. In this case, the pallets are simply screwed to a wooden grillage, which is mounted on piles.

Another base option that can be used for a pallet gazebo is a slab foundation. Preparation for its construction is carried out in the same way as described for the first option, only the foundation pit in this case will require greater depth. Reinforcement is laid on crushed stone, which must be raised on special stands. From above, the reinforcement is poured with prepared concrete mortar, which is displayed in a horizontal level. The set of structural strength takes up to one month. Fixing wooden pallets to the slab is carried out with a gasket made of waterproofing material, which will prevent moisture from entering the wood.

Construction assembly

Assembling a gazebo from pallets begins with the floor. Pallets in this case can be stacked in one or two layers. If the pallets are to be stacked in two rows, then they must be assembled with interlocking seams. The space between the slats is filled with suitable boards. Another option is to use OSB sheets or moisture-resistant plywood that are screwed on top of the pallets so that the floor surface is solid. Pallets must be fixed to the foundation, as well as to each other.

The next step is the installation of the first row of pallets that will serve as walls. They must be fixed in level and firmly fastened with self-tapping screws to the base. If necessary, they can be cut to the required height.

For greater strength of the entire structure, pallets that are installed vertically must be interconnected along the entire length with an edged board. Additionally, you will also need a wooden beam with a cross section of 10 cm. It will act as support pillars on which the roof will rest, as well as the rest of the pallets fixed to the walls. The number of bars required will depend on the design of the roof and the material that will be used for it.

The end of the pallets should also be covered with a board so that no animals make their home under the floor. Such a move will also improve the appearance of the entire structure.

When all the vertical elements of the gazebo from pallets are installed, you can perform the top trim. To do this, you need a beam with a size of 10 by 15 cm. It fits on the end of the arbor pillars from pallets, and the individual elements are fixed to each other with a lock, as seen in the photo above. For reliable fastening, a hole is drilled through the connection and a self-tapping screw is screwed in, which can press the harness to the support post.

When the harness of the gazebo is ready, you can fix the wooden beams on it, which will serve as rafters. They will carry out the installation of the roofing flooring of the gazebo. If we are talking about the same polycarbonate as in the photo, then a powerful crate is not required, but for metal tiles or corrugated board, the crate must be made in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements in order to ensure sufficient resistance to various loads. If a soft roof is used, then the crate is made of solid board or sheet material, on which waterproofing is additionally laid. A video on assembling such a gazebo from pallets is below.

Summary

The final step is to paint the entire structure with varnish or a composition that matches the color. It is easy to decorate such a gazebo from pallets with flowers. They are easy to place at the end of the walls, because the pallets have gaps where flower pots are perfectly installed. At the same time, it is worth thinking about a container in which water will be collected after watering, so that the liquid does not have a destructive effect on the wood of the pallet. Places where screws or nails are driven into the pallets can be puttied to hide the notches. Next to the gazebo, you can plant climbing plants that will additionally decorate it with greenery.

A cozy corner for outdoor recreation is always convenient, practical and comfortable. However, the construction of a gazebo can cost a pretty penny. Building materials cost a lot, and you also need to buy a couple of comfortable sofas or a table. What to do? Of course, build your own.

In this article, we will talk about how to make a gazebo out of pallets. This is a cheap, and sometimes completely free, building material that no one needs. These gazebos are inexpensive, but you have to make a little effort. But the new gazebo will be a great occasion for another meeting with friends and, perhaps, will become a favorite corner in the summer cottage.

Advantages and disadvantages of pallets

Pallets made of wood will have the following advantages: environmental friendliness; the beauty; ease of processing.

IPPC-marked material should not be used for secondary use (as a gazebo), as it goes through some stages of chemical processing and may be unsafe.

However, do not rely on the fact that palletized products do not need to be looked after. In order for the pallets to serve longer, it is necessary every 3-5 years process special compositions against rotting, insects and refresh the top layer of varnish.

Pallet gazebo, out, open, easily breathable, but at the same time allows you to hide from direct sunlight.

Do-it-yourself pallets, purchased and used

What pallets are better to build from: new pallets from the store, used or do-it-yourself?

The most affordable option is pallets that have already been used, however, they may already have an unpleasant smell, some breakage, deterioration.

But, if you get a free pallet, you should take advantage of it! Pallets can be used in the construction of outbuildings, fences for flower beds, garden furniture and so on.

It is not recommended to use used pallets from warehouses, food stores, markets, for structures that are expected to be used regularly by a person, as such pallets may have persistent and pungent odor.

The best option for the price will be handmade pallets. First, we can speak with confidence about their quality. Secondly, this is a great opportunity to use high-quality boards so that the pallet rest building will stand in the country for as long as possible.

But if there is no time for such an activity as independent production of pallets, then always you can buy new in a store in any city.

How to extend the life of a gazebo from pallets in the country

In order for the gazebo from the pallet to serve as long as possible, you need to carry out some preliminary procedures with the material:

Pallet gazebo designs

Do-it-yourself pallet gazebo step by step

Before starting work, it is necessary to prepare all materials, drawings and tools. Installing a gazebo from pallets with your own hands will not take much time. A simple design will take no more than 1-2 days of work.

Configuration of the future design. The gazebo can be made entirely from whole pallets using metal or wooden supports.

Another mounting option involves the use solid pallets only for the base and roof, without involving the walls. Thus, the gazebo will protect from the sun, but what is happening inside the gazebo will always be in sight.

Third idea: pallets can be disassembled and are used as common building materials. In this case, the design can be absolutely anything.

To create a drawing of a gazebo, you need to know the dimensions of the pallets. Dimensions of a standard pallet: 120x80 cm. Using this knowledge, you can make a gazebo with a base 360x360 cm or 240x240 cm. So, there will be less scraps and the material will be used to the maximum.

Before erecting a gazebo, it is imperative that you familiarize yourself with all the specifics and dimensions in the drawing. When drawing up a drawing, consider furniture arrangement inside the pallet structure. If you plan to install a brazier, then you will need a considerable area, a special roof, a chimney and a metal sheet on the floor.

Preparing the building site

To proceed with the installation of the base of the gazebo from the pallet, you need to select a site and prepare it for the start of work. The entrance must be arranged from the south or southwest side.

A more reliable, but also the most costly, in terms of time, option would be strip foundation. Concrete piles (120 cm each) are mounted in such a foundation, and the first crown of a wooden beam or metal profile is placed on them.

Building a gazebo from pallets

If the gazebo is on piles, you should combine them with each other using wooden beams measuring 100x100 or a metal profile. Only after doing all this work with the frame, you can collect pallets or lay the floor.

Must be thoroughly handle pallets, which in the gazebo will serve as the floor, since they are most often exposed to external factors, wear and tear. The better the floor is processed, the longer the entire gazebo will last.

The frame for the gazebo from pallets is formed using wooden beams, and the walls can be from 1 or 3 rows of pallets. The assembly and installation of a gazebo from a pallet is quite quick and easy if you follow the conditions of the drawing and observe the level.

Wall panels are fastened using anchors, screws, screws or dowels. In order to connect the pallets to each other, you can use self-tapping screws or nails.

When the frame, walls and floor are ready, it's time to do the roofing. Pallets are not the best option for a roof. If after the completion of all work there are still unnecessary pallets, they can be dismantled and a crate made for any roof (slate, corrugated board, etc.).

You can create a frame for a gazebo from wooden beams measuring 50x50 cm. A good option for creating a roof can become a tarp. This material can be laid over the crate.

A shade canopy is also suitable, but if a crate is not previously created on the gazebo, then it will not be able to shelter from the rain. In winter, it is better to clean the canopy. To give an aesthetic appearance to the inside of the roof, you can sheathe it with plywood or chipboard.

Decorating gazebos from pallets

A pallet gazebo can be decorated with the following elements:

Other pallet ideas:

  • Garden swing;
  • fence;
  • children's house;
  • economic buildings.

A do-it-yourself pallet gazebo is a great idea for a summer house or a country house, for those who want to create an original design in their yard with minimal time. The pallet gazebo has become very popular option due to the simple design and ease of work with the material.

One of the most important processes after building a house in a summer cottage is the visual design of the territory. Some objects can perform not only an aesthetic function, but also be actively used. In particular, this applies to structures such as gazebos, which are designed for outdoor recreation.

Arbors from pallets: preparation

There are many types of projects of this type of structure. The structure can be built from various materials, but the cheapest and at the same time aesthetic option would be to use pallets or pallets. Before proceeding with the construction of the gazebo, you should prepare the material by carefully processing it:

  1. Pallets should be cleaned of dirt and plaque. It is necessary that the surface of the tree be perfectly clean - both walls and a roof will be built from these components.
  2. In addition, if the owner of the cottage plans to use the gazebo for many years, you need to process the pallets and pallets with your own hands using protective equipment. Properly selected liquid will protect the material from the occurrence of rot and the harmful effects of insects.
  3. If you plan to change the color of the gazebo, it is recommended to use a stain or a special paint designed to work with wood. Stain gives the material a special shade - with its help, the surface can be made lighter or, conversely, darker. In this case, the structure of the wood will be as clearly visible as before.

Construction process

The construction of a gazebo with your own hands begins with the installation of a base in the form of a pedestal, as seen in the photo. On this basis, the future structure will be located. The best option in this case may be already outdated boards that do not need to be thoroughly cleaned. At the same time, it is not at all necessary to build a very high base. Protection against rot of pallets placed at the very bottom will be provided by the platform on which the structure stands.

The next step is the installation of the frame, as shown in the video. The future view of the gazebo, built with your own hands in the country, depends on the design of the frame. The building is of several types:

  • solid;
  • from two walls;
  • made up of columns.

In the first case, the space inside the gazebo will receive very little sunlight. You can make several windows, but this will not significantly change the situation. Thanks to the second method, the room will be provided with daylight, as well as protection from rain. If the structure consists of columns, a magnificent view will open in all directions, however, in case of heavy slanting rain, the room will be flooded with water.

In order for the building to be reliably protected from the wind, it is recommended to install pallets or pallets in two or three layers. Wall and ceiling elements are nailed to the frame, after which they are already connected to each other. This option is the most suitable for those who want to build a reliable and durable gazebo in the country.

It is worth noting that in the third case, if the project provides for the presence of columns, pallets can be placed not only along relative to each other, but also across. It all depends on how the main elements of the building are located. It is necessary to attach pallets to the bearing parts.

After erecting the walls with your own hands, a crate is placed for the subsequent installation of the roof. Pallets as roofing material, as shown in the photo, can only be used if slate is additionally stuffed on top. It is also allowed to glue the roof surface with roofing felt, which will eliminate the possibility of leakage.

In cases where gazebos are designed only for the summer season, and will be dismantled with the onset of cold weather, only a partial crate can be installed. Additional protection is provided by fabric or other protective materials that cover the roof surface. As soon as autumn comes, the roof is easy to remove, and the remaining structure to be dismantled.

Room interior

Furniture, also constructed from pallets, is often placed in the gazebo. The most common are the designs of tables, coffee tables, etc. The material can be used not only as a tabletop, but also as legs, to which wheels can then be attached.

The finished table can be painted in the color of the room or simply varnished. In any case, the tree requires additional processing so that the piece of furniture does not deteriorate in the future. Sometimes the wooden surface is replaced with durable glass, which gives more modernity to the interior. At the same time, the legs can be made not ordinary, rectangular in shape, but also figured. Thanks to the height adjustment of the legs, a small coffee table can be turned into a full-fledged table, and thus the gazebo can be used as a small dining room.

The gazebo room can be turned into a small outdoor bedroom. If the weather is good, then at any time you can take out the bed and put it on the bed. However, for this it is necessary to build a structure, which is shown in the photo. A more complex option is a corner sofa, but it is assembled and installed in an ordinary house. To assemble the bed, it is only necessary to place the pallets on top of each other in several layers. They are connected to each other by means of bolts. As a result, the design is quite stable, as well as easily disassembled. It should be noted that any furniture in the gazebo is recommended to be placed if the tree is carefully protected from the negative effects of the external environment.

Wooden pallets for transporting pallets with all kinds of goods have long been of great interest to summer residents and people living in the private sector. And this is not surprising - after all, in skillful hands, these products turn into a full-fledged building material. The cost of such used pallets is simply ridiculous, but it happens that they are generally given away for free. What of them just do not design: and garden houses, and fences, and arbors of various styles. Everything is limited only by the flight of fancy and the desire to sculpt something in your suburban area.

Almost every summer cottage has a gazebo, and the variety of such buildings is simply huge. There are both small and large, different shapes and design options. Someone orders ready-made structures, and someone builds himself from existing materials.

But it all depends on the budget, and if there is no money to build a gazebo from classic building materials, then it is quite possible to use alternative and very inexpensive materials, for example, wooden pallets.

What pallets are suitable for building a gazebo?

There are several types that differ in the quality of the material and dimensions. With thick curved boards, on which brick and cement are usually transported, they are only suitable for firewood, and varieties with thinner planks are just what you need. Particularly popular for parsing into Euro-pallet material. It is of very good quality, but it has its drawbacks: this concerns its disassembly. Often, ruffed nails are used here, which are not so easy to pull out. A nail puller will not help here, but pulling out brushes with a hammer with a small hatchet will not be difficult.

What types and sizes of pallets exist:

  • standard- 1200x1000x140 mm;
  • euro pallets- 800x600x140 mm;
  • euro pallets- 800x600x140 mm;
  • increased euros- 1200x1200x140 mm;
  • thickness may vary in amplitude from 120 to 144 mm.

Preparatory work

First of all, you need to draw up a plan and drawing, what kind of gazebo will be, what size and what shape. Where will the garden furniture be located, and what dimensions will it be? Calculate how much and what material will be needed, purchase everything you need.

There are a lot of self-tapping screws, so it’s better to buy them with a margin, they won’t be superfluous on the farm.

Pallets purchased for construction must be prepared:

  • Inspect for damage, test for strength, then select the best. The rest can be disassembled into boards.
  • Clean off dirt and debris.
  • Pallets and individual boards from parsing must be processed with a grinder.
  • Wood needs protection from moisture, fungus and pests. To do this, it must be treated with a special antiseptic solution. If this is not done, the tree will darken and acquire a not very beautiful gray color, and will also rot.
  • It is better to paint the wood immediately, and not after the gazebo is ready. Waterproof wood paint will do, and if you want to keep the natural wood color, you can use wood stain. After staining, it is desirable to cover with waterproof varnish.

The better the wood is processed, the longer the structure will retain its beautiful appearance. Prepare the right tool. Clear the place where the gazebo is planned to be built from debris, shrubs and tall grass.

What tools will be needed:

  • saw;
  • hammer;
  • axe;
  • grinder;
  • jigsaw;
  • screwdriver;
  • drill and drills;
  • brushes;
  • roulette;
  • level;
  • pencil.

It is better to use a power tool, it will save energy and greatly facilitate and speed up the work.

Construction works

The construction of the gazebo is divided into several stages:

  1. foundation;
  2. frame installation;
  3. wall cladding;
  4. roof;
  5. painting and decoration;
  6. decor.

Foundation

In order for the gazebo to serve for many years, it is necessary to make a foundation of the right size. If the soil is not very swampy, and the area of \u200b\u200bthe building is small, then you can simply set up concrete blocks 200x200x400 mm.

When constructing a more permanent structure on problematic soil, it is better to fill in a shallow tape.

One of the popular foundation laying technologies is pile, which is divided into two types. In total there can be three options for the bases for the gazebo.

Concrete piles

It is not very difficult to make such supports for the future structure, but it will take some time for the cement mortar to set.

First, holes are dug 20x20 cm and 50 cm deep. Then formwork is placed in them from roofing material, scraps of boards or suitable material, which is not a pity. Reinforcement is driven into the bottom of each hole, about 50 cm. Then the formwork is poured with concrete. Such piles should have a height of about 30 cm from the zero level.. After pouring the solution, you need to wait a while until the mixture completely hardens.

Screw piles

A fairly new way of building foundations, which has proven itself well on clay and swampy soils. Everything is simple here. Piles of the right size are bought, it remains just to screw them into the ground and screw or weld the heads to them.

Shallow Tape

For loose soils and arbors of a large area, it is necessary to fill in the tape. For the device of this type of foundation around the perimeter, it is necessary to dig a trench 50 centimeters deep and install formwork from boards along its edges. Further, a structure is made in the trench from the reinforcement and concrete mixed with medium-sized stones is poured.

Concrete screed must be watered from time to time during the week. The time of complete solidification of such a tape is about a month.

When constructing any type of foundation, it is necessary to use a level, and the perimeter must be marked with a thread attached to pegs. This will prevent uneven position of the structure.

frame

First, along the perimeter of the foundation, the base frame of the timber is mounted and attached to the foundation with anchors. It should be made from the highest quality materials, since the highest load is on the floor. Next, you need to fasten the beams with strapping.

Then vertical supports are mounted, which are fastened on top with a transverse coupler with boards and timber. Do not use nails to mount the frame because the structure will loosen over time. Self-tapping screws are considered more reliable fasteners., and you will also need other hardware, such as anchors and corners of various types.

wall cladding

Wall cladding can be done in several variations:

  1. The easiest option is completely open walls. The design provides only a roof and floor, but no walls. But such a structure will not protect from the wind, so it is not particularly popular.
  2. Pallets are mounted in two rows in such a way that the second row does not transmit light that passes through the slots of the first layer. With this method of arranging the walls, three sides are deaf, and only the front of the building remains open. This option is suitable for those who love shade and darkness.
  3. Only the back wall is sewn up, and railings with a height of 800-1200 mm pass along the sides, depending on the position of the pallets. So, if installed horizontally, then the height will be 800 mm, and with vertical installation - 120 mm. When arranging such railings, pallets are first attached to the base, then they are evenly pulled together with each other.

Roof

The roof can be made of several types: single-pitched, gable or four-pitched in the shape of a pyramid. Which one to do depends on the design of the gazebo and on personal wishes.

For the crate, 50x50 mm bars and planks are used. All this can be taken again from pallets.

Painting and decoration

After the gazebo is ready, it needs to be given a beautiful appearance. Paint in the desired color. If the pallets and boards were painted at the preparatory stage, then it remains to finish painting what is not painted, for example, vertical supports.

If there is such a skill as wood carving, you can decorate the walls with a variety of patterns, but this must be done before painting and treating with an antiseptic. A blowtorch is also used, the wood is slightly burned with its flame, which gives its structure a non-uniform, slightly burnt shade, and then covered with stain and varnish. It looks very impressive. But this procedure can only be carried out on a clean tree, while it has not yet been processed by anything from chemistry.

Decor

To give comfort and beauty to the built gazebo, you can use many techniques. In the cavities of pallets, you can make flower beds, mount beautiful lanterns in such a way that soft, unobtrusive light comes from the clearings. It looks very bewitching, as if the walls are illuminated from the inside, while the lighting devices themselves are not visible.

If there is a brazier, you can decorate it with heat-resistant tiles or stones, hang small paintings and other interior items, and make LED lighting around the perimeter of the gables. Open spaces can be closed with a camouflage net, and even better, plant grapes around the gazebo. When the vine grows, it will not only look beautiful, but also cover with its shadow from the sun.

The decor elements necessarily include furniture, without which the gazebo will seem like just a canopy from rain or sun. First of all, you need a table and seats.

You can, of course, use standard furniture that is no longer needed at home, but there is an option to make the so-called garden furniture from the same pallets. They make beautiful tables, benches and even chic corner sofas that just need to be covered and pillows arranged.
