Ecologists study animals and plants. 2017 has been declared the Year of the Environment in Russia. Our relay today will also be dedicated to this. Today we will talk about the laws of nature, the habits of animals, how a person can save nature, and also consolidate the skills of relay running.

We all know that humans walk on two legs. How do animals and insects move? There are many options here: on two, four, six or more limbs, jumping and crawling, back to front and sideways ...

1. Kangaroo with a cub.

Kangaroo is a marsupial that lives in Australia. Their distinguishing feature is excellent jumping ability. Thanks to its strong paws, the kangaroo makes very long jumps, even if there is a cub in its bag located on its stomach.

For the relay, each team needs: a medium-sized bag (you can use a backpack or even an ordinary bag), a volleyball and a rope. The participants starting the relay are tied bags at the waist level and given a ball each. On a signal, they put the ball in their bag and jump, reminiscent of kangaroo jumps, overcoming the distance. It is strictly forbidden to hold the “bag with the cub” with your hands, while during the movement the “baby” should in no case fall out of the bag. Returning to the start line, he passes all the attributes to the next participant, who in the same way overcomes the same path.

2. Penguin.

Penguins live in Antarctica. These beautiful, graceful birds do not know how to fly, but they swim beautifully and walk very funny. Remember their graceful waddle gait? They have another interesting feature: they manage to carry their only hatched cubs between their paws.

For the relay we need only two tennis balls. The task of the participant is to hold the ball between the knees or ankles, carry it to the turning mark and back. At the same time, you can’t jump, run - you have to waddle, imitating the gait of a penguin. Maybe you can move faster than the penguins? Watch out, don't drop the ball!

3. Turtle Traveler

Everyone knows that the turtle is a very slow animal. But try to move fast when you have a real shell house on your back! And yet, turtles, traveling through the desert, travel long distances.

For this relay, each team will need a basin (metal or plastic). The first participant gets on all fours, a pelvis is placed on his back upside down - it turned out to be a "turtle". Now she must go all the way to the turn and back without losing her shell-pelvis: after all, losing it is tantamount to death for the turtle. Since the pelvis is not fixed in any way, and it is impossible to hold it with your hand, you need to move very carefully and, therefore, slowly, like a turtle. When the first "turtle" crawls back, the "shell" is removed from it and placed on the back of the next participant.

4. Cancer fleeing danger.

Unfortunately, today it is difficult to meet crayfish in our reservoirs: they need clean, running water to live. Still, I hope everyone knows what cancer looks like. Let me remind you of one interesting feature of its behavior: fleeing from danger, the crayfish backs up, putting its tail forward and holding claws ready for defense. He runs quite fast though.

The first participant gets on all fours facing his team, and on a signal begins to move backwards to the turning point, turns around and returns in the same way, passing the baton to the next participant (who takes the starting position in advance). The relay continues until all participants have done so.

5. Nimble monkeys

You have all seen how deftly some monkeys climb trees, jump from branch to branch, from tree to tree, using creepers very cool, clinging to them with all their limbs, and sometimes with their tail.

For the relay race, ropes or long ropes are needed - these are “lianas”. The rope must be laid on the ground along the entire length of the track from the start line to the turning point. Participants will have to overcome the way back and forth on the "four limbs", that is, stepping on the rope with their feet and holding on to it with their hands. Of course, there is a danger of crushing your own fingers, but the monkeys are so dexterous and are not afraid of any difficulties!

6. Snake

The snake has no legs, therefore it cannot walk or run. The snake crawls gracefully, silently and quickly, while bending with its whole body, smoothly bending around the obstacles encountered.

For the relay, 5-7 chairs will be required, which must be placed along the line of motion. The team lines up. Putting their hands on the shoulders of those in front, everyone squats - the snake is ready to move. The task of the team is to overcome the path to the turning point and back, avoiding obstacles (chairs) without hitting them. It is important not to disengage on the way and not stand up to your full height: otherwise you will get a “snake with legs” or a “torn snake”, this does not happen in nature.

7. Get ready for the road.
