Make marks on the workpiece and cut out a square (say, 9 cm).

Now inside the square we draw an equilateral triangle. To do this, divide one of the sides of our square in half and draw two 9 cm segments from this point, and then connect the ends.

Then divide each side of the triangle exactly in half and make serifs. Connect each notch to the opposite vertex. The intersection point of these segments (they are called medians) is the center of the spinner, in which we will place the bearing. Outline it with a pencil.

On the same segments, make notches at a distance of 2.5 cm from each vertex. Place a coin in the center of each of them (a hole is needed to align the hole with the serif and not go astray) and circle it with a pencil.

Using an awl or a sharp knife, dig holes inside the traced outlines. And then loosen them to cut even holes. You can press the bearing and the coin into the workpiece (but carefully so that the glued layers do not separate).

Cut out a triangle from the workpiece. Now we make two-centimeter serifs in the center of each of its sides. Like this:

The notch height at the median is 7 mm. Cut out these side triangles.

Step 3: Polishing

We take sandpaper and sand the surface of the future spinner. We walk around the edges. We paint the workpiece on both sides and leave to dry.

Step 4: Loads

We glue four coins together. We will have 3 stacks that we will insert into our holes in the spinner. Place the bearing in the center.

Using a jigsaw, cut the workpiece along the contour. At this stage, the main thing is to carefully cut out the concave surfaces, because in the future it is the most difficult to process. To increase the moment of inertia, it is necessary to provide weights. The simplest option is coins glued to each other. For 10 mm plywood, eight ten-kopeck coins must be glued together. Since the two outer coins will be decorated, for now we are making weights from six coins. We level the inner surfaces of the workpiece with a drill. The outer surfaces are carefully and quickly brought to the contour with a grinder with a grinding wheel. All remaining irregularities are removed manually with sandpaper.

Mark and drill center holes. With a feather on a tree, we drill a hole for the bearing and weights. I used 608 with an outer diameter of 22 millimeters, so the central hole is drilled with a pen of 20 millimeters. And the diameter of a ten-kopeck coin is 17.4 millimeters, so the outer holes are drilled with a pen with a diameter of 16 millimeters. In order not to damage the outer layer, it is necessary to drill a hole to the middle, and continue to unfold the workpiece from the other side.

Bearing, you can use any. We bring all the holes to the required diameters with a drill. The main thing is that there should be an interference fit, otherwise you will have to glue it. The holes for the weights must be made so that the coins pass through them with ease. To facilitate the design, we will remove the rounding radii around the entire perimeter of the workpiece.

I did not foresee the moment in advance, so I had to draw the borders manually. In the new version of the drawing, the defect has already been fixed. If someone wants to make his “spinner” even lighter, then you can cut the workpiece exactly along this contour.

Having completely finished with grinding, we proceed to puttying the toy. It is necessary to cover the part with putty in order to completely hide all the irregularities, and also so that after painting it is not clear what the spinner is made of. While the putty dries, prepare the top coins for painting.

Gently, so as not to tear off the skin from the fingers, we grind the top layer from six coins. The easiest way is from the side of denominations. With the same success, you can half-clamp the coins in a vise and go through them with a file, and turn them over and go through again. In two layers, paint the coins with a yellow spray, between the layers we let the paint dry a little. When the putty dries, we grind the unnecessary layer with fine-grained sandpaper. Also, it is necessary to remove all the putty from the surface of the holes, otherwise, when pressing the bearings and coins, it will fall off and an unpainted layer is visible. Having completely processed the part, we cover it in two layers with black spray paint. After all the parts have dried, proceed to the assembly.

On the one hand, we insert three decorative coins into the body of the toy. On the other hand, we apply superglue and press in the weighting agents. Make sure that the first coin does not fly out, otherwise you can stain the case with glue, scratch it. We apply more superglue and press in the remaining coins, hold the coins on the other side. Before installing the bearing in its place, we insert a wooden chop for holders into its inner hole. The chopstick should fit snugly and protrude from the body by 1 millimeter on each side. We press into the nest. In principle, the spinner is ready and works great.

But you need something to hide the bearing. The master made such plastic medallions a long time ago. I wanted to make a rosary out of them, but I could not drill holes. Let's make holders out of them. Detach the yellow lining from the two medallions on one side and glue to the chop. If you want to do something similar, you can cut two disks out of plywood.
