Hallway dimensions diagram. DIY small hallway design

The hallway will be inferior if it does not have a solid spacious closet. It is not necessary to buy it at all, since the manufacturing process is quite simple.

Spacious closet in the hallway niche

The advantages of this option:

  • you can choose any project that is most suitable for the hallway in terms of style and parameters;
  • designers will not have to pay for the development of an individual project;
  • material costs are minimal.

The main thing is that the furniture in the hallway should be roomy, compact, neat, not pretentious.

Details to consider when designing.

  • must be exact dimensions;
  • the presence of a crossbar to accommodate the hangers;
  • hooks for clothes for every day;
  • one or more shelves for hats;
  • cabinet for storing shoes.
  • mirror;
  • small drawers for small items (gloves, scarves, etc.).

Furniture fittings for the wardrobe in the hallway

To assemble a wardrobe in the hallway with your own hands, the following tools and accessories are prepared in advance:

  • guides for installing boxes;
  • tires, if a "coupe" with a sliding system is conceived;
  • hinges and handles for doors;
  • clothes hooks;
  • the number of nails, screws, self-tapping screws calculated in accordance with the project;
  • wooden fasteners are also needed: confirmations, dowels for furniture assembly;
  • furniture corners (metal, plastic) and plugs;
  • you can not do without a standard set of tools (a screwdriver, a drill, an electric jigsaw, a saw for wood, a key for furniture confirmations, a mallet, a clamp, a square and a building level).

It is better to take inexpensive materials that are easy to process. For example, even experienced manufacturers will not undertake to make furniture from solid wood.

  • Chipboard is the most acceptable option for a future DIY product. This material is easy to cut, process. The building material weighs a little, so it does not need reinforced fasteners or fittings. An important fact is the low cost.

  • Plywood is a light, durable and denser material that can be used to make curly details, as well as welt patterns.

    Spacious eco-friendly plywood wardrobe

  • MDF can be subjected to various types of processing (painting, tinting, staining, etc.). It is less durable than plywood.

  • Drywall for interior space equipment with built-in niches.

The most responsible approach is to take measurements. If a miscalculation is allowed, all subsequent work will be difficult or nothing will work out at all. There are various ready-made options with suitable sizes. If the finished drawings are not suitable, and the drawing skills are weak, you need to attract a specialist for this stage, who will think over the project with the right dimensions. Cutting materials and edging the end parts is better in a store that sells building material. Store services are inexpensive, but it saves a lot of time.

Assembling the wardrobe

This model belongs to the built-in ones, it is easier to manufacture, since the parts do not need to be calculated and cut out. The complexity of this option is that it is necessary to take into account the features of walls and floors.

The ideal solution for such furniture would be a niche with a sliding system, equipped with several shelves, a crossbar for hangers. The installation of the wings in this case is the same as for the interior doors (the wall and the floor are involved).

Very often, a closet is made in the corner of the room. This model does not have one side and back wall (and in some cases there is no floor and ceiling).

The base consists of a wooden frame, which consists of a pair of frames (front and side), assembled on self-tapping screws or nails. If the project provides for the arrangement of shelves and partitions, cross rails must be fixed to the frames in the designated places.

Instruction

Mark the walls, floor, ceiling in places where the frame will be installed, drill holes for the fasteners. It is recommended to mark the places of the paper clip as well.

We make markings for shelves, install corners

Fasten the front frame to the wall and ceiling with dowels. Check its verticality using a level.

We lay and fasten the shelves on the corners, install the vertical panel to the shelves inside the cabinet

Install the side frame.

In the resulting niche, wooden slats are attached to the walls, designed for shelves (cut shelves from plywood or chipboard). You can not fix the shelves by laying them on the slats or fix them with nails.

On top of our construction, we lay a horizontal shelf according to the level

The side is sheathed with drywall or laminated chipboard. Drywall is pasted over or painted. The side part, in which the crossbar with hangers will be located, must be strong (chipboard, plywood, but not drywall).

We prepare panels for the front side of the cabinet

Attaching the bottom and top panels

The final stage is the installation of sliding doors. Top and bottom rails are mounted respectively on the ceiling and on the floor.

Installing door rails

Here it is very important to observe the exact dimensions. First, they try to install the layout of the future door. Take any part whose height is the same as that of the door and install it inside the top rail. Check the verticality value and mark the area where the lower guide will be attached. The door must first be inserted by slightly pressing on the upper rollers, and then into the lower tire. To adjust the position of the door leaf, adjusting screws are used. A properly installed door moves smoothly, without hindrance.

We insert the doors into the guides, snap the latches and adjust the mechanisms in the roller systems

The above example is suitable for a simple small size structure consisting of two halves. With a good hallway area, it is possible to manufacture a more spacious model. Then the frame of the bars will not work. It is better to make a base from chipboard, and “fasten” its elements with the help of a common floor and ceiling. This method will allow you to place in a niche, in addition to shelves and a bar for hangers, also boxes for small items and other details.

Such a product will be assembled as a designer for dowels and confirmations. For this fitting, you must first drill holes. All this must be done very carefully and patiently. All fasteners for corners are kept in a clamp for a day.

Built-in two-door wardrobe in the hallway

Corner cabinet assembly

It will be easy to make a corner module with your own hands. For stability, modules are often made of durable solid materials (chipboard, plywood). These products come in several forms:

  • triangle;
  • L-shaped;
  • trapeze;
  • five-walled.

Basic configurations of corner cabinets

The most suitable for the hallway is five-walled.

Shoe cabinet assembly

Convenient do-it-yourself shoe rack

This is the easiest process, because everything that is needed in the work is sold by the building materials store.

The design includes: an outer frame, several shelves with partitions. The width of the structure depends on the maximum shoe size, and the height depends on the number of shelves.

Addition of facades and clearances of cabinets for shoes

A good solution would be to combine a shoe cabinet with dresser elements. Or place it in a closet or corner wardrobe, which have open facades.

There is a lot of information on the Internet about how to make a closet in the hallway with your own hands. Therefore, by examining all the available data, the most suitable model can be successfully constructed.

Video: Wardrobe in the hallway, do it yourself

The first thing that guests who enter the house see is, of course, the entrance hall. It can be safely called the "calling card" of the apartment. Therefore, the hallway in the house should be not only beautiful, but also comfortable. For this, various furniture is placed here. In particular, there is often a wardrobe, a hanger, a mirror, a cabinet for shoes and a chest of drawers. In addition, it will not be superfluous to put furniture for sitting here. It can be a bench, a sofa, an ottoman. In general, how the entrance hall will be equipped depends not only on the size of the room, but also on the owner himself. Next, we will tell you how to make a hallway with your own hands.

With a small size of the hallway, it will be more convenient to choose a few medium-sized items. It can be a shelf for hats, a nightstand for shoes, a small mirror and a hanger. In a small square-shaped corridor, a set of cabinet furniture will look good, which consists of a cabinet for shoes, a chest of drawers with a mirror and a wardrobe. In large rooms, you can place almost any furniture. In general, there are a lot of options for hallways.

As a closet for the hallway, perhaps the best fit wardrobe, which is distinguished by functionality and spaciousness. It can be placed even in a small room. It can store not only outerwear, but also hats, shoes and various accessories. For very small rooms, it is best to install built-in wardrobes. With the help of them you can save space and fit in one place all the shelves and hangers you need for clothes.

You can use cabinets with a door, but they require more space in the room. They may have one or two wings. By the way, sashes are usually equipped with various useful devices. It can be a compartment for storing gloves, an umbrella stand, small shelves. In any hallway often put a mirror. And most often it is large enough so that a person can see himself in full growth. In addition, this piece of furniture allows you to visually make the space wider. There are three main mirror designs for the hallway. So, it can simply hang on the wall, be framed or built into the cabinet doors.

Every hallway needs a shoe rack. As it, you can use a galoshka with built-in or open shelves or a simple cabinet. It is usually equipped with hinged, folding or sliding doors. Height is both high and low. The most convenient option can be called a bedside table, which consists of several sections located one above the other. The shoe rack in it is located inside on the doors.

The following requirements are imposed on the closet in the hallway:

  1. Compact dimensions.
  2. Has a hanger bar.
  3. Special shelf for hats.
  4. The presence of a hook-hanger, from which it is convenient to take everyday clothes.
  5. The presence of a bedside table for shoes.
  6. Full length mirror.

We equip the hallway with our own hands

Single-leaf pedestal

Work order:

  1. The production of such a piece of furniture should begin with the fact that markings are made on boards sized 1700x400x18 and the sidewall is cut out. Then a shelf for a niche and a bottom are cut out. After that, you should make a front bar, which is then fixed under the bottom.
  2. When the blanks are cut, holes should be made in each of them. Furniture dowels will be fixed to them. Choose your own mounting locations. By the way, if there is a plinth in your hallway, then so that the cabinet does not rest against it, you should cut out a part on its sides below that matches the dimensions of these plinths in size. Thus, the nightstand will stand close to the wall.
  3. Now you can cut the door. To do this, it is best to take the same board that was used for the cabinet itself. Then, to secure the loops, you need to make holes. As loops, it is better to choose those that allow the door to close flush with the frame. Hinges that will move the door to the side when closing are best not to take.
  4. Next, coat the dowels and holes for them with glue. Then you can install them in place and start assembling the frame. When this is done, secure it with self-tapping screws. Then you can install the door in place.
  5. Now you can start making the skids on which the drawers will be installed. They will occupy the entire width of the side. To make the skids, take a sheet of plywood and cut two pieces about 16mm wide. After that, they should be fixed inside the side of the cabinet in the place where the bottom of the drawer will be located.
  6. When the skids are in place, you can begin to manufacture the box itself. It is recommended to start with the construction of the bottom, which is cut out of plywood.
  7. Then two side and one back wall should be made from boards. When they are cut, they are screwed to the bottom with self-tapping screws. To avoid the appearance of cracks in plywood, before screwing in the screws, you should drill holes in it. It remains to make the front of the box, which is installed at the very end of the work.
  8. Finally, cut out the lid of the nightstand and attach it with furniture piping.

Double cabinet

The manufacture of such a bedside table is in many ways similar to the process of manufacturing a single-door cabinet. The frame blank is also first marked and sawn out. On the sides, cuts should be made that will allow the cabinet to stand close to the wall. Next, you need to make a plank of plywood and a shelf. In size, they are the same as in a single cabinet.

The bedside table usually has two compartments. One of them is about a quarter of the size of the structure in width, and in height it is the same as the height of the entire pedestal. The second branch occupies the remainder. At the same time, it is divided into two more parts using a horizontal shelf.

Now the nightstand can be assembled by gluing and pre-installing dowels. After that, it must be fastened with self-tapping screws. It remains to cut and install the doors in place.

Hanger wall

To make this piece of furniture, you will need several boards. The production variant with two blocks is described below:

  1. First, the boards are placed on a plane, while there should be a small distance between them. From above, they should be fastened with a rail placed at the height at which the hooks are supposed to be fixed.
  2. After that, you can start making a shelf for hats, the dimensions of which depend on the dimensions of the wall obtained.
  3. The finished shelf is fastened with self-tapping screws. In addition, stiffeners should be placed on each of the two sides.
  4. Finally, lean the finished wall against the place on the wall where it was planned to fix it. At the same time, note how much the boards will need to be cut so that the structure is flush with the cabinet. It remains to shorten the wall to the desired size, and it is ready for use.

Pencil case for the hallway

It is not difficult to make such a piece of furniture. To do this, you need a furniture board, from which you should cut out a wall, a bottom, a front plate, a cover and two back walls (if necessary, a part under the plinth is cut out on them). This is necessary so that the cabinet stands close to the wall.

Work order:

  1. When all the parts are ready, you can assemble the frame. To do this, as in previous cases, you first need to coat the dowels and holes for them with special furniture glue. After that, it is recommended to install them in place and assemble the frame, securing it with self-tapping screws.
  2. Now you need to cut out two sashes, on each of which you need to make holes for attaching three loops.
  3. Next, you should decide how many shelves there will be in the closet. On the sidewalls inside the product, install the fasteners at the appropriate level.
  4. When the shelves are sawn, they can be placed in the right place. Finally, you can install the sash.

Wardrobe for a small hallway

Below is an example of assembling a cabinet that can be placed even in the hallway of a small "Khrushchev". There will be a gap at the bottom of the structure, which is obtained due to the installation of furniture legs 55 mm high. They will be attached to the cabinet with 4x16 self-tapping screws. That's all there is to say about these supports. Next, the assembly of the cabinet body itself will be considered. Let's start with the dimensions of the parts.

In the manufacture of a wardrobe for the hallway as a material, you can use:

  1. Laminated by a chipboard 18 mm thick.
  2. Painted hardboard.
  3. Melamine edge with 0.6 mm adhesive backing.

The manufacturing process of the facade will not be considered here. It is envisaged that a custom version will be used, consisting of an aluminum frame with a sample for three hinges, and a mirror is inserted into this frame.

By the way, you can build a simpler version, which is also cheaper. So, a mirror is glued onto a sheet of chipboard with the help of special glue. It turns out the facade, which will be more massive and heavier than the previous version. In this case, it will require at least 4 loops. In addition, the cabinet itself will need to be attached to the wall for reliability. Otherwise, it may simply collapse when opening the doors. Therefore, decide for yourself which facade is preferable for you.

You will need the following chipboard sheets to assemble the structure:

  • For the top cover of the shoe cabinet: 1 pc. size 390x460 mm.
  • For the top and bottom of the whole structure: 2 pcs. size 990x480 mm.
  • For the shelf of the open part: 1 pc. size 380x390 mm.
  • Heel of the open part: 1 pc. size 2110x390 mm.
  • For the sidewall of the structure: 2 pcs. size 2110x460 mm.
  • Sidewalls of the nightstand: 1 pc. size 400x440 mm.
  • For wardrobe shelves. 1 PC. size 570x430 mm.
  • Cupboard door: 1 pc. size 400x365 mm.
  • For the manufacture of the rear wall of the structure, you will need 1 pc. size 2030x600 mm.

Before making a closet for the hallway, you should make sure that when installed in place, it will not cover sockets, switches, and other similar places. The design itself is easy to assemble. To do this, you will need the following tools:

  1. Powerful screwdriver.
  2. Several wood drills.
  3. A set of fasteners (among them there should be a hexagon for confirmations).
  4. Pencil.
  5. Measurement line.
  6. A hammer.

In addition, you will need the following specialized fittings:

  1. Retractable bar 410 mm long. It is attached to the shelf in the structure from below. Hangers are hung at the level of the front.
  2. Internal four-hinged furniture hinges in the amount of 6 pieces (2 pieces for a shoe cabinet and 4 pieces for a large door).
  3. Hooks and handles. Suitable for design. There are quite a few options. The choice is up to you.

To prevent the fasteners from matching, the shelf inside the cabinet should be placed 35 mm higher than the open part.

Screeds are made for confirmations. Under them, you first need to drill both into the end face of the part and into the plane. Standard furniture fasteners are 5 by 73 mm. Holes in the plane should be 8.5 mm in diameter and at the same time through. All markup is done depending on the number of design details. They may well be sidewalls, facades or the back of the open part.

Hardboard can be fixed with self-tapping screws or nailed. The first method is more suitable if you have free time. The second should be used if there is not much time. The most important thing in both cases is to observe the rectangularity of the structure. Otherwise, the facades will turn out to be outwardly unattractive. In addition, they will not be able to close normally. The above recommendations on how to make a hallway are actually nothing more than an example. You yourself have the right to decide what and how to design. This applies not only to the quantity and composition of materials, but also to other aspects.

The entrance hall creates the first impression of the interior of the house, it should have a beautiful design, be comfortable. It contains furniture for various purposes: a wardrobe, a mirror, a bedside table, a hanger, a chest of drawers. It is also a good idea to place seating furniture: a bench, an armchair, they will complement the design. So, a do-it-yourself entrance hall allows you to choose any design as in the photo that the owner of the house wishes.

When creating a hallway, you can use drawings, diagrams, photos that can be found on the Internet or create your own drawings. Creating furniture will be easier if you use blueprints. The design of the hallway is not the last place in the interior of the whole house. Wood furniture photo will look good. Complement the design with wooden floors or laminate.

It is quite possible to create any of the elements of the hallway with your own hands.

Cabinet with one sash

Manufacturing steps:

  • work begins with the preparation of a canvas measuring 1700x400x18. Marking is applied to it, the side part is cut out. The next element is the shelf, the bottom. Next, work on the front side, which is attached under the bottom of the photo;
  • when everything is ready, holes are cut out to which dowels for furniture are attached. Places for cutting out are chosen at your discretion. If the lining is made with a plinth, then a place is cut out on the back so that the sawn part fits snugly to it;
  • we turn to sawing the door: it is better to use the material from which the frame is made. Cut holes for hinges. It is better to choose hinges with which the door closes at the level of the cabinet base. Hinges, during the installation of which the door is displaced from the base, it is better not to take;
  • the next step is to coat the dowels and holes with glue. Then the dowels are installed in the holes and the frame is glued together. When the parts are fully assembled, it must be fixed with self-tapping screws. Only after attach the door;
  • we cut out the skids, drawers are installed on them. They are located in the entire width of the side wall. To make the skids, you need a sheet of plywood from which you need to cut two canvases about 16 mm wide. When the runners are ready, they are attached inside, where the bottom of the drawer is located;
  • after the skids are installed, you can proceed to the creation of the photo drawer itself. We cut out the bottom, which is made of plywood;
  • from the boards we cut out the back wall, two sides. After they are made, we fasten the walls with self-tapping screws to the bottom.

To prevent cracks in plywood, holes must be made before screwing in the screws. It remains to make only the front of the drawer. We make the upper part, the lid and fasten it to the body with furniture edges.

Double cabinet made of wood

The manufacturing process of a bedside table with two doors is similar to a single door bedside table. First, a frame is made, we mark it, then we cut it out. Slots are made on the sides so that the bedside table fits snugly against the wall. Next, cut out the plank for the plywood shelf. The dimensions are the same with a single-leaf pedestal.

Most often there are several departments. One department occupies a quarter of the entire structure in width, and in height the whole place. The rest of the place is occupied by the second division. It is divided into two parts by a horizontal shelf.

All parts of wood are fastened together, they are pre-glued and dowels are installed, as shown in the photo. After all parts are fixed with screws. Next, we cut out the doors and install them so that there is no deviation when closing.

Drawing of a double cabinet for the hallway

Hanger

In the manufacture of hangers, we select several boards of wood. Boards must be the same length. We describe the option of how to make a hanger from blocks, if desired, you can make a hanger with a large number of blocks:

    • lays out the boards on the surface so that there is free space between them. At the top of the hanger, they are attached to the rail at the level where the hooks will be attached;
    • we proceed to the manufacture of a shelf for hats, its size completely coincides with the size of the hanger;
    • when the shelf is prepared, it is attached to the hanger with self-tapping screws. Ribs are attached to each side of the shelf to keep hats from falling off the shelf;
    • Now that everything is ready, we mount the hanger on the wall where we planned to attach it. If the boards are too long, then they should be cut to the level of the cabinet. When the hanger is shortened to the desired level, you can use it.

Pencil case

There is nothing complicated in the production of a pencil case. You need to purchase a furniture board, cut out of it: a wall, a bottom, a front part, a cover, two back walls, they cut out a place for a plinth so that the cabinet fits snugly against the wall.

Work plan:

  1. the frame is assembled. First, we coat the holes and dowels with furniture glue. After they are attached to the place, assembling the frame, then it is fixed with self-tapping screws;
  2. now we cut out two canvases that will serve as sashes. Holes are made in each of them, into which three loops are attached;
  3. now we determine how many shelves there will be. We divide the height into equal sections, for each shelf and set the fasteners at the desired level;
  4. cut shelves and install. At the end of the work we attach the sash.

Closet

Consider how to make a closet that can be placed even in the smallest hallway design. It will be mounted on legs that are attached to it with self-tapping screws, they have a height of 55 cm, the dimensions of the self-tapping screws are 4 × 16, so a gap is formed from below. No more information is needed about these supports, now let's pay attention to the assembly. First, let's define the dimensions of the parts.

Wardrobe in the hallway

Materials for creation:

    • Chipboard laminated;
    • painted hardboard;
    • melamine edge, adhesive backing.

The facade is made to order, it is made of an aluminum frame, fastened with three hinges, a photo mirror is fixed in the frame.

Preliminary cabinet drawing

This is a more expensive option, but you can use a more budgetary one. The mirror can be glued to a chipboard sheet using special photo glue. It will turn out a bulky and heavy facade, relative to the custom version. For it, you need to purchase at least 4 hinges, it is better to attach the cabinet to the wall, so it will be more reliable. Otherwise, it will fall when the door opens. Therefore, it is worth deciding on the facade option yourself.

To assemble the frame, you need to purchase chipboard sheets of the following sizes:

    • 1 sheet 390 x 460, cover;
    • 2 sheets 990 x 480, top, bottom;
    • 1 sheet 380 x 390, shelf;
    • 1 sheet 2110 x 390, back;
    • 2 sheets 2110 x 460, side parts;
    • 1 sheet 400 x 440, sides of the nightstand;
    • 1 sheet 570 x 430, shelf;
    • 1 sheet 400 x 365, cabinet door;
    • 1 sheet 2030 x 600, back wall.

Measurements in millimeters.

Chipboard cutting map
Fibreboard cutting map

Before making a closet, you need to choose a place where places that are often used will not be closed. The frame is easy to put together.

When collecting, tools are used:

    • screwdriver with high power;
    • a couple of wood drills;
    • a set of fasteners, with a hexagon for confirmations;
    • pencil;
    • ruler;
    • a hammer.

Furniture making tools

Specialized fittings:

    • retractable bar: length 410 mm. Attaches to the bottom of the shelf. Hangers are placed flush with the front;
    • four articulated internal hinges. 6 pieces (2 pieces for a shoe cabinet, 4 pieces for a large door);
    • hooks, handles: they create a design, the choice is varied.

Required fittings

To match the fasteners, it is better to place the inner shelf 35 mm higher. They produce screeds for confirmations. Under them, details are drilled into the end and into the plane. Fasteners are standard 5 by 73 mm. In the plane of the hole through the diameter of 8.5 mm. The markup is placed depending on the number of parts. Such as sidewalls, facades, back of the open part.

Orgali are fixed with screws or nailed. If there is enough free time, then it is better to choose the first method. The second method is better to choose if you do not have a large margin of time. In the first and second options, it is important to observe that the structure remains rectangular. If this requirement is not met, then the facades will look unattractive and will not be able to close well.

Wardrobe behind the door

The place behind the door is ideal for placing a wardrobe. By installing it, the wall will be protected from damage that a doorknob can do. You will need an inch board, a layer that is pre-pasted with wallpaper and varnished or painted. Lacquer is used if the wallpaper is suitable for the design of the room. Paper for pasting is used to prevent warping of the board during operation.

Cut out blanks similar in size to the door:

      • side stand;
      • shelves.

The parts are connected with self-tapping screws, with large caps-washers. Shelves are attached to the wall using corners or rails. The rack is attached to the side with corners, or with a hidden mount.

A canopy-loop is installed at the back to the end, a self-tapping screw is screwed into the wall and a loop with a sidewall is put on it.

Attaching doors to cabinet

Hidden fasteners can be used for shelves. If the cabinet is fixed with hidden fasteners, then if necessary it can be easily removed. How to make your entrance hall, and what design to choose, only the owner of the house can decide, and whether to use the recommendations given in this article or not, this is only his decision.

A mandatory attribute of any hallway is a comfortable, functional closet.

If you have experience in carpentry, you can make a piece of furniture with your own hands.

This will help save money and create a wardrobe that will become an interior decoration.

In addition, the entrance hall is the first room that your guests notice. And your masterpiece can become its main decoration!

Before developing a wardrobe project, it is necessary to clearly define what items it is intended for and how many things will be stored. Take into account the dimensions of the room.

Kinds

The main purpose of the closet in the hallway is to store shoes and clothes, hats and even household appliances. There are the following types of wardrobes:

  • free standing. Roomy and massive, fully equipped: there are walls, ceilings, floors, doors. The design is easy to disassemble and carry;
  • corner. Suitable for small rectangular and square rooms. The back wall can be designed for various shelves;
  • built-in. They have internal partitions, side doors and walls, shelves. There are no back walls or ceilings.

For one person or a small family, a one-door wardrobe is enough. The number of sections is two. The internal filling should include shelves for shoes or shoe boxes, drawers for hats and small wardrobe items, stands for hats and umbrellas. You need crossbars for hangers and hooks for everyday clothes, and a mirror is a must.

When creating a schema must be taken into account:

  • the width of the shelves is about 80-90 cm. If the room is very small, you can make narrow shelves from 40 cm;
  • the crossbar for hangers must be placed across the cabinet;
  • the height of the wardrobe for the top of clothes is at least 140 cm;
  • there should be decorative shelves for small things.

In large hallways there are two-door or three-door wardrobes. It is convenient to store not only seasonal shoes, hats and accessories in them, but also bed linen, towels, magazines. The width of the shelves is variable - from 40 cm or more. The height between them is from 250 to 350 mm.

Important! The greater the depth of the shelves, the greater the distance between them and vice versa.

Scheme and drawing

During the drawing up of the scheme, it is necessary to take measurements of the details and draw everything on paper.

Reference. There are no set rules for scheduling. It is advisable to make a cabinet project according to ready-made drawings, which are easy to find on the Internet. And you can draw a sketch of the future product yourself, carefully considering all the details.

According to the drawings, sawing of the material will be carried out.

Circuit development sequence:

  1. Determine the dimensions of the cabinet, taking into account the placement. The standard length of wall material is usually 277 cm (based on the size of the apartment's ceiling).
  2. Sketch a general view of the product.
  3. Divide the interior space into vertical and horizontal sections.
  4. Decide which compartments to install the boxes.
  5. Determine the dimensions of the doors of the sections that will be closed (if any), the location of the mezzanines.

It is necessary to outline the ends for gluing the furniture edge tape, to select the fittings. Mark all dimensions on the drawing. To facilitate the task, you can use a free computer design program - for example, SweetHome 3D.

According to the selected dimensions, you need to prepare 6 important body parts:

  • top and bottom bars;
  • back walls (2 pieces);
  • side walls (not required if we are talking about a built-in wardrobe).

As side panels, rear panel, bottom and cabinet lid the walls of the apartment and the floor can be used. This will help save on materials.

Important! If the walls are made of drywall, this solution is not acceptable.

What to make to be cheap and beautiful?

The construction market offers a wide range of materials with which it is possible to implement any design solution. It is not necessary to make a cabinet from solid wood. It is expensive and difficult to process. It is better to buy practical inexpensive materials that are easy to work with.

Laminated chipboard panels- the best option for making a piece of furniture with your own hands.

Chipboard advantages:

  • affordable cost;
  • strength and reliability;
  • environmental friendliness;
  • ease of processing.

wood boards lightweight, so do not need fittings or reinforced fasteners. A wide selection of textures will allow you to realize any design ideas.

plywood sheets strong, lightweight and dimensionally stable. The material is several times cheaper than wood.

MDF panels are analogous to chipboard, and are inferior to them in terms of fiber pattern and quality. Such furniture is less expensive. On sale there are MDF with imitation of precious woods.

Advantages:

  • easy processing;
  • fire resistance;
  • moisture resistance (material does not swell);
  • ample opportunities for creating furniture.

Wood fiber boards have excellent performance. For the manufacture of load-bearing structures of the cabinet, medium or high density fiberboard is suitable.

The facade of the wardrobe can be made of wood, glass or chipboard, MDF sheets. Suitable laminated panels with a mirror or regular surface, with tinted auto film.

When choosing a material, take into account financial possibilities. If the budget allows, you can make a cabinet from natural wood. The most durable is mahogany. Alternative options are beech, Karelian birch.

You need to purchase the necessary accessories:

  • end hangers;
  • euro screws with plugs;
  • handles for doors and drawers;
  • drawer guides.

The number and type will depend on the number of sections, drawers in the closet.

Important. The fittings must be of high quality so that the doors do not jam.

Instruments

Before starting work, it is advisable to prepare everything in advance necessary tools and inventory. Namely:

  • tape measure or ruler;
  • pencil or marker;
  • glue;
  • edge tape;
  • ratchet;
  • screwdriver or drill;
  • pliers.

If you plan to cut the blanks for the cabinet at home, you will need an electric jigsaw.

Step-by-step instruction

Blanks

Sawing parts is carried out according to the finished drawings. If you have experience, you can handle this yourself. But after sawing the material with a jigsaw, chips may form.

expedient turn to professionals for cutting blanks. The sheets will be cut beautifully and precisely, and there will be no jagged edges on the edges.

After cutting the parts, edging is carried out with furniture PVC tape. The edge is glued with an iron heated to a certain temperature.

Build Description

Pre-marking for fasteners with maximum accuracy.

Important! The holes for the fastening elements should be located strictly in the middle of the thickness of the end of the workpiece, since the confirmations are screwed into the end.

Install the bottom and walls of the cabinet according to the scheme:

  1. Check the accuracy of the dimensions, put the walls and bottom in place.
  2. Holes are made to fix the base and partition in the center.
  3. Fix the plinth and the central partition. Confirmates are screwed to the bottom of the side walls. To protect them from moisture from the side of the part that rests on the floor, a waterproof profile is used.
  4. Mount the upper shelves to stiffen the frame. For reinforcement, a back wall is installed.

Important! To fix the cover, a screwdriver will not work. Fasteners are baited manually using pliers. Additionally, tighten with a ratchet or hex wrench.

Proceed to the installation of side shelves. They are fixed with four confirmations (2 on each side).

If the side shelf is flush with the inner shelf or bottom, confirmations cannot be used.

Fasten with dowels - wooden cylinders. They are inserted into pre-prepared recesses in the wall and pushed into the same holes in the shelf.

Assembly of doors begins with the installation of the back door. The level checks whether the cabinet is accurately exposed. The upper level is fixed by placing 2 supports and a running lower profile on it. To assemble the rear door, you will need a set of accessories:

  • rear door track roller with and without trunnions;
  • 2 tailgate corners;
  • 8 screws 4x25;
  • 10 screws 4x16;
  • 6 screws;
  • sealant.

If glass or mirror insertion is envisaged, install segments of the seal along the length of the dividing profile. When mounting parts from chipboard, a sealant is not needed.

When assembling the door, the inserts are placed on the foam with the front side so as not to damage. Glass or a mirror is installed in a horizontal dividing profile. When mounting two glasses, the sealant is placed on both sides.

The combined door is assembled using dividing profiles. A sealant is required at the joints with glass. The main door profile is fixed on both sides of the door. If it is made of chipboard, use 4x25 screws. To the connecting profile is fixed with screws using a screwdriver.

Important! One profile is fixed in a horizontal position. The second - according to the vertical arrangement of the door.

The profile handle is installed on both sides, directing the bend to the front side, controlling the tightness of the joints. If necessary, they are knocked out with a mallet and the mates are aligned along the entire length. The restrictive sealing corner of the rear door, the track roller without pins, is mounted on the side of the profile handle.

Hanging the rear door is carried out on the running profile and go to the front. Prepare the same set of fittings as for the back door. The assembly of the front door of the cabinet is carried out in the above sequence.

At the final stage, hangers and baskets are installed on the side walls. Check the functionality of the doors. They must open and close without extraneous sounds and easily.

Conclusion

Thus, making a closet in the hallway with your own hands is a responsible and painstaking work that is done in stages. Choose a product design; determine the content; make measurements, draw up a diagram and drawing; buy materials; make blanks of parts and assemble the cabinet.

In contact with

Most pieces of furniture are quite simple in their design, which is quite reasonable. Cabinetmakers have been in their craft for several centuries, but the production of furniture on a mass scale began relatively recently. And up to this point, each owner of the house made tables, chairs, beds, cabinets independently.

You can do it now with your own hands. Moreover, modern tools and materials greatly facilitate this process.

The situation in the hallway does not apply to either the front or the universal, it only requires spaciousness, compactness and a neat appearance. Decorations are minimal. Well, to be honest, decorating furniture is a simple and pleasant matter.

  • Chipboard is the best option for making your own cabinet or hanger. The material is easy to cut, process, is lightweight and does not require reinforced fasteners or fittings. In addition, chipboard is very affordable.
  • Plywood - with almost the same lightness, it is distinguished by high density and strength. From plywood at home, you can make not only curvilinear elements, but also with a slotted pattern.
  • MDF - slightly inferior to plywood in strength. The undoubted advantage of the material is the possibility of various processing. MDF can be painted, stained, tinted and so on.
  • Fiberboard - material for the back walls of cabinets, cabinets, chests of drawers and so on.
  • Glass or mirror - to assemble a glass or mirror cabinet door yourself is not such an overwhelming task. But, firstly, you will have to purchase and cut the profile yourself, and, secondly, the glass is heavy, you will need at least one assistant.
  • If it is decided to make an entrance hall from an array, then a furniture board is purchased in the appropriate quantity.
  • Wooden beam - any frame structure is assembled from a beam.
  • Edged boards - pine is most often used, as it is the most affordable wood.

Additional materials include drywall - for arranging built-in niches, and furniture edge - an indispensable element.

Depending on the type of furniture for the hallway, you will need various kinds of fittings:

  • guides for drawers and tires for a sliding system, if constructed;
  • door hinges, locks and handles, if you plan to equip a chest of drawers or;
  • hooks for clothes - this attribute is required.

The quantity and quality of fasteners is also selected depending on what exactly is being collected:

  • nails, screws, self-tapping screws;
  • furniture confirmations and dowels - when assembling furniture, you cannot do without wooden fasteners;
  • metal and plastic furniture corners;
  • plugs.

The set of tools is quite standard: a screwdriver, a drill, a jigsaw or a saw for wood, a key for confirmations, a mallet. If it is mounted on glue, and this is quite acceptable, then a clamp is definitely needed. To check the verticality and horizontality, you will need a square and a building level.

How to make a hallway with your own hands

The most critical stages of self-manufacturing include sizing. If a mistake is made here, all the rest of the work will go down the drain.

The model of the closet, hallway or chest of drawers is carefully calculated. You can use the finished drawing if the dimensions are suitable for the hallway. If not, and your own experience in the drawing business is too small, it is better to contact a specialist and get a finished project for the required dimensions.

Cutting chipboard, MDF and plywood, as well as edging, are available at most stores that sell this material. This service is relatively inexpensive and saves a lot of time and effort.

Closet

Making your own is both easier and more difficult at the same time. Easier, because some details do not need to be calculated and cut out. It is more difficult, since the cabinet is “tied” to a niche, which means that the project must take into account the features of the walls and floor.

The level of "embedded" may be different. In the ideal case, this is a niche that is equipped with shelves and a bar with hangers, and a sliding system. Moreover, in this case, the sashes are mounted as an interior door - to the wall and to the floor. But much more often, built-in means a closet that occupies the corner of the room. In this case, one sidewall and back wall are missing, and often the floor and ceiling.

  1. The basis of such a product is a wooden frame. For the case described above, two frames are required - front and side, which are assembled on self-tapping screws or nails. On the frames, in places where shelves and partitions are supposed to be installed, transverse rails are fixed.
  2. On the walls, floor and ceiling, mark the place of installation of the frame, drill holes for fastening. On the frame structure, it is desirable to mark the places of fixation.
  3. First, the front frame is fixed to the wall and ceiling with dowels. Verticality is checked with a level. Then install the side.
  4. Inside the resulting niche, wooden slats are mounted to the walls under the shelves. Shelves are cut out of plywood or chipboard. Details are not fixed, but simply laid on the rails. If desired, fix with cloves.
  5. The sidewall can be sheathed with ordinary drywall, and then glued or painted to taste, or sewn up with laminated chipboard. Here you can install rounded shelves. They are attached to a wooden frame, so the strength of the skin is not critical. But if a hanger bar is installed in this compartment, then the sidewall is sheathed with chipboard or plywood, since drywall will not withstand such a load.
  6. Sliding doors are installed last. The upper rails are mounted on the ceiling, and the lower rails are mounted on the floor. At this point, sizing is very important. For reliability, a door layout is used: any part as high as a sash, the same drywall sheet is inserted into the upper tire and, after checking the verticality, mark the place of attachment of the lower guide on the floor. In this case, it is really better to measure 7 times.
  7. The sash is inserted into the upper rail under some pressure - the upper rollers allow this, and then into the lower one. The position of the door leaf is adjusted by adjusting screws. The sash should move smoothly and freely.

The described option has a small size and a fairly simple device - only two compartments. If the area of the hallway allows, you can make a much more spacious structure, but in this case it is recommended to assemble the frame from chipboard, not bars, and connect the parts with a common floor or ceiling. The latter method is easier to implement. This design allows you to install not only shelves and a bar, but drawers, lifts for clothes and so on.

Assembly in this case is done on dowels - parts with each other, and confirmations - shelves. The holes for them are drilled in advance, and then the cabinet is assembled as a designer. The work requires not so much qualification as accuracy and patience: a lot of holes are drilled, and each corner fastening must be kept in a clamp for at least a day.

The following video will tell you how to make your own built-in wardrobe in the hallway with your own hands:

normal hallway

The standard version of the situation in the hallway is in the form of a shelf or a stand with hooks, if there is a place for it. The main element here is, of course, the hanger.

The most popular and simplest version of it is wall-mounted. This is a shield - one-piece or consisting of vertical rails, which is fixed to the wall. A hat rack is a must. Such a stand is being built from plywood, chipboard or edged boards - at will.

  1. At the first stage, the dimensions of the product are determined and the amount of material is calculated.
  2. The material is prepared for work: the boards are cleaned and polished with sandpaper or a grinder. Chipboard is cut to size and edged. The undoubted advantage of chipboard or plywood here is the ability to give vertical elements a different shape, sometimes very intricate.
  3. The boards are varnished. If the original color does not suit you, then they are first treated with the appropriate stain.
  4. Vertical elements according to the scheme are fixed to the crossbars with self-tapping screws. The shelf for hats is fixed on confirmations: for them, holes are pre-drilled in the boards and at the end of the shelf.
  5. Fasten the selected hooks for clothes. It is advisable to place them in two rows: the upper ones for clothes, the lower ones for bags and keys, or, if there are children in the house, for children's clothes.

Making such a model original is more than simple. To do this, boards or elements from chipboard are given an unusual shape, for example: cut out slats in the form of a picket fence and fix hooks of various shapes. No less original is the hanger, where the base is an irregularly shaped piece of wood, like a cut of a trunk, and the hooks are lacquered fragments of branches with knots.

In this video, you will learn how to assemble a wardrobe with your own hands:

And this video will help you with the assembly of a radius cabinet for the corridor:

corner option

With hooks, it is no more difficult to make than a simple wall-mounted one. But for the stability of such a design, it is usually assembled from solid material - chipboard, plywood, and not boards.

The classic model is a module of two parts, connected at a right angle, with an upper and lower rounded shelf. A rectangular shape is undesirable, since the corner visually needs to be softened. Yes, and using such a shelf is inconvenient.

  1. Manufacturing also begins with a drawing, where the dimensions are indicated and the places for attaching the shelves are marked. The latter are installed on confirmations.
  2. Chipboard is cut with an electric jigsaw or a hacksaw for wood and must be edged.
  3. Holes for dowels are drilled on the front surface of one panel and at the end of the other. At the same stage, holes for confirmations are drilled.
  4. The dowels are lubricated with glue and the sidewalls are assembled. After drying, the shelves are fixed on confirmations.
  5. Set hooks for clothes and bags at a convenient height.

If there is not enough space in the hallway, you can fix it on such a hanger by simply gluing it to one of the sidewalls.

Drawings and photos

Photos of various options for hallways can be found in an infinite amount. Unfortunately, nothing but the appearance of the models can be judged by them. Drawings are much more informative.

If you decide to use the finished drawing, then, firstly, you need to make sure that the dimensions indicated in it are suitable for the hallway. Secondly, the working diagram indicates not only the general parameters, but also the distance between the parts, taking into account their thickness. If the material used in the manufacture differs in size, this difference must be taken into account.

The best version of the drawing is a diagram with a dimensional table, where the parameters of each part are indicated separately, and the attachment points are also marked.
