I have a dream to build myself a private house within the city, even if it is not the center, but definitely in the city. I sometimes “wander” on the Internet looking at various projects. But how to understand - what area is needed for a family? After all, you need to choose the optimal dimensions, no more, no less, namely as much as you need, so how to calculate? You know, there are a couple of calculation methods, today I will share them ...

First you need to understand what kind of house you need, this is the material of the walls, the production technology and the number of storeys, the presence of a garage, etc. And after that you need to calculate the area.

Everyone chooses the material for himself, there can be both stone and, to your taste, color and wallet.

The number of floors is mainly chosen from the size of the plot - if the plot is large, you can build 1 floor, because you are practically unlimited in the land. If there is not enough space, 2 and even 3 floors are considered, so the first floor can be made compact and duplicated upstairs. So we got to the square.

For 3 persons

Family - two adults (father and mother) and a child. To begin with, I want to note that we will build a modern house, I mean with all the “necessary” rooms. The ideal project, according to many designers, should have two floors. But what rooms should be:

Hallway, any room begins with it. A good area for her is 5 square meters.
Boiler, heating. Also enough 5 sq.m.
Kitchen. If it is alone, that is, it is not combined with anything, then 12 sq.m is enough
The dining room is sometimes combined with the kitchen. Desirable - 12 sq.m
Living room or hall. A comfortable room where you are not ashamed to invite friends, approximately 25 - 30 sq.m.
Bathroom (if there are two floors, there should be two), each 5 sq.m.

An office for work is also desirable. 12 m is enough

For 4 people

They are parents and two children. "Just throw one room and that's it" - you say! This is not always the case. Here the optimal area may be slightly different. And that's why.

YES, of course, you need to add an area for one child, that is, it is + 15 meters. However, for children, designers and psychologists recommend making another common room, let's call it "play" at an early age and entertaining at a later age. There, children can meet their guests, then friends can stay there overnight, etc. I think you understand. For such a room, again, 15 sq.m. is desirable.

Thus, we add 30 meters to our area, the total space is 155 + 30 = 185 sq.m .

This is the optimal area for 4 people.

Of course, many rich people make the rooms just huge, 30 or more square meters. Of course, this is not prohibited, but the squares grow up to 300 and 400 meters. But they need to be heated! Remember this.

The project of a very small house for living, only 67 square meters, but it has everything for a comfortable stay of 3 people. The task was quite difficult, but interesting, they wanted to meet the million with interior decoration. Therefore, they thought through every little thing, starting from the foundation and ending with the last nook in this house. We also approached the exterior decoration of the house very carefully, we wanted to make a stylish and inexpensive house, so we chose an imitation of timber, as a result, the entire exterior decoration cost us only 43 thousand. The next very important step was the layout, we needed to place two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom and a vestibule in the house, plus a lot of storage space, this house has everything and there is no feeling of crowding, although each room has spacious built-in wardrobes , as well as above the bedrooms, a bathroom and a vestibule there is a very large mezzanine, which the owners can use as additional storage places, guest bedrooms, or as fantasy tells. The layout also took into account other points, such as electrical wiring, in order not to sew up all the walls inside the house, or not to make open wiring, all electrical outlets are located on internal partitions, and they are framed, so do not interfere with the wiring of sockets or switches, with the exception of the master bedroom, where the headboard was replaced by a regular grooved floorboard, and switches and sockets near the bed will be installed behind it. The design of the premises was also approached with special attention, there are no expensive finishing materials here, only plates covering the frame, it is possible to change them for lining or imitation of timber, painted with paint or tinting varnish, plus a floorboard and several meters of inexpensive white tiles, saving on face. As for the furniture, everything is also quite interesting, from the points of purchase, in this house there are only chairs from IKEA and a sofa, we will order all the rest of the furniture from the carpenter, so the furniture will still remain for the grandchildren. Special attention was paid to the lamps in the nursery, the legs are made of wood, but the lampshades are covered with a piece of a children's sweater.
