How to fix roller blinds on plastic windows. How to fasten roller blinds: installation, hang, assemble, instruction, method, on windows, fasteners, mini, with guide strings, photo, video

Not many people know that blinds were invented several centuries ago. Today it is one of the most popular decorative and protective devices for windows. The article will discuss how to independently hang blinds on plastic windows. You will be able to find out what types of window multi-leaf curtains are and how to properly install vertical and horizontal blinds.

Kinds

Blinds- one of the types of window curtains, devices in the form of rigid, arranged parallel to each other and adjustable plates, made of various materials - fabric, wood, metal, plastic. They have several functions:

  • protect from light
  • decorate the window
  • regulate air flow.
There are several types of blinds. The most common of them are:
  • horizontal;
  • vertical;
  • roll;
  • pleated.
Let's take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of each type.

Did you know? The official history of the invention of blinds begins in 1841. It was in this year that their production was patented by the American John Hampton, although the production of rigid curtains was carried out before. So, since the 1760s, they were produced in Philadelphia by the Englishman John Webster.

Horizontal

Horizontal or Venetian blinds are thin plates (lamellas) that are arranged one above the other like a ladder. They are interconnected by a cord that allows you to open and close them, as well as adjust the height. The plates are controlled by a rotary rod. Lamels can be made of different materials - wood, metal, bamboo, fabric.

The main advantages of these types of curtains are:

  • good sun protection
  • increased heat transfer;
  • the ability to control the intensity of lighting;
  • reliability;
  • durability;
  • ease of maintenance and operation;
  • the ability to visually expand the size of the room;
  • easy installation;
  • the ability to use for any premises, including kitchen, bath, balcony;
  • low cost.
There are no downsides to horizontal blinds. They can be present only depending on the material from which they are made. We will discuss them in more detail in a separate section below.

vertical

Vertical blinds appeared somewhat later than horizontal ones - in 1960. However, they quickly gained popularity and today are successfully used to decorate various rooms.

These are plastic, metal or fabric lamellas suspended on a cornice in a vertical position parallel to each other and connected at the bottom with a cord. They are regulated by a side mechanism that rotates the plates - with the help of a decorative cord (chain) they turn, with the help of a rope they move in one direction, fully or partially opening the window.

The advantages of vertical blinds are:

  • versatility - the ability to install in window openings, to the ceiling, to the wall above the window, installation in skylights and ordinary windows;
  • ease of installation;
  • ease of care;
  • effective regulation of the flow of sunlight;
  • good air access when dimming;
  • the possibility of combining with ordinary curtains;
  • the ability to visually increase the height of the room.
Among the shortcomings should be mentioned:
  • inconvenience when shifting to the side when opening the window;
  • the impossibility of placing flowers on the windowsill when fastened to the window opening.

Rolled

Roller blinds have recently entered the field of view of modern apartment design. Preference is given to them by those who love coziness and comfort in the house. It is they who are able to create them in the bedroom, living room and kitchen. In addition, the appearance of roller blinds is more attractive than other types, while the functionality also remains on top.

They are designed in the form of a horizontal shaft, on which a roll of fabric is wound, and a control mechanism in the form of a cord, a spring holder or an electric drive. The fabric can be lowered and raised to the desired length, completely or partially closing the window. Roller blinds are mounted in the window opening, on the ceiling or on the wall, on the window sash.

The advantages of roller blinds are:

  • ease of operation;
  • ease of care - the fabric is impregnated with dust and water-repellent composition;
  • the possibility of implementing any design idea;
  • durability;
  • good protection from sunlight and overheating of the room;
  • the ability to create any degree of illumination of the room;
  • environmental friendliness;
  • ergonomics;
  • possibility of installation on skylights;
  • when installed on each sash, there is no interference with opening windows and decorating the window sill;
  • the possibility of making curtains from transparent materials.

The disadvantages include the price, which is much higher than the more familiar and common horizontal and vertical designs, as well as the fragility of the spring holder.

Cassette blinds are one of the types of roller blinds. This is an option designed for plastic windows. It is assumed that the slats or a fabric roll are hidden in a specially designed box (cassette) attached to the window sash when closing.

This design allows you to save space, free the window and window sill, additionally protect the material from dust, dirt, and deformation. Cassette options are made of fabric, bamboo, aluminum, plastic. There are three types of cassettes: round, angled and flat.

Pleated

Another option for fabric blinds is pleated blinds. As the name already implies, these are fabric curtains assembled in a small fold. Their choice is huge and is represented by various colors, density of fabric material, shapes. Some of them are sewn according to a special pattern.

Thanks to this, pleated curtains can fit into any interior, creating an original atmosphere. This option is a piece of fabric, which is attached to a special profile and is controlled by a chain, cord or electric drive.

Advantages of pleated blinds:

  • originality;
  • external attractiveness;
  • good functionality;
  • durability;
  • reliability;
  • miniature design;
  • the possibility of designing a window of any shape and from any material.

Original and sophisticated solutions in the interior are not complete without the use of multiimpressive blinds, i.е. those in which the lamellas are made of various materials using a variety of decor.

Varieties of material

As already mentioned, at different times the blinds were made from different textures. Today, the most common materials for window hard curtains are fabric, plastic and aluminum, less often wood. Each of them has both pluses and minuses.

fabric

Textile blinds- this is one of the best options for decorating windows and protecting the room from sunlight in apartments and houses. There are both horizontal and vertical designs.

Many people are drawn to the look and color options of fabric blinds, but are put off by the notion that they require the same maintenance as regular curtains. However, it is not.

Textiles for blinds are impregnated with special impregnations that prevent dirt, dust and moisture from being absorbed. Care will consist only in periodically wiping the material with a slightly damp cloth and vacuuming.
High-quality textile blinds do not fade, do not deform, fit into any interior, and are not too expensive. However, compared to metal, plastic and wooden structures, they have a shorter service life. Textile models are not the best option for the kitchen or catering establishments, as they can absorb odors.

Did you know? The first blinds were made from wooden plates. They were replaced by metal curtains. After World War II, fabrics were also used to make window guards.

Plastic

One of the most purchased types, due to its low price and the possibility of using it in various premises - office, apartment, public, utility, with high humidity. The polymers from which the lamellas are made can be with varying degrees of light transmission, various colors, with or without patterns. They are practical, lightweight, easy to install and maintain, and are sold at the best price.
Among the disadvantages:

  • creating noise in a draft, with open windows;
  • some polymers turn yellow under prolonged exposure to sunlight;
  • cannot be used near stoves and other heating devices due to poor resistance to fire;
  • release of toxic substances in case of fire.

Aluminum

Along with plastic, aluminum blinds are also popular. They have high strength, durability, fire resistance, ability to withstand different temperatures, moisture. They are often used to protect windows in public places, offices, medical institutions. They have an attractive price. They can be horizontal, vertical, cassette.

Among the shortcomings - a heavier weight, the creation of a noise effect in a draft.

Wooden

Wooden blinds are used in certain types of interiors, they go well with fabric curtains and natural wood furniture. They allow you to create a warm homely atmosphere. They are reliable, durable, durable, environmentally friendly, protect well from the sun. However, they are one of the most expensive options.

Installation technology

Blinds can be installed without the help of professionals. We offer you instructions for working with horizontal and vertical hard curtains.

Horizontal

Horizontal structures can be fixed in four ways:

  • to the ceiling;
  • to the wall above the window;
  • in the window opening;
  • to window sashes.
First you need to take measurements. The height and width of the window opening is measured with a tape measure. On a sheet of paper, it is necessary to draw a diagram of the window, on which measurements will be taken in the future.

When installing curtains in a window opening their size is calculated by subtracting 1 cm from the height, 2 cm from the width.

When installed above a window opening the size of the blinds is calculated based on the addition of 5-7 cm to its height and 20 cm to its width.

When attached to the sash the width is measured from the junction of the glazing bead with the window on the left side to the junction of the glazing bead with the window on the right side, adding 1 cm.

When measuring height on a blind window 3 cm is added to the distance from the glazing bead to the glazing bead, on the sash - 4 cm.

Conventional horizontal blinds consist of the following elements:

  • upper part - swivel axle, rollers, cornice, brackets, cord retainer, swivel mechanism, top cover;
  • the middle part - lamellas and a plug;
  • lower part - lower cornice, side covers.
The following tools are required for installation:
  • screwdriver;
  • pencil;
  • screws.

The technology for mounting finished aluminum blinds on plastic windows is as follows:
  1. Straighten the structure.
  2. Remove control knob.
  3. Attach fasteners to the top bar.
  4. Attach the structure to the installation site and mark the places for attaching the brackets. The distance between them must be at least 60 cm.
  5. Attach the brackets to the wall, window frame or sash.
  6. Insert the top cornice into the brackets.
  7. Open the blinds and mark the places for attaching the lower clamps.
  8. Attach bottom fasteners.
  9. Insert adjusting knob.

Important!Care must be taken to ensure that the brackets do not get into the control mechanism, cord retainer or caliper..

If the finished blinds are longer than necessary, they can be trimmed. To do this, remove the side and remove the lower latches from the bottom bar. Then pull out the knots of the cord from the two holes formed and untie them. Remove excess slats. Re-insert the cords into the holes of the bottom bar and tie knots. Return the lower and side clamps.

You can also shorten the blinds in width, but this is much more difficult to do. In order not to spoil the curtain, it is better to contact the master. For trimming, you need a hacksaw with fine teeth. The slats should be folded into one strip and sawn off to the required length. Then polish the ends with a file, if necessary - tint.

Installing roller blinds

To install roller blinds on a wall, in an opening or on a ceiling, you will need drilling and a drill or punch, depending on the material from which the ceiling and walls are made. Roller blinds are attached to plastic or wooden windows using double-sided adhesive tape and PVC brackets without drilling.

If the blinds are attached to the sash, then to calculate their dimensions, you will need to know not only the width and height of the window, but also the depth of the glazing bead. The choice of system will depend on the latter size. With a bead depth of more than 1.5 cm, you need to pay attention to the Uni type system, up to 1.5 cm - Profil and Mini.
Add 3 cm to the width of the glass - this will be the width of the curtain. The length of standard curtains is about 2 m. If they are too long for your windows, they can be cut.

Important! The length of the roller blinds is calculated based on the fact that there must be at least 50 cm of fabric on the roll.

The technology for mounting roller blinds without drilling is as follows:

  1. Install a cap on one end of the roll, and a swivel mechanism with a plastic chain on the other.
  2. Insert the latch into the bracket and fasten it to the bracket.
  3. Install the brackets on the roll according to the instructions.
  4. Attach the curtain to the attachment point.
  5. Mark the mounting points for the brackets.
  6. Make sure that nothing prevents the opening of the curtains.
  7. Degrease the place of attachment of the brackets.
  8. Stick adhesive tape on the sash at the place where the bracket is attached.
  9. Degrease brackets.
  10. Peel off the protective tape of the tape.
  11. Hang the blinds by pressing the adhesive tape at the attachment point.

If you purchased a ready-made curtain, but it does not fit your window, then its size can be reduced. In order to shorten them in width, you will need to cut the roll, web and bottom rail. It is much easier to cut the fabric to length. The fabric is cut with ordinary scissors under the ruler, and then the lower rail is attached to it.

Installation of cassette blinds

Cassette blinds are also attached with adhesive tape. In order to install them, you need:

  1. Print product.
  2. Degrease the attachment point to the window frame.
  3. Attach the cassette to the attachment point and lower the fabric to the lower position.
  4. Mark the location of the cassette attachment with a pencil.
  5. Remove the protective film from the adhesive tape attached to the back of the cassette.
  6. Attach the cassette to the frame, press and hold for a few seconds.
  7. Carefully remove the protective tape from the top edge of the metal fabric guides on both sides.
  8. Install the guides into the groove of the cassette of the shade body and press down.
  9. Gradually removing the protective layer of adhesive tape, press the guides parallel to the frame glazing bead.
  10. Do the same on the other side.
  11. Install a limiter.

vertical

Vertical curtains can be attached in three ways:

  • in the window opening;
  • to the wall above the window;
  • to the ceiling.
They can have left-hand, right-hand and central control. Below you will find instructions on how to install vertical rigid curtains on your own.

In the window opening

To calculate the dimensions, you need to measure the width of the window opening and subtract 1-1.5 cm. Measure the height of the opening and subtract 1.5-2 cm. Measurements must be taken 5-7 cm deep into the opening, since it usually narrows. To make sure that after installing the blinds the sash will open, you need to measure the distance from the top edge of the sash to the upper slope of the eaves installation point. The distance must be at least 4.5 cm. Otherwise, you will have to measure in the overlay. Because the window may be uneven, the width and height must be measured at three points.

You can attach vertical blinds to the window opening in this way:

  1. Mark the mounting points.
  2. Drill holes.
  3. Install brackets.
  4. Insert the cornice into the special grooves on the holders and snap the locks.
  5. Install fabric.
  6. Insert weights.
  7. Fasten the bottom chain.

Above the windows

To calculate the size, add at least 18-20 cm to the width of the window opening on each side. You will also need to measure the distance from the ceiling to the upper corner of the slope. At least 10 cm should be retreated from the upper slope angle. Measurements with fastening to the ceiling are made by subtracting 1-2 cm from the distance "ceiling - window sill", "ceiling - floor" - 4-7 cm.

The choice of style and quality of products according to taste indicators will tell you how to assemble roller blinds correctly. They can be mounted on window openings or ceilings. In any case, there are certain stages of work.

Window with curtains

They are flat long canvases of fabric. They are compact and work well with curtains or other sun protection systems that help to create a uniform style in the decor. As independent elements, they also have the right to exist.

Due to the chain, the product is rolled onto a drum into a roll. It is installed in the opening.

Preparatory work

To begin with, choose a place for installation from the preferences of the owners of the house.

You need to make sure that the installation windows maintain a uniform vertical position. It would be appropriate to use the so-called "alcohol level". It is applied to the opening and the liquid indicators are checked in a small hole. When it “runs away”, at least one structure installs roller shutters not along the window line, but exactly according to the level. Otherwise, when opening and closing, the curtain wraps crookedly. This results in openings on the sides because the fabric does not fit snugly.

The location of the curtains on the window

Because of these irregularities, the system is quickly disabled.

Check for obstacles and measurements

If you are interested in how to assemble roller blinds for plastic windows, you need to follow the basic processes and make the right calculations. Make sure that there are no protruding parts that would interfere with lifting and lowering. When touching the handle, it is advised to install it to unroll the roll counterclockwise.

Everything can be shortened if needed.

Definition and calculation

The following procedures are followed:

  • Find out the party to install the control chain.
  • Make a markup and attach the brackets to the frame.

More often, the mechanism is located on the side of the bracket with a hexagonal ledge.

  • When it became known where the first bracket will be located, mark the places for the holes. They can be drilled out with a thin drill. After installation, the screws are slightly tightened, aligning the shaft along a horizontal line using the building level.
  • Measure points for the second bracket.
  • Determine the midpoint of the window frame and mark it on the ceiling. In this case, a test square is used.

General order of work

  • On the sides, set aside segments from the middle that are equivalent to the length of half the frame.
  • From the full width subtract the thickness of the brackets. Usually it is about 0.2x0.4 cm.
  • The required length of the shaft is sawn off. The excess is cut off.
  • Install the cap with the protrusion on the shaft.
  • The same length of the lower rail is sawn off.
  • Lay the fabric out on a flat surface. Make markings on the bottom rail.
  • The canvas is cut with a sharp knife or scissors.

Fastening

Fastening is carried out as follows:

  • The protective film is removed from the self-adhesive strip of the shaft.
  • The canvas is wound onto a shaft and unfolded along the side of the window.
  • Mounting is carried out on the shaft in a horizontal position to avoid distortions.

Mounting types

  • Bend 50 mm of the upper part, getting a fold.
  • Put the shaft in the fold with the strip up.
  • After it is rolled to the top.
  • The canvas is folded ¾ of the length and the lower rail is inserted into the already prepared hole. It is ready for installation.
  • The construction is carried out by inserting its end with the control mechanism into the bracket, after which the other end is inserted.

Curtains "mini"

The following sequence of actions will help determine the question of how to assemble mini roller blinds:

  • Cut open the packaging and carefully unpack. Avoid scratches on the product.
  • Using self-tapping screws, 2 magnets are screwed to the bottom bar from the back.
  • Tie a knot at one end of the string. Thread this side of the fishing line into any rectangular hole. Then it is mounted.

The assembly is clamped between the bracket and the frame.

  • The same procedure is done with another fishing line.
  • If drilling is used. The attachment points of the screws are pre-marked.
  • Cap brackets are used, they are put on the frame.
  • A plug is inserted into the mechanism.
  • The product is assembled to a click. The opening of the mechanism is directed downwards.
  • Covers are put on the installed elements.
  • Lowering the canvas down, install the lower limiter of the chain.
  • The line is threaded through hooks at the bottom of the structure. They are tied with knots.
  • The lower elements are placed on the frame. The line should be pulled tight. It should easily pass through the holes in the hooks.
  • The rest is cut off.
  • According to the level of the magnets, strips of tape are glued in the lowered position.

Mounting parts

The design is checked for operability by raising and lowering the curtains. In the process, it should not touch objects around.

Design features with fishing line

After reviewing the procedure for how to assemble a roller blind with a fishing line, it is advised to pay attention to the rules for using such products. This will help to avoid violations of the movement of the canvas and breakdowns:

  • The lower bar is fixed automatically at any level.
  • Raising and lowering occurs with the help of a control chain.
  • Installation is carried out exclusively on the window frame inside the house, the humidity should be no more than 70%.
  • Easy mounting on plastic frames is provided.
  • It is forbidden to get dirt on the canvases.
  • Mechanical impact is not allowed to avoid damage.
  • Cleaning can be done with a vacuum cleaner or with a soft dry brush.
  • It is not recommended to lower and raise the product with sudden movements.
  • You should not independently carry out repair work on installed systems.
  • Mandatory use of limiters for the chain.

Roller blinds are considered not only one of the practical options for window decoration, but also an original element in a modern building.

Roller blinds gained great popularity after the appearance of plastic windows, which replaced wooden frames. The mass distribution of roller blinds is due to the fact that they are quickly installed, do not require special care, but at the same time they look stylish and fit almost any interior. This type of curtains combines decorativeness and functionality, so they are mounted over balcony sections and stained-glass windows, which cannot always be closed with bulky and heavy curtains and curtains.

Another advantage of roller blinds is their installation, which is carried out without violating the integrity of the metal-plastic structure. Special fastenings allow you to do without the use of a drill and drilling through holes. Roller blinds can be installed independently, without resorting to the help of specialists.

What are roller blinds

Manufacturers produce several types of roller blinds for plastic windows that can be installed without drilling additional holes. Let's take a closer look at each model.

Differ in availability and low cost. The shaft, on which the woven fabric is wound, remains open. At the bottom of the canvas there is a plastic weighting agent, due to which the curtain falls down, filling the window frame with itself. Roller blinds "mini" are suitable for window structures of any complexity, they do not take up much space and are easy to clean.

They look a little different: the rotating shaft is located under the decorative box. In the folded state, such a model is almost invisible. In addition, the woven material under the box is not exposed to the sun's rays, which helps to avoid fading of the fabric. The shade and design of the box are selected based on the wishes of the customer.

This is a combined model that is mounted on each individual leaf, which allows them to be opened and closed without hindrance. The box, under which there is a folded curtain, is located at the top of the sash. Mini-cassette curtains are of two types:

  • Curtain model UNI 1 is suitable for wide glazing beads (a narrow long rail made of wood or plastic, which serves to strengthen the glass in the window frame). The guides are fastened to the inside of the glazing beads. UNI 1 fit snugly and are practically in contact with the glass.
  • The UNI 2 curtain model has a similar design, but the main difference is that the guides are attached to the outer part of the glazing bead. At the top of the window sash is a box.

Important! Domestic manufacturers of roller blinds produce high quality products that are in no way inferior to their foreign counterparts.

What to look for when buying roller blinds

Roller blinds are single and double. The second option is the model called "day-night". To achieve the desired degree of illumination of the room allows an unusual canvas, consisting of transparent and dense areas. The curtain becomes daylight and lets in a large amount of sunlight when it consists of alternating stripes. To make a night curtain and create twilight in the room even in clear sunny weather, it is enough to raise or lower one of the canvases. The play of light is possible due to small gaps through which light from the street barely passes. The color of dense sections of the canvas is selected according to the wishes of the customer. Transparent stripes are best combined with white.

Roller blinds differ from each other in the degree of protection from ultraviolet rays. Roller blinds made of transparent materials do not prevent natural light from entering, they rather perform a decorative function. Transparent curtains are suitable for apartments and houses, from the windows of which a picturesque view of the city park, the sea, mountains, etc. opens.

Translucent roller blinds are installed on windows facing north. Sunlight becomes less bright and intense and more comfortable for the human eye.

In the manufacture of curtains that do not transmit ultraviolet, dense materials are used that can not only create pitch darkness during the daytime, but also isolate the room from extraneous sounds coming from the street. This is ideal for a bedroom located on our sunny side. With such impenetrable curtains, you will not have to wake up with the first rays of the sun.

To achieve almost 100% opacity of roller blinds, Blackout material, consisting of polyester fibers with double satin weaves, allows. It does not let in bright ultraviolet rays and cold, and is also resistant to pollution and fire.

Today, manufacturers produce roller blinds equipped with an electric drive. The automatic control system allows you to wind the web on the shaft using a remote control. From now on, the degree of intensity of the light flux can be adjusted without getting up from the sofa.

Installing roller blinds on PVC windows without drilling the structure

Each model of roller blinds has its own installation nuances. The similarity lies in the fact that mini roller blinds, cassette blinds and mini cassette blinds are mounted without using a drill or other power tools.

At the first stage, all components for the roller blind are prepared. For greater convenience, you should lay them out on a horizontal surface so as not to lose small details.

The shaft with the canvas is held on the sash with plastic brackets. Semicircular parts have recesses and protruding parts that are connected to each other.

Important! Ready-made roller blinds are only suitable for standard windows. For window openings of an unusual shape, curtains are made according to individual orders.

Installing a mini roller blind on an opening sash

For a roller blind designed for an opening sash, you will need a shaft, a canvas, a lifting mechanism that works due to the movement of the chain, clips for fixing and double-sided adhesive tape.

  1. Adhesive tape is glued to the brackets so that they are attached to the window sash not only due to their curved shape. This ensures the reliability and stability of the design of the roller blind. Adhesive tape is glued only on a fat-free and dry surface. Degreasing allows you to clean plastic from fatty films and other contaminants that prevent a tight connection of parts.

  2. Next, the brackets are attached to the holders. The latter have protruding spikes and grooves. The connection of parts is carried out with the help of additional fastening.

  3. A lifting mechanism with a chain and holders with brackets are installed on the shaft.

  4. The next step is to align the roller blind. The structure is hooked to the top of the sash using brackets. This allows you to properly hang the shaft with the canvas on the window.

  5. Using a simple pencil, the exact location of the brackets is indicated. The outlined borders will allow the brackets with double-sided tape to be glued evenly and as tightly as possible to the frame.

  6. The window sash, on which the roller blind will be placed, is degreased with medical alcohol. Acetone and other aggressive substances should not be applied to PVC surfaces. As a result of a chemical reaction, the material may turn yellow. Dry the degreased surface thoroughly.

  7. The protective film is removed from the adhesive tape located on the bracket. The brackets themselves are hooked to the top of the window sash and pressed tightly.

  8. The clamps that the brackets are equipped with snap into place until they stop.

  9. We do the same with the second bracket, located at the opposite end of the window frame.

    Fasten the clamp of the second bracket

  10. The lifting mechanism of roller blinds is installed on that part of the bracket, which has a spike with a gear.

  11. The shaft with the canvas is inserted between the fixed brackets. Plastic is quite fragile material, so you should act as carefully as possible.

  12. At the last stage, how the roller blind rises and falls down is checked. The canvas completely covers the glass and rolls up due to the rotation of the shaft. The shaft begins to move with the help of a chain.

Installing a mini roller blind on a blind window sash

Installation of a roller blind for a blind sash is carried out without brackets-hooks. For installation, you will need side brackets with a gear.

  1. Before installing roller blinds on plastic windows, double-sided adhesive tape is glued to the grooved plates. The plastic surface of the parts is pre-degreased with the help of medical alcohol.

  2. The protective film is removed from the tape, the side brackets are connected to the plates.

  3. The photo shows how the details of the roller blind look, assembled together.

  4. The lifting mechanism is mounted on the gear, and the side brackets are inserted into the shaft.

  5. The assembled roller blind is applied to the sash and with a simple pencil it is noted how the structure will finally be located. The brackets are only held in place with adhesive tape.

  6. The junction of the surface of the window and plates with holders is carefully prepared. To do this, it is enough to treat the plastic with alcohol.

  7. The protective film is removed from the tape, the brackets are tightly applied to the window frame.

  8. At the end, a lifting chain mechanism is installed on the shaft with the canvas. The chain is put on from the side on which the gear is located. Next, the roller blind is folded and unfolded several times in order to check the health of the structure.

Important! Roller blinds are much easier to care for than blinds. Dirt and dust accumulate on vertical or horizontal plates and are difficult to remove. Roller blinds can be cleaned with detergents and periodically wiped with a piece of soft cloth.

Detailed instructions for installing cassette roller blinds

This model differs from others in the presence of guides. Many manufacturers have simplified the installation of cassette roller blinds by applying double-sided adhesive tape to the parts in advance. When installing a roller blind, it remains only to remove the protective film. These models are already almost assembled, and the canvas itself is under the box.

  1. The cassette roller blind box is attached to the top of the window frame. The surface of the double-glazed window is preliminarily degreased. Using a simple pencil, you need to mark up. The thinnest lines drawn with a pencil will allow you to hang a box with a canvas in the center. In no case should you hang a box with a curtain without first trying it on: there is a risk that the curtain will not fall into the guides located on both sides.

  2. The protective film is removed from the double-sided tape glued to the box. The entire structure should be pressed tightly against the top of the window surface.

  3. The method of gluing the guides is determined by the type of roller blind. Some are installed on the outside of the glazing bead, others - on the inside. Those designed for the inside are pressed tightly against the glass. The photo shows the installation of curtains with guides passing from the outside.
  4. Guides with adhesive tape are first applied to the box. If there is no double-sided adhesive tape, then it is applied independently after preliminary degreasing of the surfaces. It is necessary to treat the side in contact with the sash with alcohol.
  5. Next, 3-4 centimeters of the protective film are removed from the adhesive tape.

  6. The guide for the curtains is mounted in a box and connected to a double-glazed window.

  7. The guide must be held with one hand and the remaining protective film removed with the other hand.

  8. After the tape is cleared of the film, the guide is pressed tightly against the glazing bead. Do the same with the second guide.

  9. A roller blind is placed in the fixed guides. A ring is put on the lifting mechanism to fix the chain. It will prevent slippage on the gear.

  10. At the end, the roller blind is opened and closed to check the serviceability of the mechanism and the correct installation of all parts and components.

Installing cassette roller blinds on plastic windows without drilling is easier than other models. The main thing is to act extremely carefully and carefully. Correct marking is a guarantee of the correct installation of the box with a curtain and guides. No special tools are required for installation of the structure, the whole process will take no more than fifteen minutes.

Ergonomic roller blinds: how to fix, all installation methods

Roller blinds protect the room from the sun, give an original and colorful decorative look to any room. Roller blinds, how to fasten - this question arises among the newly minted owners of a fashionable and practical decoration for the window. Having appeared not so long ago, they have already become a favorite finishing touch in the design of window openings in residential and office premises. When choosing and installing curtains, it is necessary to take into account various nuances: the type and type of fasteners, their combination with heavy curtains or light curtains. All this will create comfort and eliminate the feeling of dissonance in the interior.

Methods for attaching roller blinds: typical features

A variety of models of roller blinds allows you to choose the most optimal option for you, depending on the functional purpose. Depending on the modification and window composition, roller blinds are attached to the ceiling, wall or directly to the window sash. Therefore, it is worth talking separately about the types of roll structures. There are two types: open and closed. Let's consider them in more detail.

Rolled structures of open type

Open roll structures allow you to mount curtains, both in the window and above it. Depending on the modification, there are several types of open fastening methods.

Among the most common:

The principle of operation of open roller blinds: the fabric is wound onto a shaft, and thanks to a heavy bar, they unwind and hang on the frame

  • Use of guides with a hook;
  • Fastening with mounting double-sided adhesive tape;
  • It is allowed to use hanger mounts that are not suitable for each frame;
  • Fastening with self-tapping screws is the simplest and most common way;

Open design types are considered multi-purpose. Among them, you can choose mechanisms that will allow you to fix the blinds not only on metal-plastic windows, but also on wooden ones. Manufacturers of roller blinds do not limit the flight of your design fantasy in any room.

Closed roll construction

When using a closed-type design in fastening roller curtains, several features must be taken into account. The main difference from the previous type is the presence of a box. If until recently it was believed that a closed-type structure for attaching a roller blind can only be fixed to plastic windows, today they can be seen on wooden and aluminum frames.

A shaft is hidden in closed roller blinds, along the edges there are guides that prevent the canvas from moving away or moving aside

There are designs of various sizes on the market. It is the size of the box that plays an important role when fastening curtains. When choosing an overall roller blind, you should choose a design with a large box and a durable roller shaft. In this case, the curtain is fixed on the ceiling. If it is possible to use guides, do not neglect them.

However, regardless of the type of construction, the principle of fastening and the operation of the mechanism are the same. With the help of a roller blind, you can darken the room at any time or, by lifting the curtain, let the sun's rays fill the room with their cheerfulness.

Installation of roller blinds: caution and accuracy

Roller blinds have quickly become fashionable and are gaining more and more popularity. They are a fabric sheet wound on a special shaft with the help of control mechanisms and fixed in any position at a level that is comfortable for you. There are a number of rules that must be observed when installing a roller blind system.

It is worth using roller blinds very carefully, since they have plastic parts for fasteners.

Let's take as an example the installation of one of the types of roller blind design:

  1. Carefully unpack and check that all accessories are included. Dissolve the control chain and remove the side covers from the eaves;
  2. Attach the cornice to the window and check how symmetrical the gap is between the window and the curtain;
  3. Mark the places of the intended fasteners;
  4. Fix the cornice on the vertical bar of the window with self-tapping screws;
  5. Put covers on the control unit and check the fastening;
  6. Before gluing the side rails, degrease the gluing points with acetone;
  7. Next, remove the protective film from the side guide and glue the upper edge under the cover of the control unit. You also need to do with the guide on the other side of the box;
  8. Lower the curtain with the control chain to the rubber seal and install the limiter;
  9. The next step is to install the control circuit locking device using self-tapping screws, put on and snap the box cover.

It is best to purchase custom-made roller blinds, so you save yourself the trouble of adjusting the curtains to fit your window.

After installation, it is necessary to check the working condition of the entire structure. These simple steps for installing one of the types of roller blinds will allow you to not only fix it correctly, but also extend the life of the curtains.

How to assemble roller blinds: according to instructions or by intuition

The versatility of roller blinds gives a special uniqueness to the interior: subdued sunlight, comfortable room temperature create an atmosphere of comfort in the room. Many models of curtains and methods of their fastening have been developed, but the most popular are roll-cassette, which can be mounted not only on the window sash inside, but also outside.

When buying roller blinds, first of all, you should pay attention to the quality of the mechanisms and the fabric used.

The existing fastening features allow you to choose those models of curtains that, while remaining almost invisible, create an atmosphere of coziness and comfort in the room.

When assembling and installing roller blinds on a window, you should not blindly trust your intuition. In this case, extra fasteners may remain, and the curtain will soon cease to protect the room from the sun. Following the instructions step by step will save you time and nerves and will extend the life of the curtains. It is possible that when buying rolled curtains, you should simultaneously order not only curtains, but also their installation.

A roller blind is simply indispensable in a bedroom or nursery, as its mechanism is distinguished by the absence of extraneous noise. Silent operation of the mechanism of roller blinds is one of the main characteristics that the buyer pays attention to in the first place.

Sometimes ready-made roller blinds do not always fit the size of the window, in this case, before installing them, you should reduce their width.

When checking the system, even the slightest noise should alert you, signaling the presence of a defect in the design itself or of violations during assembly.

The choice of installation of roller blinds directly depends on your needs. When buying, consider not only the comfort of mounting the system, but also the type of window.

Installation of mini-curtains roller with guide strings

Roller mini-blinds are an ideal option for blind windows or with a tilt-and-turn opening mechanism, and are also used if you want to hide niches in the room from prying eyes. Installing a mini roller blind with guide strings will take a minimum of time if you first read the illustrated instructions in as much detail as possible.

As a rule, roller blinds are purchased for compact installation on individual window sashes.

Designs of mini-curtains are sold unassembled.

For this reason, not only assembly, but also the unpacking process requires care:

  • Before installation, check that all accessories are present;
  • If necessary, cut the curtain fabric and fasten it to the shaft;
  • Next, we thread the fishing line into the holes of the mounting corners, after tying the edge into a knot;
  • We do the same with the second edge;
  • After that, you need to cut the fishing line;
  • Carefully insert the plastic capsules into the edge of the shaft.

Now it remains only to snap the edges of the capsules of the mounting brackets and the roller blind is ready for operation.

Following the rules for installing roller blind designs will allow you to enjoy comfort in any room for longer.

The process of installing mini-blinds with guide strings is easy and not particularly different from other methods of attaching curtains to window sashes with a similar opening mechanism.

Plastic windows have proven themselves in the construction market, are in great demand among the population. Together with them, roller blinds began to come into fashion as an integral element of the interior. The easy-to-handle design helps decorate and darken the room without taking up extra space.

A diverse design of the material allows you to bring new colors to the design of the room, to create a style. They go well with ordinary curtains, tulle, and are used as an independent element. They have certain advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages

There are a lot of positive aspects in using roller blinds. Let's take a look at the main ones.

  1. Diverse structure: fabrics can be fabric (cotton, polyester, silk, linen) or PVC fabric.
  2. A large selection of colors and shades: curtains are sold in plain, multi-colored, photo printing of paintings, complex patterns is possible on them.
  3. The choice of web thickness: thin (almost transparent) or dense.
  4. The composition of the impregnation protects against fading, pollution, unraveling of threads, wetting from water.
  5. Some models have heat-insulating and anti-reflective properties:
  6. Curtains are compact, leave a lot of space on the windowsill.
  7. For a bedroom and an office with a computer, two-layer models are used (the inner layer is fabric, the outer one is a reflective screen).
  8. They can be mounted on separate doors and do not interfere with their opening.
  9. Low maintenance, easy to clean.
  10. Do not require ironing, do not wrinkle.
  11. Durable in use.

All these advantages allow you to safely use them in the children's room, bedroom, living room, even in the kitchen and bathroom.

disadvantages

They are so insignificant that many do not pay attention to them.

  1. Fasteners are plastic, break if not handled properly.
  2. It is strictly forbidden to wash in water.
  3. They absorb odors in the kitchen.
  4. With closed curtains installed inside or outside the window opening, it is impossible to open the sashes to ventilate the room.

Location

Many housewives are wondering: "Where and how to install roller blinds?" First you need to determine their convenient location.

You can hang roller blinds on a plastic window with your own hands in 3 options, depending on the position of the brackets:

  • directly on the sash;
  • inside the opening at a small distance from the frame;
  • outside the window opening.

Therefore, the installation of roller blinds on plastic windows will be slightly different.

Varieties of models

Roller blinds come in 2 types according to the type of mechanism.

  • Open. The fabric is wound open on the shaft. Due to the weighting bar, when unwinding, it hangs on the frame.
  • Closed. A shaft is hidden inside the box. Along the edges, the guides do not allow the canvas to move to the side.

Installing brackets

In order to save the family budget, all assembly work can be done by hand, without involving specialists, following the general rules.

  1. For brackets, mark the attachment points.
  2. Check the correctness of the markup by applying the cassette.
  3. Attach the brackets. When installing not on the sash, you will need to drill holes in the concrete with a puncher, use wooden plugs for screws.
  4. The fabric with the shaft is inserted into the grooves until it clicks.
  5. Using the chain, unfold the curtain, leaving 1 turn of the canvas.
  6. A lock is fixed in the upper part of the control mechanism.

You can hang curtains with your own hands directly on the sashes of a plastic window using self-tapping screws. This option is most convenient during operation, the fastening is reliable, it does not interfere with the use of a window sill, watering flowers.

  • The line connecting the brackets must be strictly horizontal. Determine it using the building level.
  • Do not use adhesive tape to attach the curtain to the frame. From the heating of the sun, it deteriorates, and the whole structure falls.
  • It is better not to purchase ready-made designs. An individual order will allow you not to adjust the curtains with your own hands to the size of the plastic window.
  • Pay attention to the quality of mechanisms and fabrics. Hanging cheap products is easy, using them will be problematic.
  • Choose the type of dimming you need. It is not possible to change it further.
  • Closed mechanisms allow you to keep a clean and beautiful look of the fabric for longer.

Installation of a closed type product

Do-it-yourself assembly of a closed mechanism on a plastic window is carried out as follows.

  1. Degrease the surface of the frame with technical alcohol.
  2. Determine the right and left guides by applying them to the window (bottom side protrusion).
  3. Mark on top the place where the guides end.
  4. Remove the side covers from the box with a slight movement towards you.
  5. Pulling the chain, unfold the fabric to the end.
  6. Remove the protective film from the sticky part of the box, apply it to the upper edge of the glazing bead strictly in the center.
  7. Make a mark with an awl and fix it with a self-tapping screw on the opposite side of the mechanism.
  8. By moving the loose edge, they achieve a parallel arrangement of the fabric relative to the side glazing beads.
  9. Attach the other end of the box.
  10. Release the sticky layer of the guides from the protective tape. Glue at the markup.
  11. Return protective covers for the box.

Width change

Roll-type factory mechanisms do not always fit the size of the window. Before assembly, you have to reduce their width. What does that require?

  • The material is unfolded, the plugs are removed from the shaft.
  • Remove the weighting agent from the bottom.
  • Mark with a pencil the required width of the fabric, cut off the excess with scissors.
  • The upper shaft is cut to the width of the opening (8 mm longer than the material).
  • The weighting bar is shortened by 1.5 cm less than the canvas.
  • Reinsert the lower bar and shaft plugs.
  • With the help of a chain, the material is wound onto the shaft, leaving 5 cm of the edge hanging down.
  • Next, install the mechanism according to the general rules.

Product care

  1. Dry cleaning with a vacuum cleaner with brush attachments.
  2. Wet wipe with a neutral soapy solution with a soft sponge.
  3. Removal of light soiling with a natural stain remover.
  4. During cooking, the curtains are raised.
  5. Careful folding avoids creases.
  6. Dry in expanded form to prevent deformation of the canvas.
  7. Soaking in water leads to a deterioration in the protective properties.

Hanging roller blinds on plastic windows is not difficult. They will help transform the interior and choose the "view outside the window." Any drawings are set by the method of photo printing. On a cloudy day, beautiful pictures of the winter forest or flowering sakura branches will cheer you up, give the room a cozy, warm atmosphere. Roller blinds in the nursery can be decorated with images of your favorite characters from fairy tales and cartoons.

Attic windows that are tilted cannot be decorated with ordinary curtains. A roll-type mechanism with a closed system will be indispensable here. It will help protect the room from direct sunlight, create coolness in the summer heat, keep warm in the winter cold.
