The angle of inclination of the legs of the support with respect to each other must be 40 degrees. The distance between the two supports is from 180 to 220 cm. The 15 cm wide crossbar that fastens the two beams can be duplicated. One at a height of 20 cm from the ground, the second - about 100 cm from the ground.

With rigid backlash-free mounting of supports on studs, additional ties are not required. However, if there is a possibility of instability (the supporting surface is loose), then it is better to make an additional screed with a beam. It can also be attached to the ground or other surface with staples or studs for strength.

If it is not possible to attach the swing with brackets, then the beam will have to be dug in, respectively, the height of the beam for support is taken 50 cm more than initially. Before installation, the base must be treated with antiseptics and bioprotective oils (you can simply immerse the ends of the timber in recycled oil). Put the racks in the holes, sprinkle with rubble and pour concrete.

If reliability is more important to you than aesthetics, then the cross beam on which the ropes will be attached can be placed on top of the crossed support posts.

Additionally, pull the crossbar with two beams, fasten with nails. Pull the racks to each other with studs. You can also nail additional fasteners on nails and studs in the area where the racks are connected (like fastenings for shelves in a closet), and put a horizontal bar on top and pull it with studs to the racks.

How to make a bench?

There are a lot of hanging benches for swings. The simplest can be made without complex machines and calculations. The seat consists of three bars-beams 48-50 cm long, placed on the end and three boards nailed on top. The back is three more bars of 70 cm each, laid horizontally, and three boards nailed to them. The bars of the backrest are screwed to the bars of the seat - the bench is ready. To attach ropes to it, holes are drilled in the bars of the seat, the rope is tied in a knot. The rope is attached to the back with hooks driven into the beam.

If a bench with armrests is required, then two frames in the form of a ladle are initially made(the angle of inclination of the “bucket handle” will determine the angle of inclination of the seat back), and then boards or bars for the seat and back are stuffed on them.

How to fix?

The simplest fastener is to tie the ropes to the beam using a “horse” knot. With this knot, horses are tied to pegs in the pasture. If the horse pulls on the rope (in our case, the swing acts as a horse), the rope is tightened more. However, to untie the horse from the peg, you just need to pull the other end of the rope. The advantages of fastening include the simplicity of the knot itself. The disadvantage of this method can be considered a long alignment of all four corners of the bench at a horizontal level.

The second way is to drill through the crossbar and insert a bolt into the hole, which is tightened with an eye-nut (a nut in the form of a ring). Washers are placed under the bolt head so that the head does not push through the tree. A rope, cable, chain is pulled into the nut hole, a carabiner is hung.

If you want to make a swing for adults or hang a sofa on a chain, then it is better to use fasteners that can withstand a weight of 500 kg or more. You can buy such fasteners in a specialized rigging store.
