So why not use the motives of hot exotic countries and upgrade your apartment? Even in the northernmost cities, you can feel warmth and summer mood at home all year round.

Primary colors
All shades of yellow, orange, green.

Furniture selection
Bamboo, wicker, light wood furniture.

Plants
Pay attention to such exotic plants: dieffenbachia, cycas, yucca. Although any vegetation with bright green and lush foliage will do here, which will give the impression of rainforests.

Chic and modern

To date, there are two areas in which tropical style is distinguished in the interior: chic and modern. Chic implies a special sophistication of the interior, which can be achieved with the help of a certain design of furniture. Use upholstery made of natural fabrics, bright capes and pillows. At the same time, the furniture should be low, and the floor should be deliberately rough. Tall vases, ethnic figurines, tall plants will be suitable details.

Tropical modern combines the brightness of exotic countries with the classics. This area is characterized by simple but comfortable furniture. Colors are chosen light with skillful use of contrasting details. Unlike chic, modern is more calm and restrained.

Natural colors and materials, pleasant to the touch natural textures - all this characterizes the tropical style in the interior. It suggests a very thin line between a pattern and a solid color - it is important not to overdo it. With careful use of colors and accents, you can achieve a luxurious interior with exotic motifs.

Recently, ethnic interior styles have become quite popular. These are not even styles, but a stylization of the interior with a predominance of features characteristic of any country, area or region. One of these styles is the tropical style. Recently, this style has become more and more popular. Now a lot of spas are decorating the interior of the room with a touch of tropical motifs, and hotel lounges often use this style of decoration to add color. Those who want a simple and energetic space create a tropical-style interior at home. You can create an atmosphere of the tropics even in an apartment in a northern city, you just need to know a few simple rules.

Tropical style mixes many cultures and traditions into a coherent whole. It simply radiates calmness and warmth and invites you to relax. It perfectly combines elegant simplicity, exotic motifs and a sea of sunlight. Characteristic features of the design of the room, decorated in a tropical style, will be pastel colors in all shades of yellow, orange and green. Priority in the choice of furniture should be given to bamboo and wicker, and wood, from light woods. Bright exotic plants of the tropics are used as accessories in the interior. It can be yucca, dieffenbachia, cycas - this is already a more exotic representative of the tropics. But if you figure it out, then any plant with lush green or brightly variegated foliage will do. All of them will be associated with the rainforest.

For floors and walls of tropical design, natural stone or its imitation is used. The resulting interior can be decorated with woven mats, rugs with bright patterns or juicy sofa cushions. Indeed, the main distinguishing features of the tropical style in interior design can be considered brightness and exoticism.

Today, in tropical design, two main directions can be distinguished: tropical chic and tropical modern. The name tropical chic speaks for itself: it implies the achievement of a special sophistication in the interior. This can be achieved by using a special design of furniture.

To decorate the interior in a tropical chic style, furniture made of wood, bamboo or wicker is preferable, but it is not just used, but must be upholstered with natural fabric, covered with capes of bright colors on top, and no less bright pillows are used for the finishing touch. Typically, furniture in this style is not very tall, but rather squat. The floors are made deliberately in a rough manner, because they are in perfect harmony with low pieces of furniture - armchairs and sofas.

A variety of accessories will add tropical exoticism: vases, floor lamps, figurines. They will help to give the interior the impression of a tropical forest, for this they should rise above the furniture. High ethnic vases, figurines, strict tropical plants will rise to the ceiling and add mystery to the interior. Accents can be placed using ivory or wood carvings. It can be a mask, African or tropical style. It can be hung on the wall or placed on a shelf that can hold a cage with a parrot or other exotic birds. Any art objects can be added to the design of this style, but you need to make sure that the color and material of the object match the overall color scheme of the room.

Tropical modern combines the restraint of the classics with Latin American elegance and brightness. Interior design in tropical modern style retains a combination of horizontal orientation with vertical decorative elements. The furniture used is simpler, not so elegant, but no less comfortable. The color scheme abounds in light tones, with a skillful emphasis on bright decor items. Tropical modern is more restrained and calm, in relation to tropical chic, which is aimed at elegance.

Tropical style celebrates natural textures, so pleasant to the touch. He is very picky about the balance between solid color and patterned, the main thing is not to overdo it. At the heart of any tropical style lies a strong reliance on natural materials and colors. With the proper attention to color hues and the right choice of accents, tropical chic style is fairly easy to achieve and create a vibrant space.

To be in the hot tropics, it is not necessary to go on a long journey, because you can create a piece of paradise at home. Just learn how to decorate a relaxing and cozy tropical interior.

The tropical direction is not a style, but a stylization. The trend appeared recently, but is already rapidly spreading and managed to penetrate into interiors. The concept has features and is associated with hot tropics, exotic countries, island resorts, bright sun, warm sea, white sandy beach, cozy bungalows.

Tropical style is used and relevant in 2018. The popularity is understandable: everyone wants, when they come home, to find themselves in a heavenly place, a relaxing, relaxed atmosphere that inspires relaxation and positive thoughts. And this is possible, because associations with the tropics can be traced in design: furniture, colors, finishes, materials, accessories, textiles. The style has features, and they are discussed in detail below.

Colors and prints

The tropics are reflected in the range of the interior, which has natural shades of sand, sea waves and foam, sky and clouds, sunlight, sunsets and sunrises, tropical fruits, trees, greenery, water depths and their inhabitants. And these are the following colors: soft blue, yellow, coral, lemon, light green, blue, orange, terracotta, beige, sand.

Since it is hot and sunny in the tropics, they are taken as a basis, and saturated and bright ones are used to place accents. One of the options is a snow-white background, diluted with a bright light color and complemented by rich spots.

Sunny natural shades are diluted with tropical prints. Plants are appropriate: creepers, palm branches, intertwined leaves reminiscent of an impenetrable jungle, exotic tropical flowers. Harmoniously in a tropical interior, images of birds living in hot countries will look: hummingbirds, pelicans, flamingos, gulls. Insects and reptiles are appropriate, but such patterns are not for everybody.

Animal prints are non-aggressive: elephants, giraffes, monkeys, zebras. And not the color, but the figures: contour or with traced features. A popular pattern is colorful multi-colored feathers. Ethnic motifs, for example, African ones, can be introduced into the design in moderation and dosed.

Advice! Do not be afraid to create a multi-color range, because in the wild the tropics are a riot of different colors. But plain surfaces must be skillfully combined with patterned ones so as not to overload the interior. And follow the measure so that the design does not seem colorful.

Finishing

The decoration is simple and natural, reminiscent of a bungalow or even a hut in the tropics. Plastering will create an imitation of clay-covered walls, and it is allowed to apply it casually, with sloppy masks or creating chaotic relief patterns with a spatula. Another lining option is light paint: white, pale yellow, milky. Part of the wall or the entire side can be highlighted with panels or panels made of cork, bamboo or jute. For an accent, photo wallpapers with the image of the seashore or beach, as well as variations with stylized drawings of palm trees and trees with exotic fruits, are suitable.

The floors can be made of plank, finished with parquet or laminate. A large selection of modern linoleum allows you to find themed tropical patterns: palm or bamboo branches, rattan rods. The original version is 3D self-leveling floors depicting sea sand or the sea. Realistic print excites the imagination, gives the impression of being in the tropics. The ceiling is simple and no frills: bleached or plastered, always light, for example, white, milky or beige.

Furnishings

Furniture should not be much, because in the tropics it is not needed. Do not overload the interior and use the most necessary items. Choose wicker rattan furniture, it sets you up for relaxation. Simple models made of dark woods are suitable, complemented by soft upholstery, for example, made of leather or simple and somewhat coarse natural materials: cloth, jute, cotton. Fabrics can be plain or decorated with tropical prints.

Advice! You should not buy elegant and sophisticated furniture, it will not fit into the tropical concept. Items should be simple, as if made by hand from improvised materials found on a desert island or in the jungle.

Plants

What are the tropics without vegetation? And it is better to choose exotic plants to enliven the interior and maintain the concept: palm trees, creepers, woody ones. These are yucca, dieffenbachia, cycas, bamboo, lemon tree, bokarnea, bashful mimosa, tuberose, caladium, lithops.

Plants are planted in clay or ceramic pots, reminiscent of tubs made of natural unbaked clay. You can use wooden planters, but plastic will break the concept. Pots can be decorated with stylized prints, such as exotic animals.

The number of plants depends on the area of \u200b\u200bthe room and free time, because representatives of the flora require care and free space. If there is no opportunity to turn the room into the tropics, put a large palm tree in the corner and place a couple of pots on the windowsill or furniture.

Decor

For interior decor, use original exotic accessories: bamboo mats, rugs in the form of animal skins, ethnic figurines and totems, tribal masks, simple wooden or earthenware, vases with images of tropical birds, insects and animals, a large fan on the wall, feathers, panels of natural materials (stones, branches). And if you have long dreamed of a pet, get a bright parrot.

The tropical interior is decorated with textiles that give comfort. Fabrics are natural and breathable, minimally processed, quite dense. No synthetics, overflows and shine are also needed. But interesting prints will refresh the design: flowers, exotic fruits, palm trees, colorful birds, jungle dwellers. Pillows and bedspreads are used as textile filling of the interior.

To create a comfortable microclimate and maintain a tropical concept, purchase a ceiling fan with dark wooden or wicker blades. In such an interior, it will not look ridiculous and old-fashioned and, on the contrary, will become an original accent.

Advice! Close the doorway of the room, which does not have to be isolated with a door, with muslin curtains, consisting of threads with wooden beads strung on them.

Lighting

There should be a lot of natural sunlight, so do not cover the window (well, if it is large) with thick multilayer curtains. Choose plain curtains, fabric blinds or roller blinds.

Diffuse artificial lighting to create the feeling of palm trees penetrating the foliage and filling the space with rays. But it is possible to equip a central source, supplementing it with local ones. Plafonds of simple shapes made of fabrics are welcome. It will be interesting to look at the lamp in the form of an exotic blooming flower.

Tropics in different rooms

Consider the design options for the tropical interior of different rooms:

  • In the living room in the center, put a comfortable sofa of simple shapes with dark leather or coarse textile upholstery. A laconic wicker or dark wood coffee table will stand next to it.
  • In the bedroom, the central place will be occupied by a simple low bed, covered with a light canopy that protects from the bright sun. It is better to hide the closet in a niche and disguise it or choose a simple wardrobe model made of dark wood.
  • In the kitchen, a dining group may consist of wicker chairs and a table. Wooden objects, but simple and without frills, will do (for example, stools with round seats instead of chairs with backs).
  • In the bathroom, a tropical print is present on ceramic tiles. Maintain a characteristic range, choose stylized accessories with patterns: towels, curtains, a screen.

The interior in a tropical style is not difficult if you know the features of the theme. Recommendations and photo examples will guide you and help you think of an original, relaxing, colorful and cozy design.

like in Bali...

tropical interior style, it is also associated with the British colonial style.

Probably many vacationed on the islands, in the Dominican Republic, Thailand.

If beautiful visions of a tropical island do not let you go, do not longingly wait for a vacation. Create a tropical interior in your home. This is much easier than it might seem at first. Of course, the most ideal version of a tropical-style interior is a palm tree growing outside the window, but we will put it aside for now and try to choose the one that suits our ability and means among the options presented.

The first thing that comes to mind for solving the problem is bright greenery. Not everyone can afford to plant a 30-meter date palm, so let's look for simpler options. Yucca, dieffenbachia, and so are found in almost every plant-loving home. Cycas is a more exotic representative of the tropics. In general, any plant with lush green or brightly variegated foliage will do, if there is no calathea, take a brightly colored begonia or a large ficus. Even a lemon tree can already hint at the rainforest.

If the tropics did not have such lush and lush vegetation, they would look like the southern version of the tundra. Populate your home with live tropical plants in tubs and pots. You can limit yourself to only leafy plants, or opt for flowering plants such as bougainvillea or hibiscus. Just don't turn your home into an Amazon jungle branch!

Move on. Furniture? The ideal furniture option is bamboo, rattan or wood. But even if you have traditional upholstered furniture, you can bring elements of tropical exoticism with the help of individual accessories. Ethnic vase, figurine or mask on the wall. A table made of branches or a whole log. Rattan screen or bamboo finished shelves. Plaid or pillows with animal print. An aquarium or a picture suitable in color and content. In general, there are a lot of options.

Almost everything can be wicker from rattan, almost all pieces of furniture - chests of drawers and tables, bedside tables, dining tables, armchairs and sofas, and so on. If upholstered furniture is used in the interior, it can be both with fabric and leather upholstery, while you only need to observe the color scheme - natural, natural shades. And yet, the upholstery should be only one-color.

In the interior of the kitchen, furniture facades are used that imitate a mat or wickerwork. As for bulky, massive large wardrobes or wardrobes, they are not very appropriate in a tropical style; it is better to use niches in the interior, chests of drawers and cabinets for storing things.

The "tropical" bedroom is decorated with a large bed with a canopy or canopy. And the most successful furniture solution is bamboo furniture and rough natural wood furniture that looks like it was hastily knocked together from everything that at that time was at hand.

tropical style mixes many cultures and traditions into a coherent whole. Lazy and nonchalant, this style is like a cauldron that boils "native" materials, elegant simplicity, exotic motifs and lots of sunshine.

Today, the so-called tropical style can be attributed to the best interiors in the world. Tropical styling is often used by interior designers to decorate spas, chill-outs, living rooms in southern hotels, and bedroom interiors.

The tropical-style interior promotes relaxation, as most of us associate with relaxing on the coast of resorts. Even in an apartment in northern cities, it is absolutely not difficult to recreate the atmosphere of the southern hot tropics, you only need to know the simple rules for creating an interior in a tropical style.

Color in a tropical interior

The colors in the interior should be calm, pastel, mostly warm shades - yellow is perfect in the interior of the "tropics" and its shades - beige, cream, and so on, orange, peach, green, its shades - pale lemon, olive, yellow-green, grassy. In a tropical interior, the full abundance of the color of natural wood - both light and almost white, is quite appropriate and a dark color.

Gamma shades from pale, transparent to bold, bright. In a tropical interior style, the whole spectrum of green and blue is welcome. You can paint the walls in light tropical colors yourself. Add decorative elements in the form of drawings in marine color. (Speaking of the sea, it means both coral shades and marine elements on towels, bedspreads).

Tropical finish

Interior decoration of the floor - natural wooden board, ceramic tiles, carpet-mat in warm shades - terracotta, chocolate, and other colors. In the center of the room, you can place a rectangular or round rug - either soft with a high pile, or wicker. The interior of the walls is monophonic, calm colors. The walls can be decorated very simply - painted with white paint or pasted over with textured wallpaper for painting or colored. You can use wall painting in the interior - decorate plain walls with images of palm trees and elephants, you can use vinyl stickers instead of painting in a tropical style interior. The ceilings are preferably white plain color, but under the ceiling there are simple wooden beams. If you want to make the ceiling more fancy - it is appropriate to sheathe it with wood.

When creating a tropical interior, you can use natural pebbles - both floors and walls can be laid with pebble tiles, you can make one accent wall in a pebble interior, for example, in a bathroom or kitchen.

Special mention deserves a variety of floor and wall coverings. In addition to wood, this can be a stylization of wild stones (note that in the photographs there are such interiors where stone plays a much greater role than wood or greenery), cork, ordinary laminate (but with a bright pattern), a carpet that imitates the skin, and even the most ordinary small pebbles, pebbles. Another win-win option for walls is photo wallpaper. On the wall, you can capture a palm forest, colorful birds or just the ocean beaches. If you are really interested in how and what the style is made up of, we suggest that you do a simple exercise for practice: look at each photo from the selection and try to find all the details that create the overall tropical style in the interior. Maybe you will immediately pick up ideas for your house, sorry, tropical bungalow.

Wicker textures

From jute and sisal to wicker and bamboo, the tropical style celebrates natural textures that are so pleasant to the touch. Feel free to choose wicker and rattan furniture, coarse weave carpets and baskets of all shapes and types as accents. We hang a mat or a collection of straw hats on the wall to enhance the exotic atmosphere.

Just try it: You don't need to decorate your rooms literally from floor to ceiling with wicker materials. Start small. Create an accent wall with natural algae wallpaper or panel mats. If this decor seems too much for you, just opt for carpets made from natural materials such as sisal, which are ideal for creating a tropical interior.

Tropical Decor

Only in the bedrooms and solemn lush living rooms - floor-length curtains, long and as simple as possible, without decor. It is better, of course, to give preference to a simple Roman blind, light tulle or wooden blinds.

As for textiles, fabric draperies in the spirit of tropical spacious verandas and patios decorate walls and ceilings, doorways and even ceilings with fabric draperies.

And do not forget about the large number of living indoor plants, especially dracaena and palm trees will fit perfectly. The more green plants in your tropical interior, the more pronounced the style will be. As a decor, you can use woven and wicker panels, beautiful openwork screens, palm branches, oriental souvenirs and objects, marine-themed items, bead curtains, baskets with natural or artificial fruits, vases with flowers, decorative containers with sea sand or filled to the top with petals roses.

And it would be nice to place fish or a cage with bright multi-colored parrots, yellow canaries or other tropical birds - after all, you cannot do without them in a tropical interior.

Carpets with a similar theme will help decorate the room.
In the event that you do not want to make a too saturated interior, then calm tropics will suit you. Choose a calm color with a thematic pattern, a couple of pictures that will fit into this room. Well, if there is enough space in the room, do not forget about the palm tree. It will create freshness in the room and will be a great addition to the general background.

Focus on tropical foliage
Whether it's natural plants, fabrics or wallpapers, nothing captures the atmosphere of a tropical home quite like images of large leaves. It can be banana leaves or a variety of lush tropical vegetation. This works especially well in a space such as an entryway, living room, breakfast nook, or even an outdoor seating area. Of course, if it is not possible to grow tropical flora where you live, it is better to depict it on fabrics, wallpapers or accessories.

Preference can be given to Roman blinds and wood or the same bamboo and light tulle. If you want your decor to be of high quality, then use wicker panels, palm leaves, images of elephants, oriental souvenirs.

Style secret: Juicy prints

Randomly mix traditional floral patterns, wavy lines, or stark stripes to create the most exuberant colors. Choose a large ornament with well-defined borders: palm leaves, plumeria, banana leaves. Or use the universal classic patterns with the widest geography of distribution, for example, ikat or batik.

Just try it: Keep the balance between plain and patterned. Colors can be the most juicy, but do not overdo it with their number. Dark green like palm trees, rich red, fuchsia or bright yellow like tropical flowers, deep blue like the sea surface - these are the shades that need to be mixed, but not shaken, to get your tropical cocktail.

exotic woods

Brazil walnut, wenge, teak and other tropical woods are ideal for this style, and almost all at the same time. Remember that tropical style is a story about how to live without straining. Therefore, mix and match any exotic wood species without thinking about their ability to combine. If you prefer dark wood, then you are moving towards Bali or the British colonies, while lighter wood is associated with the Caribbean and Central America.

Just try it: All the beauty of exotic wood lies in its natural pattern - waves, stripes, veins, spots, so do not prevent all this diversity from unfolding in the interior of your home. Let the wood pattern become the main decoration of the room - whether it is the headboard in the bedroom, the coffee table in the interior of the living room or the front of the kitchen furniture.

outdoor life

If you prefer to hibernate within four walls, you should decorate your house in the style of the Chukchi tent. The tropical interior hardly distinguishes where the room ends and the street begins.

Of course, living in a cold climate, you won't be spending so much time outdoors, but you can always figure out how to combine the theme of the house and the theme of the street in the interior of the rooms. Arrange the furniture in your living room so that it resembles a large spacious veranda, where you can sunbathe and drink ice-cold cocktails while sitting in chairs.

Just give it a try: We're not urging you to add a large terrace to your home as a matter of urgency. Tapestries, wooden blinds, screens made of natural fabrics - these are the tools with which you can delimit the living space. If you look closely, they are so reminiscent of beach cabanas!

And don't forget the sun loungers and folding wooden chairs with armrests to really feel like you're on the beach. Well, the most convincing decorating technique will be an ordinary hammock - we guarantee that you will like it!

Pebbles are an essential feature of a tropical-style interior. It can be used as a wall decoration in the bathroom or kitchen, put into flower pots or an aquarium, put as a floor covering in the living room.

Louvered shutters are often used in the Caribbean to block out the sun without blocking the ocean breeze from entering the home. Bermuda or Bahamian shutters will definitely create an atmosphere of relaxation, like on a distant island in the ocean.

Just try it: Try tropical storm decor with shutters that have been lightly damaged by the elements. Wood and the skillful hands of decorators are always at your service, as long as you explain exactly what effect you want to achieve. It is not at all necessary to hang such shutters on the windows - you can build anything from them - from a screen and cabinet doors to a headboard.

Ceiling fans

You can think all you want about ceiling fans - that it's old-fashioned and ugly, for example, or that everyone has air conditioners now ... But in hot climates, fans are vital: they allow air to circulate freely and create a feeling of ocean breeze blowing inside your home.

Plus, partly thanks to them, that relaxing atmosphere that is characteristic of the tropical style arises: the soft, quiet and monotonous noise of the fan will lull even a chronic insomniac sufferer.

Just try it: There will always be tropical style fans, you don't even have to worry about it. Among other things, modern fans have flexible control, which can be carried out from the remote control. When the fan is running, its blades spin so fast that they are almost invisible on your ceiling. And don't tell us anything about air conditioners! In the real tropics, people trust their home climate to fans.

In tropical design, there are two main directions - the so-called tropical chic and tropical modern. Tropical chic means achieving a special sophistication in the interior. This happens by using a special design of furniture.

the furniture is upholstered with some kind of natural fabric, covered with decorative bedspreads of rich colors, and no less bright pillows are placed on top of such furniture. All pieces of furniture in the style of tropical chic are spacious and have a small height, squat. The floors are made in a deliberately rough manner; low pieces of furniture - armchairs and sofas - harmonize very well with them.

In contrast to them, various vases, statues, and tropical plants stretch upwards. All this creates a unique atmosphere of the tropical jungle, and if there is still room in the interior for one or more cages with parrots or other exotic birds, as well as images of tropical animals, then the feeling of being in the tropics will be complete.

Unlike tropical chic, tropical modern style combines the restraint of classics with Latin American elegance and brightness. It also uses low-rise furniture in combination with elements of decor directed upwards, but the space is less crowded, it has more free space. The furniture used is not so elegant, its design is simpler, but this makes it no less comfortable. The color scheme is the same as in tropical chic, but in tropical modern everything is somewhat more restrained and calm.
