The Orion ISO includes 116 instruments and devices and 33 software products, but the principle of building the system is easy to understand using a simple three-level model.

On small-sized or complex objects, Orion ISO is limited to the use of one or more instruments in stand-alone mode (lower level). At the same time, the capabilities of the system are determined by the functionality of each device. In this way, it is possible to implement security and fire alarm systems, simple access control and fire alarm systems, local automation of gas and powder fire extinguishing. Integration in this case is limited to a simple transfer of signals from one system to another using the relay outputs of the devices. The user can control such systems directly at the installation site of the devices using built-in or plug-in devices: buttons and readers. All devices, as a rule, are mounted in one protected room - at the guard post or in the control room.

To switch to a “distributed” security system, the Orion ISO middle level is used, in which a control panel (network controller) and auxiliary devices are added to the lower-level devices: keyboards, relay modules, display units, etc.

The control panel performs two main functions: 1) hardware integration of individual instruments and devices using a single RS-485 system interface and communication lines; 2) information association of equipment using a common information exchange protocol. Additionally, the control panel has a built-in keyboard and indication used by the user for centralized remote control of the security system. Due to the different configuration (“bus”, “tree”, “ring”), communication lines expand the topology of simple radial alarm loops and allow increasing the distance from the guard post to the last detector by several kilometers. Auxiliary devices are used by the user to control the system and obtain the necessary information from it in the right form anywhere in the facility. To ensure high reliability, the main ISO Orion devices are equipped with the function of switching to autonomous operation in the event of a communication failure with the control panel.

Thus, the average level of construction of ISO "Orion" is characterized by the following qualitative features:

  • all devices communicate with the control panel
  • devices with different functions without loss of interconnection can be spaced around the territory of the facility, mounted in separate rooms (hardware rooms) or in places inaccessible to outsiders (ceiling space)
  • burglar alarm management capabilities are expanded by combining alarm loops into groups (security sections)
  • a centralized key database appears in the access control system
  • the number of devices and auxiliary devices in the system is determined by the capabilities of the control panel
  • cross logical connections are formed between the alarm loops of one device and the relay outputs of another
  • information commands transmitted over a common communication line are replacing relay control signals and associated connecting cables
  • automated control procedures for security sections (groups of alarm loops) and groups of relay outputs
  • integration of the video surveillance subsystem is limited to the use of relays
  • integration between security subsystems operates at the level of interconnection between several events, while the system response is formed using standard control algorithms specified in the control panel
The top level of building ISO "Orion" is fully based on the use of system software. The software is usually used in the following cases: 1) the facility requires the organization of a round-the-clock security post or control room with automated workstations; 2) the object is so large that it is not enough to equip it with equipment serviced by one control panel and it is required to combine several local systems. The use of software, as a rule, involves the use of the local network of the object, which significantly expands the territorial topology of the security system. The local network allows you to organize many jobs with different functionality throughout the facility.

The upper level of building ISO "Orion" is characterized by the following features:

ISO "ORION" functionally combines 116 devices and instruments and 33 software products, but for any option, the universal principle of system construction is used:

Central system controllers

Central controllers, they are also control panels, are used in the ISO "Orion" system to combine all devices via the RS-485 interface into a single network, as well as for centralized control of the system. One remote control can control up to 127 devices, all the logic of work is programmed into it using the free Pprog program. There are the following types of controllers:

Information exchange interface

The RS-485 interface is used to exchange information between Bolid's security devices; it is standard, which is used in many systems from other manufacturers. At the same time, the “communication” protocol itself is closed; this is done for security purposes, i.e. devices with an RS-485 interface from other manufacturers will not be compatible with ISO Orion-based signaling.

The RS-485 interface consists of three wires, A and B, and the third unites the zeros of the panels. The interface is half duplex, i.e. The A-B line is receiving and transmitting. Its maximum length is 3 km, if you need more, you can use repeaters. If the length of the RS-485 line is more than 100 meters, it is necessary to lay it with a twisted pair.

For stable operation on the first and last device, terminating resistors of 620 Ohm must be installed inside the rs-485 interface. On most instruments, this resistor is activated by a jumper near the A-B terminal block.

Address signaling

In addition to devices with radial loops, the Bolid company produces a two-wire line controller S2000-KDL, which allows you to connect addressable sensors to yourself. In address signaling, the location of the violation is determined by the location of the detector and its sensitivity zone, which significantly improves accuracy.

127 addressable security, fire and process detectors can be connected to one S2000-KDL. The advantage is that we can run only two wires, which provide power and data transmission, through all the premises and at the same time we will know the exact location of each sensor.

The following addressable detectors are currently being produced:

  • S2000-IK. Infrared optical-electronic address detector, volumetric type. There are several versions, with protection from animals and an additional lens of the "corridor" type;
  • S2000-SHIK. Infrared spacer of narrow action, such as "curtains" for protecting doors and window openings;
  • S2000-PIK. Infrared volume, ceiling-mounted;
  • S2000-ST. Glass break sensor;
  • S2000-PIK-ST. Two types of detectors are combined in one housing, it reacts to glass penetration and breaking, ceiling version;
  • S2000-B. Vibration sensor, designed to protect walls, ceilings, floors, all kinds of storages, safes and other things;
  • S2000-STIC. Combined wall-mounted detector. It combines the acoustic and optoelectronic principle of detection. Occupies two addresses;
  • S2000-SMK. Magnetic contact, used to protect window and door openings;
  • S2000-CT. An alarm detector for an alarm signal, otherwise it’s just a panic button;
  • S2000-SP2. Signal-start relay block;
  • S2000-AR1,2,8. Address type expanders for one, two or eight zones. It must be remembered that the expander does not provide power for the conventional sensor;
  • Isolator Breeze. Allows you to isolate closed sections, after the closure is removed, the lines are automatically restored.

Dialers and transmitters

Dialers and notification transmission devices are used to notify the owner of the system about any events - arming / disarming, alarms, service messages. In addition, they can transmit signals to the control panel of the security company.

Power supply

All main panels of the Bolide are universal, they can be powered by voltage from 10.2 to 28.4 V. Each board has two inputs for power supplies of 12 and 24 volts.
