Herbicides against weeds of continuous action: the best means for giving. Weed killers - making the right choice Weed killer how to use

Beginning gardeners often do not know what herbicides are, but over time, the need to learn more about them will definitely arise. Weeds appear instantly, after the snow melts and the first warming of the earth by the sun's rays, they stick out the tops of the soil, while taking away the nutritional properties of cultivated plants.

After a while, weeds obscure them with their shadow, preventing the planted crops from developing. To avoid this, frequent and systematic herbicide treatment of weeds is carried out, which gives a reliable result for the whole season.

Herbicides are chemicals that have a detrimental effect on the life processes of plants. They are used exclusively for weeds. These funds differ in the specifics of the application, so you need to know which drug is best to use. This article discusses the most common types of herbicides.

"Agrokiller" is a herbicide of continuous action, designed to combat malicious weeds. The drug easily destroys plants that are difficult to exterminate, such as cow parsnip, thistle, wheatgrass, as well as unnecessary growth of trees and shrubs, due to the high concentration of active ingredients. With the help of "Agrokiller" weed control is fast.

Did you know? You can even clean areas that have not been touched for a long time.

It is best to use the drug with the arrival of a warm spring or early summer. At this time, the plants have active sap flow, which contributes to the accelerated spread of the herbicide through their tissues.

Before sowing lawn grass, Agrokiller is ideal, since it does not have soil activity.

Important! After 6 hours from the moment of applying the drug to the shoots or leaves, the plant completely absorbs it.

On the 6-7th day, "Agrokiller" penetrates into other parts of the plant, including the root system. The process of amino acid synthesis is destroyed, and the plant dies. Herbicide treatment works at any temperature.

"Antiburyan"

Herbicide "Antiburyan"- This is a systemic drug of continuous action, which is used to exterminate perennial and annual weeds. It is better to apply it on soils before planting crops or after harvesting. Also, the drug is perfect for non-agricultural land. "Antiburyan" destroys more than 300 varieties of weeds and has a high efficiency.

Did you know? The advantage of the drug is that it does not accumulate in the soil.

The herbicide "Antiburian" is one of the most popular herbicides, and the instructions for use are simple: weeds should be treated during the period of active growth, when the plant reaches a height of up to 15 cm. Temperature conditions should be favorable, the allowable range is from +12 ° C to +25 ° C. It is also very important that there is no rain for 5 hours after spraying with the drug.

"Antipyrey"

Herbicide "Antipyrey"- This is a post-emergence systemic preparation that is used to eliminate perennial and annual weeds. Shows especially good results on plantings of vegetable crops. The leaf surface of the grassy weed species absorbs the agent, which soon spreads to all parts, including the roots.

The active substance of the herbicide is concentrated at the points of growth, as a result, lipid biosynthesis is blocked, and the plant dies - both its aerial part and the root system, and the re-growth of weeds is no longer possible.

Important! The chemical weed killer "Antipyrey" will not be washed off by rain within 30 minutes after spraying.

is a herbicide of continuous action, effective against the destruction of annual and perennial cereal plants, trees and shrubs in non-agricultural areas.

Weather conditions do not affect the effectiveness of the drug. After spraying, the leaves and roots absorb the herbicide within one hour.

This poison from weeds of continuous action can be absorbed not only through the roots and leaves, but also through the soil. As a result, the processing period increases from early spring to late autumn. Arsenal is used once every 2-3 years, since high results are not saved for one year.

Important! A distinctive feature of this herbicide is that it can destroy plants, even if they are covered with oily substances or a layer of dust.

The herbicide "Arsenal" has the following instructions for use: the spray tank must be filled with water by ⅓ and slowly, stirring, add the drug until the container is full. The prepared solution is used immediately after its preparation. The treatment of the area should be carried out with the agitator turned on inside the tank; after finishing work, it must be thoroughly rinsed with water.

"Deimos"

The drug "Deimos" is a systemic herbicide that destroys annual and almost all perennial dicotyledonous weeds in areas with grain crops. Penetrating into the leaves and root system, the herbicide leads to the death of the plant. Deimos has good compatibility with other herbicides in tank mixes. The advantage of this type of herbicide is its high efficiency against weeds that are resistant to drugs from other chemical classes.

Weed killer "Zenkor" is a systemic herbicide that effectively fights broadleaf and grass weeds. in areas where tomatoes, potatoes, soybeans and alfalfa are grown. The drug penetrates through the leaves and soil, can destroy weeds that are just germinating, as well as those that have already sprouted. Early treatment of the site contributes to the fact that only cultivated plants receive nutrients, sunlight, and water.

Important! The amount of the drug that is needed to kill weeds depends on the type of soil. For example, for a light one, only 5.0 g per one hundred square meters is enough, for a medium one - up to 10 g, and for a heavy one - up to 15 g.

For potatoes, processing is best done when it has just risen, and weeds are already on the surface of the soil.

"Lapis lazuli"

Selective herbicides are also used quite often to get rid of weeds. "Lapis lazuli"- This is a drug designed to control weeds. in areas where potatoes are planted. A distinctive feature of "Lazurit" is that it destroys weeds selectively, without adversely affecting potatoes.

You can process the site immediately after planting potato tubers, 10 g of solution per 3 liters of water is enough for 1 weave. This herbicide is absorbed mainly by the root system, which allows you to destroy both vegetative weeds and seedlings in the soil, as well as prevent the emergence of new ones.

Did you know? If the tops of potatoes have grown to 5 cm, and weeds have flooded the entire area, it is possible to carry out herbicide treatment.

The weed killer protects the crop for 1-2 months.

"Lontrel"

Herbicide "Lontrel" is a systemic drug of selective action, designed to combat annual and perennial weeds in areas of strawberries and strawberries. The remedy is effective against weeds, which are very difficult to eradicate, for example: plantain, dandelion, sorrel, chamomile, cornflowers and others. After spraying, penetrating the leaves, the herbicide quickly spreads to the place of growth and destroys both the aerial parts and the root system, and after a few hours their growth stops.

Within 2.5-4 weeks after treatment, the weeds die completely. Of the features of the herbicide "Lontrel" it can be noted that the tool has a high efficiency and does not have a negative impact on the planted strawberries and strawberries, and also does not accumulate in the ground.

is a selective herbicide for the control of annual and perennial cereal post-emergence weeds.

Important! This drug does not work on dicotyledonous weeds.

After treatment, the herbicide quickly begins to be absorbed by the leaves. After that, the agent spreads to the stem, roots, and subsequently the plant dies. The first results of spraying can be seen after 7 days, and complete death occurs within 2-3 weeks.

Such weed preparations are not absorbed into the soil, which means that they will only act on those weeds that were at the time of treatment. If you need to kill dicotyledonous weeds on the site, then Miura can be mixed with a herbicide against dicotyledonous weeds. The tool is effective both in the early stages of plant development and in the later ones, but during the period of active growth, the best results can be achieved.

Herbicide "Roundup"- is a universal drug of continuous action, designed to combat perennial, annual, cereal and dicotyledonous weeds. This is a very effective tool, widely used in agriculture.

After applying the herbicide to the plant, after 6 hours, the leaves and shoots completely absorb the drug, and after 6-7 days it penetrates the root system and other parts of the weeds. As a result, the synthesis of amino acids of the weed is disturbed, and it dies. "Roundup", like "Tornado", does not affect the soil, when it hits, it loses all its activity, so the drug does not affect the germination of seeds of planted crops.

"Tornado"

"Tornado" is a systemic herbicide of continuous action for the removal of annual and perennial weeds. This drug is one of the most common herbicides and is used on agricultural plots, as well as in vineyards. When processed, it first penetrates the stems and leaves, then spreads to the root system, stops the synthesis of amino acids and completely destroys the plant.

Effective against such weeds as cattail, creeping wheatgrass, bindweed, thistle, pig and reed. Of the advantages, it can be noted that there is no soil activity, and immediately after processing, any crop can be sown. The spraying procedure can be carried out at any temperature, the main thing is that the plant retains its viability.

"Tornado BAU"

Herbicide "Tornado BAU" is a drug of continuous action that fights all types of weeds: annuals, perennials, cereal dicotyledonous and monocotyledonous. Herbicides for the treatment of the site require the correct dosage, which depends on the type of weeds and their development.
After spraying, the shoots and leaves absorb the drug in 6 hours, then it spreads to the root system and other parts of the weed in 6-7 days, and as a result of a violation of the synthesis of amino acids, the plant dies. Works exclusively on green leaves, is inactive on the soil, decomposes into natural substances.

"Hurricane"

Herbicide "Hurricane"- This is a non-selective systemic preparation that destroys perennial and annual weeds. Used in agricultural areas intended for planting potatoes, vegetables, vineyards. When hit on weeds, "Hurricane" is quickly absorbed through the leaves, spreads to the roots, and after 9-14 days the weeds completely die. Efficiency increases in dry and cold weather conditions. Weeds treated with this herbicide do not grow back.

is a systemic post-emergence herbicide of selective action, used to destroy certain types of annual and perennial dicotyledonous weeds in areas where beets, cabbage, flax and rapeseed are sown.

The agent is absorbed by the leaves, spreading to the root system. All this happens within 2-3 hours after treatment. After 13-18 hours, you can notice the first signs of the drug's action: deformation and twisting of leaves and stems.

The period of protective action lasts until the end of the growing season. Processing is best carried out at a temperature of +10 °C to +25 °C. If, according to forecasts, there should be frosts, then it is not worth carrying out the procedure.

"Chistopol"

Universal herbicide "Chistopol" is a continuous action preparation used to control annual and perennial weeds in areas where cultivated plants will be sown. It is best to process during the growing season of weeds at temperatures from +12 ° C to +30 ° C. Since the root system dies later after spraying, it is necessary to work on the soil no earlier than after 14 days. Herbicide "Chistopol" is effective in the treatment of shrubs and woody vegetation.

Now when you encounter weeds, you will be ready to fight back. The use of herbicides in the country will allow you to grow on the site only those plants that you want.

There is absolutely no doubt that wild weeds are much more hardy than cultivated ones. Therefore, all gardeners and gardeners are well aware that if weeds are not destroyed in a timely manner, they will gradually begin to take away areas from cultivated plantations and your garden will be completely covered (overgrown) with them. That's why, like it or not, you don't have to save energy in the fight against this evil, and only targeted and regular work on the extermination of weeds can give a positive result. You will read below about what means help stop the invasion of weeds.

Weeds (or weeds) usually mean plants that have grown where other crops were originally planned to be grown. As a rule, the appearance of such weeds reduces the yield, or, if it is a flower garden, worsens its decorative properties.

Weeds can be divided into annuals and perennials:

Weeds, many of which are by no means so bad, and even medicinal, enough.

But the most "reachable" weeds in our gardens are couch grass, which is also called "dog grass", (although the roots of this plant are very useful and have an enveloping, diuretic, hemostatic, expectorant and diaphoretic effect), as well as hogweed Sosnowski, which can grow simply to unimaginable sizes and, in contact with which, you can get a pretty severe burn, even through clothes.

Folk remedies and methods of weed control in the garden

There are a fairly large number of ways to fight and means for the destruction of weeds in their summer cottage. Many of them have long proven themselves from the best side and they can rightly be called popular.

Timely weeding

The most ancient, popular and time-consuming way to deal with weeds is weeding the beds.

Weeds must be destroyed in a timely manner, preventing them from blooming and seeds from ripening. The bottom line is that fewer seeds equals fewer weeds.

Digging the area with a pitchfork

The best garden tool for weed control is a pitchfork. You need to dig up the site with a pitchfork, not a shovel, because when you use a shovel, you simply cut the roots of weeds, and then they sprout again and multiply even more. You just need to dig up the ground with a pitchfork (so it will be looser), pull out all the weeds along with the roots, and then destroy.

Comment! The method is quite laborious, but effective.

Section of the ground part of weeds

Just take your scissors and cut the weed at ground level, as no plant can survive long without the ground part. If you use a chopper or hoe, then during weeding you will simply chop the roots, and the roots remaining in the ground will again sprout in even greater numbers.

Comment! This method is hardly suitable for weed control in large gardens, but for small gardens, as well as in caring for rockeries, that's it!

compost heap

A huge number of weed seeds are brought into the soil along with compost, humus and manure. To avoid this, it is imperative to make compost heaps in your summer cottage. They need to withstand all these fertilizers for 2-3 years, so that everything is overripe and the seeds lose their germination.

white mustard

One of the most effective ways to control weeds, or rather to force them out, is to sow a garden in early spring with white mustard, you can also use rye and others. Next year there will be much less weeds in this area. Moreover, white mustard is an excellent nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer for the garden.

Vinegar

Another folk, and most importantly, non-toxic weed killer, can be a solution of vinegar, salt and detergent. You should take 100 grams of 9% vinegar, 1 tbsp. a spoonful of salt and mix well, and then add literally 1-2 drops of dishwashing detergent. Then pour the resulting solution into a sprayer or sprayer and spray weeds in hot weather.

Video: how to prepare a solution with vinegar to control weeds

Important! According to numerous reviews of gardeners, this method is rather ineffective, but it's still worth a try.

Mulching

As a mulch against weeds, you can use expanded clay, bark, wood chips. In order for mulching to effectively rid your plants of weeds, the thickness of the mulch layer should be at least 5 centimeters, and even better if you lay a 10 centimeter layer. In addition, it will look very aesthetically pleasing, the mulch will only emphasize the beauty of the plants.

Comment! The method is ideal for controlling weeds in flower beds and flower beds, as well as in tree and shrub circles (for example, in addition, with this tool you can also rid garden beds of weeds (for example).

Video: mulching against weeds

Covering material and black film

Again, if you are not in a hurry, then 1-2 years before sowing cultivated plants, cover the required area with a dark, dense and light-proof material, for example, it can be burlap, plywood sheets, old linoleum, hardboard, geotextiles. You can also use special black agrofibre or film. Covering material is perhaps one of the most effective ways to control weeds in large summer cottages, they definitely won’t say thank you for it.

Video: how to fight weeds in the garden with geotextiles, black spunbond and decorative mulch

Important! Keep in mind that the use of geotextiles and decorative mulch is expensive and the effect is not permanent. So, for example, geotextiles, as a rule, last for 3-4 years. The problem with decorative mulch (from bark and stone) is that after a couple of years during windy and rainy weather, it will simply be covered with earth, leaves and other organic matter from above, and weeds will begin to grow right on it.

Kerosene

Kerosene treatment (clean, undiluted) is great for weed control in carrot beds.

Important! Carrots do not smell of kerosene, they grow clean. But the method is only suitable for carrots, because if it gets on another crop, for example, onions, then it will die. Also mandatory condition- No rain or wind!

Exotic weed control methods

Some of the rather controversial and strange means of weed control include:

  • site burning blowtorch;
  • garden bed processing vodka before sowing (150 grams per bucket of water);

Weed control with herbicides

Herbicides are special chemicals that will help protect the garden and suburban area from weeds.

If you do not want to bother much and use folk remedies against weeds, then herbicides are your choice.

Note! We repeat, herbicides are chemicals, which means that weed control must be carried out in full chemical protection, that is, wear a special mask or gas mask, rubber gloves. Also, you can not stay on the treated area for at least a week after spraying.

It is very important when buying herbicides to understand what kind of crop we will be treating, what is the purpose of spraying, since there are very different preparations against weeds.

For example, there is such a drug Lapis lazuli", which destroys everything except nightshade, that is, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes will remain. As a rule, it is used to control annual dicotyledonous and grassy weeds.

Also, the drug "Lintur" does not help from weeds.

If you need to remove all the weeds near the curb or fence, then you can use the most classic herbicides that are sold in any garden store.

Some of the most popular herbicides against weeds include:

Video: weed control with herbicides - types of drugs

As a rule, all these drugs have the same main active chemical - acid glyphosate, but in different quantities: some drugs are more concentrated and stronger, while others are a little weaker. So, for example, if you have a lot of couch grass or cow parsnip (the most persistent weeds) in your summer cottage, then it is better to take the stronger Agrokiller or Hurricane. Moreover, for example, if you take 100 grams of "Hurricane" for 1 bucket of water, then it is advisable to add another 100-150 grams of ammonium nitrate to the solution. The addition of saltpeter is explained by the fact that ammonia nitrogen accelerates the passage of the drug into the root system of plants.

Remember! No less dangerous when using herbicides is the fact that your cultivated plants may also suffer, therefore, such weed preparations should be used carefully and only in those parts of the garden where cultivated plants do not grow, or use specialized preparations, such as Lazurit, Gazontrel , Bis-300, Lintur.

Video: how to apply herbicides against weeds

Unfortunately, gardeners and gardeners have to deal with weeds every year and more than once. Therefore, in order to facilitate their work and prevent weeds from flourishing on the site, it is very important to “fixate” on the regular destruction of weeds, because, as you know, the sources of weeds are abandoned areas.

In contact with

Chemical plant protection products are quite diverse, and the advantage of all modern pesticide preparations is that they greatly facilitate horticultural work. At the same time, such chemicals do not accumulate in the soil and do not affect the crop, therefore they are safe for human health.

Herbicides of continuous action are very popular - preparations aimed at the complete destruction of weeds in the beds. All such products are divided into several groups, and in this article we will try to understand the features of these drugs and give examples of the best herbicides that have been tested in practice.

The main types of continuous herbicides

A group of continuous herbicides are chemicals that destroy absolutely all vegetation. That is, when treated with such means, not only weeds, but also cultivated plants die (Figure 1).

Most of these drugs have a contact effect. First, they settle on the aerial parts of plants, then penetrate into the tissues, destroy the membrane and cause the weeds to dry out.

Note: Despite the relative safety for health and the inability to accumulate in the soil and reduce its fertility, some chemical compounds that are part of continuous action products are considered dangerous. According to recent studies, they can cause cancer. However, other substances are considered relatively harmless and are widely used in agriculture.

Continuous herbicides have been used less and less recently, although large farms prefer to use them for weed control. In suburban areas, preference is given to post-emergence selective chemicals, but since their effect is not so pronounced, some types of weeds still have to be eliminated with stronger chemicals.

Figure 1. Mechanism of action of herbicides

All herbicides of continuous action are usually divided into types according to several indicators:

  1. Chemical composition: preparations can be organic and inorganic, although most manufacturers claim that even inorganic preparations break down in the soil into chemically neutral components.
  2. Period of use: according to this indicator, funds can be pre-emergence, post-emergence and universal. The drugs of the last group are considered more popular, since they can be used at any period of development of weeds.
  3. Method of influence: according to this classification, preparations are divided into leaf and soil. The first group of substances acts directly on the aerial parts of the weeds, and the second - on the roots, seeds and young shoots.

Forms of release of chemicals are also quite diverse. They may be available as granules or powders to be dissolved in water, but aqueous solutions or suspensions are more convenient because they are much easier to mix with water.

But the most popular classification is the division of herbicides according to the method of exposure and application. According to this indicator, all chemicals against weeds are divided into contact and systemic.

Contact

The drugs of this group got their name due to the fact that they act directly on the leaves and stems of plants in contact with them. In other words, after spraying, the active ingredients of such agents disrupt the basic vital processes in weed tissues and lead to the death of weeds.

Contact agents are resistant to moisture and are used primarily for the rapid destruction of weeds. At the same time, they are considered extremely toxic, therefore, it is strictly forbidden to use them in household plots. Another disadvantage is the fact that the components of such preparations do not affect the root system of plants, so over time, weeds can grow back.

Systemic

Systemic preparations according to the method of exposure differ significantly from contact ones. They penetrate into the tissues of plants and, together with the juice, spread to all parts, causing the death of not only the aerial parts, but also the roots (Figure 2).

As a rule, systemic herbicides of continuous action are used to control vegetation in large areas, as well as along roads and railroad tracks. In summer cottages, they are used to eliminate perennial weeds with a powerful root system (for example, wheatgrass).

Application of continuous herbicides

Since there are a lot of herbicides of continuous action, it is necessary to clearly determine which of the drugs is suitable in a particular case. The choice is influenced not only by the types of weeds, but also by the general contamination of the site.

This group of drugs is most often used in such cases:

  1. For processing agricultural areas: fields intended for sowing grain, post-harvest processing, as well as weed control in summer cottages.
  2. In horticulture: to clear weeds between rows of fruit trees and shrubs, as well as to eliminate weeds in vineyards.
  3. For cleaning non-agricultural land: city parks and squares, areas along major highways, railways and runways, as well as under power lines.
  4. In shipping: to eliminate algae that interfere with the passage of ships.

The use of such chemicals also depends on the type of weeds that they affect. For example, to get rid of annual weeds, pre-sowing spraying is carried out, although in some cases processing is also allowed after harvesting. Perennial weeds are sprayed after harvesting, but with their strong spread, careful processing of row spacing of cultivated plants is allowed.

Using any herbicide, you must strictly adhere to the dosage and consumption rate indicated by the manufacturer. Only in this case, the effect of the use of the chemical will be positive.

Note: We must not forget about the toxicity of such drugs. Processing should be carried out in dry calm weather, and the air temperature should be within + 16 + 25 degrees. In addition, it is imperative to wear a protective suit, goggles and a mask so that chemical particles do not accidentally get on the skin, eyes or respiratory tract.

If it becomes necessary to apply continuous herbicides on already grown beds, it is better to use a sprayer with a small spray radius (jet). In this case, you will be sure that the chemical only got on the weeds, and did not affect the cultivated plants.

Figure 2. The effect of the use of drugs

After treatment, you need to thoroughly wash your hands and face with soap, rinse your mouth and nose with clean water, or take a shower.

It should also be remembered that for the appearance of the first signs of wilting weeds, some time must pass. On average, this figure is 5-7 days. During this period, it is impossible to till the soil (loosening, cultivating), and if you have such an opportunity, then completely refrain from any work on the cultivated beds. Only when the symptoms of wilting are noticeable, you can start other work in the garden.

Various herbicides of continuous action for giving

A wide range of continuous herbicides significantly complicates the selection of a suitable preparation. We have collected for the 10 best drugs that can be successfully used in a summer cottage.

rap

The drug belongs to systemic agents, and its active ingredient is glyphosate (Figure 3). It is considered effective in the fight not only with annuals, but also with perennial cereal weeds, which are difficult to eliminate in another way (creeping wheatgrass, field bindweed, etc.).

Figure 3. Rap preparation

A distinctive feature of the product is that it does not accumulate in the soil, and after processing the site, absolutely any cultivated plants can be sown on it. It has a pronounced effect, since it destroys not only the above-ground parts, but also the root system, which lies deep in the ground. It has moderate toxicity, so it can be used in personal households, as well as for aerial spraying.

Hurricane Forte

It belongs to the new herbicides of systemic action, but has already proven itself on the positive side. Designed for both industrial and home use (Figure 4).

Figure 4. Hurricane Forte

The active ingredients of Hurricane Forte effectively fight both annual and perennial weeds. You can use the drug on the beds, as well as in gardens and vineyards.

Tornado

It stands out among other herbicides of continuous action in that it contains chemicals in high concentration. Due to this, even for a thorough continuous treatment of a large area, a small amount of product will be needed (Figure 5).

Figure 5. Tornado Chemical

Herbicide Tornado is also considered universal, since it equally effectively destroys both annual weeds and tenacious perennial weeds that are difficult to eliminate in any other way. The drug can be used over a wide temperature range, and its low toxicity allows the use of the product not only in industrial conditions, but also in summer cottages.

Total

The drug is available in the form of an aqueous solution that contains a high concentration of glyphosate. Due to this, the tool has a pronounced effect. The first symptoms of weed wilting are observed already 2-3 days after spraying, and the complete death of weeds occurs after a maximum of 2 weeks (Figure 6).

Figure 6. Drug Total

At the same time, the herbicide does not have soil activity, that is, after its application, cultivated plants can be grown on the treated areas. A wide spectrum of action allows the use of the chemical to control various types of weeds, and the effectiveness of the drug does not decrease with temperature fluctuations.

Torch

It belongs to inexpensive chemicals against weeds, but at the same time it has a pronounced effect and high efficiency. After spraying, the active substance of the chemical immediately penetrates into the vascular system of plants and quickly spreads through tissues and cells. Due to this, one treatment per season is enough to completely destroy the aerial parts and the root system of weeds (Figure 7).

Figure 7. Weed Torch

The toxicity of the drug is weak, and the planting of cultivated plants can be carried out as early as a week after treatment. In addition, the product does not affect crop rotation and does not reduce soil moisture and fertility.

Grader

This drug belongs to the potent herbicides of continuous action. The main component of the product is the substance imazapyr, which affects almost all known weeds, including tenacious perennials (Figure 8).

Figure 8. Preparation Grader

The complete death of weeds occurs within a week after processing. At the same time, the drug breaks down in the soil into neutral components and does not reduce the fertility of the soil.

Roundup

It is considered one of the most popular and effective herbicides. It belongs to organic means, therefore, despite the destructive effect on weeds, it is considered safe for people, poultry and animals (Figure 9).

Figure 9. Weed roundup

The principle of operation of Roundup is quite simple: the chemical first enters the leaves of plants, and then penetrates deep into the tissues and begins to descend to the roots. As a result, not only the aerial part dries out, but also the rhizomes located deep in the ground. The herbicide can be used in any soil and climatic conditions, and is suitable for use in suburban areas.

Glyphosate Wolnik

The drug has a wide spectrum of action, as it is able to destroy most known types of weeds. The active substance, which is part of the product, quickly penetrates into plant tissues and spreads to the roots. Due to this, the complete drying of the weeds occurs in about 7-14 days.

The tool is considered toxic, so it is not recommended to use it in suburban areas. At the same time, the herbicide is widely used for processing agricultural fields for growing cereals on an industrial scale, as well as for cleaning water bodies from algae, and controlling weeds in the aisles of orchards and vineyards.

Arsenal

Refers to potent drugs of continuous action. However, this tool is mainly used for industrial processing of fields. The drug showed especially high efficiency in the pre-sowing treatment of virgin land (Figure 10).

Figure 10. Arsenal tool

The tool is able to destroy a wide range of weeds, but it is not recommended to use it at home. This is due to the fact that the active substance has a pronounced effect and can maintain its effectiveness for several years, which is undesirable when growing certain vegetable and berry crops.

Octopus

The composition of the herbicide includes glyphosate (potassium salt) in high concentration. This allows you to use a small amount of the drug for spraying (Figure 11).

Figure 11. Preparation Octopus

The herbicide has a pronounced effect and is able to destroy a variety of types of weeds, including cereal perennials with a branched root system. Penetrating into the tissues of plants, the substance spreads through the cells and destroys the aerial part and the root system. With such a pronounced effect, the agent does not affect crop rotation and does not reduce soil fertility.

Continuous herbicides: video

It is quite difficult to choose a universal herbicide for summer cottages, since each type of soil and subspecies of weeds has its own preparation. In order to objectively assess the advantages and disadvantages of a particular drug, you need not only to carefully read the instructions, but also to study the reviews of summer residents who have already used such a tool in practice.
