Materials and tools

To make crafts, you will need a small piece of three-layer plywood. The master, as always, facilitates your work and offers to download a gift template for cutting. Tool for work:

  1. Manual jigsaw for figured cutting
  2. Scissors and glue for cutting out the Christmas tree template and gluing it to the workpiece
  3. Sandpaper. You can grind by hand with your own hands or using .

Step by step instructions for making a gift

  1. Download for sawing with a jigsaw. The template is prepared for printing on an A4 sheet of two types of Christmas trees. You can change the scale and print content in other sizes.
  2. We cut out the template with scissors and glue it onto the plywood blank with glue. It is important to maintain the appearance and strength of the tree and the crossbar along the fibers of the plywood. The author used a piece of OSB sheet as a base, the result is also excellent. See photos and videos.
  3. We cut out two details of the gift along the contour of the template. Pay attention to the width of the assembly groove on the tree and the crossbar.
  4. Remove the template paper and sand the details with sandpaper.
  5. At this stage, work can be stopped, but still, it is better to protect the Christmas tree gift from the influence of the external environment with varnish, wax or oil. The author covered the details with 2 layers of varnish. In principle, you can paint the Christmas tree with paints, cover it with sparkles and even place Christmas decorations on it. Everything is at your discretion or desire.

Christmas crafts are always fun. Let's start decorating a Christmas tree toy from plywood. The main materials for work are a decoupage napkin with the image of gnomes and New Year's gifts, a plywood blank in the form of a ball, and an openwork kitchen napkin. All this can be purchased in special stores for needlework.

What options for creating Christmas tree decorations with your own hands on the eve of the holidays cannot be found on the Internet. These are products made of paper, thread and glue, felt, corrugated paper and old newspapers. In general, there are a lot of materials for making such crafts, and if you have a specific scheme at hand, then in the end everything can be done quickly and easily. In this material, we will give options on how to make New Year's toys from plywood, templates will help you make beautiful New Year's decor elements with your own hands.

If you want to make stylish and beautiful New Year's toys from plywood, you should find high-quality templates and download them in advance. A large number of various templates that are suitable for these purposes can be found directly in this material and immediately downloaded from here to your computer, so that later you can print it on a printer for work or transfer it directly from the screen to a piece of paper. Such a wooden decor looks original, and the design turns out to be interesting and unusual.

Today, wooden toys for decorating the Christmas tree are rather a rarity. But once such decorations were most often used for Christmas decorations. Unfortunately, the tree was replaced by plastics, but even now, despite all the variety of possible options for New Year's crafts, plywood toys still occupy their own special niche.

Advantages of plywood for making toys

Ready-made drawings of plywood toys can be downloaded from this material, but if you are still wondering why you should choose this particular material, then it's time to bring important advantages. First of all, plywood Christmas decorations are extremely rare today, which means it is stylish and incredibly original. Such a Christmas tree decoration will definitely not be found anywhere else and will be one of a kind.

I would also like to note that Christmas tree toys made of wood allow you to decorate the Christmas tree to your liking. Even a child can engage in such skill, and the process itself, not to mention the result, brings a huge amount of positive emotions and vivid impressions. This decor will be relevant then for many years in a row. It is suitable not only for decorating the New Year's beauty, but also for doors and windows, as an independent exclusive gift to relatives and friends.

Another plus of this decor, which cannot be ignored, is durability. Do-it-yourself plywood toys do not break when hit, dropped. They retain their shape even in the most difficult stressful situations, where plastic or glass would have failed long ago.

What is required for needlework

This is not the most common type of manual creativity, as already noted, so you need to carefully prepare for work in advance. In particular, you need a sheet of plywood (you can buy it, you can take scraps of cut sheets that were used in construction).

Also, for work, a jigsaw, manual or electric, must be at hand. You will also need a drill with a set of drills and sandpaper. Plus, in order to bring the toy to mind, you need to buy acrylic paints and acrylic varnish in advance. As an additional decor, you can safely use paper, tinsel trimmings, satin ribbons, and even ready-made New Year and Christmas images.

Master class on creating toys

First, we prepare the blank for decoration. We take white acrylic paint POLYCOLOR and a large foam rubber sponge. We dip the sponge into the paint and with smooth movements we tampon the workpiece. The paint should be applied evenly on both sides of the plywood. If necessary, apply two or three coats of paint.

When the surface is dry, sand the plywood with a piece of fine-grained sandpaper. The workpiece must become absolutely even - this is the main condition for decorating a Christmas tree toy.

Remove the top layer from the napkin and tear out the fragments with gnomes. A white paper field should remain around each figure.

Now you can do decoupage on the prepared plywood surface. Attach a piece of napkin with a dwarf to one side of the balloon. With a small, soft-bristled brush, dip into acrylic lacquer (using HOBBY LINE) and then brush gently over the top of the paper towel. The varnish will quickly saturate the paper and it will stick to the workpiece. So, the varnish will perform two functions: both decoupage glue and protective varnish. After the varnish has dried, glue the fragment on the other side of the workpiece in the same way.

Next, we create lace details on the plywood Christmas tree toy. We put a kitchen lace napkin on top of the decoupage in such a way as to visually imagine where to make the drawing (you can move the napkin until you like the location). With acrylic contours of various colors, put dots in the holes of the napkin.

Choose the color of the contours to your taste, taking into account compatibility with the overall composition (used HOBBY LINE, MARABU, and DECOLA). You can place such a dotted ornament over the entire surface of the Christmas tree toy, or only along some edge.

When the spot painting is dry on both sides, open the decoupage with glossy acrylic varnish. Apply several coats of varnish and dry each one thoroughly.

Hook a ribbon or thick thread into the hole in the blank and hang the plywood toy on the Christmas tree. Gnomes with gifts rush to the New Year together with

At the Fair of Masters, I am relatively new, not to say that I am already a great master, but I really fell in love with my work - artistic sawing. I have been doing sawing for 2 years, since childhood I dreamed of learning :) I decided to do a master class, especially since the New Year's competition of master classes happened. This is my first master class, so please do not throw slippers.

So! A master class on making a beautiful and simple Christmas tree from plywood! I made 3 different Christmas trees: the first one for me, the second one was asked by my husband to be painted using the dot painting technique (we often complement each other in our work), and my daughter asked for one Christmas tree for painting.

Well, let's get started! What will we need?

Materials and tools:

1. Product drawing - a drawing of this Christmas tree is freely available on the Internet. With the help of simple manipulations, I slightly edited the drawing to my taste - I added the inscription 2017, asterisks and a slot to one Christmas tree. By the way, by downloading and printing this drawing, you can make the same Christmas tree! Only the size of the slot will need to be measured and fit the Christmas tree into the stand. In my case, the slot is 6 mm.

2. Plywood 6 mm, it is desirable to use plywood grade 2/4 or 2/2.

3. Glue stick.

4. Manual jigsaw or jigsaw - in my case, this is a jigsaw, but who does not have one, you can use a regular manual jigsaw.

6. Thin nail files.

5. Screwdriver or drill with a thin drill.

6. Sandpaper and files for grinding.

7. Acrylic paints and contours, acrylic varnish, brush.

Stages of work:

1. Print out the drawing of the Christmas tree. We cut and glue on 6 mm plywood with ordinary glue with a pencil.

2. We drill holes.

3. We cut out the outer and inner contours of the Christmas tree and the Christmas tree stand.

4. Now that all the inner and outer contours are cut out, you can remove the remaining paper from the plywood and carefully sand the product. We grind with needle files and sandpaper.

5. As a result, we got such cute Christmas trees!

6. Coloring!

To create a New Year's mood, it was decided to apply a rather simple drawing to the Christmas tree, but at the same time capable of inspiring nostalgia for childhood. It can be drawn even by a beginner who first picked up a brush.

So that the paint lies well, we prime the Christmas tree with acrylic primer. And proceed to the choice of color for the future decoration.

A deep and rich indigo color and a silver outline will look great.

Snowflake is ready! The number and size of snowflakes is not limited!

It's the turn of the back side of the Christmas tree. Here we will again remember what beautiful drawings the frost painted on the windows! As there were no similar drawings on the window, improvisation and rich imagination will become our assistant when drawing :)

7. We cover the final result with acrylic varnish.

You can decorate them however you like! We made three Christmas trees for gifts - I painted one Christmas tree red, the second was decorated by my daughter :) Well, my wife painted the third using the dot painting technique - Alfiya, by the way, is an excellent artist and master in her field! It turned out very nice!

I want to remind you that you can cut this Christmas tree out of plywood with an ordinary pioneer jigsaw or cut it out

from cardboard, transferring the drawing through carbon paper! And you can color it any way you like!

We wish you pleasant creativity!

Happy New Year 2017!!!

PS: If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them! I can tell you where to get good nail files for sawing :)

In this master class, a Christmas tree of the original design is presented. Unlike most artificial symbols of the New Year holidays, this product is easy to assemble, looks interesting and requires very little storage space. At cost, it won't cost much. To make it, you will need a piece of plywood and some decoration materials.

materials

To make a Christmas tree out of plywood with your own hands, you will need:

  • plywood, 3 mm, 30 x 20 cm;
  • dye;
  • brushes;
  • varnish for wood;
  • sequins;
  • hand tools for cutting and processing wood.

The size of the tree will be small. Its base is 14 cm in diameter and 20 cm high.

Step 1. You will need to transfer the given template to a piece of plywood and cut out the constituent parts. It is most convenient and fastest to load the template into a laser cutting machine, in the absence of such, transfer the template manually and carefully cut everything. Work especially carefully with a spiral that imitates the crown of a tree.

Step 2. After cutting out the parts, process them so that there are no protrusions and roughness anywhere on the surface.

Step 3. Take a part that imitates a tree trunk and thread its top into the groove in the center of the spiral.

Step 4. Gently straighten the spiral, lowering it down to the base of the trunk. Insert the lower part of the crown into the side grooves on the trunk.

Step 5. Fasten the star to the top of the tree by inserting it into the prepared groove.

Step 6. You can start decorating the Christmas tree. There are several options here. The Christmas tree can be left in its natural form by simply varnishing it. You can paint it and the star on it in traditional colors, and if you want to give the figurine festivity and solemnity, add a little sparkle of the appropriate shade on top of the paint.

Ready! At the end of the holidays, the figurine is also easy to disassemble and fold until the next New Year.

A Christmas tree in the house during the New Year holidays is a wonderful tradition that has been followed by more than one generation for a long time. This tree, decorated with shiny toys and sparkling garlands, invariably causes awe and delight in the hearts of children and adults.

Despite the huge popularity of a live Christmas tree, many still decorate their home with its artificial counterpart in order to preserve the green spaces of coniferous trees. Therefore, alternative Christmas trees have recently come into fashion, thanks to the inexhaustible imagination of decorators, made from a wide variety of materials. Among them you can find designs made of wire, fabric, feathers, plastic, paper, glass and wood.

We devoted today's article to an unusual version of a wooden Christmas tree, because we are sure that such a tree can be a very effective solution.

Wooden Christmas trees

Maybe you recently changed the flooring from the boards, dismantled a wooden table with wobbly legs, or unnecessary drawers are stored in the back room of the house. All this can be reused to create an original New Year's decor.

It is not necessary to have any special skills to put together a cone-shaped flat structure, and you can style the Christmas tree according to your idea of \u200b\u200bwhat it should be.

For example:

  • Naive, as in drawn Soviet cartoons, covered with half-worn paint

  • From raw boards, installed directly on the floor or leaning against the wall, with a minimum of decorations
  • With a clear geometric shape and a sparkling garland, in a group of several simple Christmas trees with original homemade decorations

  • Stacked construction

The Christmas tree, made entirely of wooden elements, is able to resemble a traditional one with its silhouette, thanks to its three-dimensional design. And it’s not at all difficult to create such a thing, because all that is needed is a cruciform base with a high metal pin in the center, on which thin boards or branches of different lengths are strung in turn from bottom to top in descending order.

It is noteworthy that decorating a type-setting wooden Christmas tree is a pleasure. Glass balls and figurines are simply hung at the ends of the boards, decorative figurines can simply be glued to them with double-sided tape, and tablet candles can be placed in pre-formed recesses.

  • "Layout" of the Christmas tree

As proof of the great possibilities of wooden structures, here is another simple way to create a decorative tree. In this form, trees are most often recreated in reduced copies of parks, squares with models of residential and public buildings at the design stage.

Therefore, it seems interesting to us the idea of embodying the outlines of a New Year's tree following the example of papier-mâché and cardboard objects. It is possible to repeat each of the options below on your own at home.

The Christmas tree consists of two identical pieces of medium thickness plywood, which are connected to each other thanks to the central cuts. In one part of the tree in its center, a thin strip (equal to the thickness of a plywood sheet) is cut from the base to the middle of the height of the tree, in the other part - from the top to the middle, with the help of which the structure is securely fixed.

A more detailed master class can be found in our article "".

  • A three-dimensional model of a Christmas tree made not entirely from wood, but rather from its derivative material - cardboard. Several fragments of the same size and shape are folded in half lengthwise, and then glued together at the folds, forming a single figured model.

  • Table decorative Christmas trees

Your imagination is the most useful assistant in the task of translating ideas on the theme of miniature wooden Christmas trees. In the event that it is enough, we suggest referring to our photo selection.

The remains of plywood, fiberboard, MDF will serve as materials for table decor for the New Year holidays and Christmas, and in order to preserve the characteristic texture of wood, we recommend limiting yourself to a small amount of decorations or a thin layer of acrylic paints.

Master class: whatnot - Christmas tree

If the household has a mechanical jigsaw, it can be used to construct a completely charming Christmas tree, which, moreover, can be used as a wall shelf or table shelf.

So, before you get started, you need to prepare:

  1. Sheet of thin plywood
  2. Mechanical jigsaw (or manual, if it is not difficult for you to work with it)
  3. wood glue
  4. Roulette
  5. simple pencil
  6. Acrylic paint, brush

Step 1:

On a sheet of plywood, you should draw an isosceles triangle - the basis of the future Christmas tree. To do this, measure with a tape measure a horizontal line 40 cm long at the bottom of the sheet. Then, from its middle (20 cm), draw up a strictly vertical line 60 cm long. From the resulting vertex, draw two segments down to the ends of the horizontal line.

Step 2:

We make blanks for the sides and shelves of the Christmas tree. We measure the lengths of its base and sides, and then, visually divide the structure into three equal parts horizontally, thanks to which the Christmas tree will have two shelves in the upper and lower parts. (Do not forget to measure the trunk fragment and sides for it)

Step 3:

Depending on how deep you want to make your Christmas tree, you should draw all the necessary blanks with the indicated lengths and a total width of 5-10 cm rectangles.

Step 4:

Using a jigsaw, you need to cut a triangular blank and all the rectangles from a sheet of plywood. Using wood glue, gradually glue the rectangles to the sides of the base, applying their ends perpendicularly. After that, in the intervals between the sides we glue the shelves.

Step 5:

We glue the trunk with sides to the Christmas tree last, after the back bar is attached.

Step 6:

We let the glue dry, check the reliability of the bond and cover the structure with two layers of acrylic paint.

1

So, in a few steps you can get a decorative Christmas tree rack, and decorate it easily in a variety of ways: figurines of animals and birds, bunches of berries, beads, paper snowflakes and other crafts.

2

Take on board the ideas of creating such original Christmas trees, and no one will dare to call your interior devoid of style. Happy Holidays!
