Burgundy sofa in a beige interior. How I cooked strawberry-lingonberry compote or burgundy color in the interior

Burgundy color is considered the choice of extraordinary people who want to emphasize their individuality in the interior and at the same time create atmosphere of aristocratic luxury. At the same time, a successful combination with other colors allows you to shift the accents and give the room a wide range of emotional colors, ranging from notes of tenderness, warmth of the family hearth and unique home comfort to a certain amount of mystery and romance. Burgundy color in the living room interior is considered one of the most successful design options for this room. It's all about what it combines shades of red and brown, therefore, it has dual properties, which makes it the most advantageous in interior design. Red represents energetic life and passionate love and is considered an exciting color, and an interior decorated in this color takes on a particularly aristocratic hue. In contrast, brown color is endowed with a calming, softening property and gives the room a feeling of strict classics with a predominance of traditions.

Thanks to the combination of such contradictory tones, burgundy adds solemnity to the interior, introducing a share of extravagance into the room, but at the same time it is devoid of an exciting effect. Therefore, burgundy color in the living room interior will be most appropriate. It will give the room an aristocratic sophistication and an atmosphere of festive mood, but at the same time it will not overload with brightness, creating comfortable conditions for a relaxing holiday.

An abundance of black will create a gloomy atmosphere, while excessive use of burgundy can provoke a feeling of depression. Therefore, none of these colors should be in excess, and in this case it is especially important to maintain the perfect balance.

In other cases, such a color combination is undesirable. At the same time, sand shades in combination with burgundy will make the living room interior lighter and more comfortable.

Any contrasting colors in combination with burgundy will further emphasize the respectability of the interior. But it is undesirable to use this color in combination with an equally saturated one. If you want bold experiments, then you can use a little design trick. To create a successful effect, it is best to separate two saturated colors using stripes of white (optionally neutral) color.

Secrets of successful registration

It is important to remember that burgundy color should be used with caution in the interior of the living room, since its predominance can create a somewhat depressing atmosphere. Therefore, it is better to use splashes of burgundy, giving priority to those colors with which it is most successfully combined. Various burgundy accessories will add a festive feeling to the living room atmosphere.

Most often, the interior of a living room in burgundy color is not completely decorated, but in some basic elements of design and decor, because even so its influence is noticeable throughout the room. For example, a bright and stylish addition to this design can be burgundy pillows on a light brown sofa. Often the dominant element in such an interior is the burgundy sofa, and then it is accompanied only by small interior details in the same color.

If you choose burgundy wallpaper, then only one of the walls should be decorated with them. Even just one burgundy wool carpet can become dominant when decorating a living room in this color. It is important to avoid an excess of this color, so it is enough to choose several interior elements of this color. For the living room, a pair of burgundy armchairs and similar colored pillows on the sofa may be enough.

If you choose burgundy furniture for the living room, it is best to have a glossy surface, which will highlight its beauty and give the room a greater sense of luxury of a royal palace. The most successful solution is furniture with burgundy upholstery.

By choosing burgundy curtains for the living room, you can complement the living room interior with a table lamp with a lampshade of the same color. Silk curtains in burgundy color are considered the most advantageous option for this type of living room design. They will create an atmosphere of airy romance and mystery. Burgundy curtains look especially good against white walls.

When decorating a living room in this color, it is important to remember that burgundy color is appropriate in spacious rooms, but is not relevant in small rooms with low ceilings. Most often, classic living rooms, rooms in the Empire and Art Deco styles are decorated in these colors. But it would also be appropriate to use this color for a living room decorated in country or eco-style.

Burgundy color is a beautiful, rich combination of red and brown. Today it is one of the most popular and is often called “Marsala”, “Bordeaux”, “Burgundy”, so it is used not only in the creation of fashionable and stylish clothes, but also in interior design.

The burgundy color is characterized by a rich and luxurious look, so it is perfect for those who prefer expensive and high-quality things.

A room using these colors has all the qualities of red, but looks somewhat muted, and therefore does not have a negative effect on the human nervous system.

The burgundy color gives the room a festive feel, adds solidity and luxury.

However, in addition to such significant advantages, this color also has disadvantages. It must be used with caution and the right shades must be found that will go well with it.

The color burgundy is too versatile, and therefore requires proper coordination of the entire palette of the room. For this reason, you should study the photo and figure out what you can expect from using burgundy color in the interior and what color combinations should be avoided.

Depending on your preferences and goals, you can choose the best options.

Features of burgundy

Burgundy itself is a warm shade, so the ideal and win-win option is to combine it with cream, light gray and beige.

Advice! You should give preference to such options if you are not sure that you want to see other, more saturated colors.

For those who want to add a touch of luxury, it is better to combine burgundy not only with neutral beige shades, but also with gold and metallic silver elements.

Black combined with burgundy will help you create a business style. Of course, for such a combination, the homeowner needs to have some courage, since in this case it is necessary not to overdo it and create an interior in which the room will have a solid, but not gloomy appearance.

Keep in mind that the black and burgundy option is not suitable for every room. For a relaxation room, it is better to give preference to light colors and use shades of red only to divide the room into zones.

Burgundy can be combined with dark green and olive. However, this combination can be tiring, so it is better to use it in those rooms in which a person spends little time, that is, in the toilet and bathroom.

The main condition that must be observed when using burgundy color is measured use, with a sense of faith. You can select it for all rooms, but use it with special care in the nursery and hallway.

You can not only paint the walls in this shade, but also purchase various interior elements, for example, poufs, a sofa. Be careful: Excessive consumption of burgundy color can destabilize the emotional state. In order for the psychological state to be stable, burgundy should be combined with calmer colors.

How to use burgundy in different rooms

Hallway

First of all, when a person enters home, he finds himself in the hallway. An unobtrusive solution would be to purchase a burgundy-colored pouf or a small rug. Basically, the layouts do not provide for a window in this part of the apartment. Therefore, it is better not to paint the walls burgundy, so as not to create a feeling of oppressive atmosphere in the cramped space of the hallway and corridor.

Living room

This room is a room where you can relax and receive your guests. The hall or living room can be made colorful and bright, which will cause admiration, and burgundy color in the interior of the living room will be very useful.

Burgundy curtains in the interior photo

You can use both certain elements in this shade and decorate walls with it. To ensure that the space is not too dark, you should give preference to decorating only one wall with burgundy and maintaining this color with small decorative elements or certain large objects.

Burgundy curtains will look great in the interior; a fluffy carpet in this shade will also highlight the owners’ sense of taste. In any case, such a color accent will attract attention and make the room design stylish, so a living room interior in burgundy is a good solution for a modern, colorful design.

Advice! A burgundy sofa or armchairs will add special luxury to the interior. In this case, the pillows on the furniture should be of opposite, but compatible colors from a light palette.

Children's room

As mentioned above, using burgundy color in the interior of a children's room, even with a combination of a lighter palette, is undesirable if you are not sure that you will not overdo it.

When the desire is great, you can use stains in burgundy color, then the interior will not seem gloomy, and the combination of different colors will look more bright and unusual.

It is worth paying attention to the purchase of the following children's interior items in a dark red shade: table lamp, armchairs, poufs, beanbags.

It is not worth making burgundy walls in the interior of this room, as this can depress the child’s psyche. It is best to choose beige, milky, or ivory if you intend to combine them in the future with other burgundy elements.

Bordeaux in the bedroom

As you know, the bedroom is a relaxation room for the owners. Here you can relax both soul and body, so everything should contribute to this. You should also select paints for interior decoration in this room with care, as in the nursery.

Burgundy color in the bedroom will look acceptable if used in separate elements. Burgundy furniture should be limited only to the head of the bed. You can add burgundy by purchasing a bedspread in the recommended color. As for the material, to maintain the pomp of the interior in textiles, it is better to give preference to silk with gold embroidery.

As decoration, you can use stylish curtains, which can have light patterns. You already know what colors burgundy goes with in the interior, so choosing the appropriate accessories will not be difficult.

Kitchen room decoration

A kitchen in burgundy color looks very luxurious. Considering that most housewives spend a long time here, this color will be conducive to creating real culinary masterpieces and royal dishes.

For this room you can safely purchase the entire furniture set in these colors: they will be more appropriate here than ever. In addition, you can use different combinations of colors with burgundy. You can use both dark and light colors: it all depends on what you like best.

Remember! If the kitchen is not very large, it is better to give preference to a combination of burgundy with light shades, as otherwise the room may become too dark and depressing.

The width of the windows should also be taken into account. If natural light regularly enters the kitchen, you can safely combine burgundy with black or brown. Such a kitchen will look pompous and luxurious.

Bathroom

In the bathroom you can combine burgundy with other colors. The priority is a combination of snow-white and milky with a dark red or beetroot shade.

Considering that each person is not in this room as often as, for example, in the bedroom, you can use this color duet of burgundy and white when laying tiles.

You can look at different patterns and dilute the dark color with a sandy, mint shade. If you only want to add burgundy accessories to the design, you should purchase a burgundy rug, towels and curtains, and leave everything else in neutral white.

Burgundy compositions in the interior

A universal option is a combination of burgundy and gray. It looks great when creating strict decors.

The following composition is also popular: expensive furniture, elaborate decorative items and antiques. If these items are present in the room, you can safely add burgundy paints. It is advisable to combine burgundy exclusively with brown.

Despite the fact that the use of burgundy in the interior is luxury on the verge of foul, it introduces notes of wealth and elegance. It is no wonder that many people love this shade as it is the epitome of elegance and splendor.

Remember: Burgundy must be used and combined with other colors very carefully, then the result will be exactly as you expect.

If you cannot do this yourself, it is better to turn to professional designers who can combine different colors in the design of the room, which will make the interior flawless.

You can talk at length about canons in design, but every day the existing canons are becoming less and less stable. Aesthetics and harmony, balance, colors, materials brought together in order to obtain such a long-awaited result are the essence of your knowledge, practice and self-development. My motto is to learn, see, touch something new every day, and I am sure that this is the only way to stay on the right course in “high design.”

Carmine, lingonberry, ripe cherry, Bismarck furioso... Do you think I'm crazy? No, these are just shades of burgundy, rich and bright, muted and deep, fierce and cozy. I couldn’t pass by this color also because it took over everything, becoming the main shade of 2015 according to the Pantone Institute. So, let's figure out what burgundy color goes with in the interior.

Perhaps it’s worth starting with the fact that burgundy is a rather specific color. Being a symbiosis of red and brown, on the one hand it gives comfort, and on the other hand it kindles passion.

Brown, with its inherent monumentality, carries traditionality and confidence, but in large quantities it can provoke fatigue.

Red is life, burning fire, youth and love. It is emotionally strong, stimulates vigorous activity, and excites imagination.

Burgundy conveys to the interior the qualities inherent in red, but does it more softly.

Rooms in burgundy tones look rich and impressive, their atmosphere is filled with luxury and solemnity. The interior is characterized by “maturity”, solidity, and the absence of youthful enthusiasm.

Combine correctly

I consider the main allies of burgundy to be white, beige, cream, milky and light gray.

But these are not all color duets.

  • Golden and burgundy will instantly make the interior bursting with luxury and pomp. This combination requires a lot of space, so it is appropriate in halls and living rooms.

  • The combination with black is more often used for zoning a kitchen-studio, but for children’s rooms I would not recommend such a duo.

  • The combination of gray and burgundy in the interior is considered universal, suitable for any room. Light gray is appropriate in classic decors, suitable for the living room and bedroom.

The photo shows a combination of burgundy textiles and gray wall decoration in a bedroom design

  • The duo of burgundy and brown brings modesty to the fore. Having chosen such a tandem, refuse expensive furniture, pretentious accessories and antiques.

  • It’s hard not to notice the impressiveness of the interior, which combines dark green and burgundy. However, over time, this combination becomes tiring, so use it exclusively for rooms where you do not plan to spend a lot of time, for example, for.

  • The combination of pink and burgundy exudes tenderness and warmth. You can safely decorate a bedroom or children's room in these shades.

  • If you choose eco-style or country style, take a closer look at the tandem of burgundy and orange. Don't be surprised! You can actually get quite an interesting solution from them.

Know your place!

Hallway

She greets us first and forms an impression of the owner. In most typical apartments, hallways and corridors do not have an abundance of natural light and space, so choose a rich burgundy color only for decoration.

This can be a comfortable soft ottoman or a floor mat. For such a small space this will be enough.

Living room

In such a room, burgundy can be given all the reins. If the area of the room is small enough, choose burgundy to decorate the accent wall; both wallpaper and textured plaster will look equally attractive.

Burgundy accessories, such as lampshades, carpeting, bedspreads, window textiles and furniture upholstery, will help bring the interior together.

Children's

The use of burgundy in a nursery is a controversial issue, causing a lot of discussion. I would not recommend painting large areas (walls, ceilings, large furniture) dark; opt for accent use in decor, lighting or textiles.

An excellent alternative for a nursery could be a shade of strawberry jelly, matte and diffused. As a complement, use light green and turquoise.

Burgundy goes well with white in the Provence style. If a little lady agrees to an abundance of ruffles and bows, why not?

Bedroom

Burgundy fills the bedroom with passion. It can be safely used in the design of bed headboards, window textiles, bedspreads and decorative pillows. Oh yes, night lights with burgundy lampshades will look great against pastel walls.

If you plan to combine burgundy with white, use the principle of horizontal division.
In this case, a dark shade is used in the lower part of the room, a light shade in the upper part.

Kitchen

  • When choosing burgundy as the main color, dilute it with milky and beige tones so that its amount does not exceed 50%.
  • You can also play with contrast, for example, choosing green as a second color.

  • As a complement, use woody shades, creamy and diluted pink.
  • You can add blue to grassy shades. Due to the fact that burgundy contains a little blue, it goes well with blue tones. You can balance the rich duet by using gray, white and black.

Bathroom

Burgundy color in the bathroom requires a careful approach to choosing style and accessories. If you don't plan to limit yourself to a couple of burgundy towels or a rug, choose a classic style that involves the use of natural materials.

Combine burgundy with chrome bathroom fixtures, massive mirror frames, and dark rattan wicker baskets.

Several interesting burgundy projects

And, of course, according to the good old tradition, I offer you several ready-made interior options in which burgundy was chosen as the accent color. Let's get started.

Roman holiday

So, I saw an apartment in a house built in 1930, which looked more like a warehouse of junk and furniture, seasoned with a complete cacophony of styles.

The only thing that gave me hope for a bright future were two huge windows overlooking the old center of Rome.

The main wish of the housewife is a partial unification of the kitchen and living room, which would not expose the kitchen chaos. It was for this purpose that a double-sided bookcase was installed.

For color zoning, a burgundy color was chosen, which very well matches the red suspended ceiling.

The living room has a comfortable sofa and a gigantic wardrobe filled with books and magazines.

The burgundy theme continued in the bedroom; above the bed there was an interesting lingonberry-colored shelf, and on the bed there was a bedspread with an ornament.

The bedroom is separated from the living room by a sliding door, which does not take up extra space when solving the issue of privacy.

A designer table and chair upholstered in painted fabric settled in the hallway.

Fireplace and lingonberry kitchen

Do you think that classical English style and Armenian folklore cannot exist within the same walls? You are wrong! And I will prove it to you now.

The main idea in the design was patchwork, combining textures and colors. The compositional center of the living room is a seven-meter fireplace, which in its entirety evokes the spirit of old England.

The main shades are ocher, scarlet, beech and mahogany, bottle and lingonberry. All this motley color fraternity is united by a floral print.

The decor of the fireplace uses a solar symbol and frieze elements from the Yerevan Opera.
But the tiles themselves were made in Gzhel.

The fireplace tiles are made in two shades - white and milky, due to this the surface does not look flat and shimmers a little.

For the kitchen set, I chose a complex red one, which I found in the catalog of the German factory Rational. Bright pops of color are balanced by light walls. The same combination of bottle green and red is used in the living room.

The suspended structure located above the kitchen island deserves special attention. Thanks to it, the space is balanced and the room does not “creep” upward. The walls are decorated with bright patchwork created from wallpaper with various floral patterns.

The flights of stairs are painted in the same bright color. Thanks to this, it was possible to beat the column, which was comfortably, but completely out of place, located at the entrance.

Summing up

Everything that surrounds us affects our mental state, and burgundy color will be no exception. In our minds does he recreate majestic historical paintings and heavy interiors? Why?

After all, it is considered the color of creative people, a color that awakens imagination. The thing is that this particular shade was most often used in creating castle interiors, hence the association.

By the way, the name of the shade itself was first used in the 18th century and originates from the French “bordeaux”, dark red.

Well, my cranberry-flavored burgundy opus is coming to an end. But before I call it a day, let me ask a question: how do you feel about the burgundy color scheme? Are you ready to let it into your home? Share your thoughts in the comments, but all I can do is offer you a very interesting video in this article.

June 26, 2016

If you want to express gratitude, add a clarification or objection, or ask the author something - add a comment or say thank you!

Is everyone ready? Then let's begin. I think you can find a lot of useful and interesting things for yourself in this article.

A little about the meaning

Color weddings have become very popular lately. This European trend has settled quite densely in Russian spaces. And you can understand why. A single color adds style and sophistication to the celebration. Each color carries a specific meaning and meaning. Likewise, our burgundy is considered the color of passion, luxury and prosperity.

A touch of royal charm, nobility and prosperity is perfect for people who respect tradition, who always have a goal and strive to achieve it. On top of all this, our shade just screams stability and balance. Bordeaux is perfect for those who are enterprising and persistent, but not too emotional.

What to combine with

Since the burgundy color is very rich in itself, before you start decorating the celebration, you need to discuss several nuances.

Firstly, an excess of color will make the holiday atmosphere heavier, so you should not overdo it with the number of bright accessories. Secondly, since this shade is quite rich and self-sufficient, it is better to combine it with white, beige, cream or ivory.

If you still want something brighter, then burgundy in combination with turquoise or coral will look beautiful.

Now, having learned some points, I think we can proceed to the design itself.

Burgundy outfits

Speaking of outfits, don't limit yourself to a burgundy dress or suit. In fact, there are several interesting options that will help your outfits fit into the style of the celebration.

Bride

An original idea for a burgundy wedding would be elegant bright embroidery on a classic snow-white dress, a burgundy-colored satin belt, and a beautiful bow. Also, don’t forget about hair, makeup and manicure. Here you can also add a touch of brightness to your formal attire.

And of course, we must not forget about the main attribute for the bride’s image. Exactly. This is a wedding bouquet. You can create a bright, rich bouquet of burgundy flowers. And if you prefer something more modest and delicate, then you can choose a classic white bouquet and complement it with bright ribbons, beads and other decorative elements.

Groom

Well, usually the groom has less choice in clothing options, but not today. First, you can choose a traditional black suit with a burgundy shirt. Secondly, you can choose a black suit with a white shirt, but burgundy accessories (tie, bow tie, boutonniere, handkerchief). Thirdly, you can be more original and dare to wear a burgundy suit.

Guests

Well, to once again emphasize the style of the wedding, you can set a certain dress code for the guests. For example, you could specify that the bridesmaids should all wear the same color or that the guys should have burgundy shirts. There is also a less serious option, in which the main outfit should not contain the desired color scheme, but a small bright accessory will suffice.

Decorating the hall

Of course, the outfits of the newlyweds are much more important, but no less important detail in the design is the decoration of the banquet hall. Here it is necessary to note several decorative elements, without which you will not get a bright and stylish picture as a whole.

  1. The first important element for design is fabrics. It can be chiffon, organza, silk or satin. You can decorate walls with such fabrics, decorate the area in front and behind the newlyweds, you can choose a bright burgundy tablecloth or original lush bows for chairs. A combination of a white tablecloth and burgundy-colored chair covers would also be a good idea.
  2. The second significant decoration item is flowers. Of course, fresh flowers look much more bright and elegant, but artificial ones can also be perfectly matched to the tone of the celebration. It is also desirable that the flowers placed on the guests' tables and in front of the newlyweds be combined with the bride's bouquet.
  3. There are several more colorful accessories that will help decorate your wedding table. For example, burgundy fruits and berries. Such baskets will not only be a tasty snack, but also a stylish addition to your decor.

Bright accessories

Like the entire interior, wedding accessories should be made in the same color scheme. To complete the design, you should start from the beginning and complete the decoration of all the little things to the end:

  • invitations. This is the element from which the entire process of preparation for the wedding begins. You can make them yourself or just buy them, the main thing is that they reflect the whole essence of the chosen shade;
  • glasses and bottles of champagne. Another traditional accessory that no wedding would be complete without. Here you need not to skimp and decorate not only according to the theme and color of the celebration, but richly and from the heart, since these are the details of the wedding that will remain with you for a long time, giving wonderful memories of such a happy day;
  • small accessories. For example, bonbonnieres, gifts for guests, a book of wishes for the newlyweds, . All this should be harmoniously combined with the overall tone of the wedding;
  • decorations for photo sessions. What would photos be without bright and thematic decorations? Of course, any bride looks beautiful in a fluffy white dress. But the same bride will look much more lively, stylish and brighter against some voluminous and original background.
  • decorations for cars. Burgundy decoration is very rich and bright, so it is an excellent option for decorating a wedding procession. You can choose both dark and light cars. But still, the decorations will look best on a white car. This option will look very rich and attractive.

Delicious ending

We almost forgot about another very significant attribute that deserves special consideration - the wedding cake. Modern craftsmen can make almost any of your whims, so use your imagination and go ahead. You can make a voluminous cake with burgundy filling, or you can choose a more traditional option and make a white cake with burgundy-colored decoration.

In recent years, newlyweds have increasingly chosen cupcakes for their cake. Well, this is convenient. In portions. And you won't have to get your hands dirty. Do you think this cake is appropriate or is the traditional format much better? Don't forget and leave your comments.

A few numbers in parting

Of course, reading about and seeing the beautiful embodiments of such designs in the photo, you involuntarily think, how much does such a wedding cost? And will it be affordable for me? Well, let's look at this practical, but no less important question.

Don’t be alarmed, because any design can be squeezed into a certain budget. Even if you plan to spend 30 thousand on decorating the hall, then don’t be sad, because for this amount you can perfectly decorate a banquet hall. The cost of decoration primarily depends on the popularity of the decorator or on the quality of the chosen materials.

A wonderful video about the wedding of Vladimir and Evgenia in burgundy and turquoise at the Serednikovo estate:

Of course, decorating a room with fresh flowers will cost much more than decorating a room with a garland of voluminous paper flowers. Or instead of silk fabrics, you can choose satin, organza or chiffon. Decorative letters, words and inscriptions made of foam will be less expensive than the same accessories made of wood.

It’s good, of course, if you have an unlimited budget, but if you still don’t, then it doesn’t matter. The main thing is to approach the design with soul. If you can’t do it yourself, then they will always gladly help you. There are people on the site who will happily implement all your ideas.

The main thing is that you feel comfortable on this solemn and happy day. And I say goodbye to you for a while and promise to return very soon with an even more interesting article.

Well, as usual, I remind you. Don't forget to subscribe to blog news, tell your stories and leave comments. Subscribe yourself and invite your friends. I wish everyone positive and good mood. Until next time.

With burgundy color, you don’t have to sacrifice comfort for the sake of external aesthetics and sophistication. It will allow any room to look expressive and expensive. You should only consider moderation of use and select combinations for each individual room with different functionality. This will make the design precise and stylish. And although burgundy color in the interior is considered a difficult decision, the photos will certainly push you to make the right one.

Color meaning for each style

A variety of shades are used in well-known, recognizable styles, time-tested, such as classics and art deco. The color of an exquisite burgundy will emphasize the good taste of the owners. The matte finish will make the interior deep. The combination of red and brown gives the desired shade, which is quite common in historical styles such as baroque and country.

Carpet in the living room with fireplace

Now some solutions are based on an individual approach. The burgundy color, which has some traditionality and stereotyping, emphasizes bold interiors, creating beautiful eclectic, non-standard solutions, fashionable fusion with notes of ethno-style. With white paint of a modern style, industrial brick of a loft, burgundy elements wonderfully exist, becoming expressive art objects:

  • tapestries;
  • country style textiles;
  • silky carpets with recognizable oriental patterns;
  • abstract painting.

Color proportionality

Depending on the functionality of the room, designers recommend the dosage of this color. After all, a comfortable pastime depends not only on personal preferences. Sometimes even your favorite shade of burgundy can cause discomfort and negative psychological pressure if there is excess.

Will delight you with ideal, verified duets, with no room for error, with the following tones:

  • subtle shades of beige;
  • pearl and smoky gray;
  • pure white;
  • creamy, milky, champagne, any alternative modifications of white.

Black and white interiors come to life thanks to bright berry and fruit shades. A distinct finish will add contrast to this trio of mostly achromatic colors. Even the calm, muted tones of a burgundy wall will not allow the hallway or kitchen area to look boring if there are black and white tiles on the floor. But a predominant amount of dark color, without a sufficient share of light, will make the room gloomy.

Not every room can withstand the abundance of deep shades of French wine in the interior. Sometimes it makes more sense to choose one thing for expressive color: furniture instead of walls, or only small decorative objects, as is the case with a nursery. A table of the predominant use of color in specific rooms from the point of view of psychological comfort, regardless of cubic capacity, will help.

Luxury living room

Burgundy easily takes on a representative function in the interior, because it is associated with solemnity and well-being, which is so appropriate for the main room of the house.

The design of the living room will only benefit from a combination of deep burgundy shades with all the classic design techniques, styles with expressive decor:

  • stucco, carving;
  • patina, gilding in decoration, ornaments;
  • furniture groups made of solid dark wood;
  • mirrors, crystal, luxury glass;
  • silky, fleecy fabrics for upholstery and drapery;
  • textile wallpaper with noble patterns on a burgundy background.

Creating an environment of special scope in the art deco style, bohemian, spectacular is not a problem. But a living room with garnet and ruby walls, painted with matte paint or covered with wallpaper, may well look not like a formal hall, but a cozy and modern space.

A smooth white ceiling and bleached wood floor will perfectly balance the rich walls. Simple lines, geometric shapes of light furniture - for a comfortable, calm living room interior. Adding black in minimal quantities will add elegance.

Advice. High ceilings and sufficiently varied lighting are the key to the effective use of wine shades for walls.

Bedroom: delicate and different

Any bedroom will become absolutely luxurious if you add burgundy color to its interior. A particularly refined and attractive, sometimes somewhat romantic look is given by:

  • Tandems with soft pink accents, pastel shades of background surfaces.
  • Modern bed models are completely covered with textiles for special tenderness and softness of the main bed, and natural fabrics of the sleeping area will enhance the effect of warmth due to deep garnet and wine shades.
  • The combination of details in the designer pieces of furniture is simply off the scale: painted wooden legs in dark burgundy, upholstery made of boudoir fabrics.
  • Luxurious fabrics - velor, plush work well in burgundy, and beige, black, gold can serve as a contrasting edging and can be used for ornaments and patterns.
  • Lancet niches, majestic headboard, blue and burgundy - adapted oriental chic for the bedroom.
  • A softer, dusty shade of burgundy is suitable for a vintage bedroom design.

The passion of the East and the tenderness of marshmallow are not suitable for everyone. Against the backdrop of a rich, solid wine-red wall, a gray bed of a laconic shape with the addition of black accents in the bedroom design will add brutality to the interior. Fashionable urban motifs can be easily supported with the help of burgundy color in the interior of the entire space of the apartment, which claims to be an original solution with pronounced energy.

Brutal character

A room made in a “masculine” style cannot do without color accents when such modern materials and strong techniques are used:

  • worn brickwork;
  • raw concrete;
  • rough skin;
  • metal elements;
  • technogenic lamps.

Burgundy, along with emerald green and dark blue, will support the idea, giving the room a calm, seasoned look, but with individual accents, looking especially impressive against the background of neutral colors. It is not necessary to design the entire living space in such a brutal, urban style.

The office is considered male territory: if the classic design does not seem relevant, then the latest trends will fully express the mood. The modern look suggests:

  • monumental pieces of furniture - a sofa upholstered in burgundy leather;
  • things with history, elements of industrial design;
  • sharp corners, broken lines.

And of course, traditional shades are indispensable for the strict nature of the room, which serves as a library or study. A burgundy ceiling, perhaps a coffered ceiling, next to wooden panels, and noble striped wallpaper are even appropriate here. This will bring prosperity and increased comfort to the atmosphere.

Kitchen – cozy and modern

The presence of burgundy is justified from the point of view of the positive color effect on the nervous system and appetite. But the small kitchen area will be a serious obstacle to implementation. A completely dark burgundy set, even against the background of light walls and ceiling, will make an overwhelming impression in a miniature kitchen space.

If you don’t want to limit yourself to curtains or a kitchen apron, an alternative division will help:

  • the light top is not radically white, but its “gastronomic” variations: milk, vanilla, creamy.
  • lower moderate wine-red tier on porcelain stoneware or light-colored wood floors.
  • marble with cherry veining for finishing suitable surfaces.
  • lack of decor on the facades, minimalism in details.

Advice. All glass elements and white splashback tiles will add lightness, regardless of style.

Kitchen sets are capable of independently expressing an idea. It is important how the burgundy color is applied - painted solid wood, matte or glossy MDF. The most popular modern solutions love bright, bold variations:

  • A combination of burgundy facades and metal elements, frame models made of light aluminum, fittings and small household appliances for high-tech.
  • Strict lines of minimalism and a bright shade (garnet) on a snow-white background.
  • Glossy colored fronts with black elements of innovative household appliances - for a modern style that transforms the kitchen from a place of culinary accomplishments into a living space.

Spectacular bathroom

The logical combination of burgundy color in the interior of even a small bathroom with white sanitary ware is successfully played out; it can be quite bright and contrasting, which is conveyed even in the photo. The limited time spent in the “wet zone” allows you to create a catchy design that won’t get boring.

Colorful oriental or calm classic - the bathroom will definitely sparkle with new colors, because in addition to tiles, as the most common solution, the following will come to the rescue:

  • wooden surfaces or tiles with imitation flooring;
  • porcelain, enamel elements;
  • a sufficient number of mirrors.

Adding blue pigments to burgundy allows the shade to become cooler. It works great in combination with silver, chromed metal, if you don’t like gold for functional bathroom decoration (soap dishes, towel holders) and plumbing components, it seems pretentious.

The main condition is a diverse lighting scenario. It will prevent you from looking gloomy in the morning, enhancing the notes of invigorating red in a complex color, and in the evening it will create a relaxing atmosphere with a touch of luxury in this area.

Alternative combinations

If in combinations with materials such as marble, wood, natural stone, metal, burgundy color manifests itself in all its glory, then not everything is so simple with contrasting colors.
Only informed decisions and moderation will make it possible to make burgundy friends with other representatives of the color palette.

Designers do not use purple as a companion, and with caution, in doses:

  • Herbal green. The best shade is natural greenery, and in its natural form: 2-3 beautiful plants, small decor.
  • Olive. Moderate application will highlight and aesthetically calm the brightness of dark reds.
  • Citric. Current shades of yellow will add positivity.
  • Blue. Cool tones, with the addition of notes of gray and turquoise, will allow the fashionable color trend - Marsala - to appear in an advantageous light.
