How to use bath bombs?

Fill the tub with hot water and dip one bomb into it. When it begins to hiss and dissolve, the whole room will be filled with a pleasant aroma. Soak for about 20 minutes in this water, and your skin will become soft and silky to the touch.

Helpful Hint: Take this bath only after a regular shower to keep your skin clean. If you are going to use a bomb, you should not use soap and shower gel at the same time. After taking a bath, do not rinse the skin so that all the essential oils remain on it.

You need to store the bombs in a special container or bag, otherwise they will lose their hissing properties. If you are using a foam bomb, place it in the water while filling the tub to create more foam. The hotter the water, the faster the bomb will dissolve.

After taking a bath, simply rinse its surface with plain water to wash away the remnants of oils and all other components. It is worth noting that some ingredients can color water. This list includes chocolate, clay, various dyes and colored bath salts. At the same time, chocolate and clay can also leave sediment at the bottom of the bath. After getting out of the bath, pat your body dry with a towel. Your skin will acquire a pleasant aroma that will last for a long time.

There are a lot of recipes for making bombs with your own hands. If you wish, you can use various medicinal herbs, oils and other components you like to create them. It all depends on your preferences.

Do you want to turn a regular bath into a real spa experience? Just add bright (and harmless) colors, a pleasant rich aroma and a huge amount of useful substances to the water! How? With the help of bath bombs, which you can make yourself at home.

The benefits of bombs

The basis for any mini bath geyser is two ingredients: soda and citric acid. It is they who create the hissing effect after they fall into the water. Why is soda so good? It restores the acid-base balance, helps to normalize the metabolism in cells. Its advantages include the fact that it perfectly softens water, and this is important in urban conditions. Citric acid, in turn, is able to cleanse the human body of harmful substances.

The result of taking baths with bombs also depends on what other components you have added to them. Among the most popular additives is sea salt, which contains various minerals, essential and cosmetic oils. Oils nourish the skin and soften it, normalize metabolic processes. In addition, the smells of different essential oils have different effects on a person: they invigorate and tone, soothe and relax.

Preparatory stage

Let's talk about how to make a bath bomb. Here is a list of the basic ingredients we will need:

  • citric acid (powder);
  • baking soda;
  • water;
  • liquid food coloring;
  • essential oils;
  • sea salt.

In addition, when creating bombs, you will need rubber gloves, a large bowl, scales, molds. You can't do without a spray gun. You may need a gauze mask. We recommend making one or two bath bombs to get you started. Later, when you learn how to make bombs quickly, you can make several at once!

Manufacturing rules

The main rule is that soda and citric acid must be mixed in a ratio of 2: 1. If you violate the proportions, the bombs simply will not boil. In the process of creating balls, gloves should be used, because both soda and citric acid in dry form adversely affect the skin. In addition, they can irritate the mucous membranes of the nose, and therefore people with special sensitivity cannot do without gauze bandages.

Step one: prepare the base

First you need to mix soda and citric acid thoroughly. There are several options that will allow you to get a quality base: you can mix these components with a coffee grinder or whisk, you can just rub it well with a spoon. Then you need to add essential oils to the composition. Please note: if the mixture begins to sizzle during the addition of oil, you need to quickly mix it. After that, it is necessary to divide the resulting mixture into several parts, add a few drops of dye to each, and then knead until a uniform color is obtained.

Step two: shaping

Using a spray bottle, carefully spray water into the mixture. At the same time, it is important to constantly mix the mass or rub it with your hands, monitor the consistency of the composition - it must be plastic. The finished mixture must be laid out in molds, pressing it against the walls. If you don't have special molds for bath bombs, don't worry - ice or baking molds will do. You can even take molds from children's sandbox sets!

Step Three: Drying

Ready-made bath bombs need to be thoroughly dried. To do this, put them on paper or parchment and leave for several hours. Finished balls, which must be very strong and hard, should be packed in bags or cling film. By the way, the fresher and drier the balls, the more they hiss when they fall into the water. Therefore, do not store them for a long time, especially without packaging.

DIY bath bombs: recipes

There are a huge number of interesting recipes for bubbling balls. By adding certain oils and plants to the base, you can enhance the beneficial properties of the product. Do not be afraid to experiment, mix a variety of paints and ingredients, oils and decorations and have holidays in your bathroom!

Hello dear friends!

Continuing the theme "Bath bombs? Easy!" today I will talk in more detail about the benefits of bombs and their components.

So, in the previous article, we learned that the basis of our geysers are: baking soda, citric acid, sea salt, vegetable oil for cosmetic purposes and essential oils.

The main components of bath bombs, baking soda and citric acid, do not interact with each other in dry form. But when water is added, a reaction begins like a geyser, in which the bathroom is filled with delicious aromas of essential oils, and the water is saturated with healthy oils and trace elements, while soda softens the water, and citric acid acts as an air conditioner.

Let's take a closer look at each of the ingredients.

Not everyone knows the amazing healing properties of baking soda - this "simple" substance. It turns out that sodium bicarbonate (soda) is one of the main ingredients of our blood. As a result of a study of the effect of soda on the human body, it turned out that soda is able to balance the acid-base balance in the body, restore cell metabolism, improve oxygen uptake by tissues, and much more. Soda helps with heartburn, seasickness, colds, heart disease and headaches, skin diseases. Soda solves many cosmetic problems, it can be used for skin and hair care, even lotions are made with it for newborns if they develop diaper rash.

Citric acid is no less useful. It is part of many cosmetic products for the face and hair (used as an acidity regulator).
Citric acid cleanses the body of harmful toxic substances, removes salts, toxins, improves the activity of the digestive organs, increases visual acuity, has antitumor properties, reduces the increased acidity of gastric juice, increases the excretion of toxins through the skin, improves immunity, etc.

The most common additional ingredient in bombs is sea salt.
Sea salt baths are one of the most popular treatments. Taking it, you can strengthen the immune system and improve the body as a whole.
Baths with sea salt have a positive effect on the condition of the skin. Sea salt contains magnesium, which actively fights cellulite when taking salt baths at home. Salt nourishes the skin with minerals, as a result, cellular metabolism is normalized and the skin looks smooth and elastic.
The components of sea salt actively act on nerve endings, thereby improving metabolic processes in the body, replenishing the deficiency of many trace elements. The nervous system is strengthened, working capacity is increased, muscle tension and fatigue are relieved.
Such baths are involved in the complex treatment of skin diseases: dermatitis, acne, psoriasis, eczema.

Cosmetic oils (grape seed oil, olive, peach, almond, apricot, etc.) soften and nourish the skin.

The essential oils that are part of the geysers have an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect, activate metabolic processes, promote regeneration, and have a beneficial effect on mood and well-being. Under the influence of hot water, the essential oils released from the bombs partially penetrate the body through the skin, partially evaporate, creating an inhalation effect. Thus, natural bath bombs affect the body not only from the outside, but also from the inside.

Cosmetic clay, starch, milk powder, cocoa, chocolate, coffee, spices, dry plants and flowers, oatmeal, bath pearls and much more, as your imagination suggests, can be used as additional components in the bombs.

As a kind of geysers, there are small bombs that are used for manicure and pedicure.

After taking a bath, it is enough just to blot the body with a towel, apply a nourishing or moisturizing cream to the skin and relax for half an hour in a quiet environment with a cup of hot herbal tea. Such a procedure is a wonderful end to a working day, after which a blissful feeling and sound sleep are guaranteed.

It should be noted that hydroprocedures should not be taken by people suffering from such diseases as: tumors, diabetes, psychosis, fever, skin diseases of fungal and purulent origin, thrombophlebitis, diabetes, acute circulatory and lymphatic circulation disorders, blood diseases, severe infectious diseases. It is also not advised to take baths during critical days and pregnancy.

And a few words about the methods and terms of storage of this product.
Bath bombs must be sealed to prevent moisture from getting on the surface and to prevent the essential oils from weathering. I also advise you to store bombs with different flavors separately from each other, in order to avoid mixing flavors.
The shelf life of geysers depends on the presence of cosmetic oils in the recipe. In the presence of such, the shelf life of the bombs is no more than 3-4 months.
If the bomb is made on a water or alcohol basis, without the use of vegetable oils, such a bomb can be stored in a cool dry place for a relatively long time.

Fantasize and experiment, the main thing is not to be afraid! Good luck!

A modern person rarely allocates time for a bath, but in vain: pleasant sensations and relaxation perfectly relieve irritation and tension. For more relaxation, many add special oils, foam, sea salt and other products. In addition, you can use bath bombs with aromas of essential oils or fragrances - a ball of this type begins to boil, spin, spreading a pleasant and subtle smell. Their use can be a good alternative to a salt bath.

What is a bath bomb

Bath bombs are a product that contains specially selected compositions of oils, herbs, muds, clays and other dry ingredients. Some options contain glitter or flower petals inside. These effervescent balls are sometimes called geysers and are known for their healing properties. One of the main components, which is baking soda, works very well against itching, skin irritations, and citric acid makes the bath balls hiss. You can give them any color using natural dyes.

How to use

Before using bubbling bath balls, learn about the rules for their use. In general, using bath bombs is very simple:

  • First of all, decide on a suitable option for a bomb, which can be scented with lavender, essential oils, etc.
  • Next, fill the bathroom with water at a comfortable temperature and lower one of these bombs into it.
  • As soon as the ball is in the water, it will begin to foam, bubble.
  • Then it will begin to fall apart, dissolve, as a result of which the aroma will be released, and useful oils and salts will fall into the water.

How to make a bath bomb

Bath balls are sold in specialized stores, but to save money, make them yourself. With the right approach, a homemade ball will turn out to be no less fragrant and useful than a store-bought version. To prepare it, you need to buy the ingredients in advance in accordance with the instructions with the photo - for example, dry flower petals, a few tablespoons of soda, food coloring. Then they are thoroughly mixed, take a mold and pour the whole mass into it. After that, the mixture is left to dry, and at the end it is wrapped in cling film.

bomb ingredients

The list of required ingredients may vary slightly depending on the recipe, but for starters, it would be nice to use the basic recipe for making fragrant bath balls. At the same time, please note that if in the future you will use solid oil, then it must first be dissolved in a water bath. In addition, if the mass does not stick together (does not mold) or crumbles after drying, then you have not moistened it well. As for the basic ingredients, many of them are used in the manufacture of soap:

  • citric acid in granules or powder;
  • baking soda;
  • sea or table salt;
  • dyes (additional component);
  • fillers (optional).

bath bomb recipe

To make bombs, you can buy special molds or use eggs from kinder surprises. The proportion of the main components (salt, soda, citric acid) should be 8-4-2 hours. You can add the remaining components at your discretion: for example, it can be a few drops of essential oil, almond, olive, etc. To prepare colored multi-layer balls, you need to prepare a mixture of different colors, which will have to be laid in layers in a mold. In addition, large colored salt or dried flowers can be placed at the bottom of the mold. Helpful Hints:

  • Use food coloring to make bath balls, as they are harmless to the skin.
  • If you have waterlogged the bomb mix, you can simply dry it next to the radiator, or add the dry ingredients in proportion.
  • In order not to be mistaken with the amount of water, use a spray bottle.
  • When cooking, do not use apricot and peach kernel oil, because. the mass to which it is added does not hold its shape very well.
  • Store finished bath products in a dry place, but preferably in airtight packaging.

With lavender

First, grind in a coffee grinder 2 tbsp. spoons of citric acid, after which 8 tbsp. spoons of sea salt with lavender. Then mix thoroughly 4 tbsp. tablespoons of soda (food), 2 tbsp. spoons of base oil (almond, olive, etc.) with salt and acid. It remains to add 8 drops of lavender oil. Do everything carefully so that the mass does not start to hiss. The result should be a mixture that looks like wet sand. Then:

  1. For a drawing, for example, in the form of a heart, separate a little mass from the mixture, mix it with 1 g of food coloring and tamp it on the bottom of the mold.
  2. Firmly pack the bulk of the mass into the two halves of the form, firmly press them together.
  3. After a few seconds, open both halves, put the finished bomb to dry for a day.

With mint

A good choice for you can be the Mint Ecstasy recipe, which will give you a feeling of cheerfulness and freshness for the whole day. To prepare, mix the following ingredients with each other: soda (4 tablespoons), milk powder (2 tablespoons), mint essential oil (15 drops), sea salt (1 tablespoon) and olive oil (2 st. l.). At the end, put the mixture in a mold, leave to dry for 1-2 days.

Chocolate

An original and interesting option called “Chocolate Chic” will help you relax and absorb the delicate aroma of chocolate into your skin. The method of its manufacture corresponds to the basic recipe, i.e. you also need to mix citric acid, salt and soda with other additional ingredients, shape and leave to dry for a while.   • soda - 100 g;
  • citric acid, sea salt, milk powder - 50 g each;
  • cocoa powder - 30 g;
  • cherry / chocolate flavor - 12 drops.

citrus

Essential citrus oils perfectly fight cellulite and give the skin the necessary elasticity. To prepare bombs with citrus aroma, take the basic ingredients, i.e. soda (4 tablespoons), sea salt (2 tablespoons) and citric acid (2 tablespoons) and additional: sea buckthorn oil (2 tablespoons), essential oils of mandarin, orange, lemon (according to 10-20 drops). In addition, you will need yellow food coloring. The cooking process does not differ from the basic recipe: mix everything, put the mass tightly in molds, leave to dry.

With almond oil

Bath bombs of this type help to tone the skin and uplift the mood. The preparation is very easy and simple. Mix with each other 4 tbsp. l. soda, 2 tbsp. l. sweet almond oil, 1/4 tsp. essential oil (of your choice), 2 tbsp. l. citric / ascorbic acid, 1 tsp. oil solution of vitamin E. There is nothing better than taking a soak in the tub after a hard day at work. To relax even more, many of us add special sea salt, foam, bath oils. I think many have already bought special mineral bath bombs. I offer several recipes for bath bombs. Making your own bath bombs at home is easy. Bombs are stored for a very long time. In the water, they begin to hiss, releasing essential oils and fragrance.

Bath bombs are not just a pleasant, tasty-smelling trifle, purely for joy and pleasure. Bath bombs are a unique type of natural cosmetics, a complete and self-sufficient body care product.
The basic (and always unchanged) ingredients of bath bombs are citric acid and baking soda, which is alkaline in nature. In dry form, acid and alkali do not interact. But as soon as you lower the bomb into the bath, they enter into a violent reaction, which is accompanied by the release of bubbles, due to which the famous hydromassage effect of bath bombs is created. This soft and delicate hydromassage improves blood circulation and has a lymphatic drainage effect.

Soda and acid, reacting with each other, are neutralized (so the bombs cannot harm the skin by dramatically changing the level of acidity in your bathroom), along the way soften hard water, but most importantly, they contribute to the rapid, complete and uniform dissolution of fillers, the presence of which is precisely and transforms natural bath bombs into a complete care product. Bath bombs have an aromatic, natural and psychotherapeutic effect due to the sea salt, cosmetic, essential and aromatic oils contained in them, as well as plant and mineral components.
Cosmetic oils that are part of bath bombs (grape seed oil, peach, almond, apricot) have a softening and nourishing effect on the skin.

Essential oils such as eucalyptus, patchouli, tea tree, sage, lemon, sweet orange, mint, and others, depending on the composition, tone, soothe, stimulate or help relieve tension. The essential oils included in the bath bombs have an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect, activate metabolic processes, promote regeneration, and have a beneficial effect on mood and well-being. Under the influence of hot water, the essential oils released from the bath bombs partially penetrate the body through the skin, partially evaporate, creating an inhalation effect. Thus, natural bath bombs affect the body not only from the outside, but also from the inside.

In addition to oils, the most common ingredient in bath bombs (the so-called main filler) is sea salt, which contains a whole range of useful minerals, and also acts as a scrub. According to the latest scientists, sea salt has exceptional healing properties, reduces high blood pressure, helps to cope with allergies, and significantly improves the condition of patients with diabetes and bronchial asthma. And this is not a complete list. By the way, according to Feng Shui, sea or natural rock salt not only removes harmful qi energy, but also attracts wealth. Taoists say that sea salt attracts money, so by dropping a bomb with sea salt into the bathroom, you have every chance to improve not only your health, but also your financial situation.
Sometimes cane sugar (great for gentle peeling) or starch (softening and nourishing the skin) is used instead of bath salt as a filler in bath bombs.

Also, natural bath bombs may contain honey (nourishes, promotes regeneration), natural dirt (has a cleansing and absorbing effect). Often, ground spices are also added to bath bombs, which provide a powerful warming effect (relevant for muscle pain, effective as an anti-cellulite agent). The composition of bath bombs may include components such as soy milk (softens the skin, gives the water in the bath a soft cream color), rose or violet petals, vanilla, jasmine flowers - for happiness and tranquility, silver or gold sparkles - for joy and holiday feeling. From a spray bottle, spray a little water on the mass and continue to mix. If foam or hiss appears, then there is enough water. Pour the mixture into molds greased with vegetable oil and place in the freezer for five minutes. Then the balls must be left to dry for five hours. Bath Balls - Recipe Without Water

Avor medved_san

What do you need:
60 ml soda (4 tablespoons)
2 tablespoons citric acid
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
2 tablespoons almond oil
vitamin "E"
1/4 teaspoon essential oil.

The recipe also includes 1 tablespoon of borax, but I didn’t put it: I’m not at home, and I don’t want to mess with it.

And the rest is pretty easy to find. Especially if you don’t focus on almond oil: any base oil will probably do. There is no water in the recipe, so the reaction between citric acid and soda does not begin until the ball is thrown into the bath.

How did you do it:
I mixed the dry ingredients, then added the base oil. Then - ethereal.
For the "shell" I used vanilla icing sugar and lemon oil. I also made these with the aroma of an apple: at home there is such an oil for the sauna.
For white "balls" - the same, plus marigold petals. I took the petals dry, did not soak.
For brown balls: powdered sugar with cinnamon, added more cinnamon for color, dry broken rose petals, apple flavor.

It turns out interesting if masses of different colors are put into the form in layers.

After the molds are filled, you can put them in the freezer for a while. The oil solidifies, the balls are easy to remove.
